Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*

First post here in this years thread. Im not really good at maintaining updates in these threads but just began my 2nd season with Liverpool so I shall inform how the first season went and some moves I made in the Summer.

1st Season: Big season for Liverpool. After narrowly missing out on the 2013/2014 Championship and the deaprture of the Luis Suarez prior to the 2014/2015 Season it looked as it the title window had closed once again on Liverpool. With a number of new signings the most notable being Italian striker Mario Balotelli Liverpool tried to bolster its attack to fill the void left by Suarez. Despite a lot of criticism about the team going into the season the team went on to prove the critics wrong. Liverpool returned to form not seen since the 1980s with a number of successes during the season. The team ended its 25 year drought and won its first league title since 1990 and first of the EPL era putting to bed the demons of the 2013/2014 season as well as a few other runner up finishes over the years. The team was bolstered by the key paternership of Daniel Sturridge who despite a 3 month layoff due to injury early in the season came out firing on all clynders during the remaining portion of the season ending up with 25 goals to finish 2nd behind only his partner in crime Mario Balotelli with 31 golas who won the Golden Boot and Player of the Year awards. In the realm of Europe Liverpool had an uneventful stint in the Champions League the highlght being a 6-3 win over Real Madrid but failed to qualify for the Round of 16. Liverpool then went onto the Europa League which saw the clubs first European success since the famous 2005 Champions League win beating Schalke 04 in the final. In other competitions Liverpool saw wins in both the Capital One Cup and FA Cups. Other notable players for the club during the year were Captain Steven Gerrard,Raheem Steerling,Philipe Couthino.

2nd Season: After a highly successful 14/15 campagin, Liverpool shocked the footballing world selling star striker Mario Balotelli to German superclum FC Bayern for a fee of $71,500,000 making a $55,000,000 profit on the $16,000,000 signing the prior year. Following the sale of Balotelli, Liverpool targeted a CAM to play behind Sturridge and Steerling. Liverpool aquired Mario Gotze for a sum of $96,500,000. The team also sold 1st string Goalkeeper Simon Mingolet for $28,300,000 to FC Barcelona allowing up and coming keeper Scuffet to become the teams 1st choice keeper going forward. Mingolet had a very strong 14/15 season leading the EPL in clean sheets. In a move of future planning Liverpool signed William Carvalho to replace captain Steve Gerrard at CDM position ahead of Gerrards retirment following the 15/16 season. In the UEFA Super Cup Liverpool matched up with Champions League Winners FC Bayern. Added to the dynamic was both Marios matching up against former clubs Balotelli against Liverpool and Gotze against Bayern. A thrilling contest ensued with the score tied 1-1 after the first 90 minutes. Extra Time was required. Liverpool led 3-1 with 2 minutes to play. FC Bayern scored 2 quick goals one of which scored by former Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli who equalized the game at 3-3. The was turned on its head once again in injury time when Liverpool was awarded a penalty which resulted in Steven Gerrard scoring and a 4-3 win for Liverpool.

Moose...Are you using the final community set sliders from 12/24/14?? And if so, legendary? full manual? I of course follow your vids and you have been having some great looking variety. My sliders are a mix of community, orions old ones and my input which has been good for me but Im getting antsy for some reason.

Matt, great vids. I see people are starting to complain about the sliders. Its never gonna change lol. But you cant please everyone Good to see your starting your MM. Now enjoy fifa!! Next year though, you have set the expectation that the set will be finalized by xmas eve...You can only beat that date, nothing after it.

Im a little ashamed you opened up the transfer window at the start of the season. Granted its almost time for winter transfers but Villa has played half the year with those guys you have sold...Ill get over that though

Good stuff, I really wanted wickham for liverpool but just wasnt going to see any playing time in my current rotation.

Ha, I know, man. Believe me - it was a tough choice, but I figured I'd "treat" myself to it because I had been pretty disciplined in even starting a career mode in December. Yes, trading Vlaar and Benteke were easy decisions because IRL I think they're being held back a bit at Villa. Wickham is going to be a joy - it just depends which version of him shows up for Villa. He's got the frame I want, I might have to use him less centrally as he's got great feet for a big man. Thanks fore checking them out - Episode 3 is uploading as we speak, 2 matches in it

ok so thanks to Keano16. I picked up Michelangelo Albertazzi to fill the void we had at LB. we had to pay full price on his worth, a measly $850,000, and $11,000 in wages.
66 rated. with speed, jumping, strength and tackling all in the 70's, and well rounded stats in all other areas. dribbling and ball control probably the only down side.

so, we are at deadline day in the mid season window.
me were knocked out of the Capital One Cup in the quarter finals.
still fighting in the FA Cup, but must come back from a first leg 1-0 loss to Hull City in Round 4.
                and we are sitting 7th on the table, 8 - 7 - 7. goal difference is +2
next month we should win 4/5, with the only tough game against man utd.

we also have approx. 7mill transfer budget and 70k wages.

with my best CB at the ripe age of 32, and a back up CB at 30. probably wise to invest in a young replacement for the years to come.

some of these guys are transfer listed, some are loan. I think we should try and purchase regardless.

                Marc Hornschuh, 23yrs , 63.

                the decision

A- PLEASE PICK ONE OF THESE GUYS, AND A SECONDARY PICK INCASE CONTRACT FALLS THROUGH.

                OR

B- SHOULD WE SPEND REST OF TRANSFER BUDGET ON YOUTH SCOUT, AND GET A NEW YOUNG CB NEXT SEASON??

                  Bristol City
                  Year 3, FL Championship

Year 3 at the helm of Bristol City is off to a pretty nice start. I think this squad is starting to come together, and it's all based around my 3 promising youth players. It's kind of fun to feel them getting better as I continue playing with them.

I run a 4-1-4-1, last year that led to almost all of my scoring to be from the striker up top, but now that my young guys at RM and LM are getting better/faster, they are able to attack more effectively and open up chances for themselves or others. I'm definitely developing a more balanced attack than I had in the first 2 years. Oh, and Harry Maguire, the CB from Hull I kind of broke the bank for last year, is up to a 75! I'm very happy with that purchase!

Nearing the 1/4 mark of the season, and I am pretty happy with my position.

                  TABLE:
                  1. Burnley: 6-2-0, 20 pts.
                  2. Nottingham Forest: 5-2-1, 17 pts.
                  3. Cardiff City: 5-1-2, 16 pts.
                  4. Leeds United: 5-1-2, 16 pts.
                  5. Wolverhampton: 4-3-1, 15 pts.
                  6. Huddersfield: 4-1-3, 13 pts.
                  7. Bristol City: 4-1-3, 13 pts.
                  8. Cardiff City: 4-1-3, 13 pts.

I have 3 youth scouts out right now, really focusing on keeping my Youth Academy bolstered, to keep churning out good players, rather than relying on transfers. One scout looking for physically strong players in England. Another scout looking for technically gifted players in Italy. I was going to branch out from Italy, but it's been good to me in the past, so I figured, don't fix it if it ain't broke.

I also really want the USA manager job down the road, so I bought the best scout available and sent him tom the USA, to try and unearth an American gem for me to play with for both club and country if I ever get offered the USA job

                  GOALS:
                  Kieren Agard - 3
                  Riccardo Basso* - 2
                  Daniele Balzano* - 2
                  Lee Hazeldine - 1
                  Jason Saunders - 1
                  Marley Bishop - 1
                  Jamie Winfield* - 1
                  * - Academy Players

Put together a little "highlight video" of some of my favorite goals from this season so far:

                  <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/8e5ijf4Kqos" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

-First goal is an Italian player from my Academy, LM Daniele Balzano, with a clutch finish off a FK for the game winner against Cardiff.
-Second goal is from Kieren Agard, the striker who has carried me for the last two years, haha. The first goal from that same Cardiff game. Pretty much a perfect goal for me. Perfect lobbed pass, perfect touch from Agard, and a deft finish for the goal.
-Third goal is another Italian player from my Academy, CM Riccardo Basso, in the first game of the season against Ipswich. Nice cutback to the middle and a finesse finish. Ended in a 1-1 draw
-Fourth goal is a goal from last season against Aston Villa that I accidentally added, haha.
-Fifth goal is from Riccardo Basso again. Against Blackburn in the 3rd game of the season. I was going to just waste time in the corner, only being up a goal, and Blackburn had been dominating me for the last 10 minutes. But I saw an opportunity, so I took it. And it ended up working out

N'zogbia out? Have you lost your mind? Ok those sliders have made your brain slime!

Anyways, watching the vids, I am convinced that the shot speed is just a tad too slow. Some of these shots by the cpu that are with their laces are almost floating on goal. Doesnt seem to have the crispness? to it.....

Anyways, It is MM thread. WIth your sliders Matt except for I think pass error is a tad adjusted...I had a phenominal game against cambridge in a cup match.

At home with liverpool I came out with no interest. After starting the league with 2 wins and a draw the lads came out like the were garunteed a win. I went down 2-0 in the first half. A soft gol let him by Leno as Mignolet was getting a early rest. Also my back line consisted of Clyne, Brooks, alderwielder and yedlin so my middle was soft missing varane and sakho. Second gol was drilled in off Lenos chest.

Second half comes and im attacking. Shot after shot their gol keeper is knocking the ball off the line, making fingertip saves, being the wall cambridge needs to advance. My break comes in the 55th min. Sterling down the right wing crosses the ball to a running Jese Rodriguez who catches a break as the defender fails to jump and puts a header in. 2-1. Im shooting up a storm, save, wide, post. I cant find the back of the net to equalize....

90th min plus 5, I am again playing with the life of this fa cup. My substitues were sturridge for welbeck, Jese scored and came in at the break for el sharawaay and isco came in for a carded jordan henderson in the 80th. Anyways, game is almost over i charge down through the middle, a one two with kroos. Isco is running towards the box. Kroos gets it back to the right where yedlin is over lapping sterling cutting inside....This is the final chance. I send it into the box, get a head on it..Keeper save! The ball bounces to the top of the box, the whistle in the refs mouth by now waiting for the ball to cross 30 yards. Top of the box kroos fires in a shot, deflects off a defender, isco gets the rebound at the spot, gets it to his right foot and DRILLS it in the side netting! 2-2. Kick off, whistle blows....The boys have stole the momentum and are ready for the extra time.

No question, between the extra time I put in 4 gols, one being a penalty. I had used a couple reserves and subs to get a win. Using managerial skill to grab the equalizer and take control in the extra periods.

I ended with 23 shots, 16 on target to cambridges 9 shots 4 on target. Once they lost the lead in extra time early, they were sprinting forward leaving break after break for my guys.

I shouldve won in regular time though. I missed some clear cut chances with coutinho, welbeck and jese.

With that being said tho...MATT, do you think gk ability could be tuned to 48 maybe? That first gol I let in was almost so soft it was a joke. I almost wanted to get off the 46 immediately since that was the first game I used your sliders almost exactly and had gk that low. I usually play with it around 60.

It's funny you mention shot speed, OFB - I actually was messing around with it last night as well. I didn't consider that the shot speed at 49 will most likely need an adjustment because the shot error is at 52 - so shots will not be always as pure, but when they do - they do need to have that "crisp".

The rub though is the GK ability. Think about GK ability in relation to the speed of the shot. By default, GK's have a psychic reaction in FIFA. The goal here is if the shot speed is 49, then the GK Ability (reaction speed) should be slightly less because this will result in slight deflections, finger tip saves, etc. My issue with the GK animations, from time to time, is the behind the goal saves - like the Guzan save in 9:26 of that video of episode 3. If the shot speed was a bit higher, no way would that animation have occured.

So my suggestion - and my testing - will be to put shot speed at 51 - i'll update the OS Sliders thread to advise everyone what I'm testing. I too need that crisp shot from time to time. So good looking out.

Nice match there, man. You've got quite the squad it sounds like. Sounds like you just tired them out and they kept pushing forward. Looking forward to the next update - who's next?

The rub though is the GK ability. Think about GK ability in relation to the speed of the shot. By default, GK's have a psychic reaction in FIFA. The goal here is if the shot speed is 49, then the GK Ability (reaction speed) should be slightly less because this will result in slight deflections, finger tip saves, etc. My issue with the GK animations, from time to time, is the behind the goal saves - like the Guzan save in 9:26 of that video of episode 3. If the shot speed was a bit higher, no way would that animation have occured.

I go back into league play against Swansea and then hit champs league I believe against BVB.

Im in my 4th season playing 10 min halves so yea the squad changed. Its taken 4 years to get who I think will push for the EPL title. Finished 4th, 3rd and 3rd in the last 3 season only winning the FA cup against an unstoppable chelsea last year and the Euro cup last year.

Gerrard retired after the first season, enrique was just not keeping pace with what I needed and Moreno has been class. Yedlin and Clyne replaced johnson which looking at it was a mistake, i personally liked Glen but was offered too much to resist.

Skrtel was a liability so Varane was a not so expensive purchase the second year. Casemiro and Jese came in beginning third year as leiva and allen were struggling. Isco was a huge purchase that I thought could push me to the title in 3rd season but that didnt work out...This 4th year has been brooks, El sharawaay and Kroos.

I didnt wanna spend that much money, but my stupid bro gifted me the manager takeover (which was auto applied to my MM) and thought to myself.....Ive finished 4th, 3rd and 3rd. The owners are getting antsy for me to win champs league and league title...So im going to PRETEND that they have trust in me and emptied their pockets to see league sucess. If I dont win atleast the league or champs league, im considering Taking a job elsewhere if im not fired after they spent 72 mil before this season started and I made those calls.

Also, yea, I hear ya on shot speed. Im thinking 51 and then gk maybe 48 or keeping at 46 and giving it a few games. Stuff happens and it was Leno in gol instead of my 92 +2 Mignolet.

Ended up getting 15 for Christmas (late, yes) and I have toyed around with several different career modes. I have one with Atletico Madrid.. bought Paul Pogba for 38M and Yaya Toure for if I do remember correctly 20M+Gabi. Currently first in La Liga, won the SuperCup de Espana and also beat Real in the derby. Thats fun for a tester but I also want a challenge. Last year I did a MM with Bolton. Bought James Ward-Prowse from Southampton, won the Championship, and even made it to the FA Cup final vs Arsenal (somehow beat Chelsea in the quarterfinals...) but lost when I made it to the top on a 5-4 aggregate. I thought about doing them again this year but I think ive decided to just start one up with Southampton. With their great abundance of youngsters with high potential and having just bought some guys like Pelle I think it would be a blast.

I like those signings, definitely more aggressive than Liverpool's current manager - but then again, he may not receive the bro's manager takeover lol.

I settled on 51 shot speed and remained 46 GK. Works great. Had two matches, uploading as we speak.
