Only a few matches in and still trying to suss out the trigger stuff. Like said a few posts ago, long sprints will cause it. This might be the "random" players you are feeling. After my cpu-controlled right back made a long sprinting run up the sideline and received a thru pass he was trigger heavy. Once I had control I could see his sprint stamina bar was about halfway, even if his overall stamina was still fairly high. I think that's a smart use of the system and has me sprinting a little less.

One thing I caught that appears to be a real miss was I had a player get a knock. It did not seem to affect his triggers which is a real oversight. That is the perfect scenario for a temporary hindrance on his movement as he shakes off the injury. Gives the user something to think about regarding a sub given the game situation. It was that same RB, so if I had 5-10 game minutes of restricted movement (that could also gradually lessen) and was defending a pacey, tricky winger I might need to sub immediately even if he will run it off.

I'm getting a handle on this. It appears to be directly related to the stamina bar. So on a gut busting run you're going to feel the triggers lock up or if the collective fatigue of a player has his bar at half way you're going to feel it.

A few things shot out at me in regards to the haptic feedback on the triggers:

Late first half I send Salah on a through ball run. He uses his speed to get onto the ball and hit the byline. I stop, hit the L2 trigger to try to protect and pivot back to put a ball in the lane for the trailing Firmino and the trigger is tight because Salah is gassed from his run. a few seconds later the triggers are eased becuase he has regained stamina.

TAA late in the second is tired and the triggers are tight. Sub on James Milner (by no means fast) and the triggers are loose again.

Finally I'm seeing more of an impact on the AI as well. Late game I sub Firmino off for Minamino straight swap in the middle. Minamino is fast and he gets a step on an exhausted (1/2 to 1/4 stamina bar) De Ligt. De Ligt tries to force the smaller Minamino off the ball as he goes through but appears to be too tired and once Minamino has that yard of space, a tired De Ligt, even facing the right way isn't catching up, nor was his partner in the middle who was tired as well. Genuinely felt good.

I'm still not certain if this is gimmicky or not, but especially late game it seems to have some genuine impact which potentially makes substitutions feel more impactful.

Fifer has the best tool and people are already making mods for that tool. Even Paul released his gameplay mod using both tools.

I love the game, it's definitely one of the best sports games of all time imo.

However, i did not receive my deluxe edition packs. Has anyone heard of anyone else not receiving them? Are the bonus packs only for last gen or are they for next gen too?

You have two options for the trigger feedback. There is a setting in the FIFA menus to turn it off. I don't think it's in controller settings but rather game settings... because of course!

Also, in the PS5 devices settings you can set the trigger effect intensity from strong (default), medium to low. I went down to medium and think I prefer that since they aren't quite so tight. On strong it almost locked up and clicked before releasing... Worried I was going to break the damn thing!

You can do it for vibration as well but on medium you don't really feel the movement/ball striking feedback only the celebrations and stuff.

You can be honest, you lowered it because your finger strength is laughably low. Get back in the gym Drago.

I am so horrible at this game. I can't play defense at all.

My opponents in online seasons average 89790707070 shots on goal a game. They can pretty much run to the goal at will. I even tried liverpool and it seems my defenders are too slow to keep up and they just get ran past.
