I had two highlights for this update for you guys but it turns out both videos uploaded from horrible angles where you can't really appreciate the beauty of the goals so no videos, sorry. One of the highlights was Scott's last minute goal against Notts County where he beat two defenders to the ball near the top of the box on the left side and fired a beautiful cross shot that went in near the goalie's left post. As it turns out that was even bigger than what it felt like at the moment because it was our only win in the league this month The other highlight was Escalante's goal against Tranmere Rovers, an outstanding volley from about 27 yards out off a clear out that also went across the goal, this time from the goalie's left to the right. Yet another penalty shutout in which Derbyshire didn't make any stops but the opponents simply missed on their own. The friendlies were fun, Messi nearly won the game by himself as he also assisted the second goal by keeping a ball from going out of bounds then crossing a perfect arc to Piatti for a header near the small box. I played all my subs vs Ivory Coast to get a better feel for the other players (that's what friendlies are for, right?) and confirmed Peru's depth is screwed. Three straight draws to end the month, including two against two fellow recently promoted League Two teams, has put me in a difficult situation because as you can see it's very crowded after Barnsley with only 3 points separating 2nd place from 7th place (Sheffield Utd). The good news is Valencia is starting to break out and now has 5 goals (4 in the league). Osei is quietly starting to get into rhythm also now with 5 assists (4 in the league, tied for 2nd best)

I mentioned in my last update that some players had been giving me grief about their playing time so I tried my best to get them on the pitch and a couple of them seem to now be pleased while my two main backup CB's have confirmed that they would like to be moved, Ian Gayle requesting to go out on loan and Brian Saah requesting to be sold. Moving them will barely hit me since my starting CB's never come off the pitch and the backup RB and LB can fill in if needed, plus my best prospect projects as a CB as well. Derbyshire has done well but it seems he won't be progressing right away as he's just 16 so I may consider bringing in someone better for a short period of time until he starts progressing. At this point he's the lowest rated player on my starting XI after Scott, who plays well above his rating.

We did get some additional funds for advancing in the J. Paint Trophy and we decided to send out one more scout, this one to South Korea. No report from him yet but we did get a second report from our scout in Peru, again with just one player who we'll continue to scout as we consider whether we want to sign him to the academy. I want to send my third scout to the United States but I'll have to wait a bit for some more funds.

Here's my academy at the moment.

    - Jamie Black (GK, 51-55 OVR, 72-78 POT): An intriguing 17 Y/O prospect from Scotland who stands at 6'7", 194lbs. I hope he doesn't request to be signed before May.
    - Kagetoki Miyoshi (DEF, 57-61, 79-85): 16 Y/O kid from Japan who I expect will be a LB with a better fit at CB. I may not be able to wait until May to promote him if I get too thin at CB.
    - Stefan Reichel (CDM, 51-55, 69-73): 16 Y/O from Germany needs at least another season in the academy.
    - Kenneth Hansen (Winger, 47-49, 68-72): 15 Y/O from Denmark may need two more seasons in the academy.
    - Manuel Burchert (CM, 46-48, 69-73): 16 Y/O from Germany who I though would have higher potential. Needs to wait one or two more seasons.
    - Dario Verdejo (???, 45-55, 72-88): 16 Y/O from Peru is the newest addition to the squad. We're still trying to sort out his position.
    * Denotes recent addition to the Y.A.

    Any questions/comments let me know!

To be honest I don't find it as interesting and exciting as when I first started up.

I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience, but I need a break.

I will probably return in a few weeks, or potentially even sooner.

I won't be completely gone though. I will still leave a like and give some feedback.

I have very little time to play, let alone update, as my job isn't one were you can sit around talking about FIFA.

Again I am terribly sorry but I've made my decision.

      Good luck to everyone here.

Also if anyone wants to take to do the Accrington career I'm fine with that.

BTW just so Texas knows I beat Morcombe 5-0 haha.

It was a VERY tough decision but my mind is made up .

      I'll see ya around

      Byeee.
It happens to us all from time to time. I've been a bit inactive lately mostly because I've been busy travelling (now in Dortmund, so guten morgen all). But I have taken time away from FIFA and updates because it gets stale, you'll come back to it later when you feel ready. Like others have said, don't rush it.

I've been trying to get my Malaga career going, but it just didn't happen. I think I'm slightly too in love with English football, but I really don't want another career in England. So I did the next best thing and chose a foreign club with ties to England. I've played through to deadline day, and I think I've finally found a club/storyline I enjoy, and it's in one of my favourite cities in the world! Feels a lot like the start of my Brighton career.

I'll wrap up the rest of September after a long bike ride through Westfalenpark and then watching the Dortmund-Liverpool game at the pub. Hopefully by then, I'll be confident enough with the career to update here. Sorry to keep you all in suspense.

Good news bad news at Alcorcon.

Good: you know how I mentioned in my last update that I need to beat the crap out of someone? Check. Finally had a 4-goal outburst.

Bad: I'm pretty sure the next 5 games are against the top 5 teams in the standings, of course including games vs Barca and RM. Lord have mercy.

              Press Conference

Pretty good results in the league which got you to second place. What's your opinion on them?

Yes, they are good but we are too inconsistent. We lost to Real Madrid in August, then we destroyed Celta and after that we barely beat Espanyol. When you want to reach a top four spot you need to be consistent and you need to defend well. We can't let a right back score a bicycle kick when there are three defenders literally next to him. We have been working on our defending in trainings and it's improving little by little. Our attacking has been good but not critical enough. The players are working on that.

You have established a youth academy. Will you be scouting only Basques?

In the beginning, yes. When we get more money the club will send scouts to other countries as well to find top talents.

Isn't that against Bilbao's cantera policy?

No, it's not. According to our policy and working style we can sign Basque players and players who have been trained in Basque regions.

When will we see players from the U-17 squad in the first team?

Our deadline is next year's Christmas. We should have at least two players from the academy in the team by then. The kids need to improve first and prove their qualities.

Athletic Club's signings haven't really impressed yet. Will this change?

We made three signings. Markel (Bergara) is a quality player and he has been playing well for us. Javi (Ros) hasn't played that much but he has huge potential in him. Stephane (Ruffier) in the other hand hasn't adapted well yet. I trust him completely and I'm sure he'll improve soon. If he doesn't I will have to look at other options.

Thank you for reading the post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback and suggestions will be appreciated!

Some serious career mode funk on my end, guys. Been trying out Genoa, not really feeling that either. I even took a break and played some FUT, but my mind keeps getting stuck on career mode. Not really sure if there's something wrong with the game, or if I'm just too obsessed with playing in England.

Help me out here folks. Do I stick it out with Genoa? The other clubs I'm considering are Montpellier, Saint Etienne, Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

EDIT: To counter the negativity, let's celebrate 400 pages!

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

On the Sporting CP front it is going pretty nice.

After 21 games we are sitting 2nd behind Benfica (7 points!) and in front of Porto (4 points).

Transfer window came and I did bring in:

                  -Alexandre Pato
                  -Mateo Kovacic <3
                  -Gabriel (Botafogo)

                  Sold:
-Adrien Silva to City for 21 million, which is quite a good chunk of money .

The season ending will be very interesting and I cannot drop much more points... But will be fair, doubt I will win it as Benfica is on fire. Och and I still have got the offer from Monaco . Wonder if I should accept it at end of season or keep going with Sporting?!

                  What you guys think?

If you aren't enjoying a career there is no reason to keep it going. I'm a bit sad because you didn't do the Malaga career but that's in the past now. Maybe try putting an interesting team in the English leagues if you like playing in England? Or just do a career in a different country like Argentina.

From the teams you listed I would love to see a career with Montpellier. When they won the Ligue 1 few years ago it was spectacular and showed us once again how amazing football is. Then the players were bought and they didn't get replaced, just like every time a smaller team does well. Since then the club hasn't been able to reach higher finish than ninth. It would be nice to see them win the league again.

If you don't want to play outside England you could try out Burnley or Yeovil Town from the Championship. Burnley would be interesting because they got promoted in real life.

Hellas Verona from the Serie A could be interesting. They have a poor budget but their squad is good and they had a good season.

Yeah he is immense. Used him before, but having got William Carvahlo still in the team, he will be my backup .

Shame I sold Rui Patricio and Moreno in first transfer window, bought wrong Mitrovic too .

And my wingers are in need of replacement, even though I like Capel irl. Carillo is half decent, but speed wise, not so much. Hope he improves.

Will be tough next season if I go to Europe . Thus I might accept AS Monaco offer, or just go all the way out with Sporting haha.

                          SEASON 4

Centre Back Pair Shipped Out on Loan
Felipe Santana and Curtis Good have left the club on loan to Manchester United and Aston Villa respectively.

                          French Striker Leaves
Nolan Roux has left Newcastle to join Genoa for £7 million on a 3 year deal.

                          Long term target finally signed
Germany and Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has agreed a deal to join Newcastle United for the 2016-17 campaign. The fee is for £25 million and Jamie is delighted with the move, as he is publicly an admirer of the midfielder. He can play in an attacking role of in a deeper role, which where he is expected to be utilised along side fellow German Ilkay Gundogan.

                          Oscar 85
In a dull curtain raiser to the new season, Oscar won it late on with a finish on the rebound of Paloschi's strike.

                          Match 1

                          Arsenal 0-1 Newcastle

                          A Quick New Forward
Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge has moved to Newcastle for £19 million on £120,000 a week contract. He is thought to have been signed as Jamie has been alerted to stricter rulings on home grown players. Expect more British signings.

                          One for the Future
Scottish Chelsea forward Islam Feruz has joined Newcastle for £1 million on £10,000 a week contract.

                          Match 2

                          A High Quality Full Back
Everton left back Luke Garbutt has joined Newcastle for £18 million + Marcel Schmelzer. Garbutt is younger and arguably of a higher quality but neither side will feel they got the bad end of the deal.

                          Copa Europe

                          Newcastle 2-1 FC Porto

                          Sanchez 67
                          Walter 84

Paloschi curled in the opener and Sanchez was played through to smash home. Walter curled in for Porto late on but it wasn't enough for the Portuguese side.

                          Another Striker?
Zambian forward Emmanuel Mayuka has left Southampton to join Newcastle for a fee of £7 million + Victor Ibarbo. Ibarbo was signed last season but was largely a flop, failing to make a significant impact on the team.

                          Match 3

                          QPR 1-2 Newcastle
                          Varane 12
                          Austin 48
                          Mayuka 58

Varane headed in the opener but Austin volleyed in an equaliser. New signing Mayuka won it after rounding the keeper to slot into the empty net.

                          Begovic Leaves
Want-away keeper Asmir Begovic has left Newcastle for a £17.5 million fee to Liverpool. This has confused many, including Jamie as a deal had been reached with Manchester City for £26.5 million.

                          He Has Been Replaced
Poland number 1 Lukasz Skorupski has joined Newcastle for £15.5 million deal from Roma. He is a direct replacement for Asmir Begovic and the Newcastle faithful will welcome one of the best keepers in football to their club.

                          A Central Defensive trio
English centre backs, Leo Chambers, Phil Jones and John Stones have all joined Newcastle for fees of £1.7 million for Chambers and Stones and £16 million for Jones.

                          Strength in depth
French defensive midfielder Yann M'Vila has joined Newcastle for £9 million on a 3 year deal. Yaya Sanogo has also been signed on loan from Arsenal for the season.

                          Press Conference

Can you explain what happened with Asmir Begovic?

No I really can't. I just don't understand. Why the board have made such a ridiculous decision is beyond me. I had lined up a £26.5 million fee for the player and the board just go and sell him behind my back for £17 million. It makes no sense. It's a loss for everyone. Me, Mike Ashley, the transfer budget, the club, Manchester City even Asmir. City were willing to pay more than Liverpool were but the board go and sell him on.

Can you explain your signings? Many are confused as to why you bought so many players

Depth mostly. M'Vila, Mayuka and Sanogo will be players that can slot into the starting 11 whenever they are needed. I admire Kroos as a player and I am so glad I was able to secure the deal. Skorupski caught my eye in both the Champions League semi finals against Roma, but mainly in the Euro 2016 final when he kept us out for most of the game. The three centre backs along with Sturridge, Garbutt and Feruz are all homegrown and will help us to comply with those rules. I plan on using Sturridge on the wing.

                            S.S. Lazio Career Mode

                            End of August

                            Lazio 0 - Udinese 0
A fairly boring and even match. Both sides had a reasonable amount of chances but Federico Marchetti and Zeljko Brkic kept their sides in the game with some excellent saves. The Lazio squad was boosted by the arrival of Antonio Candreva but it seems this Lazio side will be plagued by injuries as Miroslav Klose suffered a broken ankle and will be out for 3 months.

                            End of August Press Conference
Mr. OJ, in your first competetive match as manager of Lazio you beat Juventus and won the Supercoppa Italiana, how do you feel?

Mr. OJ - I thought the boys were outstanding. Everyone pulled their weight and I felt we deserved to take the win. Of course it feels good to bring in some silverware in your first season but we still have a lot of work to do. This season is going to be a difficult one but if we play like we did earlier then we could be a real threat this season.

Antonio Candreva made his return in the 0-0 draw with Udinese but Miroslav Klose picked up an injury which will put him out for 3 months. Your thoughts please?

Mr. OJ - Its great to have Antonio back as he really improves our attack and brings a senior player which is great for the young lads in our squad. Of course its terrible to lose Miro as he would've been central to our attack and the young lads would've picked up a lot from him. However every could has a silver lining and we have Helder Postiga another very experienced attacked who we can spearhead out attack with. We should be fine .

Your next game is a repeat of the Supercoppa match against Juventus. Will you change the way you play?

Mr. OJ - Well, we've lost Miro of course but Antonio is back. We will have to change the side a little to accomodate for these two but the core of the side will be unchanged.

Finally your group for the Europa league has been decided. Your are with Esbjerg fB, FC Nordsjaelland and St Johnstone. How do you feel about this group?

Mr. OJ - Esbjerg are a decent side and they showed that through pre-season as are Nordsjaelland. St Johnstone also showed they are a good side at home. The group could have been so much worse but as it is I feel we can top the group as long as we play well. Thanks guys.

                            September

                            Juventus 3 - Lazio 1
                            Tevez (23, 87)
                            Iturbe (36)
                            Pepe (64)

A repeat of the Supercoppa Italia saw Juventus, this time take the spoils as they destroyed Lazio in an exhibition of attacking football. Carlos Tevez scored an outstanding individual goal early before Juan Manuel Iturbe equalised. Going into half time both teams were still very much in the game however Simone Pepe tapped in a cross from Tevez before the Argentinian turned goal scorer once more as he headed in from close range.
Man of the Match - Carlos Tevez - Juventus

                            Lazio 2 - Chievo 0
                            Candreva (53)
                            Diao Keita (76)

Lazio took the 3 points as they defeated Chievo 2-0. The first half was an open affair with both teams creating goal scoring chances and having an even share of possession. However the second half was entirely different with Lazio dominating possession and creating many chances. Antonio Candreva was put through by Jorginho and blasted the ball into the top right corner. Balde Diao Keita scored a hugely similar goal later on when he was also put thorugh by Jorginho, rounded the keeper and tapped in from close range.
Man of the Match - Jorginho

                            Europa League - Lazio 0 - Nordsjaelland 0
An incredibly even affair with very few chances created. Nordsjaelland parked the bus and defended for their lives while often catching Lazio on the counter attack. Lazio held the ball well and passed wth purpose however they simply could not put the ball in the back of the net. Lazio now sit 2nd in the group and Nordsjaelland 3rd.
Man of the Match - Lorik Cana

                            Roma 0 - Lazio 1
                            Postiga (49)
One of the best games of the season so far. An outstanding match with both sides attacking for the full 90 minutes. Roma created the majority of the chances early on before Lazio found their feet and began attacking like they did last season. They caught Roma on the break early on in the second half and from this counter came a corner. Stefan Radu whipped the ball in and Helder Postiga headed in, out-jumping Leandro Castan. Roma attacked with everything but were unable to find the net. What a game.
Man of the Match - Luis Pedro Cavanda - Lazio

                            Lazio 0 - Catania 1
                            Lodi (50)
A fairly boring match with both sides keeping the ball and moving it around well. The game sparked to life in the 50th minute when Francesco Lodi blasted a 24 yard free-kick into the back of the net. He later had one bang against the bar and could have made it 2-0.
Man of the Match - Francesco Lodi - Catania

                            Sassuolo 1 - Lazio 1
                            Iturbe (33)
                            Berardi (87)

Sassuolo and Lazio each took their share of the spoils in this incredibly one sided game. Lazio dominated for 86 minutes but could not convert chances into goals. Juan Manuel Iturbe scored early on after being put through by Alvaro Gonzalez and slotting into the left corner. It appeared Lazio would take all three points only for Domenico Berardi to round Marchetti and equalize the score. Balde Diao Keita picked up an LCL which will put him out for 3 months.
Man of the Match - Juan Manuel Iturbe

                            End of September Press Conference
Mr. OJ, you currently sit 9th with a record of 2-2-2, your thoughts please.

Mr. OJ - It think we have made a good start to the season and we still have plenty of time to move up the table. Of course maybe we should have taken wins from some of the other matches but as far as I'm concerned the boys have made an excellent start and we can only get better.

Currently, two key players, Klose and Keita are injured. How do you think you will do when you have a full strength side?

Mr. OJ - I think that we will have one of the best sides in the league when these guys come back. I feel that our team will be able to win the league and be successful in Europe also. Of course I have huge amounts to do with this team before I feel I have done my job but currently we are on the right track.

Your next game is against St Johnstone in the Europa League, do you thinks you can win this game?

Mr. OJ - I feel we can beat every team in Europe with a full strength side. I think St Johnstone are a decent side but if we play well we should take the 3 points.

Finally, how do you feel your signings have played in their opening month with Lazio

Mr. OJ - I think Stefan (Savic) has been outstanding and has formed a great partnership with Lorik (Cana). I hope he will be with us for a long time and I'd like to oversee his development into the player I hope he will be. Juan (Iturbe) has been one of our best players so far and has already started his development into one of our best players. He has really filled Miro's shoes as out goalscorer while Miro has been injured. Jorginho has cemented his place in the heart of out midfield along with Nenad (Krsticic) and they have both shown that along with Ogenyi (Onazi) they could form one of the best midfield trio's in the world in the coming years. Thanks guys.

Player of the Month - Lorik Cana - Cana has been one of the best defenders in the league so far and along with Stefan Savic forms one of the strongest partnerships in league.

Got damm it you stole my line again.

If you can't play abroad then just stay in England.
I have the exact same problem.
The only way I can do a career away from England is a super league, although super league's get boring for me when you reach the point of having a Champions League quarter final vs Hull City.

Out of those potential candidates I think Blackburn would be the most enjoyable.
