Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Holy ****ing ****, those transfers. They are quite something lol.
I`m personally not a huge fan of reamping teams so badly but I do think that in FIFA, it makes things really interesting. Your team is certainly one of a kind, but now, I am going to pressure you, you gotta win it all now, if you don`t with that team, then you might aswell call it a failure. lol :P
@jamiec47 You are really fighting for those top spots, it is going to be close, so no slipups and I can see you going next season, keep it up!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Right now there is one option I'm thinking about and that is Alexandre Lacazette. Yes, I'm thinking about bringing him back. Another option is Rodrigo from Benfica. The problem is that I want my striker to be fast and on top of that all of the good strikers are old.-Simppu12-

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Ha Ho He
Warning! The following transfers are extremely unrealistic and they may not make sense!
Transfers Out
Sergio Aguero
88 Ovr, Striker, 28 Years Old, Argentina
€90,000,000
Hertha BSC sold two players this transfer window and both of them left for a big amount of money. The cheaper one of them was Sergio Aguero, who was sold for a fee of ninety million euros which makes him the third most expensive transfer ever completed. He was bought by FC Barcelona where he will form a partnership with his fellow countryman Lionel Messi.
Hakan Calhanoglu
85 Ovr, Attacking Midfielder, 23 Years Old, Turkey
€100,000,000
The second and last player Hertha sold was the fan-favourite midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu. The player joined in the summer of 2015 and he has been an important piece of Hertha's attack and midfield since then. The fans were really sad to see him join a fellow Bundesliga side Bayern München who are also fighting for the title. The huge amount of 100 million euros makes the Turkish player the second most expensive football ever.
Transfers In
Mats Hummels
86 Ovr, Centre Back, 28 Years Old, Germany
Bosman Signing
This transfer window the side from Berlin focused on signing mainly German players and they got two of them on a Bosman signing which means that the players will join in the summer when their contracts run out. The other of the players signed for free was the German world class defender Mats Hummels who has been an important player for the back lines of both club and country. Hummels is a really talented defender who is tall, strong and a really good tackler who also can head the ball really well. It's unknown why Borussia Dortmund didn't offer him a contract extension.
Marco Reus
87 Ovr, Left Midfielder, 27 Years Old, Germany
Bosman Signing
The second Bosman signing Hertha BSC made was another German star who plays for Borussia Dortmund, Marco Reus. The fast and attacking minded winger is a really good player who has been linked with teams like FC Barcelona and Manchester United in the past years. Reus is fast and he has a really good shot which makes him a really dangerous player. Like in Hummels' case, it was really surprising that his contract wasn't extended.
Toni Kroos
85 Ovr, Central Midfielder, 27 Years Old, Germany
€2,000,000 + Miralem Pjanic
This surprising deal saw Toni Kroos join the Berliners for two million and the deal included Miralem Pjanic moving to Madrid. Pjanic started the season well, getting two goals and two assists in the first month but since then the midfielder contributed by barely nothing. Kroos will now take his role as the more attacking holding midfielder which suits him well. The German midfielder, who used to play for Bayern München before joining Real Madrid, is a great passer of the ball with his incredible vision. Kroos can also shoot well from range.
Alexis Sanchez
84 Ovr, Right Winger, 28 Years Old, Chile
€36,000,000
Hertha BSC bought a world class winger with the leftover money from the two sold players. Alexis Sanchez is the man who is meant to take care of the Berliners' winger problems. He joined for just under forty million euros from Real Madrid only six four months after joining the Spanish giants. The Chilean attacker can play everywhere in attack and he is fast, skillful and he is a great finisher.
Mario Götze
89 Ovr, Attacking Midfielder, 24 Years Old, Germany
€50,000,000
The replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu will be no other than Mario Götze himself. The traitor who scored the World Cup winning goal. Now the young and talented midfielder who is already world class will join the third title contender, just in the age of 24. Bayern agreed to sell their midfielder for fifty million euros as they bought Hakan Calhanoglu to play that position. Götze can play every position in attack and he is a quick player who is also a good passer.
Luis Suarez
89 Ovr, Striker, 30 Years Old, Uruguay
€50,000,000
The second player who Hertha bought from Bayern München was the striker Luis Suarez. The attacker joined Barcelona in 2014 for about ninety million but two years later he left to join the German giants. Now he will play for another big German team. Suarez cost Hertha only €50 million which is a great price for a wonderful player. Sadly there have been few scandals floating around the player, including his biting accident in the 2014 World Cup.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
I have to update the CD Lugo CM. It came down to the wire for CD and and Real Vellaloid battling for the second place promotion spot. We couldn't pull it out so we had to battle in the playoffs for the third promotion spot. The team should tremendous toughness and stamina to win and survive four games in a period of about eight days.
This is the cm that I am converting this team too all my youth academy players. Right now I about 16 more players to get rid of. I also have a good unit of youth players that I have promoted that show so promise. It will be interesting to see how we fare in Spain's top leagueCurrently playing: (In order of Most Time)

Everton Career Mode
If you want to see the team roster, click HERE! It will be updated when there are any long-term injuries that scale to the next month, transfer or anything like that.
Month of February - Start high; end low
GAMES
Everton 3-0 Liverpool
63' Ross Barkley (EVE)
68' Samuel Eto'o (EVE)
85' Danny Ings (EVE)
Previous game(s): Liverpool 3-2 Everton
The month of February would start with a bang, as it would be the second Merseyside derby. It was not a small game aswell, as it was the third place team against the fifth place team, with only a 3 point difference.
The game started off one sided, as Liverpool was constantly pressuring Everton. At the end of the half, Tim Howard had made 9 saves, while Everton had only had 2 shots on target. Things were looking bad.
The second half started off with Mario Balotelli hitting the post. It seemed like it was only a matter of time when Liverpool would score. However, a screamer from Ross Barkley gave the Toffees the lead. Few minutes later, a costly error from Moreno sends Eto'o 1-on-1 with the keeper, who made sure to put it away.
However, something bad happened aswell. When Lukaku got subbed in, he got tackled in the box and injured. The doctors later determined that it he sprained his ankle and he would miss the games for the rest of the month.
Lukaku got then subbed for Ings, who managed to score a goal and make the final score 3-0. A great game between 2 great teams, making the race to the top ever more interesting.
Chelsea 2-3 Everton
2' Edinson Cavani (CHE)
34', 45' Samuel Eto'o (EVE)
85' Andre Schürrle (CHE)
90' Steven Naismith (EVE)
Previous game(s): Everton 2-1 Chelsea
After beating one of the giants, the Toffees went to Stamford Bridge to face a team they defeated earlier in the season, Chelsea. Another very vital 3 points were in this game, as Chelsea were in the second place spot.
However, the new man for the Blues, Edinson Cavani scored a goal straight off kick-off. While it did look as if Chelsea was going to score more, it never happened, as Tim Howard was having another monster game.
Yet then, the ex-Chelsea man scored 2 and Everton were leading. The game got really interesting, both teams were fighting with passion. Matic had a great chance to tie the game up, yet hte shot hit the post.
It was none other than the super-sub Andre Schürrle, who tied the game up with 5 minutes to go to the end. The last chance of the game however fell to Everton, when Barkleys' great through pass towards Naismith gave him a chance to score, which he did. Everton took another win and another 3 points to keep fighting for the CL spot.
Crystal Palace 3-4 Everton
23' Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain (EVE)
29' Marouane Chamakh (CRY)
41', 58' Umut Bulut (CRY)
62' Kevin Mirallas (EVE)
66' Damien Delaney (CRY) (OG)
72' Danny Ings (EVE)
Previous game(s):
Everton 3-2 Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace 3-3 Everton
Everton 3-2 Crystal Palace
Everton only had 3 league games on the month of February, and the last one was going to be against none other than Crystal Palace, making that their forth game against eachother this season.
The game started rather well for Everton, being the first ones to score, as The Ox got past 2 defenders and scored. They were not ahead for long, as Crystal came back with a punch, scoring 3 of their own to take a lead. Everton was stunned.
However, after Mirallas scored a goal and Delaney scored an own-goal, Everton were back in it yet again. The train could not be stopped, as Danny Ings got on the scoresheet aswell, making the game 4-3 and getting Everton another valuable 3 points.
Anderlecht 4-3 Everton
24' Andy Najar (AND)
32' Dennis Praet (AND)
38' Steven Naismith (EVE)
59' Samuel Eto'o (EVE)
68' Steven Naismith (EVE)
75' Steven Defour (AND)
90' Matias Suarez (AND)
After a great 3 games, Everton had a Europa league game ahead. They were going to face the team that dropped out of CL, Anderlecht. While most people thought Everton would be the favorites, things certainly played out differently early on.
Anderlecht took a two-goal lead and it looked like they were going to run away with it. Everton managed to score 3 back and take the lead. However, when Steven Defour was left open on a corner, he made sure to put it away and tie the game up yet again.
The final chance of the game was for Anderlecht. After an Everton corner, Matias Suarez got a chance to counter attack. He got passed the Everton defense and scored, giving Anderlecht a late win. The game ended 4-3 for the home team. Everton did not feel too badly though, as they now had to face Anderlecht at Goodison.
Tottenham Hotspurs 5-4 Everton
6' Christian Eriksen (TOT)
9' Sylvain Distin (EVE)
12' Paulinho (TOT)
36' Leighton Baines (EVE)
58' Sedyou Doumbia (TOT)
61' Darron Gibson (EVE)
64' Kevin Mirallas (EVE)
73', 81' Sedyou Doumbia (TOT)
Previous game(s):
Tottenham Hotspurs 2-1 Everton
After the loss at Europa league, Everton had another away game and another cup game, as they faced Tottenham in the FA Cup. Last time at White Hart Lane, Everton lost 2-1. They were hoping for a different game this time.
Yet it started the same way. Eriksen got on the scoreboard very early. However, a corner and Distin tied the game up 3 minutes later. Another 3 minutes later, Paulinho was at the right place at the right time.
The goalscoring stopped for a bit. It got restarted as Baines hit a beautiful free-kick past Hugo Lloris to tie the game up. The substitute off the bench, Doumbia, also scored, but it didn`t stop the Toffees, as quick 2 goals gave them the lead.
However, nobody knew that Doumbia was not done. He scored another 2 to take the lead and to finish his hat-trick coming off the bench. Everton were knocked out of the FA Cup by the team that they will face in the Capital One cup final.
Everton 2-2 Anderlecht
13' Samuel Eto'o (EVE)
23' Danny Ings (EVE)
39' Steven Defour (AND)
50' Matias Suarez (AND)
Previous games:
Anderlecht 4-3 Everton
The last game of the month was an important one in Goodison. Everton needed to win to go on to the next round of the Europa league. The Toffees were ready and Goodison Park was electric.
It started off promising, as both Eto'o and Ings gave Everton a two goal lead. It didn`t stay long like that, as Anderlecht scored two back, giving them the aggregate advantage.
While both teams were going at it, neither team had a good chance to take the lead. While one team didn`t need it, Everton was really seeking for the third goal. The best chance then came in the 90th minute, from a corner. As everybody was in the box, the goalkeeper himself, Tim Howard got a chance to header the ball, but it hit the crossbar.
With that, the game finished 2-2, yet the aggregate score was 6-5, and Anderlecht went on to the next round in the Europa league. It was a sad moment at Goodison.
Premier League table
1. Manchester United -- 61 points
2. Chelsea -- 54 points
3. Liverpool -- 51 points
4. Everton -- 48 points
5. Manchester City -- 48 points
6. Arsenal -- 47 points
-----
18. Leicester City -- 20 points
19. Sunderland -- 17 points
20. Hull City -- 12 points
----
Like the title says, the month started absolutely perfectly, yet getting kicked out of two cups doesn`t help.
I kinda feel like not having Lukaku for the month did play an important role, but I still think the problem is defensively, I am just bad at defending.
The next game will be the Capital One cup final against Tottenham, hopefully I can get revenge and get atleast a trophy in my first season. I am doubting that I will catch up to Manchester United, but you never know.
Please, leave any feedback or questions if you want, I hope you had a good read!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Ha Ho He
February 2017
VfB Stuttgart 0 - 3 Hertha BSC
Suarez 45', 79', 89'
Mainz 05 1 - 0 Hertha BSC
Okazaki 51'
Hertha BSC 1 - 0 Borussia Dortmund
Götze 10'
This match-up between two big sides was surprisingly boring. Neither team had that many chances to score and at the end Mario Götze's goal in the tenth minute won the game for the home side. The attacking midfielder dribbled in the box and he took a shot which got deflected in the net by Mats Hummels. The goal was awarded to Götze who didn't celebrate against his old club.
Champions League Round of 16
Liverpool 0 - 1 Hertha BSC
Suarez 79'
Another game in which Hertha Berlin played against a good team. This time it was in the Champions League and the opponent was Liverpool. The game was pretty even but Hertha kept the ball a bit more but neither side could score. The only goal was scored about ten minutes before the end of the game when Luis Suarez finished a counter attack from the right with the outside of his foot.
Hertha BSC 1 - 1 VfL Wolfsburg
Suarez 51'
De Bruyne 45'
The second game of the season between these two teams ended in another draw. Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoreline, once again with a longshot. He shot a powerful shot from outside the box to the top right corner. The equaliser was scored by Luis Suarez a couple minutes into the second half after the ball bounced off the defender. The striker then just shot the ball with his left foot to the top right corner to save a point.
League Table
1. Hertha BSC, 64 pts
2. Bayern München, 45 pts
3. VfL Wolfsburg, 44 pts
4. Hamburger SV, 40 pts
5. Bayer Leverkusen, 40 pts
6. Borussia Dortmund, 39 pts

18. SC Paderborn, 14 pts
Player of the Month
I just had to use this picture when I saw it. Sorry.
Luis Suarez
The first player of the month award of the year 2017 went to Luis Suarez. The January arrival scored five goals in five games and every goal he scored was important. The striker proved his quality and hopefully he keeps performing.
Press Conference
Your lead has now increased to huge nineteen points. Are you happy about that?
Of course I am, how could I not be? The difference is, like you said, huge and I'm complelety sure no one will be able to catch us. That is good because we don't have pressure in the league and we can rest our big players.
Does the lead affect your game? For example, you lost to Mainz.
It might affect it slightly. The players aren't as motivated because they now that there is no danger but I'm doing my best to keep them motivated. We always perform better against the bigger teams and I think we will continue winning those games.
You have a one-goal lead in the Champions League against Liverpool and that goal is an away goal. How big do you think your chances of progressing are?
I think they are pretty big, especially after that win. We have an important away goal and we defended really well at Anfield which makes it hard for Liverpool to equalise the aggregate score. We will try to focus on our game and score goals.
Let's talk about your transfers. Why did you decide to let the two most important attacking players of the team leave?
Because of the money. The offers we received were really big and there was no reason keeping them in the team, especially after the players reacted positively to the offers. We got almost two hundred million from the sales and we used that money to improve the team a lot. We bought Luis (Suarez) and Mario (Götze) to replace the players we sold and Alexis (Sanchez) came in to improve our attack. Toni (Kroos) was bought to strengthen our midfield. On top of that we will get Hummels and Reus in the summer. All of those players are amazing and I think the team is better now than it was before the transfer window.
One more question. If you win the double this season will you stay at Hertha?
Of course I will. I will not leave this club until I win the treble. Even after that I think I will stay.
Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

Month of January - Transfers & Triples
Transfer News
With a few issues that Neville had with the team, he went on the search for a new CB and LM.
After the first game against Southampton, he secured two vital players for the team. The young center back from Celtic, Virgil van Dijk joined; Everton paid 7 mil dollars for him.
Another Dutch player who joined was Jean-Paul Böetius from Feyenoord with a pricetag of 10 mil dollars.
Third signing was made while thinking towards the future, as Fabian Schär signed a contract to join next season from Basel.
However, a few departures were aswell, as Arouna Kone and Francisco Junior both left. Junior went to Rotherham United and Kone was transferred to Levante UD.
GAMES
Southampton 1-2 Everton
16', 32' Samuel Eto'o (EVE)
86' Jay Rodriguez (STH)
After a successful month of December, things started to get interesting for Everton. As they were looking to make headway in the league, the Toffees had to face the Saints, away from Goodison.
While both teams looked equal on paper, it certainly didn´t look like that on the field, as Eto'o scored his two rather quickly. Everton was constantly pressuring the Saints and it really looked like one team wanted to win the game.
Southampton did pull one back, as Jay Rodriguez hit one past the keeper, but they didn`t do enough for a second one, as Everton took a solid victory.
Crystal Palace 3-3 Everton

86' Jean-Paul Böetius (EVE)
Previous Game(s): Everton 3-2 Crystal Palace
Last times these two teams met it was a battle like none other, yet Everton edged it out. This time, now at the Palace, the Toffees were going to have a harder time. A lot more was at stake than just 3 points; this was a FA Cup game.
It was Crystal Palace who took the lead, as Umut Bulut scored two in five minutes. Later on in the second half, Chamakh scored a penalty and things were looking dire.
However, as Böetius went to take a corner, he put on the head of van Dijk, who scored on his debut game. A few minutes later, McGeady found a break-through and scored it 1-on-1 pass the keeper.
The momentum shifted and now, it looked like Everton was going to take the game back. On the final few minutes of the game, it was the other debutee, Böetius, who dribbled past the defender and slotted it home. The game ended as a draw, meaning that the two teams would face eachother again to see, who goes on to the next round.
Manchester City 2-2 Everton
34' Edin Dzeko (MCI)
36' Christian Atsu (EVE)
60' Samir Nasri (MCI)
90' Romelu Lukaku (EVE)
Previous games: Manchester City 0-3 Everton
After a hard fought tie, Everton went on another away game, this time in Etihad. They were going to face Manchester City. Last time at Etihad, Everton made easy work against the Citizens. However, a lot more was to play for this time, as it was the Capital One cup semi-finals.
City took the lead, as Dzeko scored the header from a great cross. It didn`t take long though for Everton to strike back with Atsu scoring a beautiful volley.
Next goal was for the home team, as a strike from Nasri hits Baines in the head and bounces in. Everton made a sub that paid off, as Romelu Lukaku came on and scored the equalizer in the final minute of the game.
The game at Etihad ended in a tie, but it was not the last time these two teams would meet this month, as they had another 2 games against eachother; one in the league and one in the cup.
Everton 1-1 West Bromwich Albion
7' Arouna Kone (EVE)
52' Brown Ideye (WBA)
Previous games: West Bromwich Albion 2-3 Everton
Back at home, before Crystal, they had another team to face, as West Brom came to play. Last time, Everton grabbed the win away from home, and it looked like they were going to win it this time aswell.
The last game for Arouna Kone was a scoring one, as he took the lead very early on. The game itself was not too interesting, neither team had many chances. Still, West Brom only needed one, and as Brown Ideye broke through, he put it past the goalie.
The game ended 1-1, and it looked like both teams were happy with it.
Everton 3-2 Crystal Palace
24' Marouane Chamakh (CRY)
35' Ross Barkley (EVE)
54' Mile Jedinak (CRY)
56' Romelu Lukaku (EVE)
90' Samuel Eto'o (EVE)
Previous Game(s): Everton 3-2 Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace 3-3 Everton
Now, the pressure was on. The winner would go on in the FA Cup, the loser would drop out. If the first game was certainly something to talk about, the second one was exactly like it.
Crystal Palace took the lead, after a great penalty. A bit later, it was Barkley, who scored it back. Palace was still fighting. As they earned a free-kick, it was Mile Jedinak who hit it past Howard to take the lead.
That didn`t stop the big Belgium Romelu Lukaku to tie the game up yet again. While it seemed like extra time was needed, it was Samuel Eto'o at the end of the game, who scored the winner and sent Everton to the next round of the FA Cup.
Everton 1-2 Manchester City
20' Yaya Toure (MCI)
45' Stevan Jovetic (MCI)
90' Romelu Lukaku
Previous games: Manchester City 0-3 Everton
Manchester City 2-2 Everton
Now, the two games at Goodison against Manchester City. The first one was going to be a league game, and it was still an important one. City is getting nearer to the top 5 and Everton is trying to fight for the 4th spot.
That being said, City came to play. Yaya Toure scored a screamer of a goal to take the lead. Just before the end of half-time, it was Jovetic who gave the Citizens a two goal lead.
Lukaku did manage to score one back, but it did not make much of a difference, as City took the 3 points. Everton looked poor; if they wanted to advance in the Capital One cup, they would need to improve.
Everton 3-2 Manchester City
3' Romelu Lukaku (EVE)
48' Edin Dzeko (MCI)
51' Ross Barkley (EVE)
68' Romelu Lukaku (EVE)
71' Yaya Toure (MCI)
Previous games: Manchester City 0-3 Everton
Manchester City 2-2 Everton
Everton 1-2 Manchester City
Here it was, the last time City would face Everton. The winner would advance to the final of the Capital One cup. Tension was in the air as the Toffees were scared. Losing 2 days earlier at home against Manchester did not make them feel too confident.
However, with Romelu Lukaku scoring 3 minutes in, things were already looking up. Everton played better and with more confidence. City did manage to score one back, but the Toffees replied with one of their own.
It was the Belgium hero again who scored his second to give Everton a 3-1 lead. Yaya Toure did manage to reply, but City had no chance to score another and get the game to extra time. In the end, Everton had won it 3-2, and were going to the Capital One cup final against....
Everton 4-3 West Bromwich Albion
6' Brown Ideye (WBA)
17', 33' Steven Naismith (EVE)
45' Danny Ings (EVE)
63', 66' Brown Ideye (WBA)
90' Steven Naismith (EVE)
Previous games: West Bromwich Albion 2-3 Everton
Everton 1-1 West Bromwich Albion
Last game of the month was (again) a FA Cup game against West Brom. While the earlier game was a rather boring tie, this game was nothing like it.
Brown Ideye gave the away team an early lead. West Brom looked dangerous, but Tim Howard was on form, keeping Everton in the game.
Then the show started. Steven Naismith scored 2 and just before half time, Danny Ings managed to score one aswell. Everton looked confident in advancing to the next round.
However, Ideye came to play. He scored 2 to finish off his hattrick and just like that, the game was tied yet again. Both teams were going at it, and as it looked to go to extra-time, it was Steven Naismith who finished off his hat-trick and grabbed the win in the end. Goodison Park was rioting, as they advanced to the next round in the FA Cup.

Overall, can`t complain. We did lose, yes, the streak is over, but we are in the Capital One cup final! Atleast we can win a trophy! Some good signings aswell.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Today we can announce some major changes at Shrewsbury Town. Firstly the takeover of the club has been completed, with the Wilson family now in control. Dean, former manager of the club passed away, but his love for the club has encouraged his family to invest in the club, with his Brother David taking over the managerial role.
SEASON 2
SHREWSBURY TRANSFER CENTRE
PLAYERS IN
Will Keane- The former Manchester United joins on a 5 year deal for £400,000. He will provide some added depth to our striker position, and also a long term option to replace the ageing Mangan and Akpro.
Harrison Mojica- The Colombian international joins on a 5 year deal for £775,000. The 21 year old will slot straight into the starting 11 and will hopefully stay there for a very long time
Erdin Demir- Another summer signing Erdin Demir joins on a free, putting pen to paper on a 3 year contract. The Swedish left back will take the starting spot of Demetriou and will hopefully be the answer to our long-term wingback issues.
Tomi Juric- Our other pre-contract arrival was Australian native Tomi Juric. He will strengthen our attack and provide a new strike partner for James Collins to team up with.
Kang Jin Ahn (GK), Anthony Mendes (CM), Tando Leckie (GK) and Ben Elsey (CB) were all called up from the youth academy.

David Wilson’s opening match as Shrewsbury ended in a victory as his side went to Ashton Gate and picked up a 1-0 win. All the hype was around James Collins pre-match, with his incredible scoring form last season, but it was a new face to New Meadow Tomi Juric who scored, opening his club account in the process. The Shrews held out for an impressive result on the opening day, and one that will most definitely please the new boss.

MK DONS 0
David Wilson’s men progressed to the 2nd round of the cup after a surprisingly comfortable home victory against MK Dons. Loanee Demarai Gray collected his first goal since re-joining the Shrews after his shorter loan spell last campaign to put the Shrews ahead. The Dons only registered 2 shots on goal all game, and fell further behind on the hour mark as last season’s League 2 top scorer James Collins powered in to claim his 1st of the new season. The manager was very complimentary of his players following the final whistle but also stated “There is still a very long way to go”.

Barnett 95’
It was a day of incredible drama at New Meadow as Peterborough snatched a last gasp equaliser to earn a point. James Collins had given the Shrews a half time lead following some good work from Gray, allowing the English striker all the time and space he needed to slot the ball into the net. But Wilson’s men struggled to get going in the second half, and were punished in the 95th minute for failing to clear the ball, as Tyrone Barnett pounced to steal a point.

BRADFORD 0
SHREWSBURY 3
Mojica 15’, 21’
Goldson 34’
After the disappointing home draw in Shrewsbury’s last game, they dismantled a Bradford side, thanks to an inspirational performance from summer signing Harrison Mojica. The Colombian scored 2 and assisted another to guide his team to an impressive away win. A bad injury curtailed the possibility of him getting his first ever hat trick. David Wilson commented on the situation after the game. “Unfortunately Harris has done some damage to his toe. We’re not sure at the extent to which he’s hurt but it could be broken.” When asked how long Mojica would be out for Wilson replied “It’s difficult to say because we don’t know the extent of the injury. If it is broken it will probably be around 7 or 8 weeks.”
SATURDAY 23RD AUGUST

DONCASTER 0
David Wilson’s side continued their fine form at the start of the new season with a comfortable home win over Doncaster. Despite wasting numerous opportunities in the first half, the Shrews were always in control and took the lead just after the interval through Demarai Gray. The game was put to bed with 20 minutes remaining, as James Collins headed in powerfully notching his 3rd of the season in the process.

Accrington were walked over by Shrewsbury at New Meadow as the hosts progressed to the next round of the cup. James Collins scored twice including one from the spot, while James Caton picked up his first senior goal in football. David Wilson described it as “the complete performance” as his side scored 3 and kept a clean sheet.

SHREWSBURY 3
Juric 31’, 84’

Shrewsbury Town ended the month in perfect fashion with a terrific away win and performance over Colchester. It wasn’t all easy going for the Shrews, as they fell with 18 minutes on the clock after some sloppy defending. However, Tomi Juric was causing consistent problems and his 2 goals set the visitors on the road to victory. Contract rebel Ryan Woods was the other man to score, although an injury to James Collins in the build-up took the spotlight away from the scorer.

The Potters score 3 times in 8 minutes at the end of the first half to kill the tie off including a penalty in which Liam Moore was lucky not to see red. Two first half wonder goals from former Red Danny Drinkwater and Paul Konchesky set them on their way to a famous win. Juan Mata’s late goal set up a nervy ending for the Foxes but a last minute defensive calamity for United gifted Leicester their third as Anders Lindegaard put the ball in his own net.
