Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Indiblue I will take Francesco Lodi just going to go out on a limb. Lol.

Lugo update we pushed hard all the way to the end. We won seven out of the eight final games, losing only to Real Madrid in a frenzy match. My job was spared, which I am glad because this is the best group of lads I have had at Lugo. Basically transforming this team to all former youth academy club players. We are starting the 2018-2019 (my fifth season), we earned another euro league qualifying round birth and took the first match in league play over Rayo who is back in La Liga after promotion. More to come later.

P.S. I have one of the fastest players ever in a fifa game, he is a lb with 95 sprint speed, 98 acceleration, and 93 stamina. He was just promoted after May update and will be a huge contributor this season.

        Hellas Verona

        September 2014

        Hellas Verona 1 - 1 Palermo
        Wickham 33'
        Dybala 57'

        Torino 3 - 5 Hellas Verona
I accidentally advanced before writing down the scorers

        Hellas Verona 2 - 0 Genoa
        Wickham 12', Toni 27'

        AS Roma 1 - 0 Hellas Verona
        Florenzi 37'

Hellas Verona faced one of the title favourites in this controversial game against AS Roma. In the first half both teams had a few chances but Alessandro was the only one who managed to net a goal. Mattia Destro took a weak shot from the edge of the box but Verona's keeper Rafael, LIKE THE FU*KING C*NT HE IS, decided to just parry the ball instead of catching it. This lead to Florenzi tapping the ball in the net which made Corleone mad on the sidelines. In the second half Verona tried to get the equaliser but they failed in it. A really controversial decision was made by the referee in the 88th minute when Connor Wickham was taking a shot in the box. Roma's Leandro Castan sticked his leg out and took down Verona's attacker and the penalty wasn't given. The replays a few minutes later showed that Castan didn't get the ball and that a penalty should've been awarded to the away team. Gialloblu's manager Simeone Corleone went crazy because of the challenge and replays and he shouted at the fourth official and after the final whistle he run on the pitch to shout and threaten the referee according to the video and pictures. At the end the security was needed to remove the manager from the referee's room.

        League Table

        1. Fiorentina, 13 pts
        2. Inter Milan, 13 pts
        3. Juventus, 13 pts
        4. Lazio, 9 pts
        5. Napoli, 9 pts
        6. AS Roma, 9 pts
        7. Hellas Verona, 8 pts
        ------------------------------------
        12. Parma, 6 pts
        ------------------------------------
        18. Palermo, 2 pts
        19. Cesena, 2 pts
        20. Torino, 1 pt

        Player of the Month

        Luca Toni

The first Player of the Month-award of this season goes to the veteran and captain Luca Toni. The 2006 World Cup winner scored three important goals in this month and he assisted one, too. Toni created chances and was an important part of Verona's attack this month.

        Flop of the Month

        Rafael

The first-choice keeper of Hellas Verona suffers from two things: lack of competition and being terrible. Rafael has let in goals in every game he has played this season and on many occasions he fails to pull a save. He positions himself badly, his reflexes are bad and he can't save anything. On top of that Verona don't have a good second-choice keeper who to use and this has lead to Simeone Corleone scouting for good goalkeepers.

        Press Conference

Good afternoon. The team hasn't been good but it haven't been bad either in your first two months as a manager. How would you describe these months?

A good word to describe the first two months of my spell is alright. We have dropped points against not-so-good teams but we have played well in other games. There is still a lot of work to do and we are taking a step at a time. We aren't aiming to win everything in two years with this average squad. This is a long-term project and it has started well. At least for now.

You are now seventh in the league. Are you happy about this position?

Yes, I am. To be honest that is the highest position I want us to finish the season in because I don't want us to play in European competitions next season. My reason behind this is that I don't believe the squad is ready and good enough.

You had a mental meltdown in the game against Roma. What happened to you?

First of all, I got very angry at Rafael for letting that goal in. He has been sh*t the whole season and I can't stand him at all. I don't care if I'm offending him but to be fair that's what he deserves. Secondly, that as*hole of a referee decided to stick his eyes up his *** when Connor (Wickham) was taken down in the box. That made me mad. Even after seeing the replays that lunatic didn't give the faul. I just told him what I thought about the challenge and his refereeing. Everyone always says that Juventus bribe referees, which is true, but Roma that often, as well.

You got banned for for five league games but you didn't get any other penalties. How did you receive such a small punishment?

I don't know and I don't care. The football federation makes the decision and I think it was a good one. It would've been shameful for my family to receive a bigger punishment and they are relieved about the decision.

                Hellas Verona

                October 2014

                Hellas Verona 4 - 1 Cagliari
                Toni 9', 90' pen, Bernardeschi 75', Longo 81'
                Ibarbo 6'

                Hellas Verona 1 - 0 AC Milan
                Wickham 11'

Hellas Verona faced the Italian giants AC Milan in this even game between the two sides. The under-achieving team Milan was the favourite in this game but Verona surprised everyone when they took the lead only eleven minutes into the game thanks to Connor Wickham's shot which flew to the net off Milan's defender Alex. Verona survived until the end and surprised everyone by winning.

                Napoli 4 - 2 Hellas Verona
                Michu 32', Inler 39', Hamsik 45', Zapata 90'
                Wickham 34', Longo 82'

In their next match Hellas Verona tried to beat another top team, this time Napoli, but they failed at it. The home team dominated the game and they netted four past Verona's keeper Rafael. The first goal was scored by the Spaniard Michu who had just missed a penalty couple minutes earlier. He headed the ball into the net from a cross by Jose Callejon. Verona equalised only two minutes later when Connor Wickham showed his heading qualities. Napoli responsed to the goal as fast when Gökhan Inler received the ball in the box. The midfielder then just curled the ball in the bottom right corner. Five minutes later the captain Marek Hamsik headed the third goal. Samuele Longo managed to pull one back in the 82nd minute from a low cross but Duvan Zapata scored one more for his side in stoppage time with a nice curling shot.

                Hellas Verona 2 - 1 Lazio
                Marquez 43', Wickham 72' pen
                Keita 80'

The tough run of opponents continued for Verona in this game in which they managed to beat Lazio in front of their home fans. The opening goal came a few minutes before half time when the Mexican legend Rafael Marquez headed the ball in from a corner. Half an hour later Connor Wickham scored the second goal from a penalty which was given easily. Lazio's winger Keita pulled one back in the 80th minute from a corner but it wasn't enough for the team from Rome.

                League Table

                1. Juventus, 23 pts
                2. Fiorentina, 19 pts
                3. Inter Milan, 18 pts
                4. Napoli, 17 pts
                5. Hellas Verona, 17 pts
                6. AS Roma, 16 pts
                -------------------------------------------
                11. Parma, 12 pts
                -------------------------------------------
                18. Cesena, 6 pts
                19. Empoli, 4 pts
                20. Torino, 2 pts

                Player of the Month

                Connor Wickham

Hellas Verona's English summer signing Connor Wickham hasn't shown any problems of adjusting to a new league. He netted three important goals in this month and he finished chances clinically. Wickham arrived for a really small fee of two million euros and he is proving to be a bargain.

                Flop of the Month

                Nico Lopez

                Sorry, Rabbit

It was a tough decision picking between the young Uruguayan and the terrible keeper who goes by the name of Rafael but considering that he actually managed to save a few shots the award was given to Nico Lopez. He didn't have any impact on Verona's attacking game and all of his shots went wide and high.

                Press Conference

You have climbed to fifth place in the league. Do you finally think that this is good?

Yes, I'm starting to believe so. We have shown that we are good enough to beat some big teams but my main concern is our lack of depth and quality substitutes. We lost our right back Luna to an injury and now we have to play either a left back there or a not good enough right back. All and all I'm happy about this last month.

What was your best game in your opinion?

It's hard to pick between the Lazio game and the Milan one but I have to go with the Milan game. We were clinical enough and we defended amazingly after we got the lead. We just need to work on our game in away matches.

What do you think about your summer signings?

All of them have been doing really well and I'm glad we signed them. I'm looking forward to working with them next year when they will join permanently.

I voted disable. Every time I start a career with a new team I disable it so I can really get to know my new squad. Makes it a bigger challenge for me too. Plus, you said you were gonna disable it so you can't back out of your word! Lol

Nice to see Eaves back in your good graces as well. Also you missed or ignored my end of season Alcorcon update, not cool either way.
Porto are a pain man. I know I just need a 1-0 win to get through but even that seems like a huge challenge! Eaves was always in my good graces, but the press was eating him up since that is what would have happened in real life. I wouldn't let him go after the great performances he put in last season and I'm glad he's finally found the goal.

I didn't ignore it, I was like the second person to give it a thumbs up! That means I read it btw lol the only thing I would like to say is that maybe you could use Ulreich in a swap deal to get a better keeper. His value must be high since he's in the 80s. And what happened to the two goalkeepers that were battling for the starting spot? Are neither of them ready yet?

Looking forward to the Dagenham update. I'm sure you already know that I've always been biased in favor of your Dagenham career.

Simppu: That's a great start to the season! Already in the top half of the table and ahead of Roma. Your work with Verona is already showing. As for your Rafael situation, I would just bench him if it's really that bad. I know you said you don't have a good enough back up goalkeeper, but that's only what his overall says. It's happened to me plenty of times when I give a low overall player an opportunity after benching a starter and that low overall player surprises me and takes the starting spot for himself. It happens in real life as well.

Thanks. I was surprised to see Roma so low in the table and myself so high. The league is really even and there are about four points separating the teams from second to seventh or eighth. I'm happy about how the team is shaping but I still want to get a right back and a centre back plus a midfielder. We'll see what happens in January.

I did bench him for two games and that didn't fix anything. The second-choice keeper, who is 66 ovr, was pretty much on the same level. I hope Rafael doesn't have to make many saves. Right now I have about ten keepers on my shortlist from young talents like Scuffet to golden oldies like de Sanctis and Abbiati.

Thanks haha, but I think Sheffield has a pretty big lead on the rest of the league right now. Still more than half the season left though. And now you understand why I built my team around Wilson haha! The guy is a star in the making, but would have never gotten a chance on United with how this game is set up.

                              1860 Munich Career Mode

Phone call between Mr. OJ and Gerhard Mayrhofer, the chairman

                              OJ - Hello

Mayrhofer - Guten tag my friend. How are you

OJ - Slightly nervous but I'm feeling OK.

Mayrhofer - Good to hear. Well first of all I wish to inform that we feel your interview went particularly well and our of the three clients we interviewed, you were not only the most highly-spoken of by each and every board member present at the meeting but we also felt the vision you put forward not only excited all the board members but in fact made us hungry for success. We wholeheartedly agreed with the self-sufficient ideology you put forward and we thoroughly believed your ideas were perfect for this club. However we reached a predicament. One of the other candidates, Thorsten Fink has a similar, but not as polished or as well put forward as yourself, philosophy and also has a greater amount of experience. This leaves us with a decision to make.

OJ - OK. So is it good news for me or good news for Fink.

Mayrhofer - We think good news for you, and I imagine that you will think that to. We have decided to hire you as manager of 1860 Munich with immediate effect. We thought your interview was outstanding and whilst you may lack the experience Fink possesses we felt the opportunity to have a young, exciting coach coming through was too good to pass on. We would like to offer you a contract and we really hope you accept.

OJ - I accept the offer. Thank you for giving me an option. It means more than you can imagine to have your backing and I accept it with the statement that I am hungry for success. If you have faith in me and give me time, I can guarantee this come will become a success

Mayrhofer - OK then, let's get down to business. You will have a budget €5,600,000 and a wage budget of €25,000. We would love to give more but we are not in the financial position currently, to give any more.

OJ - That should be more than enough for what I wish to do with the club.

Mayrhofer - With that then, I should be off. I'm sure you have a lot to prepare for prior to your first media appearance. I look forward to seeing what you have to offer this great club.

OJ - Thanks for your time, I look forward to a look and fruitful partnership which will create the foundations for success.

                              An Article from Newspaper, Sportschau

In an unexpected turn of events, 1860 Munich have hired Mr. OJ as their new manager.
It is expected that the manager was hired after only one week of negotiations and interviews with the Englishman. 1860 Munich released a statement yesterday saying - "After much deliberation and negotiation we have finally decided to bring in Mr. OJ as our new manager. We hope that he will be the man to finally reach this clubs lofty ambitions and finally get us in the Bundesliga. Mr. OJ will be giving a press conference later tomorrow to answer any questions you have."

It is believed Munich had three possible candidates in mind, with a source inside the club telling us that Thorsten Fink, the former Bayern Munich player, being another candidate for the job. Mr. OJ has been brought in, in an attempt to get the club out of the terribly unsuccessful period of time they have been suffering from in recent years.

Many fans were shocked after OJ's appointment due to the Englishmen's lack of experience. This is in fact OJ's first managerial job after having a relatively successful playing career representing teams like Athletic Bilbao, Hull City and lastly R.S.C Anderlecht. Another source inside the club told us that OJs appointment came as a shock to many inside the club, but also his vision put forward impressed the board so much that they had no choice but to hire him.

One thing's for sure. The only way OJ can prove to the fans that he is the man for the job is with results and needless to say, this club needs some.

Mr. OJ's first press Conference after his appointment

Question - Mr. OJ. This is your first job as manager of any football club. Why did you choose this job, in particular, out of the number of clubs you had lined up?

Mr. OJ - This club stuck out at me for a variety of reasons. Primarily, it's in a great country in a great city with great fans. Additionally, it has a really healthy budget and a squad which shows a lot of promise. From what I've seen so far, it is the perfect first job for a fairly rookie manager like myself.

Question - Do you think, therefore, that your lack of experience could play a part this season. Do you feel that this experience, or lack thereof, could harm you attempts to gain promotion.

Mr. OJ - Of course. I have to learn what works best for me and the club. If I feel something isn't working, unlike many great managers whom I look up to, it may take me a while to work out why. However this job will help me not only hone my skills and develop as a manager, but also will give me the chance to develop an incredibly strong club capable of the best. I am hungry to learn and subsequently become the best.

Question - After the sale of Moritz Stoppelkamp, who was considered to be the clubs star player, do you feel you may struggle this season to find a new talisman?

Mr. OJ - Not at all. Of course Moritz was a good player, but football is a team game. Yes, his departure may effect us, but this not only allows new players to come in but also allows for someone to step up.

Question - Your predecessor, Markus von Ahlen, signed Rodri form Barcelona for a fee of 5,000,000. Do you think that that is a good signing and will he fit in your plans?

Mr. OJ - Rodri is a good player and although I may not have signed him myself, he will be first choice striker for this club. He is a very complete striker with good pace, strength and aerial ability. From what I've seen he has the potential to become a very good player.

Question - Finally what are your aspirations for this season and what do you think is achievable?

Mr. OJ - I think we could achieve promotion and meet the objectives set by the board. Of course we will need a bit of luck with injuries and results but I do feel this squad has the ability to reach the Bundesliga and compete with some very good teams. I'm looking forward to my time here.
Finally I have a message for the fans. I need time. I have put forward to the board a vision I have for this club. That vision will take time but when it comes through, this club will become a strong power in German football. Results will come an signings will be made. Support the club as you have done and with that I will try to earn your support. Be patient. This club is going places under my lead. Thanks for your time, not further questions please.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. If I have time today, then there will be the first "real" section of the save including transfers and games. In the meantime any feedback would be much appreciated!
