Ah okay. In that case, congratulations on qualifying! Looking forward to seeing how you do in Europe. Fenerbahce will most likely be the team to beat, but I remember Molde giving me tough matches in 14 with Wimbledon. I don't know much about Reid so can't say anything there. Good luck!

You're still rocking the Afro! Hahaha YES! I like the career so far man. Arsenal was a good choice but I also like how your update style is still very similar to the player career. Looking forward to the future updates!

Would it be safe to assume Coquelin will not be with the squad for long? :0

If you're not and you end up losing 2 or 3 games, it doesn't matter because you have a 19 point difference! Lol you can just bring it back down and everything will go back to normal. Just a suggestion. I really like how you include the player that made the assist when listing goals. It's a great idea never thought of doing that. I would try it out myself, with your permission first of course, but I don't think it would look good on mine because of the way I list the goal scorers. Keep it up though!
I'm playing on legendary so can't really up the difficulty I guess i could mess with the sliders but I like the gameplay the way it is so I am not really sure about what I'm going to do...

Thanks! Yes of course! Go ahead

            Dagenham '17-18 Season
            End of the Season Update

            League Match 30
            Chelsea - Dagenham (0-1)
            Reyna 36'

Recap: The showdown between the top two teams in the BPL went to the Daggers who have now beaten Chelsea in both matchups this season. Reyna is starting to get hot after finishing March strong. We outshot Chelsea 6-2, 5-1 on goal.

            League Match 31
            Aston Vila - Dagenham (2-1)
            Clark 36'
            Sylla 42'
            Reyna 83'

Recap: If we ever have to face Andrea Consigli ever again it'll be two times too many. UNREAL that in a game we outshot the opponent 15-6, 13-2 on goal, they scored on their only 2 shots on target while Consigli gobbled up 13 saves (THIRTEEN!) to rightfully finish as the MOTM with a near perfect rating of 9.8. Disgusting. But as luck would have it, they're actually our next opponent in the F.A. Cup ...

            Aston Villa - Dagenham

            Spoiler

            League Match 32
            Dagenham - Newcastle Utd (1-0)
            Nimely 45'

Recap: A game that was a bit easier than the score indicates (we outshot Newcastle 10-2, 9-1 on goal) against a team that will see again for the last time this season in the F.A. Cup final.

            League Match 33
            Tottenham - Dagenham (3-1)
            Chadli 27'
            Sarr 39'
            Lamela 56'
            Chadli 70'

Recap: Gareth Bale was deadly on point all game long and we clearly don't match up well with the Spurs. Bale assisted on the first two goals and made the Spurs' dagger happened as well when his rocket shot from the right bounced off Leali and towards a wide open Chadli who put the ball at the back of the net. Chelsea, on the other hand, does not let down and is starting to run away with the league title.

            MAY
            League Match 34
            Dagenham - Manchester City (1-0)
            Wilkinson 83'

Recap: Early in the season we outplayed these guys thoroughly but lost 0-1. This time around we performed the same way but came away victorious thanks to a clutch header from our best defender. Man City only was able to get off ONE shot, which wasn't even on goal, while we took 15 shots (8 of them on target).

            League Match 35
            Dagenham - QPR (2-3)
            Reyna 28'
            Ings 33'
            Hoilett 55' (P)
            Wilkinson 82'
            Hoilett 90' (P)

Recap: Welp, that's probably it for our league title hopes after a crushing call against us at the end of the game gave QPR the win. It was the right call, with all credit to QPR's consistent attack. Youngster Jorge Gavilan was put in to try to add some offense but he made a mistake on a handball in the air on a QPR counterattack and the visitors made us pay. Time to focus on earning a Champions' League spot.

            League Match 36
            West Ham - Dagenham (3-2)
            Ngando 9'
            Diakite 13'
            Ngando 29'
            Diakite 57'
            Caseres 66'

Recap: The 2nd East London Derby of the season was an entertaining back-and-forth battle that saw Ramiro Caseres make a timely comeback to the scoring sheet to give us the victory. Caseres, filling in after the departure of James Collins, hadn't scored since the F.A. Cup quarter finals in March and hasn't been able to fully fill that void. Nevertheless he was clutch on this day to keep us in the hunt for a Champions spot.

            League Match 37
            Dagenham - Swansea City (0-0)

Recap: With just one day of rest after the F.A. Cup final we had to resort to playing our B team in this one and even though they played well we were unable to break through against a tougher than expected Swansea team.

            League Match 38
            Dagenham - Sunderland
            Kim 90+

Recap: We came into this game already assured a 4th place finish but we needed a win and maybe more to jump over Arsenal for 3rd place. Sunderland was as tough as they were against us back in October and it looked like we wouldn't be able to gather more than a draw until Kim broke into the box from the right away just before the final whistle and launched a strike with his left foot to the left post and in, giving us the victory. All for naught, however, as Arsenal won their game 4-0 and hung on to 3rd place due go GD.

On one hand it was disappointing to fall out of competition for the league title, and fall so far out that we even missed out on direct qualifying to the group stages of the Champions, but overall we were undoubtedly the surprise team of the season putting on several outstanding performances, winning the F.A. Cup and earning the opportunity to go head to head against the best clubs in Europe next season.

And now that the season is over, the 2018 World Cup begins!

Group A: England, Belgium, Poland, Venezuela.
Group B: Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Norway.
Group C: Netherlands, Uruguay, Switzerland, Korea Republic.
Group D: Argentina, Czech Republic, Ireland, New Zealand.
Group E: Italy, Denmark, Scotland, South Africa.
Group F: France, United States, Slovenia, Cote d'Ivoire.
Group G: Germany, Turkey, Australia, Egypt.
Group H: Brazil, Russia, Romania, Cameroon.

            Group A
            Venezuela - Belgium (1-0)
            Martinez 90+'

Recap: First of all I wanted to point out that we were placed in an incredibly difficult group. Belgium and England are elite European forces and Poland has probably as much talent as I can bring into this. This opening game was key for us and we would had been happy to come away with a draw. We played it smart, we were patient with our opportunities and played solid defense, and because of that we were able to take 14 shots, 10 of them on goal, while keeping possession for 59% of the game. Not all of our shots were of the dangerous variety but we definitely put pressure on Courtois' goal. Belgium's attack, on the other hand, had to work extra hard to get 8 shots off, none of them on target but a handful of them came really close. It looked like it'd be a scoreless draw until Josef Martinez scored in a play very similar to Kim's goal in the last game of the season for Dagenham, rocketing a left footed shot to Courtois' right side that was too well placed and too hard hit to be spot, getting us to steal 3 points in this very important opener.

            Venezuela - England (0-2)
            Henderson 7'
            Wilshere 40'

Recap: Outstanding game by England who score both of their goals thanks to crisp passing. They were also tough defensively, with an inspired Joe Hart on goal, and they clinched a spot in the Round of 16 while sending us to a must-win game against Poland.

            3. Cameroon - 0pts

I don't mean to tease, but the next game isn't until the beginning of July and I have to do this update and the roster review one before I can get there.

                  Dagenham '17-18 Season
                  Roster Review

(* Denotes players graduated from the youth academy)

                  Starters
GK - Nicola Leali (77 OVR), 7/10: Solid season for the 25-year old from Italy but we still think he can do better. He had some really good games but also a few bad games and didn't really improve throughout the season. 19 clean sheets. 46 apps.
RB - Seok Min Kim (72 OVR)*, 8/10: The 19-year old from South Korea continues to get better with every season and the step up on his game was recognized by local media who named him to the league's Starting XI. Has Potential To Be Special. 2 goals and 6 assists. 45 apps.
RCB - Luke Wilkinson (78 OVR), 8/10: The 26-year old Englishmen is now in his prime and showing it by being the best player in a highly decorated back four as well as continuing to be a threat in the air game. Rightfully named to the league's Starting XI. 4 goals and 1 assist. 46 apps.
LCB - Marian Sarr (75 OVR), 8/10: Only member of our starting back four who didn't receive league honors but he's graded as highly as the other 3 because he performed just as brightly. Still can't believe we snatched the 23-year old German for just half a million a couple of seasons ago (now he's worth $3.6 million). 1 goal. 45 apps.
LB - Oluwafemi Ilesanmi (73 OVR), 8/10: We've been singing praises for Ilesanmi during the last couple of season so no reason to not do it again. The 27-year old from England has probably peaked at this point in his career but he's still one of the best (and probably the most underrated) players at his position. The media finally recognized this by awarding him league honors. He led all players in the F.A. Cup in assists with 4. 1 goal and 7 assists.
CDM - Fernando Monzon (77 OVR)*, 8/10: The 19-year old from Venezuela made the full time move here from CAM and scored as many goals as last season (although they may have all been PK's, not sure) though he did see a drop in assists. However, he made up for that by solidifying the play at this position and was rewarded by being named to the league's Starting XI. He will now head over to the World Cup with his native Venezuela. Has Potential To Be Special. 8 goals and 4 assists. 44 apps.
RM - Medy Elito (70 OVR), 9/10: What to do with the 28-year captain from England whose game does not seem to improve yet he continues to play at high level each and every time out? Ride that form until it drops. Elito followed his best season from 16'-'17 with a hell of a first half to this season, and even though he was unable to sustain that form in the second half he was still very much a threat each time out. The media recognized this and named him to the Starting XI, the 2nd consecutive season he receives league honors. Has That Special Something. 14 goals and 9 assists. 45 apps.
LM - Yordy Reyna (79 OVR), 10/10: If anyone had a better season than Elito it was the 24-year old from Peru who proved that the old saying "it's not how you start, it's how you finish" is pretty accurate. Reyna took a bit to get going but once he settled in he was on fire, closing out the season with an amazing string of high-end performances that earned him the only honor higher than being named to the Starting XI - Player of the Year. He also won the golden boot in the F.A. Cup with 6 goals. That makes him our team MVP. Has That Special Something. 16 goals and 14 assists.
CAM - Axel Ngando (70 OVR), 6/10: The 24-year old from France was the most disappointing player for us this season, even after we were patient with him and kept him as a starter all season hoping the light would go on. He showed some flashes but never any consistency when he reached good form and barring unforeseen events he will not be a starter next season. 5 goals and 4 assists. 43 apps.
RS - Ramiro Caseres (71 OVR), 7/10: The 24-year old form Argentina came in this season on pre-contract and flashed his skills early on, earning a starting spot when James Collins went down with injury in the first half of the season. He then performed well enough that the club felt comfortable selling Collins in the winter but failed to fully fill the void left by the Irishman. With Jurge Locadia coming in on pre-contract, Caseres will likely head back to the bench and become our #3 striker. 9 goals and 11 assists. 40 apps.
LS - Alex Nimely (73 OVR), 8/10: It was a great 2nd season for the 27-year old Englishman at the club, stepping up as the best striker on the team. However, there's a cloud hanging over his relationship with the club as he has not been offered a new contract and he goes into next season with only one year remaining on his contract. Will the club extend him or replace him? 16 goals and 7 assists. 43 apps.

                  Subs
CM - Laurenco Vilna (70 OVR)*, 7/10: The 18-year old from Brazil took a big step this season by becoming our main sub, often coming in for Ngando. He's a natural fit at CAM but lacks the stamina of a starter and the team needs to decided whether he's ready to become the starter. Has Potential To Be Special. 4 goals and 1 assist. 40 apps.
ST - Chuba Akpom (64 OVR), 6/10: The 22-year old from England saw a lot more action this season due to Collins' injury and subsequent departure. However, it's getting to the point where he's not even a lock to be a regular next season. 1 goal and 1 assist. 29 apps.
CDM - Tim Brooks (70 OVR)*, 6/10: The 18-year old Yankee accepted his demotion to the bench this season and performed solidly when called upon, even earning a couple of starts late in the season. His role will remain unchanged for next season. Showing Great Potential. 19 apps.
RW - Memnos Zindilis (64 OVR)*, 7/10: The 18-year old from Greece worked relentlessly on his game early in the season, earning more looks as the season went on and performing better than expected. His versatility as both a CAM and ST give him extra value and he's jumped over Akpom in consideration for playing time. 3 goals. 11 apps.

Reserves (players who didn't play much this season, or return from loan, or have been recently promoted from the youth squad)

GK - Jordan Derbyshire* (64 OVR, An Exciting Prospect), GK - Jordan Seabright (54 OVR), RB - Mode (66 OVR), CB - Yohan Wachter (66 OVR), LB - Kagetoki Miyoshi* (66 OVR), LB - Davor Alanovic* (63 OVR, Showing Great Potential), LB - Jorge Gavilan* (64 OVR), CDM - Stefan Reichel* (67 OVR, Showing Great Potential), CDM - Xabi Lopez* (60 OVR), CM - John Jones (71 OVR), CM - Jon Toral (70 OVR), CM - Victor Meyer* (67 OVR), CM - Raffaele Molinaro* (64 OVR, An Exciting Prospect), CM - Francesco De Giorgio (64 OVR), CM - Dario Verdejo* (62 OVR, Showing Great Potential), CM - Emilio De Mesquites* (62 OVR), CM - David Antonio* (60 OVR), CM - Cristian Alonso* (58 OVR), CM - Eric Tinlea* (56 OVR), LM - Kenneth Hansen (60 OVR), CAM - Brian Donaldson* (61 OVR), CAM - Faruk Bahamdan* (59 OVR), RW - Jomar Sadami* (63 OVR, An Exciting Prospect), LW - Orestes Sentelidis* (58 OVR), CF - Goncalvo Guterres* (56 OVR).

At some point during the last 2 months of the season some academy players were promoted to the senior squad. Others left after we refused to promote them. Other left without notice. Here' what remains in the youth squad:
                  • Fernando Romero (MID/ATT, 60-74 OVR, 83-94 POT)*: 16-year old from Uruguay that has us all really excited. He'll definitely be involved in the attack regardless of position.
                  • Dean Murphy (LM, 64-68, 81-87): 17-year old from Ireland who projects as a complete midfielder. Technically gifted.
                  • Nathan Kenny (RM, 63-67, 83-89): 16-year old from Ireland also described as technically gifted.
                  • Sean Foran (LM, 62-66, 83-89): 15-year old from Ireland who is the fastest out of all the Irishmen in the academy. Our midfield could be 75% Irish in the near future.
                  • Pablo Escobar (CAM, 60-64, 74-80): 16-year old from Venezuela who was the most improved in the academy this season. If he can repeat that next season he will certainly earn promotion.
                  • Fabrice Mengual (RM, 50-60 71-85)*: 16-year old playmaker from France who actually projects as more of a CAM.
                  • Ciaran Kavanagh (CM, 58-62, 72-78): 16-year old from Ireland who also projects as a CAM.
                  • Magnus Gerndt (RW, 53-57, 72-78): 16-year old from Sweden who may not progress much more in the academy unless he remains there for another full season.
                  • Cesar Miguel (CDM, 52-56, 72-78): 16-year old from Venezuela who is defensive minded. He needs another season in the academy.
                  • Matthieu Maupay (MID/ATT, 54-64, 71-83)*: 15-year old from France still trying to find his niche on the field.

                  * Denotes recent addition to the academy.

Final thoughts on our roster: solid starting 11 but we need to get more depth especially since we'll be playing in Europe next season. We need to decide whether to promote Vilna to starting CAM because otherwise that's the top position we need to address in the transfer window. Also do we foresee Nimely getting a lot better than he is right now or should we try to upgrade? I want to make a special mention of Dario Verdejo, whose contract was recently extended. He asked to be promoted way back in March of 2015 when ending the season in the academy would had been better for him but we agreed to promote him because we liked his potential, 5-star weak foot and 4-star skill moves. He was only rated at 47. He worked hard at his game, has been lucky to be plucked on loan every season since, and is now rated 62 and our scouts report that he's showing great potential. Proof that not every player promoted early goes on to be a bust. He still has a lot of work ahead of him but has done a great job so far.

Will take suggestions on what roster moves to make for next season

                    FIFA 15 - Season 2

                    Die Freibeuter der Liga

                    October 2015

FC St. Pauli 2 - Bayern Munich 4
                    STP - Michal Mak 5', Çiftçi 33'
                    FCB - Schweinsteiger 4', Muller 10', Lewandowski 84', Robben 90' (Pen)
                    MOTM: Muller

Schweinsteiger opened it up when he got in the box and found the space to receive the ball and fire past the keeper. Michal Mak answered right back with a quick goal sending Boateng past him before cutting it right and beating the keeper. Muller added a long range strike from outside the box to the top right corner to take the lead back. Çiftçi was able to get out ahead of the defense and receive the ball for a first time strike into the left side of the net. Lewandowski tracked raced past the back line as Robben put a cross in and finished it easily for the lead late in the match. Robben the easily converted a penalty to put the match comfortably out of reach in the 90th minute.

FC Schalke 0 - FC St. Pauli 1
                    STP - Michal Mak 7'
                    MOTM: Stanek

Nothe played a great ball over the back line for Michal Mak to run onto moving to his right. He collected it and fired a shot to the far left post just beyond the reach of the charging keeper. Schalke had the upper hand for most of the match registering 16 shots total. Ultimately they couldn't beat St. Pauli's keeper, Jindrich Stanek, making his debut for the club with 11 saves.

FC St. Pauli 2 - SC Freiburg 1
                    STP - Rubin 47', Çiftçi 59'
                    SCF - Klaus 25'
                    MOTM: Rakovsky

Klaus opened it up with a great give and go receiving the ball back in the middle and taking one touch to his left to place the ball around the keeper. Shortly after half Rubin took advantage of a defensive miscue and took the ball away and went through to fire a strong shot to the left post. Gatt got the ball and went on the counter attacking down the middle of the pitch before picking out Çiftçi with a ball up the middle who placed it off the left post and in for the winner. In the 80th minute Freiburg had a chance to equalize after being awarded a penalty, but Rakovsky read it and knocked it away to preserve the win.

                    Deutscher Pokal
                    SV Sandhausen 1 (1) - FC St. Pauli 1 (3)
                    SAN - Wooten 81'
                    STP - Michal Mak 18'
                    MOTM: Stanek

Storm crossed the ball in from the left wing and found Michal Mak's head for a goal into the top left corner of the net. Hartmann in his second ever appearance had a terrible giveaway that led to a tap in by Wooten off a cross to send the match to extra time. After two scoreless periods of extra time it went to penalties where Stanek shined, allowing only 1 penalty in. Conversions by Nothe, Nehrig, and Buchtmann ensured a spot in the next round for St. Pauli. Stanek took home top honors in the match with 16 saves.

St. Pauli Player of the Month

                    Jindrich Stanek

There's no doubt who deserves the recognition this month. Even though he only played two matches this month, he registered an outstanding total of 27 saves in those two. He kept a clean sheet in his debut performance, and should have kept one in his second if not for a terrible giveaway by his back line. Jindrich has now put himself into the conversation for first choice with his two outstanding performances so far.

                    Press Conference
Q: You only dropped points in one match this month. Would you rate your performances as having a bad or good month?

A: I think it was okay. There is always room for improvement, but we looked very good at times. There are still some mistakes we need to clean up, but I am happy with our progress. To be sitting 7th right now with a game in hand is more than most expected of us. I hope that we can prove that this will be the norm going forward.

Q: The one match you dropped points in was the loss to Bayern Munich. This was your first taste against one of the biggest clubs in the Bundesliga. What were you expecting going into the match, and how did it compare to the result?

A: I knew going in that Bayern is everything they are advertised to be. Anyone in Germany, or really anywhere in Europe, knows about them. We prepared for our toughest challenge yet in my tenure, and they were all of that and more. We had a chance to earn a point, but we let two late goals slip away. I am happy with the performance for the most part though, and I think there is a lot we can take away from it and improve moving forward.

Q: Jindrich Stanek was absolutely outstanding in his two appearances this month. Patrick Rakovsky is your first choice, but will there be a possibility of that changing soon if Stanek is able to put in performances like these?

A: Having two great keepers is a wonderful problem to have. Many questioned the sale of Philipp Tschauner, but the fact that we were able to bring these two in is exactly why I was willing to make that move. Stanek has indeed been great, but so has Rakovsky. Rakovsky remains my first choice, but Stanek has certainly thrown his name into the hat if he keeps this up.

                      Glory Glory Man United

                      October 2017

                      Manchester United 3 - 0 Hull City
                      Benzema 15', 69', Bale 84'

"Hull isn't really a good team but it's still good to score three against them. The two B's had a great match and their lethal partnership is starting to work well. Our midfielders did a good job and the defenders had a fine performance."

                      Crystal Palace 0 - 2 Manchester United
                      Chicharito 26', Powell 72'

                      Simulated.

                      Manchester United 1 - 2 AC Milan
                      Bale 41'
                      Saponara 6', Emenike 63'

"This loss was a huge blow to the team. We played poorly and our defending was really bad which lead to us conceding a very early goal. We were never really able to get back into the game and that lead to the loss. I'm disappointed but I'm sure we will beat Milan in the second game."

                      Manchester United 1 - 1 Liverpool
                      Bale 18'
                      Sturridge 7'

"Liverpool is a huge rival of ours and every dropped point against them hurts. Especially when we controlled the game and forced Mignolet to make seven good saves. We weren't concentrated enough from the beginning and conceded another early goal and after that we got unlucky with our finishing. Gareth (Bale) did well to equalise the game. We need to find our form again."

                      Round of 16
                      Manchester United 1 - 0 Hull City
                      Benzema 87'

                      Simulated.

West Bromwich Albion 0 - 3 Manchester United
                      Benzema 45', 49', Lescott 81' OG

"The boys did a very good job to bounce back from our three poor games and I'm glad that Karim (Benzema) got a brace. The third goal should've been his, too. All in all our performance was good today."

                      Manchester United 2 - 0 Bröndby IF
                      Bale 42', Benzema 60'

"I have mixed feelings about this game. We dominated the match and had fourteen shots but only two went in. I was looking forward to beating Bröndby by a huge margin again but it wasn't meant to be. Gareth (Bale) was once again great and Karim (Benzema) had a few good chances, as well."

                      Player of the Month

                      Gareth Bale

The Welsh superstar didn't score the most goals this month but his influence on the games was bigger than anyone else's. Bale destroyed defences, scored four goals and assisted a few more. He's fast, skillful and he has a great shot on him. Right now no-one is able to stop Gareth Bale.

                      Hot or Not

                      Hot

                      Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale was chosen as the player of the month after impressive performaces which means he gets a place on this list.

                      Karim Benzema

After two poor-ish months the French danger man finally found his form again. He netted six goals in the month and performed well in the games he played. Benzema is leading the goal chart in the Premier League and the fans hope he continues to o well.

                      Wayne Rooney

The captain of the team didn't score a single goal in October but he assisted a few and he dictated the tempo of the midfield. He played well and did everything in midfield from defending to attacking. Wazza made some key passes in attack and he hit the crossbar from a free kick.

                      Not

                      Thibaut Courtois

The starting keeper of the team has had an interesting season so far. In some games he's pure class but in some games he can't save everything. The games he played in October belong to the second category. Courtois let in some easy goals and he got benched in a few games.

                      Mats Hummels

Mats Hummels continues to under-perform after having an alright last season. Some experts are suggesting that the German centre back is suffering from fatigue after playing in the Confederations Cup in the summer. Whatever the reason behind his bad marking and bad tackling is, Hummels need to improve his game.

@Falaph: Another amazing month. You've kept a ridiculous 15 clean sheets through 18 matches so far. Not only will you win the Championship by a wide margin, you may be a threat in the Premier League right away next season if you keep up this form.

@10cabee: Glad to see you continue your dominant form in League 1. You should win the title with ease from what I've seen and be moving on to the championship next season. I can't wait to see you in the Premier League since I wasn't able to finish my first year there.

@Sportsfreak: You made some great progress in the final run of the season and moving into 6th is a solid finish. Sucks to hear about having to replay all of those months though. Maybe you will get a chance to move even higher up though!

@Keano: I Agree with what Chico said about you limiting your scouting. I always liked to do that myself as well, with a few exceptions like Americans since I am from the US. Luckily, England is one of the higher chances of getting great players so it shouldn't hurt your academy one bit!

@Cruzerr: Great intro, I think it's safe to say you have us all interested. You do a great job of telling a story in your updates, and I can't wait to see how this one turns out.

@Kenny: Schar and Tiote are both great signings and should fit into your squad nicely. Good to see you advancing in the FA Cup, but unfortunate to see you drop some points in the Premier League, mainly that match against Hull. How many rounds are left in the FA Cup now?

@Vrabbit: Good to see you get that revenge on Villa and the go on to win the FA Cup over Newcastle! 4th place finish is pretty solid, shame to lose out on GD to Arsenal though. I don't think you will have a problem with the playoff-in round for the Champions League spot next season though. What impresses me with your Dagenham career is how much lower rated your squad is compared to your Alcorcon career, but you are one of the best in the Premier League anyway.

@Moose: Cresswell with the impressive goal! The guy has been a solid player this year in real life as well. I have him added on my fantasy premier league team from way early in the year and he was extremely cheap. Absolute steal! Hopefully he continues to develop for you, would be great if he was a couple years younger though.

@Simppu: I knew it wouldn't take you long to get back on top of the table. Great to see Bale keeping up his great form. You talking about how he didn't score the most but was your best player reminded me of stat that since he has joined Real Madrid he has either scored or assisted a goal once every 102 minutes or something like that. Good to see that he's doing the same thing for you!

@Tex There was no chance of me moving higher than 6th, 5th was like 10 points ahead of me at the end of the season

                            Arsenal Career Mode
                            Part 2 - Pre-season

                            Page 894 - Part 1 - The arrival

                            Wenger retires, Cruzerr takes over

Yes, you read it right. The legacy has ended.

Arsene Wenger has officially retired today and has stepped down from the coaching job of London Arsenal football club. The man, who has won the Premier League on 3 occasions and the F.A Cup 5 times, announced his retirement today.

Wenger will go down in the club history as the greatest man ever to coach Arsenal - his biggest achievement was "The invincibles" team, when they went undefeated in the league and won the league.

It was a sad day, as many of the current players, such as Cazorla and Özil, and aswell old legends, like Henry and Pires, came to pay their respect to the legend. However, Wenger himself was proud to finish his coaching career in such a great club.

"I couldn't imagine any place else where I would want to retire. I have had some of my most difficult and some of my greatest moments in life while being a coach of this team - that is the beauty of coaching."

As Arsene stood up, the fans, media and the players gave him a round of applause. However, things were about to get more interesting.

Stan Kroenke then stood up and announced the new manager of the team, Thomas Cruzerr. In a surprising turn of events, Cruzerr has been announced as the new face of Arsenal. It is unknown what other candidates may have been approached. The young 22 year old has never had prior coaching experience, except for coaching his own sunday league team.

With Cruzerr's arrival at Arsenal some pundits consider him to be too inexperienced to take such a job, however, his appointment will no doubt bring change to the Arsenal dressing room.

Roster changes in Arsenal see a few players leaving

It seems like the manager isn't the only thing that is changing in Arsenal.

As their contracts have expired, three players have left Arsenal - Mikel Arteta, Abou Diaby and Joel Campbell. While Arteta played the biggest role out of those 3 players last year, he also has decided to move on due to his age and him being homesick.

Both Diaby and Arteta have joined UD Almeria, a team Arsenal will face in pre-season. Joel Campbell however has decided to stay in England and join Aston Villa. When the new coach Cruzerr was questioned about these departures, he shifted the responsibility on Wenger.

"I was not here when these players left, therefore I can't comment on any of this. What I can say is that Arsene is a--, well, was a smart coach, so I do believe he always does what is best for the team."

That is not all - a bunch of young players have been let on loan, as the list includes players such as Ryan Huddart (to Barnsley), Tafari Moore (to Wycombe), Carl Jenkinson (to Galastasaray), Gedion Zelalem (to Doncaster) and Ryo Miyaichi (to Everton). "We need to send these players out in order for them to grow and return as players that we could use in the first team.

While these changes were all about departures, it left some question whether Cruzerr is going to bring somebody in. "We haven't looked at all the options. I want to see how the team plays in our pre-season matchups, then we can adjust accordingly."

                            Games

                            UD Almeria 0-2 Arsenal FC
                            9', 65' Danny Welbeck

Arsenal had two pre-season matchups, both against Spanish teams - UD Almeria and Malaga. These two games were obviously important, as they were the first proper games for Thomas Cruzerr and gave vision on how Arsenal will play in their league.

The visiting side took the lead early, as some good passing play between Alexis and Debuchy, saw Debuchy open at the side of the box with a cross right onto the head of Welbeck. Arsenal kept control of the ball, not allowing Almeria to create chances.

In the second half, Welbeck managed to bag another goal. Jack Wilshere was now the man on the assisting side of things, as he broke into the box and passed it straight through the defenders, right infront of Danny.

The game ended 2-0 with the fans and the manager certainly being happy.

                            Arsenal FC 3-1 Malaga
                            7' Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
                            10' Juanmi
                            59' Olivier Giroud
                            76' Mesut Özil

The second game of pre-season was, just as mention before, against Malaga. It was also the first game for Arsenal at home ground. And they made sure to impress the fans.

Oxlade-Chamberlain managed to give the hometeam a early goal, as a shot from Giroud hit the post and bounced in the box. However, the Ox was the first one on to the ball and managed to put it away.

Malaga struck back quickly, as Camacho managed to play an cross into the box. With some luck and errors from Mertesacker and Szczesny, Juanmi was the first man onto the ball and his header tied the game up.

Teams went at eachother, but the next goal then came in the second half, as some brilliant individual skill from Giroud got him past his man, open in the box and this time, he made sure it was a goal.

Arsenal was not done there, as a few minutes later, Giroud broke into the box again and managed to give the pass between the defenders to Mesut Özil, who scored and put the game to bed.

The final score was 3-1 - a perfect start for Cruzerr and the Gunners for this season.

Gatt sent in a corner from the left side as Storm held off his man on his back and rose up to head it past the rushing keeper for the only goal of the match. Hannover appeared to be the better team all match recording 58% possession and outshooting St. Pauli 11-2. Unfortunately they were unable to get get one past Rakovsky and St. Pauli held on for the win.

Maxim opened it up early with a wonderful left footed strike from way outside the box to give Stuttgart the lead. Khedira threaded the ball up the middle for Çiftçi who poked it just around the keeper as he came to contest the ball for the equalizer. Klein sent in a great cross that found Maicon between two defenders to head into the top left post for the winner.

The ball was played ahead to Risse on the back post who then played it across the face of the goal for Halfar to tap in for the one and only goal of the match. St. Pauli was able to put 7 shots on target, but couldn't find a way to beat Horn in goal for Koln.

FC St. Pauli 4 - Werder Bremen 2

Khedira drew a foul just outside the top of the box and van Nieff stepped up and drilled it home for the lead off the free kick. Junozovic hit a thunderous strike from the top left of the box on the run that settled just inside the top right corner. Selasse dribbled down the right wing and sent a cross in for Belluschi to rise up and head it to the top left corner. Nothe received the ball outside the box and made a great turn to his left before firing a shot to the far post to tie it up. Nothe had the ball poked away right to Michal Mak who hit it right way inside the near post for the lead. Çiftçi raced down the right wing before faking a shot and cutting it onto his left foot for a strong shot past the keeper to put the match away.

St. Pauli Player of the Month

                              Rani Khedira

Despite not scoring a goal, Khedira left his mark on each game through his contributions everywhere else. He put in two assists, and even drew the foul that led to van Nieff's goal. Yet his most important contributions this month were his ability to win balls and shut down the opposition in the midfield.

                              Press Conference
Q: Mixed results this month, but you stayed in 7th where you left off last month. What can you say about this month?

A: Our attack was the side that struggled for once until the last match. Our creativity was lacking, but I am happy with how we ended the month to carry over into next month. We need to focus on playing complete games on both sides of the ball.

Q: Rakovsky started all matches in goal this month, but only kept one clean sheet. Will Stanek be getting any looks this next month for a start after his performances from last month?

A: Even though he only kept 1 clean sheet, I think Rakovsky had a great month. Stanek will get a chance this month though as I plan to play him in the DFB-Pokal match we have coming up. As to whether he will get any other opportunities remains to be seen.

Q: Even though some goals were allowed, the defense is starting to look better. What is the reason for the improvement this month?

A: It all starts in the midfield. The play of Rani Khedira, Yoell van Nieff, and Christopher Buchtmann have been instrumental in what we are doing out there on both sides of the ball. If they continue to get better we will only see more results go our away the remainder of the season.
