They have a pretty good budget to start with, and I can sell players like Altidore and Giaccherini. Default squads, first transfer window disabled, sim games until September 1, which is when Gus Poyet gets sacked for taking a crap in Harry Redknapp's office. I get poached from Brighton to sort things out.

    2. The second option is Burnley, many of whose new signings like Sordell and Reid are far below Premier League quality, even its lowest rank. They do have the funds in the game to bring in the 2-3 players needed to stay up. I also have to respect that they haven't spent their money before they have received it. The club also has a very family-oriented feel to it, and Danny Ings is a top bloke.

    3. The third option is to go back to one of the Championship clubs with whom I've enjoyed the most success. Nottingham Forest look like they made a huge mistake appointing Stuart Pearce, while Sami Hyppia wasn't exactly the right fit for Brighton. I've won the Premier League and Champions League with both clubs in earlier editions of the game, and it would be nice to enjoy that success again.

I would love to see you do Nottingham Forest. bring them back to their glory days. And they have some great players in to start it with Assombalonga, Lansbury etc.

Also I stongly remember your first Nottingham Forest Career Mode and that was one of my favourites on this thread and set the tone for the way we layout out our career modes.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

So I haven't really posted on my Fulham Career Mode as you probably know.

I've lost motivation to continue it due to the issue I had with the transfer budget (where the game didn't give me a transfer budget due to it thinking that season 2 was apart of season 1) My rants earlier on the thread.

Also with TOTY I've been playing a ton of UT

I've been looking at SoFIFA to check out some teams and found a few good ones in the lower leagues of England.

I will start it on Monday (Due to my Xbox being at my Mums and I'm at my Dads. This is also why when I post career mode updates they are posted alot during one week and none during the other week)

Anyway I'm enjoying all the career modes. It's great to see the thread going strong 900 pages in.

        Truely Amazing

Be proud my fellow career modeders and heres to 1000 pages. Which should be done by the end of February.

I'm on PS3 so I'm guessing it should be the same. When they get injured it'll show a bandage/cross and then you just have to click on the player to see the injury.

                Sigurdsson 86'

                MotM: Saido Berahino

Our first game of the season was at home and included debuts from Clyne, Reid, (facing his old club) and Stambouli. Delph was on the bench after his Pre-Contract arrival. The game got off to a perfect start when Adrian had a poor first touch from a back pass allowing Berahino to run in and snatch a goal just 2 minutes in. Kouyate made things even worse as just a minute later he went through the back of Berahino earning himself a straight red. Berahino then found acres of space on the edge of the box and had time to pick his spot and get a second. Gomis was very unselfish and passed it across to Berahino for him to tap in his hat trick. Reid was very unlucky when he tried to get in the way of a Jarvis shot but it deflected in off his elbow. We controlled the game and Redmond added a fourth goal in the 76th minute after a great move split open the hammer's defense. A mix-up in our defense left space for Morrison to score. Ings dragged O'Brien out of position leaving space in behind for Ings to play Sigurdsson in to score a fifth.

"A fantastic start to the season after an OK preseason. This win puts us in a good position going into the Europa League Qualifier this Thursday."

                Europa League Qualifier Leg 1
                Swansea 3-0 SK Sturm Graz
                Ings 33'
                Delph 57'
                Bony 74'

                MotM: Wilfried Bony

Hayes' first taste of European action came against Austrian opposition SK Sturm Graz. Just 5 minutes in however Dyer had to be replaced by Redmond after picking up a sprained knee. Dyer had cut inside and shot wide from inside the box when Barbaric slid in late catching Dyer's knee. Ings broke the deadlock just after the half hour mark. He tackled the Center half who was coming out with the ball. Bony then passed it into the space left by the Center half and Ings placed it past the Graz keeper. Delph scored his first goal for the club in the 57th minute. Some good play on the edge of the box led to Shelvey playing it to Delph who smashed it powerfully into the corner on the turn. A throw in to Sigurdsson by the corner flag in the 74th minute led to goal number 3. Sigurdsson played it across into Bony who turned and held off the defender to slot it in. Young Spanish fullback Bernat, on loan from Bayern, made his debut.

"A great start to our European campaign! To be honest we could've scored more. The lads were excellent!"

Nathan Dyer is out for around a month with a sprained knee he picked up against SK Sturm Graz.

                Match 2
                West Brom 1-4 Swansea
                Ideye 48'
                Berahino 54'
                Sigurdsson 65'
                Redmond 68'
                Bony 74'

                MotM: Wilfried Bony

Brown Ideye scored 3 minutes after the break to give West Brom the lead and giving Swansea a wake up call. Bony gave the ball to Berahino on the edge of the box. He turned and got into a more central position before firing it past Foster, his old teammate, to equalize. Ideye missed another chance before Redmond found Sigurdsson's run at the front post with a cross from the left. Redmond got one himself 3 minutes later. Bony provided the ball through down the right side of the box. Redmond took a touch and seeing acres of space in the left side of the goal placed it there beautifully. Bony finished the game off taking the ball off Zambrano, the last man, on the halfway line. He sprinted away towards the goal before putting it under the diving Foster.

"A good game where we dominated possession, 57% - 43%, and limited them to only 3 shots on target while taking our chances when they came in the second half after a slow first 45 minutes."

                Europa League Qualifier Leg 2
                SK Sturm Graz (0) 0-5 (8) Swansea
                Ki 30'
                Ki 39'

                Richards 62'
                Amat 66'

                MotM: Jonjo Shelvey

New signing Simone Scuffet made his debut between the posts today. The first chances came in the 8th minute when SK Sturm hit the post from a corner. Ki was the one to break through on the half hour mark. He was pushed forward from his normal CDM position to CM for this game. Bernat passed it into Ki who turned back towards the edge of the box and curled a right footed shot in past the keeper. Ki got a second 9 minutes later when Montero's run dragged the center half out of the way leaving space for Gomis to slide in Ki to send it home past the keeper. Stambouli picked up a slightly bruised shoulder early in the second half and was replaced by Delph as a precaution. A poor back pass led to Montero intercepting it and adding a third. A fourth quickly followed after Richards played a one two with Berahino and then tapped in his saved shot. A Shelvey corner headed in by Amat gave us the fifth. With no need to go for more goals we just kept the ball.

"I'm very happy with the lads after that performance. They stayed professional and kept a clean sheet when they could have slacked off and let easy goals in. We are now looking forward to seeing the draw for the group stage."

                Match 3
                Swansea 4-1 QPR

                Bony 13' Pen

                Austin 51'
                Ings 56'

                MotM: Wilfried Bony

A quick start to the game as Ings had a shot saved and from the resulting corner, swung in by Sigurdsson, Ings chested it down and had his shot saved by Kivrak but Redmond was alert to tap in the rebound. Bony and then Modeste (QPR) had shots strike the post quickly afterwards. On 13 minutes Bony had won and dispatched a penalty. Simpson came in clumsily when Bony was in the air sending him to the ground. Bony made a run in behind the defense and was found by Ings. He turned inside Hill and slotted it away to make it 3-0 with 24 minutes gone. Austin got one back after finding some space inside the box and putting it away nicely. Ings added a fourth however as he dispossessed Dunne inside the box after he received a throw in.

"A solid performance at home in which we scored plenty. Wilfried (Bony) was outstanding again today and has shown exactly why clubs came in with some big bids this summer."

You signed some players for some bargains, How did you sign Clyne for 4 million only and the same for Stambouli. Are you the new Jose Mourinho of transfers?

However, I'm a little upset you sold Williams. He has been a one club player and the captain for a while so to see him leaving is a little sad

What can I say? I'm the special one.

I saw an opportunity to get Reid for free while offloading Williams as he was aging. I'll get 3-4 more years out of Reid than I would have gotten out of Williams. I'm building for the future.

Now I'm done talking to a mere Championship manager. My time is valuable. (Only jk Jagger! )

I understand the Reid deal, I'm a Career Moder that holds onto the long serving players to let them retire.

Really looking forward to this! I was originally going to start a Valencia CM myself before deciding to go to Liga Adelante instead.

Bilbao is pain to beat because they have great defenders and just clear the ball as soon as you get near the box lol

All you need to do now is blame the refs whenever you lose and you'll be a Special One replica
I get that and that's cool. We all have our own ways.

                          I don't plan on losing.

                            1. Sunderland has been stuck in my head for a long time. It feels like I have unfinished business after that career in FIFA 14 began so well before taking such an unexpected turn.

I vote Nottingham Forest. Would love to see you revive the career you identified with the most, and also just the history of the club is something good to build on and try to revive. Also, their transfer budget is nearly identical to Burnley's.

                              Spoiler
Very nice transfers, I like them a lot but like Jagger I feel like you should've let Williams retire at the club. Especially Bernat looks very interesting because I haven't seen anyone use him in career mode. Good results, as well. You should be able to beat Lazio in the Europa League. Looking at how you're doing right now you might have a chance on winning the league.

I just want to point out that mister Corleone of Manchester United is the real special one who also blames referees (and he has been pretty much always very self-confident like Mourinho). All of you are just wannabes who are just envious because I'm a successful manager who does well everywhere and you can only dream about having a squad like mine. Just kidding.

I have a game or two left in November and I'll play them now. The update should be up before six GMT.

I vote Burnley because I'm very interested in a career with them and they have some interesting players. They would be the biggest challenge in my opinion. Nottingham would be an interesting one, as well. They have some good players and they're doing very well in real life.
