Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Arsenal Career Mode
Part 3 - Me against the world
Page 894 - Part 1 - The arrival
Page 896 - Part 2 - Pre-season
Swagger = on.
For once, Thomas felt unique. He was the only 22 year old ever to manage Arsenal and beat Malaga and Almeria. With confidence like none ever witnessed before, Cruzerr walked into the press conference, being the new savior for Arsenal. He knew that the fans were happy, now he had to face the critics.
Ahh, yes, the critics. With all the headlines he had made during the last month, he knew that nothing good came out of this. He saw the press as a girlfriend, who never appreciated the one thing you do right, yet when you do one thing wrong, she would talk about all of your mistakes and problems. He used profanity to describe the press, yet for the sake of telling the story, we are going to leave that out.
Bitch.
Anyway, just like a broken record, he answered questions that had nothing to do with Arsenal or the games that they just had. Instead, the questions were about his personal life and the players who had left team. He was trying to keep his calm, luckily, some guy wanted to ask about the game.
Cruzerr smiled, finally. A question about the matchup they just had. Winning 3-1 made this easy to answer.
"Yeah, uhh, hello. I have a question about todays game. It seemed that when you scored the first goal, Malaga managed to score back instantly. Do you think that could be your weakness and what do you think that comes from, from your inexperience or the fact that the team does not click yet?"
Wow, that just happened. "I believe that it was just that the team loss focus for a moment, but we regrouped and managed to score 2 right after that."
"Yeah, but do you think that this could be abused by other Premier League teams that want to pick off points against Arsenal at the Emirates?"
"I don't think it is that bad - it was just a lapse of concentration. Thinking that teams are going to come here and try to score from a cross right after we just scored is not logical."
One bullet dodged, another one came at Thomas. "Hello, I am from the Daily Mail. I was wondering if you were planning on bringing in any strikers to make the team better? I ask this because it was something that Wenger was criticized for - not bringing in big players."
"At this moment, I have not planned bringing in any strikers, no. I believe the ones that we have are capable of scoring goals."
"So what you are saying is that you don't want to make the team stronger."
Cruzerr had had enough. Being younger than everybody else in the pressroom did not give them the right to insult him. "Look, I am the coach of this team. You are just a journalist. Go ahead, write about it tomorrow, I don't care. I have a job to do. If you think that you can do a better job, go ahead and apply for it. But just think, a twenty year old has made it further than you in your thirtys. Now, we are done here."
Thomas was pissed off - just the thing that the press wanted out of him.
Two days later, Thomas was getting some R&R at his house. Away from all the football and media. However, things changed quickly as soon as Steve gave him a call:
"Yeah, Steve, talk to me."
"Turn on Sky Sports, I think you might want to watch it."
Cruzerr quickly picked up the remote and switched channels. It was same old show with Chamberlin, Carragher and Neville, so Thomas was confused at first. It took him some time to realise what they were actually talking about.
"So," said Chamberlin, "this next tweet comes from Alex and he wants to know from you two - is Arsenal a threat this year, even with a young coach and no plans for transfers?"
"Well, first of all, let us just remind you that this coach is 22 years old. He is a kid, not a man in this business. Arsenal are either really mad or they just said screw it, take the risk," answered Carragher.
"Probably both in all fairness," added Neville with the crew laughing after the smirk comment.
Neville then continued: "Well, they do have a young coach and he said that they don't want to bring in anybody into this team so I guess he is trying to coach himself better players, which is fine, yet if Wenger could not pull it off, how can he?"
"These next matches against Norwich and I think it was Manu aswell will show us a bit about Arsenal, but honestly, I wouldn't bet on them," responded Jamie.
"Do you two think that the new coach is not fit for the job? He took a stab at the journalists, saying that they should lay off him, he is the coach, if they don't like it, they should apply for the job."
"Well, I don't know about you, Ed and Jamie, but to me, I love it when a coach has the guts to take the risks. Saying that will probably not make him popular in the press but he wants to focus on the games, rather than all the yellow papers we have here."
"I am saying this, right." Jamie took a pause, looked to the two men and said: "I think Arsenal will lose against the big teams, they will lose the Champions League spot and they will sack that manager. I don't see how a inexperienced novice comes into the BPL and starts making wonders, if Wenger did not do it. He doesn't even want to sign anybody! It is.."
At that point, he turned the TV off. The pressure of the media and the fans had gotten to him. Everybody is expecting him to fail, yet he doesn't know who to count on. Only himself, he thought.
Thomas then heard Steve still shouting on the other side of the phone, he had completely forgotten about him: "Yeah, Steve, I saw that. Safe to say that the whole nation of England is mocking me."
"Don't worry about it. First game against Norwich is the best place to start proving that you belong here."
"How are we progressing on the transfer?"
"You mean on..uhh, it is pretty much done. He is coming over tomorrow to put the final touches and so, we can announce him before the game."
"Lets see, I want to see him play first in training. Keep in touch."
I hope you enjoyed it guys, please, if any feedback then let me know!Comment

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
January 2015 - Season 1
FIFA 15 (PS4)
Transfer Window
Transfers In
CB - Raul Albentosa (Spain) (70 OVR 26yrs)
Purchased from SD Eibar in exchange for Nekounam
**Player purchased before 1st match of month
The first signing for Osasuna this window is the 6'4" centre back from Spain Raul Albentosa. SD Eibar had sent Osasuna a cash offer for Javad Nekounam, which Chavez denied and instead asked for Raul Albentosa in exchange. Nekounam would be an upgrade for Eibar in midfield and Albentosa isn't a definite starter with the squad, so they agreed to the direct player swap. Albentosa had joined SD Eibar when they had barely been promoted to Liga Adelante, and had achieved promotion to La Liga with them, so he was hesitant about returning to Liga Adelante and asked for a $15k pay raise. Chavez agreed and the player has signed a 3 year contract with a $35k wage. When Chavez was negotiating the contract with Albentosa, Real Valladolid AGAIN tried to steal a player from Osasuna this time by approaching the player directly with a pre-contract offer, but luckily the centre back chose to join Osasuna now over Valladolid's pre-contract offer. Albentosa will wear the now vacant #6 jersey, as he wore with SD Eibar.
RW - Jose David Ramirez (Mexico) (63 OVR 19yrs)
Purchased from Guadalajara for $300,000
**Player purchased after 4th match of the month
Osasuna's second signing was the young Mexican winger Jose David "El Avion" Ramirez. Ramirez is a product of Guadalajara's highly esteemed youth academy which has produced fine Mexican players such as Real Madrid's Javier Hernandez and Real Sociedad's Carlos Vela among others. Ramirez made his professional debut in February of 2014, and immediately made an impact with the fans as he began to take defenders one on one with impressive dribbling and speed right away. Guadalajara had initially set a $1,100,000 price tag on Ramirez, but it looks like Chavez's connections at Guadalajara allowed him to bag the player for only $300,000. It is believed an agreement with Guadalajara was also formed as Chavez expressed his interest in possibly signing the winger/striker Carlos Fierro and the goalkeeper Jose Antonio Rodriguez, both youth academy graduates, in the future. Ramirez will wear the vacant #21 jersey.
CB - Ignasi Miquel (Spain) (66 OVR 22yrs)
Purchased from Norwich City for $700,000
**Player purchased after 6th match of the month
The former Barcelona youth player has chosen to return to Spain and join Osasuna after receiving minimal opportunities to play at Norwich City. Born in Barcelona, the Catalan spent 5 years at La Masia before being released, but his performances with the Spain u21 led him to Arsenal. Miquel belonged to Arsenal for 4 seasons and was then transferred to Norwich City. The Norwich directors didn't complicate negotiations at all and accepted Chavez's first offer of $700k. With the promise of an increase in playing opportunities, Miquel didn't hesitate and signed his contract. Miquel will now be given the opportunity to finally play professional football in Spain, and will wear the vacant #22 jersey.
LB - Xavier Quinti (Spain) (60 OVR 18yrs)
Purchased from Barcelona B in exchange for Vujadinovic
**Player purchased after 7th match of the month
With the arrival of Ignasi Miquel, Nikola Vujadinovic was slowly getting pushed out of the Osasuna B team but the player was already unhappy with his playing time. Due to the LFP transfer policies, Vujadinovic could not be transfer listed by the club, so Chavez tried to find him a team by offering him in player swap deals, although he was unsuccessful. Chavez was reviewing the left backs in the league, when he remembered that in the last transfer window Barcelona B had accepted a $1m offer for Quinti which in the end Chavez wasn't able to go through with. Vujadinovic's value is $1.1m, so he was offered as a player only swap. Barcelona B accepted with no hesitation, and Quinti's transfer was nice and easy. Chavez may have severely overpaid for the young left back, but Quinti is a player for the future. Quinti will wear the #24 jersey for this season.
ST - Federico Palacios (Spain) (59 OVR 19yrs)
On Loan From RB Leipzig
**Transfer deadline day
The German-Spanish striker has joined Osasuna on loan 2. Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. Palacios was born in Germany to Spanish parents, and has played with the German national team at youth levels, but until he gets called up by the senior German national team, he is still eligible for the Spanish national team, and therefore eligible for Chavez's Osasuna. Having played his entire career in Germany, Palacios will now have the opportunity to experience the other side of his heritage and live in Spain for at least 6 months. Palacios will wear the vacant #19 jersey.
Pre-Contract Agreement
RM - David Ferreiro (Spain) (??OVR 26yrs)
Pre-Contract agreement from CD Lugo
Transfers Out
CB - Jordan Loties (France) (71 OVR 30yrs)
Purchased by Malaga CF for $1,400,000
**Player sold after 3rd match of the month
CM - Javad Nekounam (Iran) (74 OVR 34yrs)
Swapped to SD Eibar
CB - Nikola Vujadinovic (Montenegro) (68 OVR 28yrs)
Swapped to FC Barcelona B
LM - Kenan Kodro (Spain) (62 OVR 21yrs)
Loaned to Charlton Athletic

January Matches
Copa del Rey - Round of 16 (1st Leg)
Getafe CF 1 - 2 CA Osasuna
GET: Dae Sung 8'
OSA: Oier 44' Guillermo 80'
Osasuna had a tough matchup against La Liga's Getafe but the underdogs came through. Osasuna started the match holding possession between the midfielders and centre backs with Raul Albentosa making his debut at LCB. Osasuna had possession of the ball, but struggled to get the ball past midfield. Getafe waited patiently and found their chance in only the 8th minute of the match as Dae Sung dribbled into the box and shot past Riesgo. Surprisingly, Getafe focused on defending the lead and gave Osasuna the space to push forward in search of the equalizer. Getafe were doing a great job at holding the Reds until Oier executed a wall pass with Guillermo who lobbed the ball back to Oier as he ran into the box losing his marker. The Getafe goalkeeper came out to intercept it and he had the advantage, but Oier was just barely able to tap the ball with the tip of boot and sent the ball bouncing into the net right before halftime! The first half ended with Osasuna looking much better with more shots and more possession, but in the second half Getafe learned from their mistake and no longer sat back. Possession went back to 50/50 and both teams attacked each other in search for the lead. It wasn't until the 70th or so minute that Osasuna realized Getafe's centre backs are slow, and that's when they really turned things in their favor. Roberto Torres took advantage of Guillermo's speed in the 80th minute and sent him a lob pass anticipating Guillermo's run. The Getafe centre back dove to clear the ball as it came down, but Guillermo showed his class and knocked it forward with his head, engaging the goalkeeper in a one on one, shot the ball past the rushing goalkeeper and into the net! Osasuna had flipped the scoreline! Three minutes Getafe scored the equalizer, but it was ruled offside by the linesmen, causing loud boos and jeers from the home crowd.
CA Osasuna (B-Team) 2 - 0 CD Mirandes
OSA: J. Garcia 4' Alonso PEN 70'
The Osasuna B team followed up on the first team's cup win by getting the 3 points in the league, showing that there is indeed enough talent to compete in both tournaments. Chavez repeated the 4-1-3-2 formation with the B team and once again Jose Garcia showed he can be an effective second striker as he scored another early goal with an incredible, powerful shot. The shot was aimed close to the goalkeeper, but the keeper wasn't able to react in time to save the strong shot. Due to Nekounam's departure, Victor Camarasa was promoted to the first team, and with no replacement from the transfer window yet Chavez had to start the Osasuna youth graduate Mikel Merino (64 OVR) at CM. Merino was actually the surprise of the evening as he delivered a flawless match aiding both in defense and attack, and was even given the Man of The Match award! With Merino keeping the midfield organized with Loe behind him, the B team played a great match threatening to score more goals. The Cameroon international Loe was played through into the box by Julian Luque in the 70th minute and took a shot on goal, but the goalkeeper saved it and sent it out for a corner. Unfortunately, a defender had tried to block Loe's shot by sliding at Loe's feet but the tackle was late, and the referee called a penalty for Osasuna. LB Marcos Alonso stepped up to take the penalty as the designated penalty taker for the B team. Alonso shot to the left, the goalkeeper guessed it right and dove left, but the ball still got past the keeper! 2-0 for Osasuna and very important 3 points as they try to retake the league leadership.
INJURY NEWS
Manuel Onwu suffered a Hyper Extended Knee during the match against Mirandes and will be out for 3 weeks.
Copa Del Rey - Round of 16 (2nd Leg)
CA Osasuna 2 - 0 Getafe CF
OSA: Torres 83' Ansarifard 90'
Getafe needed to win by 2-0 in order to pass to the next round, but instead ended up losing 2-0 against an Osasuna that has been very strong at home in the Copa. The match was very balanced, with Getafe making the win a priority and they did scare the Osasuna fans quite a bit, but unfortunately for them the ball just couldn't get past Riesgo. Osasuna were awarded a corner kick in final ten minutes of the match which the Getafe defenders headed away from danger, but the ball landed on Roberto Torres' feet and the Spanish midfielder took a long shot that found the back of the net. Getafe went all out attack, pushing forward with everything they had, and also allowed Osasuna to set off a quick counter attack that found Ansarifard, who had been subbed in for Guillermo, and the Iranian striker beat the rushing goalkeeper to put an end to any hopes Getafe had of remounting.
Copa Del Rey Update
With an aggregate score of 4-1 in favor of Osasuna, the Reds have made it to the Quarter Final of the Copa Del Rey, becoming the last Liga Adelante club alive in the cup! This amazing cup run may soon come an end though, as their opponent in the quarter final will be none other than the European giants FC Barcelona. Chavez has been able to outplay the La Liga clubs he's faced so far, but this will be the first La Liga opponent that is in the high end of the table.
Albacete 1 - 2 CA Osasuna (B-Team)
ALB: Diaz 21'
OSA: Luque 57' 67'
Again, the Osasuna B team had to take ownership of the league performance due to fatigue, but they did not disappoint and have kept Osasuna alive in the title run. The beginning of the match left several worried faces on the bench as Albacete scored first and held the lead through the first half. The B team pushed forward, refusing to be responsible for a loss in the league while the first team plays their heart out in the cup. Their hard work finally paid off in the 57th minute as the loanee Julian Luque received a ball on the left side of the box, cut in, and took a well placed shot into the net to equalize the match. Ten minutes later, Luque was sent a lobbed pass as he ran into the box and despite his low stature the midfielder was able to get his head on it and the ball was powered over the goalkeeper. Albacete had been focusing on defending the lead and were doing so really well, but once the lead was lost they also lost their organization on the field, and never threatened to get back into the match.
Copa Del Rey - Quarter Final (1st Leg)
CA Osasuna 3 - 1 FC Barcelona
OSA: Guillermo 18' 38' Cuevas 82'
FCB: Suarez 21'
Osasuna, the clear underdogs, managed to use their home field advantage and have actually defeated Barcelona by scoring not one, not two, but THREE goals on the Spanish giants! Both teams were going at it trying to have more possession than the other, when suddenly, barely the 18th minute of the match, the Basque star Guillermo makes a wall pass with Oier who passes back to him in one touch leaving him one on one with Bravo, and Guillermo powers the ball into net! What a huge surprise and the home fans were going wild! Osasuna have scored on Barcelona, it CAN be done! The happiness lasted only 3 minutes though, as Barcelona's marquee signing Luis Suarez received a great pass from Iniesta after Osasuna's captain Flaño gave Suarez too much room, and the Uruguayan easily tapped the ball past Riesgo without a problem. Still though, by scoring already Osasuna showed that they can fight, and in the 38th minute Guillermo struck again beating Pique in the race for a through pass, sprinted past his marker into the box, and again managed to get the ball past Bravo. There was another surprise for the Osasuna fans in the 82nd minute, as Miguel De Las Cuevas finally netted his first goal of the season and against none other than Barcelona. The Spanish midfielder is very talented, but since Chavez's arrival he hasn't been able to find the net, and he has finally been reunited with the goal. Osasuna finish the first leg of the quarter final with a good advantage, but it's not over yet and next week they will have to face Barcelona again, only this time at the Nou Camp.
CA Osasuna (B-Team) 2 - 0 Sporting Gijon
OSA: Vujadinovic 19' Ramirez 75'
The Osasuna B team again showed they have what it takes to cover for the first team in the league, this time by defeating Sporting Gijon. Vujadinovic netted the first goal by heading the ball into the net from a corner. This would be Vujadinovic's last match with Osasuna and what a way to go out. Jose David Ramirez made his debut tonight, and it couldn't have gone better for him as he also scored his first goal with the Osasuna jersey in the 75th minute, as he was given a through pass too close to the goalkeeper but the young winger still managed to get to the ball before the rushing keeper and he tapped it into the net in one touch. Ramirez had a great match overall, making the right flank very dangerous going forward but at the same time tracking back to help out the RB De Frutos, who is naturally a CB and therefore doesn't push forward as much.
Copa Del Rey - Quarter Final (2nd Leg)
FC Barcelona 3(4) - 2(5) CA Osasuna
OSA: Cuevas 4' Guillermo 90'
FCB: Pedro 18' 56' Suarez PEN 33'
FCB: Suarez missed penalty 13'
Barcelona won the match, but Osasuna are through to the Semifinals on aggregate! Osasuna hit the ground running right from kickoff and De Las Cuevas scored his second goal of the season in barely the 4th minute of the match! Guillermo passed the ball to Cuevas who was wide open on the left, he cut in and took a finesse shot into the top right corner of the net, impossible for Bravo to reach. Chavez made the mistake of trying to focus on defending the lead, and Barcelona took over the match. The Catalans were given a penalty in the 13th minute and it looked to be a sure goal for Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan striker tried to chip the ball down the middle but it hit the top crossbar and bounced out! Pedro would make up for Suarez though, as only 5 minutes later he found the net to equalize the match after a mistake by Flaño. Barcelona were awarded ANOTHER penalty in the 33rd minute after a foul on Neymar, and this time Suarez put it into the net with a driven shot again down the middle. Barcelona had the lead but they needed just one more goal to equalize the aggregate. Chavez finally realized that he cannot focus on defending against a team like Barcelona, but it was too late as Pedro completed his brace in the 56th minute to give Barcelona the 3-1 lead and the 4-4 aggregate scoreline. At last, Chavez ordered his players to push forward and the match began to balance out. Messi was substituted into the match in the 64th minute just like in the first leg, and his presence immediately caused several worried faces in the stands as Barcelona needed only 1 more goal to eliminate Osasuna, and Messi was the perfect man to get the job done. We were nearing full time and with neither team scoring it looked like we were going to extra time, but it wasn't to be so! Osasuna's star striker Guillermo flew to glory with a diving header to reach a cross and scored Osasuna's 5th goal on aggregate, allowing Osasuna to go through to the next round! Barcelona needed just one more goal to go through on away goals, but they didn't have enough time to score again and have been eliminated by this year's dark horse, CA Osasuna!
UD Las Palmas 0 - 0 CA Osasuna (B-Team)
The Osasuna first team defeated Las Palmas with a dominant 5-0 scoreline, but the B team weren't able to complete the league double and failed to score for the first time this whole month. The good news was the return of Manuel Onwu who was out injured for 3 weeks, but Onwu wasn't given enough playing time to make a difference on the field. This match was Osasuna's opportunity to equalize Real Valladolid on the league table, but unfortunately Las Palmas were too much for the B team and held Osasuna to a draw.
CA Osasuna Player of The Month
CB - Ion Echaide (Spain) (67 OVR 27yrs)
The Osasuna B team had a great month, playing all of Osasuna's league games while the first team took the cup matches, and many of their great results were thanks to their captain, Ion Echaide. Echaide is a local and homegrown player, born in Osasuna's hometown of Pamplona, Navarre. Echaide joined Osasuna's youth academy and worked his way up the ranks, participating with the Spanish youth national team on all levels. After many loan spells, Echaide has found his place in Chavez's Osasuna, and has even been given the captain's armband with the B team. Echaide was vital in keeping the defense organized and broke down several plays before they reached the goalkeeper Santamaria. Chavez gambled quite a bit by trusting his B team to take over the league matches this month, but Echaide and his men came through and kept Osasuna in the title fight.

January Headlines
Mikel Merino Is Not Letting Go
After Victor Camarasa was promoted to the Osasuna first team due to Nekounam's departure, Chavez turned to the transfer window in search of a midfielder to replace Camarasa with the B team. Chavez wasn't able to sign any in time for the B team's first match, and had to play young Mikel Merino as CM. The local and homegrown player really made the best of his opportunity, and even achieved the Man of The Match award. It is said that after his performance in that match, Chavez canceled the negotiations with other center midfielders in order to give Merino the starting spot with the B team, and the homegrown player hasn't let him down! Merino is solid at recovering and tackling the ball, but he also has the ball control to freeze the game and get plays started. The 18 year old has earned his spot with the B team, and doesn't plan to let go of it anytime soon!
Copa del Rey
Osasuna may have left everything they had on the field against Barcelona, but the tournament is not over yet and have a semifinal fixture coming up next month against Villarreal CF. The Yellow Submarine has a reputation for being a small but successful club, often challenging the best on the field, which is similar to what Osasuna have done in this year's Copa. Villarreal have great talent in their squad, including the Dos Santos brothers from Mexico, and are also known to give Alcorcon's manager Rabbit a tough time on the pitch in the past. In the other semifinal fixture, Valencia will be facing Real Madrid, with the Castellanos being the strong favorites of course.
A Rising Fan Favorite
Young Jose David Ramirez has made a positive impact on the Osasuna fans in his short time with the club, and is slowly becoming a fan favorite amongst the supporters. Many thought he would have a tough time adjusting to the competitive football in Spain, but the young winger from Mexico has shown incredible dribbling skills down the wing, often terrorizing the opponent's left back. Ramirez quickly became a starter with the B team but has had an increasing participation with the first team as a second half substitute, especially when the team is behind in the scoreline. When Osasuna approached Ramirez he had also received offers from Girona CF and Evian Thonon FC, the latter offering much more money than the Spanish clubs, but in the end the player chose to join Osasuna, which is something the Osasuna fans will not forget. El Avion, as he is nicknamed, hasn't even been with the club for a month yet, but he already receives applauds from the fans when they see him coming into the field.
Conclusion
Given our B team's results in the league, I think we had a successful transfer window. I tried to sign higher quality players from La Liga through pre-contract agreements, but they wouldn't agree to come to Osasuna regardless of how much I offered them since we are in Liga Adelante. It was a bummer since that was my focus for this transfer window, but I had to move on and just try bringing in players I could afford at the moment. I brought in Palacios on loan on deadline day just to add depth in the striker position. I noticed that when Onwu was injured, Ansarifard wasn't able to pick up the slack despite having higher overall. Palacios will be a good option to have in case something similar happens again, and it will also be a good opportunity to see if this is a player I should try to sign permanently next season. Girona sold their top striker Sanchon, who was also leading the league with goals, which is good news for Guillermo. He wasn't able to play in the league this entire month but he's still the top scorer! I've been playing ahead since this update took longer for me to type up due to the cup crowding our match schedule, so I just need to type up the February update.
Any feedback is appreciated and as always,

I'm pretty obsessed with it because I experienced the awesomeness of Online Dynasties on NCAA Football and, even though it could always be better, it was hands down the greatest sports feature I've ever seen.
Compete against each other, try to outbid each other for players, scout the same countries and sign a prospect before another one of us does. There's just too much awesomeness in all of that.Check out my Pitt Panthers Dynasty (NCAA Football 14)

@chico what a shocker against Barcelona in the cup! You're turning Osasuna in to a powerhouse that could probably hold their own in la liga
Edit: For those who are wondering why I havent had a Betis update since Saturday(or Sunday I cant remember off the top of my head) It's because I have exams tomorrow and Friday.Last edited by sportsfreak96; 01-21-2015, 10:00 PM.Currently Playing:

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Thanks man! When Guillermo scored the first goal in the first leg, I literally just sat there staring at the screen. I couldn't believe it! The second leg felt more like Barcelona and I really thought they would eliminate me but again Guillermo surprised the hell out of me now in the final play of the match scoring a diving header. If Suarez would have scored his first penalty in the 13th minute I would have been out, but luckily the crossbar was there to save my life.Comment

Press Conference
Q: At the halfway point in the season, you are currently in 6th place. If you were to finish there, it would be considered a very successful season considering the expectations coming in. Will you be able to continue to earn these results the second half of the season?
A: I think what you see now is exactly what you can expect from us. We have a great collection of players who know how to play together and can be dangerous to any opponent. We will only improve from here and I think it would be a bit of a disappointment if we finished any lower than where we sit now.
Q: You got your first chance to go against league leaders Dortmund this month at home. The result didn't include too many positives for your squad. What can you say about the level of play at the top of the league.
A: Dortmund is phenomenal and it showed that day. What they are doing right now is what any club in Germany can only hope to aspire to some day. While the match didn't go our way, it was a good measuring stick for where we are and where we want to be. We know what needs to be worked on now, and those areas will be a focus point moving forward.
Q: You have advanced to the Quarter Finals in the Deutscher Pokal after knocking out Karlsruher SC. You will face FC Ingolstadt next, what do you feel your chances are of getting to the Semi-Finals?
A: Ingolstadt is consistently one of the tougher opponents in the second division. We had some tough matches against them last year, and I know that we won't take this match up lightly. I know that if we come and play our game, we are hard to beat. I think we have a good chance to advance as long as we stay focused.Last edited by texasbum06; 01-22-2015, 03:48 PM.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Villarreal actually eliminated them from the cup. I was crossing my fingers I wouldn't have to face them because I know how tough they are when you face them lol I think I was actually more worried about possibly having to face Bilbao than I was about facing Barcelona haha
Really looking forward to this! I was originally going to start a Valencia CM myself before deciding to go to Liga Adelante instead.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Okay, I think I've narrowed it down to a few clubs. The common link among them is they're all achieving less than they can IRL.
1. Sunderland has been stuck in my head for a long time. It feels like I have unfinished business after that career in FIFA 14 began so well before taking such an unexpected turn. They have a pretty good budget to start with, and I can sell players like Altidore and Giaccherini. Default squads, first transfer window disabled, sim games until September 1, which is when Gus Poyet gets sacked for taking a crap in Harry Redknapp's office. I get poached from Brighton to sort things out.
2. The second option is Burnley, many of whose new signings like Sordell and Reid are far below Premier League quality, even its lowest rank. They do have the funds in the game to bring in the 2-3 players needed to stay up. I also have to respect that they haven't spent their money before they have received it. The club also has a very family-oriented feel to it, and Danny Ings is a top bloke.
3. The third option is to go back to one of the Championship clubs with whom I've enjoyed the most success. Nottingham Forest look like they made a huge mistake appointing Stuart Pearce, while Sami Hyppia wasn't exactly the right fit for Brighton. I've won the Premier League and Champions League with both clubs in earlier editions of the game, and it would be nice to enjoy that success again.Comment
