Cruzerr: Not your best of months. Frustrating to see that Gibbs forced his way out of the club. He could've been a mainstay in the left back position. A shock against Bolton and always sickening to lose by just the 1 goal.

Tex: A decent month with only 1 loss against Dortmund in the last game. Reus is a pain for you. And come on Ireland! You are in a good position in your Europa group. I expect you to qualify.

Indi: It wasn't a great month but your early form has helped you stay up the table. Hopefully next month is a bit more rewarding!

Chico: A good month. Some really good wins in there against Bilbao and Athletico. Napoli was a nice scalp for your B team to claim. 9th in the table is quite good for your first season in LA Liga.

            December 2016

            Europa League Group Stages
FC St. Pauli 3 - Villarreal CF 3
            STP - Werner 3', Bacuna 10' (Pen), Storm 27'
            VIL - J. Dos Santos 40', 90', Gomez 90'
            MOTM: J. Dos Santos

Storm found Werner running down the left side of the box who then hit an absolute screamer with his left foot that went off the crossbar and in. Bacuna then converted a penalty after being dragged down in the box. Storm extended the lead further after van Nieff found him to the right of the goal for a first time finish past the keeper. Jonathan Dos Santos pulled one back with a strike from the top of the box that went off the keeper's hand and in. Dos Santos then added a second one late after making his way to the middle of the box for a tap in off the cross. Gomez got free and received the ball in the middle for another 90th minute goal to pull off the impossible and earn a point from the match.

VFB Stuttgart 0 - FC St. Pauli 3
            STP - Rubin 6', Werner 21', Storm 79'
            MOTM: Bomheuer

Buchtmann's corner was only half cleared by the defense and it fell to Rubin's feet who placed it perfectly to the bottom right corner. Buchtmann got the ball just outside the box and found Werner on the left side of the goal for the first time strike up the middle. Hallberg found Rubin perfectly on a run up the middle who then drew the defense in before laying it off to Storm for the easy tap in.

            FC St. Pauli 2 - Bor. M'Gladback 2
            STP - Michal Mak 9', 41' (Pen)
            BMG - Modeste 63', Nordtveit 65'
            MOTM: Michal Mak

Werner found Michal Mak up the middle to go through on goal and finish to the right side of the net. Buchtmann was taken down in the box to draw a penalty that Michal Mak was able to step up and convert to double the lead. Modeste got out ahead of the defense on the counter and was able to finish a strong shot to the right side of the goal. In a poor defensive display Buballa lost his man on a cross and Nordtveit headed it home into the top right corner for the equalizer.

            Europa League Group Stages
Aalbork BK 0 - FC St. Pauli 4
            STP - Çiftçi 60' (Pen), 71', Michal Mak 90', Storm 90'
            MOTM: Çiftçi

Sobiech was taken down roughly in the box on a corner kick and Çiftçi calmly converted the penalty. Çiftçi then went on a massive run through the defense, hurdling tackles and splitting defenders, before placing it around the keeper to the right side of the goal. Çiftçi got out ahead of the defense on the counter and drew the keeper out before laying it off for Michal Mak to tap in. Michal Mak then set one up as he found Storm on the left side of the box for the right footed finish into the top right corner.

FC St. Pauli 5 - FC Schalke 1
            STP - Hallberg 32', Werner 47', 63', 79', Michal Mak 90'
            S04 - Huntelaar 81'
            MOTM: Werner

Gatt played Hallberg right in the middle of the box for a quick turn and strike with his left foot into the bottom left corner. Gatt then found Werner on a run through the middle for a first time strike back to the right post. Werner added another after getting ahead of the defense on a counter and beating the keeper to the far post. Werner completed a hat-trick after Buchtmann threaded the ball up the middle for Werner to place just inside the left side of the goal. Huntelaar got free on a great run up the middle before firing a strong shot to the top left corner. Buchtmann then attacked to his right before cutting it back and finding Michal Mak in the middle for the easy goal.

            Deutscher Pokal Round of 16
FC St. Pauli 1 - Hertha BSC 0
            STP - Buchtmann 88'
            MOTM: Buchtmann

St. Pauli won the possession battle, but were equaled on shot attempts throughout the course of the match. St. Pauli was able to be more accurate, recording 2 more shots on target than Hertha. It was Buchtmann, the captain, in the end that sealed the game after Michal Mak dribbled left before playing it back right to Buchtmann for a perfect shot into the top left corner.

St. Pauli Player of the Month

            Nikola Storm

The young winger from Belgium was the star of the month. Solidifying his spot on the field with a number of impressive performances this month, Storm recorded 3 goals and an assist. He was also part of the build up in several other scoring chances for St. Pauli. His spot was in question after the addition of Werner, but he proved there is room for both out there.

            Press Conference
Q: You've moved up to 4th in the table after this fantastic month, but the table is still as tight as ever. With half the season left to play do you think it will start to spread out, or will this be a grind all the way 'til the end.

A: I think it speaks to the quality we have in this league. I would be surprised if any clubs started to pull away and the pack was split up. I think that we will all continue to challenge each other down this second half of the season. I can only focus on what we do and try to move up. We had a chance against M'gladbach to move into third, but we were held to a draw. It just shows that there is still room to improve for us and I think it will all come together for this second half.

Q: You have now advanced to the knockout stages of the Europa League. How far can you realistically see your club going in this competition?

A: Realistically? Are you implying that we aren't good enough? The competition is wide open once you move past group stages. In a two leg battle, anything can happen. These are tough teams, but I think we are just as good, if not better, than any team we could come against now.

Q: The January transfer window is opening now. What kind of changes do you think are needed for your squad? Or will you stand with your current group and go down the home stretch without any changes?

A: We are always looking to improve the squad. There are a few positions that could use some more depth, but nothing is a dire move. We will be looking for good deals on players though. I think the biggest need would be a right sided defender, but the players we currently have there do well enough as is. As I said, unless the price is right, we don't need to make any changes to be successful in this second half of the season.

A really good month! Werner, Storm and Mak have been doing really well for you. Good to see you move up to 4th in the league and qualify out of the Europa group. It'll be interesting to see what business you do in January.

                FIFA 15 | PS3 | Season 2 | 2015-16

                The Swans

                May 2016

                May 1st
                Match 34
                Swansea 3-3 Southampton

                Gomis 4' Shelvey 60' Ings 90'
                Pelle 43' 58' Rodriguez 87'

                MotM: Jonjo Shelvey

The B team played this thriller of game seeing the half end 1-1. Gomis who is seeing more game time with Berahino's injury capitalized by getting on the score sheet. A goal for each side opened the second half before Rodriguez must have thought he had snatched the 3 points for Southampton with his effort 3 minutes from time. Ings however was sprung from the bench and he tapped in the equalizer after some goal mouth scrambling. It was an exciting end to end game. The draw sees Chelsea take top spot on goal difference although we still have a game in hand.

                May 4th
                Match 35
                Liverpool 2-2 Swansea

                Remy 36' Sturridge 90'
                Dyer 19' Bony 77'

                MotM: Wilfried Bony

In our last game against one of the big teams in the league this year we went out to make statement. The first half was tight with Dyer and Remy exchanging goals. Bony added his 26th league goal after some nice passing play. We parked the bus to hold onto the lead but Sturridge stole a draw for Liverpool in the last minute. Fabianski was at fault for both their goals. Both were at tight angles and should not have gone in. This result puts us 1 point clear of Chelsea with the same amount of games played.

                May 8th
                Match 36
                QPR 2-3 Swansea

                Fer 37' Austin 90'
                Sigurdsson 18' Delph 41' Bony 72'

                MotM: Wilfried Bony

The first of a run of 3 games against lower opposition to close out the league campaign. We need to win these if we have any chance of winning the title. We switched to a 4-2-3-1 to try and keep my limited strikers rested Sigurdsson returned with a goal 18 minutes in. He played a one two with Bony before sliding under Kivrak. Fer equalized after our defense was caught napping. A beautiful Delph header from a Dyer cross restored our lead going into the break. Bony then extended out lead with 72 minutes gone, also a header but this time from a Clyne cross. We conceded another last minute goal though after Stambouli had a horrible touch that fell right to Modeste and he played it to Austin finish the game 3-2. We have now secured a top 4 finish at the very least.

                May 11th
                Match 37
                Swansea 2-1 Cardiff

                Gomis 45' 58'
                Macheda 63'

                MotM: Bafétimbi Gomis

In our last home game of the season we faced Cardiff in a Welsh derby. We started well with some good chances and the breakthrough came from Gomis as he headed in a parried Emnes shot on the stroke of halftime. Emnes and Gomis hassled the center halves and the ball broke free in the box allowing Gomis to grab a second of the match. Macheda pulled one back but it wasn't enough as we were in total control registering 14 shots with 9 hitting the target. We also had the pleasure of relegating our rivals from the league with this victory.

                May 14th
                FA Cup Final
                Swansea 3-1 Manchester City

                Ings 49' Bony 95' Emnes 114'
                Benzema 12'

                MotM: Wilfried Bony

After a 3-1 defeat to them last month, all be it with our B team, we wanted revenge and to lift our first piece of silverware under Hayes' reign. Benzema struck first for City 12 minutes in with his edge of the box strike and Scuffet kept us in the game with save after save in the first half. Bony had our only real chance on the half as we went into the break 1-0 down. Hayes put fire in the team's bellies and Ings equalized 4 minutes in, after some good early pressure. Bony passed it inside the box to Ings who turned past the center half and buried it. We had a period of pressure before City had chances to win it at the death. Extra time was needed however. Hayes' team talk was given again and it worked massively when Bony took the lead in the 95th minute. He exchanged passes with Delph who slid him through. He turned back onto his right foot and curled it around Caballero. City cranked up the tempo and Benzema came close with a long range effort that clipped the post. It was us who struck next however as Emnes put the icing on the cake. Bony passed it into him and he dribbled in and out of Mangala working space to fire a shot low and hard to the left of Caballero. In a game that was even in everything except the shot count (17,8 to 4,3) in favor of City the Welsh side triumphed earning Hayes' first trophy since taking over.

                May 18th
                Europa League Final
                Swansea 2-0 Napoli

                Ings 3' Bony 58'

                MotM: Danny Ings

Napoli, who beat Spurs in the Semis, stood in the way of European glory for the club from Wales. Full of confidence after their FA Cup win 3 days before the team went out and scored within 3 minutes thanks to an Ings special. Bony slipped him through and he took it onto his right foot before placing it past Rafael. We continued to dominate the first half with Ings terrorizing the Napoli back line. Bony then made it 2-0 in the 58' after Rafael made a terrible clearance up into the air which Ings headed down to Bony. He took it beyond the defense and punished Rafael for his mistake. That proved to be the final goal as we were in total control throughout the rest of the half. A second trophy in a week for Hayes and he now looks towards the final day of the season where a victory against Villa will secure the league and a memorable treble for the Welsh club.

                May 22nd
                Match 38
                Aston Villa 2-2 Swansea

                Sanchez 47' Weimann 62'
                Emnes 22' Centurion 28'

                MotM: Ki Sung-Yeung

Wanting to end the year with a win we headed to Birmingham to play Villa at Villa Park. Win this game and we win the league unless Chelsea slip up against West Brom. We were 2 up inside the first 30 minutes with goals from Emnes and Centurion. Bony set up Emnes to curl past Zoet in the Villa goal. Then a Montero cross found a free Centurion who acrobatically headed it past Zoet for a second time in the match. Emnes had 2 more chances before Sanchez pulled one back shortly after the restart. Weimann then put worried looks on the Swans supporters with his equalizer just after the hour mark. We were unable to find a winner and the game ended 2-2. However thanks to West Brom, who came back in the second half from 1-0 down to earn a 1-1 draw, we managed to clinch the title by virtue of goal difference.

Swansea City Player of the Year

                Wilfried Bony

The Ivorian was undoubtedly our best player this season racking up 45 goals and 17 assists in 45 appearances for the club. He claimed the Golden Boot in the Premier League and finished 2nd for the most assists made. In all he was involved in a massive 62 goals this year. AN incredible achievement and he is still 27. So he has a good few seasons left to contribute.

Oh wow, congratulations on winning the treble! You did amazingly in all competitions and you beat some very good teams this season. I bet you felt great when you won the league on goal difference. You can go far in the Champions League next season. I'll make a wild guess: there will not be any huge deals made by you in the transfer window. The team looks very good right now. Good luck next season!

I'll make a wild guess: there will not be any huge deals made by you in the transfer window. The team looks very good right now. Good luck next season!
Thanks! I have to admit when the final whistle went in the Villa game I thought I had blown the league as surely with Chelsea winning 1-0 at half time against West Brom they would win. Then I saw my players celebrating and I was like, hey! They must have drawn/lost and I felt terrific!

I forgot to mention that Taylor demanded a transfer. (I know who after winning the treble would want to leave!) I want to try and get Bernat from Bayern permanently but now I'll have to get someone else in as cover. I don't know where else to strengthen though. I'm considering leaving Gomis go and playing a 4-2-3-1 more with Sigurdsson playing more than last season. In that case I'd go for another CAM to have with Sigurdsson and Shelvey. What do you guys think?

Also the Squad Review will probably be up sometime tomorrow.

                              AD Alcorcon - '21-'22 Season
                              October Update

                              League Match 8
RCD Mallorca - AD Alcorcon (0-3)
                              Correa 3'
                              Lopez 27'
                              Farago 45' (Lopez)

Recap: You may remember Mallorca was a royal pain in our behinds last season, eliminating us in Copa Del Rey in Round of 16 and going undefeated against us (1 draw, 1 win) in league play. Well in this game we continued our trend of defeating lower-rated teams that have given us trouble in the past by going ahead and early and sealing the win by the time the first half ended.

                              League Match 9
AD Alcorcon - Sevilla FC (3-1)
                              Lopez 16'
                              Correa 21' (Miguel)
                              Miguel 34' (Correa)

                              Markovic 36'

Recap: Good to get a win against an always tough Sevilla but we had a lot of sloppy play all goals aside which put Courtois to work more than usual. Thankfully he's one of the best and he shined, gathering 12 saves and finishing with a 9.5 game grade to earn MOTM.

Champions League - Group Stage, Match 3
                              AD Alcorcon - Arsenal (2-3)
                              Pauletta 15'
                              Correa 51'
                              Ramsey 59'
                              Wilshere 75'
                              Farago 84' (Correa)

Recap: Our winning streak to start the season is over after a very good Arsenal team played an excellent game, baffling us for much of it. To the lads' credits they never gave up, lead by Correa who usually puts the team on his shoulders in games such as this one, but Arsenal was just too good. Ramsey's goal was a beauty from outside the box just a few minutes after Correa had equalized the game with a lot of work. Wilshere's goal all but sealed the deal but Correa set Farago up to put us a goal away; it just wasn't enough. That was an 11-game winning streak to kick off the season (14 if you count pre-season), though we still have a winning streak going on in La Liga and we will try to keep that going for as long as possible.

                              League Match 10
Athletic Bilbao - AD Alcorcon (1-2)
                              Correa 17' (Farago)
                              Farago 68'

                              Oscar Gil 83'

Recap: Bilbao is one of the best teams in La Liga this season but we were able to go into their home and get ahead within 20 minutes, then keep up a solid game plan and patiently go up 2. Bilbao eventually made it close near the end but we were in control for most of it and keep up the winning streak while pushing down one of our closest opponents in the standings.

                              League Match 11
AD Alcorcon - Valencia CF (3-0)
                              Lopez 3' (De Sciglio)
                              Knoll 51'
                              Morientes 77' (Correa)

Recap: With only 1 day of rest after our trip to Bilbao we were forced to play most of our B team in this one. No sweat as we keep up GREAT form in dismantling a top-5 team in the league with easy. It didn't hurt De Sciglio's return from injury happen to coincide with this game, always good to get an early lead thanks to a Lopez who continues to lead the league in scoring.

                              League Match 12
Real Zaragoza - AD Alcorcon (2-3)
                              Melano 26'
                              Correa 28' (Lopez)
                              Melano 50'
                              Correa 79'
                              Correa 81' (Farago)

Recap: Un-BAH-lievable. Another come-from-behind win. Another late winner. Correa steps up again when the going gets rough. The winning streak continues. I don't know if I can take this anymore. When Farago fed Correa from midfield on the counter attack I felt my heart going a thousand miles an hour. Will he score? No doubt, he's deadly on a counter with his speed and skillful when finishing. The Argentinian star closes the month with 7 goals scoring in 5 of the 6 games.

                              Liga BBVA Standings
                              1. AD Alcorcon - 36pts
                              1. FC Barcelona - 30pts
                              3. Athletic Bilbao - 30pts
                              4. Real Madrid - 29pts
                              5. Valencia CF - 25pts
                              6. Real Sociedad - 22pts

                              7. Sevilla FC - 20pts
                              8. Atletico Madrid - 19pts
                              9. Villareal - 19pts
                              ...
                              18. Granada CF - 6pts
                              19. RCD Espanyol - 5pts
                              20. Malaga CF - 5pts

                              Champions League - Group G
                              1. Arsenal - 9pts
                              2. AD Alcorcon - 6pts

                              3. Bor. M'gladbach - 3pts
                              4. Molde FK - 0pts

We weren't going to stay undefeated forever and there's no shame in losing to the outstanding roster Arsenal possesses (they have a 90 OVR Iker Guarrotxena - glitched? - coming off the bench). On the other hand it's amazing to start the season with an ongoing 12-game winning streak in La Liga and you have to start wondering how long we'll be able to keep that going for. As far as domestic winning streaks we're not even a third of the way to Benfica's all-time record 29-game streak in 1971-1973 but we are very close to the La Liga record of 16 games held by Barca's 2010-2011 squad. Looking at winning streaks to start a season we're only halfway to the 25-game winning streak Celtic FC achieved in Scotland in the 2003-2004 season. This success comes with a caveat thought: it's EXHAUSTING. Doesn't mean we won try our best to keep it going but it'll definitely be a tough challenge.

As you may have expected, Angel Correa was named Player of the Month and he's now tied with Nico Lopez for the LEAGUE lead in goals with 10. Farago leads the league in assists with 6 while Courtois is tied for the league lead in clean sheets with 6. Unfortunately the Belgian will be falling behind in that race after suffering a broken metatarsal in practice at the beginning of November and he's expected to be out of action for 8 weeks. Next man up at goalkeeper is a severe downgrade in academy-product Carlos Alberto and the 21-year old from Argentina will need to grow up quickly to keep the Potters undefeated in the league.

In academy news we mentioned last month that our scouts were sent to Ivory Coast, Norway, the United States. We have received the first reports from all 3 of them so let's take a look at the youth squad:
                              • Mansour Haron (CB, 62-66 OVR, 85-91 POT): 17-year old from Saudia Arabia who understands (for now) that he's better served staying in the academy and working on improving his game as there are already too many guys as good as him on the senior roster. Of course, his mammoth size (6'6", 198 lbs) does give him a certain edge.
                              • Omar Vindheim (CDM, 45-57, 73-93)*: 15-year old from Norway described as defensive minded. Stands strong at 6'2", 167lbs.
                              • Julio Gutierrez (LW, 56-60, 73-79): 17-year old from Spain who needs to continue to work on his game in the academy. Will be promoted if he asks to but he'll be nothing but a loan candidate.

                              * Denotes recent addition to the academy.

Current roster (* Denotes player graduated from the youth academy):

2022 World Cup - CONMEBOL QUALIFIERS

                              Colombia - Argentina (1-0)
                              Quintero 12'

                              Brazil - Argentina (1-0)
                              Neymar 18'

Comments: nightmarish final games in these qualifiers, completely whiffing on the opportunity to finish in 1st place. Luckily we had already clinched our passport to Qatar so we're still going to next year's World Cup but these losses were highly disappointing and continue to leave the Argentinian fans anxious about what kind of results we'll produce at the most important event of all.

CONMEBOL WC Qualifiers Standings - FINAL
                              1. Brasil - 40pts

                              2. Argentina - 33pts
                              5. Chile - 32pts

                              6. Peru - 20pts
                              7. Ecuador - 18pts
                              8. Paraguay - 16pts
                              9. Venezuela - 13pts
                              10. Bolivia - 9pts

Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, and Argentina qualify for the 2022 World Cup while Chile will have to play a two-leg qualifier against the 5th place team from the Asian Football Confederation.

                              Opponents in November:

                              11/2 - Bor. M'gladbach
                              11/7 - Real Madrid

                              11/13 - Egypt (Argentina, Friendly)
                              11/17 - Sweden (Argentina, Friendly)
                              11/21 - Deportivo
                              11/24 - Arsenal (Champions League)
                              11/28 - Villareal

                                League Match 11
                                Dagenham - Fulham (1-4)
                                Williams 18'
                                Hernandez 44'
                                Frei 62'
                                Monzon 67' (P)
                                Kasami 78'

Recap: No other way to say it, the Daggers were embarrassed by a hungrier Fulham team trying to remain on top of Dagenham in the standings. Fulham was lethal with their shots on goal but even then when Monzon shortened their lead midway through the 2nd half it still seemed as if Dagenham could at least steal a point. Kasami's goal then sealed the fate of this game, a surprising poor showing by Paez's team after they went undefeated in October.

Champions League - Group State, Match 4
                                Dagenham - FC Bayern (1-0)
                                Locadia 72' (Toral)

Recap: Outstanding bounce-back performance by the East London squad playing last year's European champions punch for punch, then delivering a crushing blow in midway through the second half courtesy of a Jurgen Locadia who is starting to settle in as the main scorer for the club after getting off to a rough start. The win also propels the Daggers to first place in the group.

                                League Match 12
                                Stoke City - Dagenham (1-2)
                                Araujo 16'
                                Locadia 39' (Elito)
                                Nimely 72'

Recap: The always troublesome Stoke tried their best to put the Daggers on a league losing streak but the two hottest scorers for Dagenham made sure to get the team on the right track.

                                League Match 13
                                Dagenham - Liverpool (2-2)
                                Dani Pacheco 29'
                                Kim 60' (Elito)
                                Elito 67' (Victor Andrade)

                                Sturridge 74'

Recap: Very entertaining game by two teams that are always evenly matched. Both teams had the lead at one point but in the end they both come away with just a point, not a bad result for the Daggers against one of the top teams in the standings at the moment.

                                League Match 14
                                Newcastle Utd - Dagenham (1-4)
                                Locadia 8'
                                Victor Andrade 23'

                                Andre 24'
                                Wilkinson 74' (Toral)
                                Toral 87'

Recap: The Daggers reversed the score from their loss earlier this month in a complete domination at St. James' Park. This game also marked the first time Dagenham's starting strikers each scored in the same game. After struggling as a starter at LM and returning to the bench Toral has found his niche as the main backup to Vilna at CAM, giving him a lot of opportunities for playing time due to the youngster's low stamina.

Champions League - Group State, Match 5
                                Galatasaray SK - Dagenham (0-3)
                                Locadia 42' (Reyna)
                                Nimely 86'
                                Reyna 90' (Victor Andrade)

Recap: Yordy Reyna's return from injury not surprisingly coincided with the Daggers' best performance in the Champions as Dagenham controlled this game (IN TURKEY) from beginning to end and only and outstanding game by Ufuk Ceylan (15 saves, 9.4 game rating) kept it from being an embarrassment for the hosts). The win also clinches a spot for Paez squad in the Round of 16 and keeps them in 1st place in their group although they will more than likely need to win their last game vs Marseille to keep Bayern in 2nd place.

                                4. Manchester Utd - 27pts

                                6. Arsenal - 23pts
                                7. Fulham - 22pts
                                8. Dagenham - 21pts
                                ...
                                18. QPR - 11pts
                                19. Swansea City - 8pts
                                20. Crystal Palace - 7pts

                                Champions League - Group E
                                1. Dagenham - 10pts
                                2. FC Bayern - 8pts
                                3. Marseille - 6pts
                                4. Galatasaray SK - 2pts

Disappointing start there for sure but a very good month thereafter and it sure feels like Dagenham is about to go on really good streak of performances now that Reyna is back and as good as ever. The Daggers continue to creep up the standings after sitting in 12th place two months ago. Unfortunately their success during Reyna's absence wasn't too significant as they only gained two points on 5th place since the end of September and are actually one point further behind Chelsea than they were then. The board wants them to finish top 4, which is still a very achievable goal, but they were hoping to contend for the league title and they have their work cut out for them to get into that mix.

Another great sign is the resurgence of Jurgen Locadia who will surely need to stay in this form if Dagenham wants to accomplish their goals. Locadia is now tiend with Nimely for team lead in goals with 8 whole Medy Elito and Victor Andrade share the team lead in assists with 9 each. Locadia's 5 goals in the PL are 4 behind Dani Pacheco's 9, while Elito leads the PL in assists with 6 (Victor Andrade is tied for 2nd with 5). No Dagger is anywhere near the lead in goals in the Champions League buth Nimely and Victor Andrade are among a group of 6 players with tied for the most assists with 3, while Nicola Leali is making up for his average form in the PL by racking up a competition-best 4 clean sheets in the Champions.

In academy news the second reports from our scouts in Venezuela, Croatia, and Netherlands have come in and more additions have been made to the group. Let's take a look at the youth squad:
                                • Fernando Romero (LW, 63-67 OVR, 88-94 POT): 16-year old from Uruguay who is undoubtedly our top prospect at the moment. There's a chance he will be played at striker in which case he could contribute as early as this season, but he'd probably benefit more from a full season in the academy.
                                • Victor Soriano (GK, 58-70, 79-94)*: 15-year old from Venezuela who is highly regarded and has a chance to become a special youngster in the PL if he sticks in the academy for a couple of seasons.
                                • Pavel Vrhovec (MID/ATT, 48-62, 75-94)*: 16-year old from Croatia already showing some good speed in the academy. Initial projections place on on the wings or at CAM.
                                • Damiano Janse (DEF/MID, 44-52, 77-94): 15-year old from Netherlands who early on projects to be a defensive midfielder. Academy coaches are very excited to report that Janse seems to be a better prospect than initially reported.
                                • Dean Murphy (LM, 64-68, 81-87): 17-year old from Ireland who projects as a complete midfielder with excellent ball control. Technically gifted.
                                • Nathan Kenny (RM, 63-67, 83-89): 17-year old from Ireland also described as technically gifted and also projecting as a complete midfielder.
                                • Sean Foran (LM, 62-66, 83-89): 16-year old from Ireland who is the fastest out of all the Irishmen in the academy. Our midfield could be 75% Irish in the near future.
                                • Esteban Navarro (DEF/MID, 48-58, 75-93): 15-year old from Venezuela who is also expected to stick around one of the midfield positions. Coaches also feel his skills/potential are better than initially indicated.
                                • Fabrice Mengual (RM, 56-60 78-84): 16-year old playmaker from France who actually projects as more of a CAM.
                                • Pablo Escobar (CAM, 60-64, 74-80): 17-year old from Venezuela who likely won't improve much more this season unless he stays in the academy until May.
                                • Matthieu Maupay (CAM, 57-61, 74-80)*: 16-year old from France finally settled in at a position. Described as an attacker.
                                • Ciaran Kavanagh (CM, 58-62, 72-78): 16-year old from Ireland who also projects as a technically-gifted CAM.
                                • Magnus Gerndt (RW, 53-57, 72-78): 17-year old from Sweden who may not progress much more in the academy unless he remains there for another full season. It's possible he may be promoted in hopes he'll receive a loan call this upcoming winter but the team has yet to make a decision.
                                • Cesar Miguel (CDM, 52-56, 72-78): 17-year old from Venezuela who is defensive minded. He needs another season in the academy.

                                * Denotes recent addition to the academy.

Current roster (* Denotes player graduated from the youth academy):

                                J. Martinez 63'

Comments: It was probably too much to ask of the B team to beat Colombia's main guys twice in 3 months, they still performed well and battled throughout. The C team then got away with a win thanks to a couple of breakdowns by the All Whites that were cashed in by Josef Martinez but the most memorable aspect of this game was the debut of 15-year old Victor Soriano, a member of Dagenham's youth squad, with La Vinotinto. He wasn't tested much.

                                Opponents in December:

                                12/8 - Cardiff City
                                12/11 - Marseille (Champions)

12/29 - West Ham United (EAST LONDON DERBY!)

Think we can jump into the top 5 next month?
