Jesus, and then they said that Corleone was violent, abusive and crazy haha. I'm really enjoying those little write-ups where we can see how the manager feels and how he's shouting. Also, some great results there! I'm sure you are in the top three.

      Games

      Premier League
      Matchday 24

      Arsenal 1-1 Stoke City
      35' Oxlade-Chamberlain (Özil)
      84' N'Zonzi (Adam)

Time to start a new month with the team finally being cemented. Our first game of a very few ones this month was against Stoke at home, a rather unpredictable team, yet one that shouldn't give us much trouble. I also put in Alex Sandro for this game to see his play.

Things started rather well for us. We were moving the ball really well and creating chances, and we were awarded with a goal - a fantastic one to add to that. Ox got open just inside the box and smashed it in. It bounced off the post, but it still went in.

After that, the team somehow lost their attacking motivation and fell back, so I was motivating them to go up more and create chances. Yet, Stoke managed to score one back in the very end - a scramble in the box got first cleared by Mertesacker, but it got crossed back in by Adam. The ball was bouncing around and N'Zonzi was the first one to it. It was a rather poor volley, the keeper should have saved it, but I think it would have been a penalty if it wouldn't have gone it - Sandro took him down in the box.

The game finished 1-1, not the greatest way to start at all.

      Premier League
      Matchday 25

      Swansea 2-2 Arsenal
      16' McCarthy (Özil)
      40' Koscielny (Sanchez)
      66' Valencia (PEN)
      85' Fred (Morrison)

So, after the poor start, we took a small trip and faced Moose and West Ham. I was hoping for a good win, since we really needed to bounce back last game. Things started well, Özil got himself open in the box, but he passed it to McCarthy, who slammed it in from the outside of the box. We looked pretty good on the ball and attacked with style.

Just before half-time, we scored another one - Kosc was on it from a perfect corner delivered by Sanchez. We looked really good, but second half - the Hammers started hammering us, just like nails. I guess they went with a more physical approach, and it certainly worked, as it was the goalscorer Koscielny, who took down Enner in the box and gave them a penalty. Valencia scored it with ease.

They looked like a completely different team from second half, so I was scared. And just before the end of the game, Fred, out of all the tough players in West Ham, broke into the box and scored the equalizer. The game finished 2-2, I was gutted - giving away a 2 goal lead was no way to challenge for the title.

      Premier League
      Matchday 26

      Cardiff City 1-0 Arsenal
      59' Daehli

Two poor games, we had to pick up points now to catch up to Chelsea again. Just before our game in CL, we went away again to face Cardiff. Safe to say that I was expecting us to get 3 points, yet things were looking very poor.

We were pressuring, yet you could really see that we were just lacking focus and determination. And when Daehli took a shot, I think it was the first one for Cardiff, he scored it - a rocket into the top corner, nobody got near him to stop it. So, instead of actually beating teams, we dropped seven points from nine this month in BPL. I was just hoping this poor form wouldn't continue in the Champions League, because if it did, we would have no chance.

      Champions League
      Round of 16
      Leg 1

      Sevilla FC 0-2 Arsenal
      16' Welbeck (Özil)
      49' Welbeck (Özil)

Now was time, the most important game of the month and the last one to add to that - the Champions League Round of 16. I couldn't say if the draw was lucky towards us, since we were suppose to face Sevilla, not a easy team to go against. And considering it was another away game, our third one in a row, I wasn't liking our chances.

Instead of my normal self, I was rough on the boys today - and they really felt it, since they knew a lot was on the line. But they looked really good on the pitch, and the two usually suspects, Özil and Welbeck, combined to a usual goal and we took the lead very early. We did not let go of the throttle, constantly pressuring and taking shots, but their goalkeeper, Beto, was really keeping them in it. However, a cross into the box and Welbeck was the only one going for it - 2-0! Fantastic stuff.

I was really relieved, since I had hoped our poor from in the league wouldn't carry in to Europe. The game finished 2-0, a comfortable lead going into the next game at the Emirates. It was a very rough month, but atleast it ended well.

      Barclays Premier League Table

Champions League Round of 16 Results
      Leg 1

      Fenerbache FK 0-0 SL Benfica
      Real Madrid 1-2 FC Bayern
      Juventus 1-2 Bor. Dortmund
      Sevilla FC 0-2 Arsenal
FC Schalke 04 1-1 Manchester City
      Inter 1-0 FC Barcelona
      LOSC Lille 1-1 Chelsea
      VfL Wolfsburg 1-2 Marseille

So, that was February, not a good month for me at all - hopefully March will be a lot better. I hope you enjoyed the post, please comment if you have any feedback or what not!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Right, here is my recap about everybodys posts and stuff.

@Kenny77 - You beat Arsenal, so I won't check your career mode anymore. Deal?

Nah, jokes. You are not doing bad at all, do you enjoy writing like you did in the last post? It seems like you do, atleast when I read it, I get that vibe. You are a complete goal factory, holy. I wish you the most of luck man, keep it up! What position are you in?

@Chicobass - You defeated Madrid, you defeated Bilbao, you even played and defeated Napoli - is this really Osasuna? Your writing style really impresses me, it seems like a lot of work and I honestly want to tell you that you put a lot of effort into it and that really deserves some respect, well done. Keep it up, man.

Darder looks like a really gem, but your team is full of them. What OVR is Guillermo at this moment?

@Tex (You don't mind if I call you Tex, right?) - A few spots higher, but it seems like the games itself were really interesting to play - a lot of goals, a lot of pressure. Out of the blue, Storm being the POTM. You completely manhandled Schalke and Stuttgart. Who is your next opponent in the Pokal?

Also, you made some good moves to strengthen your team.

@Keano16 - Holy, you cleaned up good. Congrats! You won the league, it was really close but you pulled it off. So, next season is all about CL? :P

@Moose - Yaya going to be a West Ham player next season?

Another great vid, a really close win there against City, love the title! You played well against Swansea, I don't think Keano is happy about it.

@vrabbit - (Alcorcon) You lost to Arsenal, so everything is fine. Your roster is so fantastic, I gotta say. It seems you got the score wrong against Zaragoza. Correa is really good, I have always rated him highly.

(Dagenham) I gotta ask, does it get bored or like, maybe bored is the wrong word but frustrating posting 2 career modes? Anyway, the way you perform in the league and the way you perform in the CL are like day and night, hopefully you can pick up a bit of form and play well in the BPL aswell.

@Biloxismitty - Great team pick, always liked Valencia. Also a good start in August, seems like that Malaga game was really fun!

@10cabee - Don't worry, we all are busy, atleast I am. Just post when you feel like it and it is fine. Also, about your post, you are just dominating, doesn't it get boring? lol

You are so far up front, so no pressure even. Just like Kenny, your team is a goal factory.

@Simppu - Not great performances in the league, yet you did really well in the Europa League. Choupo-Moting doing work, I have to admit. The fight for the first place in Seria A is really close, hope you can bounce back and go ahead of Juve by far.

Tough match against Southampton, and really surprised to see you bow out of the FA cup against Bolton. Good results otherwise though, and you remain atop the table, although Chelsea is right there with you on points.
So far, replacing Gibbs hasn't played out yet, but we shall see. Alex Sandro is really good, but I somehow enjoyed Gibbs a lot. I was really surprised to pick up Alderweireld from FA, he is quite good. I need to bounce back from February, because Chelsea really had a lead at this moment.

It's interesting how little of an impact it seems that Sanchez has made (or maybe that's just me) but it seems like every win you pick up has a few goals from Dat Guy Welbz.
What can I say, Welbeck is a beast in FIFA. Sanchez is really good but somehow, he doesn't get on the assist or goal sheet that often. But he is like Hazard - you have to have him in the team.

Cresswell is a really good mention, but he isn't starter material in Arsenal imo.

Well, if you thought that month was bad, check out February. Getting rid of Gibbs is not good, it really wasn't the thing I wanted to do, since he has improved and he broke into the England National team aswell.

Actually, Rosicky is quite fine in this game - a great player to have on the bench, yet to be honest, he doesn't want to stay on the bench. Sandro, I mean... he wasn't great in February, hopefully he can be better in the upcoming months.

Don't mind it one bit! Storm really stepped up this month and the combination of him and Werner on the wings is deadly. Next opponent is Schalke! I've had good luck against them so far, but every game is a different story.

You seem to be doing pretty well for your first season in the top flight. And don't worry, I'm not going to use a takeover either. The struggle is where it's at! Southampton are the ones to receive a cash injection in my game. It'll be interesting to see what they do with it. As for formations, like I stated in my reply to Moose, I have found something interesting in the 4-4-2 Holding with custom player instructions. I find myself able to keep the ball so well, and the way I have my team set up, I don't feel the lack of a CAM at all. Mackay-Steven had been playing in a free role behind the strikers in a 4-4-2 diamond until the end of October, but we now have him at LM in the 4-4-2 Holding. This lets him play as a false CAM, because while he has been told to remain wide and provide an outlet on the left wing, he still drifts into pockets of space due to his default position as a CAM. Long may this continue!
Interesting. Very interesting. You see, I've always liked the 4-4-2 Holding on the menu screen, but I've never been able to make it work on the field. I really tried to make it work with Wimbledon since it was perfect for my creative wingers and overlapping full backs, but I failed. I ended up going with a 4-2-2-2 which I ended that career with. However, this was on 14 before player instructions were introduced. Now I am inclined to give it another go in the future since you brought up your use of custom instructions. Makes me wonder how we ever played without the player instructions option! Glad you've found a formation that works for you, and good to hear that Mackay-Steven continues to cut inside even though he's told to stay wide. Some may call that being tactically indisciplined but hey, if it works it's best to not say anything. Let him do his thing haha. As for Osasuna, I was also very surprised to defeat Napoli but even more surprised when I kept a clean sheet against Atletico. I was able to own their 4-2-2-2 really made them feel weak, but in the final stages of the match they changed to a flat 4-3-3 and that's when they began showing the damage they can really do. I knew I would lose the midfield battle when I saw them make that change given the much stronger players they have in midfield compared to mine. Fortunately I was able to hold them just enough for the final whistle.

Wow man thanks a lot, I truly appreciate it. I may not be able to try simulating the impressive writing style used by yourself, Simppu, Indiblue, Cruzzer, and now Kenny, (attaboy Kenny!) but I try to deliver the best I can. Again, really appreciate the compliment. As for my results I was just as surprised to defeat those teams as you all have been, however I must admit that I feel the referee was a little intimidated by the home fans against Bilbao and his calls favored us. I still can't believe Camarasa only received a yellow for that tackle on Muniain. And the foul he called that resulted in our first goal, I'm not quite sure it was a foul from Susaeta. There was definitely contact, but it's one of those plays that some referees will say there was nothing and others will call it as a foul even in the game.

Man I keep forgetting, or procrastinating I should say, to type up the squad list for you guys. Guillermo actually went up to 74 OVR this month!

Thanks, I appreciate the mention a lot! I'm happy that you're liking it and that you think it's impressive. Hopefully you don't find it boring because that's the opposite of what I want it to be like. It helps me to improve my English writing skills, too. I have always liked writing stories (one of them featured an Italian mafia haha) and other texts in school. I think it's also good that you, Jamie and Tex are sticking to to "old-school way" because now we have mixture of everything. Man, this thread is amazing! When I joined it I couldn't have even imagined it becoming what it is now.

                            *Cough* *Cough* Haha jk.

I know, I know haha! I though about adding you but I decided not to because you use both styles. There are the match recaps that represent the old and then there are the manager's thoughts that represent the new more.

                                Premier League Race

The title race for the Premier League is hotting up, with Newcastle and Manchester United still in the running. The Toon are favourites, being top, but they have matches against Chelsea and Spurs in May. The race for the final 2 Champions League spots is between Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton. Liverpool are favourites and Everton will need a miracle, but between City and Chelsea, it could be either of them. Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, Reading and Leicester are both already down but Stoke are still trying to claw their way out of the drop zone, Hull, Crystal Palace and Sunderland all still within reach for a great escape.

                                FA Cup Final

Everton will face Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley. The sides have both fought hard for a European spot this year and if Everton win, than Arsenal will still more than likely qualify for the Europa through Everton's current 6th place position. Everton have won the competition 5 times, the last being in 1995 while they last reached the final in 2009, losing to Chelsea despite Saha scoring the fastest FA Cup final goal ever in just 25 seconds. Arsenal have won the competition a joint record 11 times, the last being in 2014, ending a 10 year drought of no trophies, in a dramatic win over Hull City.

Everton reached the final beating Manchester City, Liverpool and Crystal Palace while Arsenal beat Spurs, West Ham and Chelsea.

                                Champions League Final

Newcastle will face Barcelona in the final of the Champions League. The last time the 2 sides met was in the Round of 16 last year, Newcastle being victorious over the 2 legs. Newcastle's only European successes have came in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the Intertoto Cup. This is in stark contrast to their Spanish counterparts, having won 4 Champions Leagues, the last in 2011 and 2 Club World Cups. Newcastle made it to the final, qualifying top of their group including Milan, Real Sociedad and Lokomotiv, before beating Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04. Barca made it to the final finishing top of their group including Wolfsburg, Lyon and Celtic, before beating Milan, PSG and Arsenal.

                                Europa League Final

Juventus will face Spurs in the Europa League final. Both have won the competition before it's re-branding. Juventus have won the competition 3 times in the past, along with 2 Champions League victories. They last won the competition in 1993 and the Champions League in 1996. Spurs have won the competition twice, winning the inaugural competition in 1972 and their second came in 1984. Juve reached the final through wins against Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli. Spurs' path to the final involved beating Marseille, Hertha BSC and Lyon.
