Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
No it doesn't impact player growth I play Wilshire and Ramsey in their right positions, over 35 games now and they still haven't grown while Gibbs at left back has already gone up 4 points.Comment

3rd Egypt 3
4th Sweden 0
Portugal 1-0 MEXICO
MEXICO 3-2 Sweden
MEXICO 4-0 Egypt
L16:

Unfortunately my journey ended against a young Dutch side despite a late comeback and a Dos Santos screamer.
Here is how the rest of the world cup ended:

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I pressed R1 for my GK to come out and get the ball. At the same time my defender went for the ball and kicked it away before my GK could get it. So with no ball he just slammed into the attacker and straight red. lolComment

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Chivas de Guadalajara
1st Leg: Guadalajara 0 - 2 Pachuca
As expected, the match was very tense from the whistle. Guadalajara had more shots on goal but possession was split in half. Guadalajara would dominate possession for 15 minutes, then Pachuca would hold possession for the next 15, and vice versa. Pachuca managed to get goals on the 45th and 90th minute. Pachuca striker Enner Valencia (4 goals) was not able to get on the scoresheet however put in an assist for the 2nd goal of the night, placing him as the leagues' assist leader with 5. Pachuca goalkeeper Cirilo Saucedo, who recently joined from Tijuana, stopped everything young Torres and Fierro could shoot at him which earned him the Man of The Match award as well as securing his place as the league's clean sheet leader with 12. Guadalajara's young keeper Rodriguez would fall in second place with 9. Guadalajara fans left the stadium very frustrated and worried, knowing that they were behind on aggregate against the best team in the league.
2nd Leg: Pachuca 0 - 2 Guadalajara
Chavez changed formations from his usual 4-2-2-2 to a 4-4-2 Diamond Wide, clearly sending a message that he was going for the win. Pachuca fielded their usual 4-2-3-1, but gave their attacking side a rest and instead used players with higher defense work rates. Pachuca focused on holding possession and although they would press high up the pitch, they were only able to put in 2 shots. Carlos Fierro netted the first for Guadalajara at minute 31 with a beautiful header inside the box after a perfect cross from teammate Jesús Sánchez. This secured Fierro's position as the league's Top Goalscorer with 12. At halftime, Chavez changed formations to a 4-4-1-1 Attack noticing Pachuca were dominating the midfield. Chavez's team talk paid off as defensive midfielder Jorge Enríquez scored Chivas goal #2 at minute 48 with a low cross from young striker Carlos Fierro. Chivas needed just 1 more goal to go ahead on aggregate but Cirilo Saucedo would once again put in a wonderful performance in goal.
Chivas were fully on top of Pachuca in the first half of extra time but Saucedo was not going to allow Chivas to score a 3rd on him. Pachuca took advantage of their opponent's fatigue in the second half of extra time and managed to put in 3 shots but José Antonio Rodríguez was up to the task. Chivas played defensive for the first time this season and cleared everything they could. Their strikers barely managed to touch the ball this half and it was clear their legs couldn't push anymore. The championship was decided in a penalty shootout. Chivas scored their first 3 but the 4th was blocked by Saucedo. Pachuca on the other hand, netted their first and third penalty, but the second, fourth, and fifth hit the post.
El Rebaño Sagrado have won the Mexican Apertura 2014! As qualification for the Copa LatAm has not been confirmed, Chavez is hoping this is enough to get them in their second consecutive international competition.Last edited by _ChicoBass; 05-07-2014, 06:40 PM.Comment

Cardiff City: Return of the Bluebirds
November Update
Cardiff City played only three matches in November. Here are the results. For in-depth match reports (now including occasional video) and storylines, check out my dynasty thread.
The 106th Meeting of the South Wales Derby
Cardiff City 4 - 0 Swansea City
Eikrem 41', Dæhli 45', Campbell 50', Jones 89'
We absolutely annihilated our biggest rival. Nothing could be better than that, right? Cardiff City now lead the all-time series against Swansea City with a record of 44-27-34.
Aston Villa 4 - 2 Cardiff City
Cisse 29', 47'; Benteke 32'; Clark 56'
Campbell 16', Zaha 30'
We jumped out to the lead; they answered. We took the lead; they answered again. And then put two more past us. This is the first in a series of squandered leads on atrocious defensive lapses.
Cardiff City 1 - 2 Manchester United
Wittingham 17'
Rooney 45', Nani 45'
And another blown lead, from two more defensive lapses, this time both coming in first half stoppage time. Our backline has become really bad at marking all of a sudden, especially in the air. And now our keeper is in really terrible form. Should make things a lot of fun!

After a mixed November, in which we beat our biggest rivals but lost two matches we led in, Cardiff sit in 16th place on 12 points out of 12, a mere two points above the relegation zone. We have seven matches in December; I would like to get 10 points out of those, but we will see if that's attainable.Return of the Bluebirds: A Cardiff City Dynasty

I was under the impression that we all read each other's updates, although we do not always reply to them. You should copy your updates when they're starting to get long, that way you can just paste it and continue if something like that happens. That's what I do and my updates aren't nearly as long!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Arsenal career mode update
Just finished the summer transfer window, here's all ins and outs of the past two months:
In:
Matuidi (84) = €20 million
De Sciglio (80) =€10 million
Bartra (78) = Vermarlem+ €3 million
Sarr (73) = €1million
+ 4 academy players
Out:
Flamini= €4 million
Arteta= €5 million
Vivioni+ Kallstrom loan expired
+ 6 players loaned out
Starting line-up 2014-15:
Szczesny (80)
De Sciglio (80) Mertasaker (81) Subotic (85) Gibbs (82)
Matuidi (84) Ramsey (82)
Walcott (82) Ozil (90) Carzola (85)
Benzema (86)
Subs: Fabianski (75), Bartra (78), Sanga (79), Wilshire (82), Insinge (80), Oxlade-Chamberlain (79), Morata (79)/Sanogo (72)
Planning to replace Morata come January. He's improved a lot but never really got going and failed to replace Benzema when he got injured. He also keeps moaning about lack games, he got 30 last season. Sanogo on the other hand has been a tank and has a bright future but not quite good enough to be back up striker. Sold Flaimini to newly promoted Leister City (Leister got promoted on the game as well as real life along with Wigan and QPR) he kept complaining about lack of matches even though he got 32 which is more than enough. So as a very good replacement I got Matuidi and am rotating Ramsey and Wilshire frequently all though I prefer Ramsey. The board expect me to do the treble, which is pretty far fetch. My personal goal is to do the English double. I spent most of my remaining cash on a 5* 5* scout. So far after 5 matches I am joint level at the top on 13 points with Man City and Chelsea with United 4th on 12 I expect it to be a very tight title race.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Currently in February of my 2nd year and to my amaze I qualified for the Copa LatAm! Cruz Azul, who were crowned champions of the Clausura 2014, also qualified. As champion of the Apertura 2014 I qualified as Mexico B. It is confirmed then, the winners of the two playoff tournaments qualify. In my group I have pretty strong sides. Vélez Sarsfield, Corinthians, and Atlético Nacional. Can't wait for the first match against Argentinian rivals Velez!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Hello everyone!
Been reading a lot of threads on OS for a while now and finally decided to sign up. I've been playing FIFA for a few years now and for me career mode has always been the way to go.
I currently have a couple of careers which I've abandoned because of difficulty setting issues. I have no problem if a match is easy, as long as the players are representative of that. So leading the premier league with a Portsmouth side that was only 3 stars was not for me.
I've finally decided I want to have a career with one of those clubs that just focuses on the Champions League, because they dominate their own league, think Shaktar Donesk for example. So I think I'm going with Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership so I can battle to get them to the top, establish their superiority and then go for that treasured European Cup.
Debating dropping Rangers back into the Premiership but am a little put off by their stupid transfer budget, £8,000,000 , which seems odd for a team just out of administration. So let me know your thoughts on that, and who you would replace with Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
Will update soon!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Finally decided to sign up
I have just started a new career mode with my favourite team, LIVERPOOL
This is my progress so far
Transfers IN:
Eric Dier: £3 million
Luke Shaw: £500k + Jose Enrique
Danny Ings: £3.6 million
Ivan Rakitic: £2 million + Jordan Henderson
Nathaniel Chalobah: £2.6 million
Callum McManaman: £2 million
Alvaro Morata: Loan
Will Hughes: £4 million
Transfers OUT:
Lucas Leiva: £5 million
Brad Jones: £375k
Ali Cissokho: Loan Terminated
Match 1
Liverpool 1-1 Stoke
Sturridge 72
Nzonzi 84
We struggled to break down the tall Stoke defence and struggled to contain Peter Crouch's height up front. Mignolet had an outstanding game saving everything, as did Begovic. We broke the deadlock when Sturridge converted with a right foot half volley across goal. Stoke levelled it though when Aggers clearance bounced of Crouch and fell to Nzonzi who smashed it in.
Match 2
Aston Villa 2-3 Liverpool
Pratto 28
Sterling 45
Sterling 45
Pratto 79
Ings 88
We dominated the game but Pratto got on the end of a cross by Benteke to cheaply give up a goal. We hit back though, with sterling scoring two in stoppage time, the first robbing Guzan and walking it into the net and the second, expertly rounding Guzan to fire in from a tight angle. Unfortunately, a brilliant ball in by El Ahmadi found Pratto to prod in. Late on though, we counter attacked from a corner, Sterling playing Ings through who cut inside and fired it in. Ings was on the pitch because Sturridge broke his rib from a corner, he will be out for 3 months.
More updates coming soon. Next match: MANCHESTER UNITEDComment
