Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
West Bromwich Albion
August 2013
West Brom 0 - 0 Southampton
A dreary start to the season. Saints were comfortably the better team, with Wanyama destroying all comers in midfield. Foster earned us a point with a MOTM performance but Amalfitano spurned two late chances to steal 3 points.
West Brom 1 - 0 Swansea
Morrison 90'
Another pretty drab game enlivened by an absolute thunderbolt of a winner from the substitute. Swansea weaved plenty of pretty patterns but lacked a cutting edge with Bony stranded on the bench until the last 10 minutes.
Everton 1 - 0 West Brom
Lukaku 68'
Of course Romelu Lukaku was destined to score the winner against the club he served so well last term. More worrying again was the ineptness of the performance.
Fulham 1-0 West Brom
Richardson 25'
Another former Baggie comes back to haunt us. One goal in four games is an ugly start to the season, especially given we aren't spurning chances left, right and centre. We're just creating very little.
Random thoughts and observations
- We're still searching for the right blend going forward. Sessegnon coming off pre-season in bad form has hurt us though. He's undoubtedly our most gifted attacking player.
- No transfers to speak of, deactivated the first window so the answer must be found from within until January.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Bristol City CM Season 2
Championship
December Review
We entered December 4 points clear of West Ham after keeping that lead through November, November was a good month for the club, taking 12 points from a possible 15, could we keep our 4 point lead? Would Sam Baldock continue his impressive run of form that saw him named Player Of The Month for November? Could Pedro Azogue pull himself out of his poor run of games? Lets find out.
December 2nd, 2014
Bristol City 3-1 Bolton
Martial 11'
Odelusi 23'
Chrisantus 52'
Paterson 79'
We started the month with our toughest fixture since facing West Ham a couple months back and it showed, a very tough game with few chances, we took ours and Bolton didn't, Martial scored the opener but it was cancelled out just 12 minutes later by Odelusi, we snatched 2 goals in the second half to see it through, the game also saw Nathan Ake pick up his first MOTM for the club.
Man Of The Match: Nathan Ake
December 13th, 2014
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-2 Bristol City
Kelly 23'
Emmanuel-Thomas 53'
Dicko 60'
Davis 85'
After a nice 11 day break, meaning we could put out a full strength side, we travelled to Wolves, our fellow promoted club sat 9th just a couple of points off the top 6, in a game we deserved to win, we took a 2 goal lead, only to be pegged back to 2-2 just five minutes from time, we applied a lot of late pressure but couldn't prevail, this was our first draw of the season after 22 games, fortunately for us Nottingham Forest beat West Ham 2-1 so our slip up didn't matter.
Man Of The Match: Liam Kelly
December 20th, 2014
Bristol City 6-1 AFC Bournemouth
Chrisantus 5', 37', 45', 55'
Lobato 33'
Baldock 59'
Grabban 22'
After just 5 minutes Chrisantus scored the 1st of his 4 goals that would assure him MOTM honours, Bournemouth would equalize through Grabban, we would then pile on 5 unanswered goals to take an easy win.
Man Of The Match: Macauley Chrisantus
December 23rd, 2014
Crystal Palace 1-0 Bristol City
Bannan 34'
Two days after our huge 6-1 victory we faced a struggling Palace, although they've had a poor season, they still have a very good side and they showed it against us, we could argue we deserved the draw but our high pressure game came unstuck against a good Palace side, the 1-0 loss is only our 4th loss of the season thus far, once again West Ham failed to pounce on our slip, drawing 2-2 with Leeds, our best player was Liam Kelly who drove forward but with no end product.
Man Of The Match: Scott Dann
December 27th, 2014
Bristol City 1-0 Blackburn Rovers
Chrisantus 16'
An early goal by Chrisantus was enough to see off Blackburn, we dominated the game but Rovers defended well enough to keep it at 1-0.
Man Of The Match: Ximo
Player Of The Month: Liam Kelly
Table
25 Games Played
--------------------Pts.--------GD.
1. Bristol City:-------61---------|36
2. West Ham:--------57--------|30
3. Norwich City:-----46---------|32
4. Middlesbrough:----46---------|11
5. Bolton:-----------44---------|12
6. Leicester City:----41---------|8
--------------------Pts.---------GD.
19. Watford:--------27----------|-10
20. Leeds Utd.:-----27----------|-11
21. Birmingham:-----27----------|-12
22. Millwall:---------23----------|-21
23. Barnsley:-------13-----------|-27
24. Preston:--------10----------|-32
Summary: December was a poor month for the club, dropping 5 points, fortunately West Ham also dropped 5 points, so we will keep our 4 point lead at the top, we are now 15 points ahead of 3rd, automatic promotion looks very likely even with 21 games still to go, Liam Kelly was amazing for us this month, narrowly edging out Macauley Chrisantus for POTM after Charisantus scored 6 goals in his 3 appearances, Sam Baldock kept up his good form however Pedro Azogue is still in some bad form, this month saw 2 starting 11 place changes, GK Frank Fielding was replaced by Marek Stech who becomes our new number 1 and Anthony Martial replaces Wesley Burns on the right side of midfield, changes had nothing to with form but the players brought into the 11 are younger and better, simple logic.
Next month is January and it's transfer window time, i'm looking for a new LM and a CB, i have very little money remaining so swaps look like the go for this window.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Everytime i buy the "scout future star" option i always get a crappy 55-59 rated player woth almost all red and few orange stats, who doesn't even have a tag ( like "has that special something" ) Is this some kind of bug? And also it says "can only be purchased once a season" but i can't buy it in the second season though.. Also a bug?Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Chivas de Guadalajara
Well, looks like I jinxed myself after my previous post. What I was sure would be a very easy game vs Cruz Azul in the final ended up being a very hard fought match. I lost my first championship final. First game ended 1-1, second leg I lost 1-0 and Cruz Azul lost their 16 year league trophy drought. Now in the second season currently sitting in 3rd place and only 3 points from 1st. I have received a lot of bad press for allowing our stars Marquez Lugo (71, 32 years old) and De Nigris (73, 30 years old) to be purchased by Morelia and Cruz Azul respectively. Marquez Lugo was a crucial player in our starting 11 but I decided to open up a spot for our returning loaned player Erick "Cubo" Torres. Marquez Lugo did a great job shielding the ball, but was neither our goal scorer nor our top assist maker. As for De Nigris, he was a beast for us in his first tournament (Apertura) where he secured the golden boot with 16 goals. Any crosses sent to him were an inevitable goal. Unfortunately he fell off his stride in the Clausura where he only scored 6 goals. Granted, he missed many league matches for playing in the Copa LatAm, but in the international tournament he was only able to score 2 goals out of 8 matches. He was a perfect fit for Cruz Azul and they were the only team I'd be willing to sell him to. I rejected loads of offers from pretty much every team in the league and South America. I also lost Omar Bravo who retired after last season. At 34 years old he was a 90 minute player and always scored when we needed to (had plenty of chances in the final but Cruz Azul keeper Talavera played a solid match) Bravo will be missed as he had the most MOTM awards in the squad. To replace these two players, I have Cubo playing striker on the left alongside young Carlos Fierro who has been moved from right midfielder to right striker. I have a perfect balance with Cubo having the eye to get into great positions for headers and Fierro having the speed and agility to go wide to cross it in or beat the defensive line to get a 1v1 on the keeper. Fierro is currently my top goal scorer with 5 goals in 9 matches, and Cubo 3 goals in 9 matches. Despite the bad press, the team is playing a very fast, offensive football now that we have no players over 29 in our starting 11.
No transfers in due to my policy. Youth academy has only given me 1 great player: 17 year old CF Diego Ortiz. Rated 64 and has the "exciting prospect" status. He hasn't made it to my starting 11 but usually comes in as a 60th minute sub. The rest of my youth players do not have a potential status.Comment

Sky Sports News has interviewed Paul Ince before his upcoming cup match against Arsenal and this is what he had to say. "Yes it is going to be an uphill battle for us, especially against a great Arsenal side. Arsene Wenger is a great manager, and he is very consistent with his results. We will have to focus defensively in order to shut down Giroud and Wilshere. No, McDonald is still injured, and it is still a hole that we will have to fill."
When asked about his recent run of form the manager was quoted saying, "the lads are playing great, and they have really formed a great bond. They are a bunch of skilled players and I am not surprised by our six league game win streak."

Cardiff City: Return of the Bluebirds
September Update
Here's what happened to Cardiff City in September 2013. I'm playing every one of these matches and updating my dynasty page as I go, so if you want more detailed write ups and more frequent updates, please check it out.
*****
League Cup:
Tranmere Rovers 1 - 0 Cardiff City
Lowe 84'
I rested our starters for this match and kind of regret it now. Seemed destined for extra time until the most bizarre goal I've ever seen. Ruben Blanco, our backup keeper, was collecting a through ball, bent over to pull it into his chest, when Tranmere's Lowe slammed into him full speed, causing him to drop the ball which then rolled over the goal line. Should have been a foul, 100% of the time. Oh well, one less cup to worry about.
Hull City 2 - 2 Cardiff City
Sorry, I forgot to record the goal scorers. They scored two early goals, both headers on crosses. I had to battle back and managed to scrape out the point, which is lucky since Hull are one of our primary rivals in the relegation race.
Cardiff City 2 - 3 Everton
Lescott 12', Jones 90'
Naismith 33', Barry 52', Osman 72'
Jumped out to an early lead on Everton, but then they just dismantled us. I thought we might get our first win of the season, but no such luck.
Cardiff City 1 - 0 Tottenham
Campbell 83'
A rainy match that looked destined for a scoreless draw. Campbell got on the end of a beautiful through ball from Eikrem to score the only goal. Our first win, and first clean sheet.
Fulham 3 - 3 Cardiff City
Mitroglou 10', Parker 62', Mirallas 80'
Daehli 69', Lescott 76', Zaha 89'
Another rainy match, and a wild shootout. I thought I was toast until Daehli's breakthrough & Lescott's equalizer. Fulham had a golden opportunity, but David Marshall was able to save Mirallas's penalty kick

Right now we stand several spots above the relegation zone, which is good, but we're only 3 points clear, so still tense in the early stages of the season. Turning a few draws into wins will really help us down the stretch.Return of the Bluebirds: A Cardiff City Dynasty

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Question here: is it possible to be offered the same national team job twice? I received an offer for Mexico and I would like to take, mostly so that I can see the majority of the player stats in my league, but I want to focus on my club right now. If I do not accept and I keep doing well with my club, will Mexico offer me the job again later on?Comment

Sign the player onto your main team on May 1st then they are amazing
So basically only buy the scout a future star at about January on your season so that they don't request to leave the team unless promotion is given

I've had more than one offer from Australia and Wales when managing in Australia so yeah I guess you can just don't reject it just leave it till it expires

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Southampton Career Update October 1st
BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Southampton 2 - 2 Crystal Palace
Jay Rodriguez 44', Schneiderlin 45'
De Silva 19', Bolasie 23'
After two league losses in a row we really needed to get back in form with a win over bottom side Crystal Palace. Unfortunately I misplaced my faith in Connor Wickham again who, guess what, again failed to find the back of the net for the 4th game running... De Silva scored from a quick counter-attack by Palace which ended in a cross and a headed goal by De Silva. Shortly afterwards Yannick Bolasie broke through, rounded my goalkeeper Scuffet and put the ball in the back of the net. We were not to be beaten just yet though as Jay Rodriguez scored a header into an open goal after Luke Shaw's saved shot rebounded straight to him. Barely a minute later we broke through and the ball was chipped over Palace keeper Speroni for Schneiderlin to put it in the back of the net. We just couldn't get a good chance in the second half despite dominating possession.
❌ Injury to Eric Dier who will be out for two weeks due to a Dislocated Shoulder suffered in a car crash. No other people harmed.
PRESS CONFERENCE
Reporter: "Eric Dier dislocated his shoulder in a car crash yesterday, what does this mean for the team?"
Pochettino: "Dier will only miss the Manchester United game next week. We are fortunate enough to only have one game during his absence."
Reporter: "Who will replace him in the starting XI for the big clash."
Pochettino: "That will be decided when the time comes. No more questions about team selection please, what happens will happen and shouldn't be influenced by media questions."
Reporter: "Connor Wickham is in a bit of a goal drought despite starting the season brilliantly, will he be replaced in the starting eleven?"
Pochettino: "Didn't I say no more questions about team selection?"
Reporter: "Could we at least get your view on the situation?"
Pochettino: "Wickham is a great lad with tremendous potential, I have confidence that he will bring it together and start scoring in no time, until then he must not worry and know that I have full confidence in him."
Reporter: "It was a pretty disappointing month in terms of results for Southampton. What have you gathered from the poor recent form?"
Pochettino: "I wouldn't call it a poor month. The only poor result I would consider is the loss to West Ham. We had plenty of opportunities we should've finished and we will work on that. Liverpool was simply better than us when they defeated us in the same week but the players gave it their all, which is all I ask for. The game at home against Crystal Palace we dominated and the only reason we didn't win is because of a few slip ups defensively. This problem will be addressed in the coming weeks and deeply focused on. In terms of Cup games we defeated Aston Villa at home and walked over Arsenal away in a five nil demolition. I am very proud of how the boys have fared in cup games and hope for a successful cup run that will hopefully end in glory. No further questions."
BPL Table
1. Liverpool, 17 pts
2. Spurs, 16 pts
3. Manchester City, 16 pts (1 goal behind Spurs in terms of goal difference)
4. Everton, 16 pts (1 goal behind Manchester City in terms of goal difference)
5. Arsenal, 15 pts
6. Chelsea, 14 pts
7. Southampton, 10 pts
8. Manchester United, 10 pts (2 goals behind Southampton in terms of goal difference)
9. Newcastle United, 10 pts (2 goals behind Manchester United in terms of goal difference)
10. Fulham, 10 pts (3 goals behind Newcastle in terms of goal difference)
Pretty close league this season with everyone still very much in contention. Chelsea and Southampton has a game in hand to all other teams in top 10.
(Everyone has played 7 except Chelsea and Southampton)
