Yeah it's a 4 3 3 false 9 that I edited. The game actually lists it as a 4-4-2 but I consider it a false 9 formation. I have the false 9 as a CAM (but a CF could easily play it) so he has a bit more defensive responsibilities. The wingers have less, especially shaarawy because he's really injury prone. I also forgot to mention that I have the fullbacks playing more like wing backs with more attacking responsibilities (I love to move up the sides). De sciglio is especially good at this; he has a few goals and assists over the past few seasons (including a 90th minute goal that saved my *** from elimination in the Europa league round of 16 second leg) and takes corners from both sides. My ultimate grand master plan is to put lamela in that false 9 spot with bakkali taking his spot on the wing. Shaarawy-lamela-bakkali is gonna be really fun in a few seasons O_o. I may just keep insigne until bakkali gets past 80 or 81 overall or I may try one of the guys you suggested. If I sell insigne and maybe someone else I could probably scrape together some funds for vela, he looks the best. Although his defense isn't great and he may very well be worth too much money. Insigne is really frustrating me because he has 84 potential, but has just grown from 79 to 80 over a season and a half, and I play him quite a lot. He was great when he first came to the club, but this whole 2nd season he's only scored once and has disappeared a la Roy hibbert a lot of matches this year. Thanks for the suggestions

Sorry about the lack of updates guys but I have been busy with revision and I had no idea how hard it would be in the lower leagues playing every game.
Should have a Coventry update tomorrow and a Coventry and Liverpool update on Saturday.

Well, damnit, I'm going to do at least a season of this one. Thanks to _ChicoBass for getting me to league 2, what really helped was his Wimbledon video, especially the excellent commentators.

          Match 1: Away @ Portsmouth
Err, before I do this I'll let you know my GK is 58 (Artur Krysiak), my top ST (I'm running a 4-4-2 Diamond) is 61 (John O'Flynn) and my top player is LB at 62 (Craig Woodman).

Well, Porstmouth obliterated us right from the start. They finished with and outstanding 15 shots, 9 on goal... and the only scored one. Artur Krysiak was incredible the entire first half, making 6 saves in those 45 minutes alone. The ball was in our zone nearly 75% of the time. We didn't get a shot on goal, with 1 chance going wide.

Finally, Tom Craddock beat Krysiak in the 57th minute on a nice little shot that went bottom right. Exeter City upped their pressure, using all 3 subs, and got some good chances and play in the attacking zone but we managed only 1 shot. Krysiak finished with 8 saves and won man of the match. Final Score: Portsmouth 1, Exeter City 0.

Good idea I was considering this before my United career mode, but never got around to doing it. Would be interesting to read.

Match 2: Capital One Cup @ Carlisle
I'll say it again: this is a second half team. We gave up 3 goals in the first half ('8, '13, '26) to the three guys whose first name starts with L.

Yet we turned it on in the first half... if by turned it on you mean retained possession of the ball, made a lot of passes and had few scoring chances. Not the best offensive club I've ever managed. Final Score: Carlisle 3, Exeter City 0.

                  Post-game Interview w/the New Boss:
Reporter 1: Now that two games are in the books, you've suffered two losses. Why?

M: We need to control the ball more. The lack of scoring chances and therefore goals comes from our inability to retain possession anywhere near the opposing box. For goals allowed, the defense has just been torn apart. Today was no exception.

Reporter 2: You've sold Aaron Gow [64 OVR, 30, CDM] for $450,000. With the extra money in your pocket, is there any particular player you're looking for?

                  M: Not really.

Reporter 3: Who's been your two top players so far this season?

M: I'll shout out Tom Wheeler who's done a fantastic job at RM. Very competitive, always looking for the ball, continues to help the team. Also credit to GK Artur Krysiak especially for that first game. We haven't given him any help and everyone knows it.

I'll add this one more game, then I'm caught up:
We lost the game before that recap to Fleetwood Town, 2-1. Jimmy Reid scored in the 87th on a headed cross from Wheeler, but much too late.

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

                        The Return of Danny Kedwell

As the Wimbledon players were given the day off after defeating Mansfield Town 2-1, we caught up with the Wimbledon manager Chavez to ask him a few questions about the contract expiry signings of Danny Kedwell (Gillingham) and Christian Jolley (Newport County) who are set to arrive at the club after July 1st of this year.

Q: Good afternoon Mr. Chavez got a few questions for you here. Some of the fans turned against you after allowing George Francomb to depart when the team was playing perhaps the best football in the league, but as soon as you announced that Danny Kedwell would be returning to Wimbledon you received mass applauds and I think it's safe to say that every single one of the supporters are behind you now. Was the signing of Kedwell a tactic to get Francomb off the fan's minds?

A: "Hello thanks for having me. Always a pleasure to get a word out to the fans. Now first of all, let's not belittle Danny. His signing is because of his own merits, not to try to trick the fans which is something we would never even think about doing. With that said, I don't think there's anything we could do to get Francomb off of the supporter's minds. In his short time here he gave everything on the field and won our hearts. I just hope we can all understand that signing with Ipswich was the best option for him, and he will always be welcomed back. The benefit of the player is always put before our own."

Q: Would you consider bringing Francomb back to Wimbledon?

A: "We don't close our doors on any of our players."

Q: Why Danny Kedwell and Christian Jolley?

A: "Danny is a remarkable striker. It's difficult to find a player with his style of play in today's football, some even say that the "traditional" striker is almost extinct today. He will be deadly in the box especially with players that can put in great crosses like Jacob Murphy and Tarik Çamdal. He's also a strong player and can hold the play very well. And last but not least, he's a legend here! Watch the match versus Luton Town and you'll see one of the many reasons why! As for Christian Jolley, he's a similar player and is also great in the air. With his speed he can cover multiple positions for us - on both wings and as a forward. When my scouts informed me Newport County had yet to renew his contract I knew I had to act to bring him back to the club and he's very much looking forward to joining us again as well."

Q: What do these new signings mean for your current strikers Danny Hylton, Max Clayton, and Charlie Sheringham?

A: "As I mentioned before we don't close the doors on any of our players. Hylton is currently the league's top scorer and is bound to receive multiple offers next season. We just want to be prepared for his final decision if he decides to leave. That way if he does decide to leave, we'll be ready and we won't get in his way. At the end of the season we will sit down with Crewe Alexandria to discuss Clayton's future. As for Sheringham, we're not planning on letting him go at the moment. Football is in his blood, in his genes. He's been improving every week since I've met him. People are quick to criticize him because they want to see him play like his father but I assure you the talent is there. He just needs a little push sometimes. Regardless of who goes and who comes and all that, a little internal competition is always great for any team."

Q: You mentioned Danny Kedwell is a legend here at the club and you mentioned that the penalty shootout against Luton Town is one of the many reasons why he has that stature here, but this was all about 3 years ago. Danny is 30 years old now and doesn't get much playing time at Gillingham. Does that worry you?

A: "No not at all. Yes, his glory days here at Wimbledon were 3 to 6 years ago but his roar is still there. He's had limited play time at Gillingham but from what I've seen he's just been struggling to adapt to the current manager's style of play. That won't be a problem here. We know where he does the most damage from and we'll build around that. A striker needs to be comfortable in his position in order to score goals."

Well Mr. Chavez that's all we have for you for now thank you very much for your time. I know you were heading out so thanks for stopping for us.

"Hey not a problem at all. Anything for the fans. This is their team after all. Literally!"

                        ..........

Those were the words of Wimbledon manager Chavez, who continues to surprise us all with his great leadership and charisma despite this being his first manager job. A lot of fans are just as excited as he is for the return of Danny Kedwell, some fans are even inquiring about season tickets for the next season that is still more than 6 months away. It will be interesting to see if Kedwell can live up to expectations even with Jolley also trying to earn a spot in the starting 11 and Sheringham pushing to prove himself.

From South London for HYFCMG, ChicoBass.

                        Thanks for reading!!

                                My Question to You:

What are you expecting out of this team for the upcoming season?

Keep Guardado! he's naturally a left winger but Valencia began to use him as a left back more recently. He's currently playing the World Cup with Mexico and played a great match as a LCM against Cameroon! Just in case you didn't know much about him lol
