It's kind of the opposite with me. When my girlfriend (doesn't live with me) is at the house I can't play because I need to spend time with her, unless she's hooked on a show on Netflix or something. However, once she goes to sleep (if she sleeps over) THAT'S when I get my game time. She even bought me a sick pair of Turtle Beach headphones that I can use to play really loud without waking her. (Sound quality is superb)

She's accepted my addiction, I just need to find a balance -_- lol can't believe I haven't used the 0-3 excuse before! Haha

I have to admit that I'm a little bit defeated about how that last season went.

Going from being on top at the mid-point season to missing out on the promotion the way I did took a lot out of me. It didn't help that my board won't even provide $500K in additional funds. It's clear to me now that if I'm gonna be successful here I have to build this team from the ground up. It's why I'm investing heavily on my youth squad. It is, 1) nearly the only way for me to acquire talent that I can afford and, 2) what will allow me to create profit by signing and developing players that I can later sell.

Looking at my roster now compared to at the beginning of last season, even though it's mostly compromised of guys who are under 20-years old the roster from top to bottom is better. I've been able to achieve this with no money. I am concerned that all of my experience is on the defensive side of the ball with no experience with the 5 guys up front. I'm lacking speed and goals might be hard to come by this season (GD was not my friend last season). I need to scout for defensive guys this season while maybe look to add some experience up front this winter if I don't have a good first half.

However, I will say that the lack of help from my board will at least allow me to be tempted if a really good job opens up. I don't know what it would take. I do like this challenge, I just wish I had some help from the board. I basically had to give up negotiating with Beleck because he was hardballing me and Navarro is asking for a raise and I can only do one or the other. Honestly, Navarro deserves the raise and him and Traore are my only speed weapons so I can't mess around with them.

This could make a good story though, as in the club is in debt, close to bankruptcy, and they've turned to you to save them through championships and promotion while bringing back TV deals and establishing a bigger fan base.?

By the way, I believe once I saw a report in the career about some team had some investors interested in them - does that really happen in the game? Some group invests a bunch of money on the team and you get an increased budget? I need that like NOW.

Some group invests a bunch of money on the team and you get an increased budget? I need that like NOW.

You could buy financial takeover from the FIFA Catalogue. It would give you a huge budget though comparatively.

Anyone have any suggestions for a box-to-box midfielder? Just looking for one to add depth, so in about the 70-75 range for OVR. Preferably someone from a Spanish speaking country to add a hint of realism (Manage RC Deportivo) but really not required.

It's FIFA currency that you earn from getting EXP in the game. What platform do you play on?

FIFA gives you points(currency) for a bunch of different things like completing skill games, reaching a 20-game mark in your career, signing a top player, sending counter offers, even for just starting up the game! Have you "bought" anything in the catalogue already like the "edit player in career mode" option? That's another handy one especially for your youth players.

I absolutely love the edit player feature. First thing I do after promoting a youth player is go into there and hit randomize so they don't all look the same with shirt tucked in and no accessories.

Also vrabbit another good one that could benefit you from what you were saying your plan was is the Scout a Future star one. It puts a 90+ potential youth player in your academy for you that plays a randomized position. Although it is recommended if you do use it to use it in February/March so that the player will go through a May update before promoting him.

I haven't spent on squat I don't think, other than maybe different colored balls and other pointless things, but not for a damn while. You cant buy kits with it can you?

Yea you can buy kits too, if the team has a "locked" kit. Usually retro/historic kits. They won't be available until you "purchase" them through the catalogue.

You only have about 5 financial takeovers and 5 scout future stars, so use them wisely. Can't use them more than once each. Man even I'm excited for you lol

Perfect. As long as you are connected to online when you play you should have plenty. Just go into the catalogue and switch over to the career tab and take a look around. For each of the features like financial takeover, and scout a future start, you can only use it once a season in your career I think so don't waste any and try to buy all you have the level for at once.

Other thing I will note is that once you purchase it the funds may not show up. DO NOT exit from the career mode without saving. Move forward a few days and it should show up. The item purchased will be applied to the first career save you open so be careful.

I've used it one time before but I don't like using it much since it really does give HUGE boost in finances. Although here it could add a nice story to your career having new owners come in with the funding. I'd imagine they would put some pressure on you to perform next season or else haha.

Edit: Also make sure you are into the next season before using it. The funds will go away at the end of a season if unused. Just wanted to point that out since I know you just finished a season so make sure you have actually advanced to the next one.

I want nothing more than to bring AD Alcorcon up to La Liga and be competitive up there. Prove the team belongs, work my way up the standings through the seasons until we start getting into some European competitions and maybe eventually league championships.

CAN'T WAIT. I think I'm level 21 or something like that.

Hopefully I'll be able to afford both a striker and him. All depends what budget they give me really.
