Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Wow adding the table definitely added to that. It's crazy to see how close the race is now between you and Wolverhampton. Hurts to lose that match, and now you need them to lose their last match (or draw if you have goal differential). Best of luck you you! Really looking forward to how it turns out.Comment

ROAD TO RECOVERY
SEASON 1
Match 46
Bradford 1-2 Coventry
Moussa 20
Wilson 42
Hanson 44
Moussa smashed in an effort on the rebound before Wilson tapped into an empty net. Hanson smashed in a volley and from then on Bradford dominated. We were hoping it would be enough, but Wolves won 3-0. At least we got promoted.
Breaking News
19 year old centre back Jordan Willis refused a contract from Coventry City that would have seen him have an £1250 pay rise. Stating he wanted to seek pastors new, he will be welcomed whole-heartedly by anyone who signs him.
League Table
Wolves 104
Coventry 102
Peterborough 93
Leyton Orient 89 (Promoted via Playoffs)
Bristol City 83
Preston 78
-------------
Oldham 41
Tranmere 37
Crewe 31
Carlisle 30

Congratulations on the promotion! Only 2 points away from silverware but the important thing is the promotion. How were your cup runs?Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
well actually I've been too lazy to go back but how was that first season? I'm feeling like most teams in the league aren't dramatically better than mine (which is one of the lower 3 as far as ratings) and I've actually been able to get some positive results in the early going to go with actual good performances on the field. Goals are hard to come by though otherwise I might be doing better. For the most part it's night and day when I play cup games against teams from higher divisions.vrabbit

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Also what do you guys think are some fun leagues to play in Europe. I want a league other than the English leagues. I do not know much about other leagues but I want it to have the same format as the english leagues (multiple leagues for promotions and demotions, league and fa cup sort of thing, and also is in euro league and champions league). Also if you have a mid tier team that is demoted or fighting demotion. Thanks in advance...Comment

Spain - Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante
France - Ligue 1 and Ligue 2
Italy - Serie A and Serie B
I think those are all of the countries that have promotion/relegation in this game outside of England.Comment

We finished the league strong and had a 7 point lead over 2nd place so the second half of the season was fine. It's the first half where I struggled to be in promotion playoff positions. That was before I found that players like Jack Midson and Harry Pell were loads better outside of their natural position. The signings in January catapulted us to play a lot more comfortably. I remember somewhere in December or November I had hit rock bottom with the team. We were just kicking the ball around playing ugly football and not winning much. Fortunately, we were able to get out of there and then win the leagueLeague 1 was more competitive but we never really hit bad form. It's just that the competition wouldn't lose! The championship though... No comparison there lol

From the early going I feel I'll be able to put Dagenham in the battle for direct promotion or at the very least one of the playoff spots. It's still early though so I don't want to get too ahead of myself.
SPOILER: we did NOT upset Manchester City in the Capital One Cup, lol.vrabbit

Still waiting for your first update from The Championship, or did I miss it?

I've had 3 updates actually lol one covering funding and transfer targets (post #2268) one covering the preseason (post #2274) and one covering the first month of the championship season (post #2298). I think I saw your thumbs up on at least one of them though so maybe you only missed 2 of them lol
I'm sure you'll make it. In League 1 there were only 3 times competing for promotion: Huddersfield (somehow relegated from the champ.) Charlton (somehow they weren't promoted before, they lost in the playoffs again that season even though they were 10 points ahead of 4th place) and myself.
I haven't played City this year, but they are always extremely difficult to beat!Comment

did that kid who was 15 finally turn 16?
I'm actually putting together a nice youth squad in my Alcorcon CM. The 4-star and 5-star scouts sure help. I may do an update just on the YS alone lol.vrabbit

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
oh yes, I did see the post about beating PSG. I missed the other two now that I realized you posted over the holiday when I was mostly MIA until yesterday but I'm caught up now

Yea he turned 16 right before the PSG 2nd leg. He didn't debut until the match after that one though. His name is Mario Ruiz. This kid was gonna be a starter, but due to him being a procrastinator and not turning 16 when I needed him (lol) Midson stepped up and locked it down. Now he'll have to fight for that starting spot and Midson doesn't look like he'll be loosening up anytime soon despite his age.
I like to add the YA into my updates every now and then just to give a quick overview on what we're working with. Strangely, my 1-star scout has been finding great players while my 2-star scout hasn't gave me anything. I was about to terminate him after his 9 month tour and on his final scout report he brought in a 15 year old with 80-94 potential. Talk about a slacker.
I haven't been able to play since that last update. It's killing me lolComment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Dagenham - '13-'14 season
September update
Only 5 games this month with the only loss coming against Manchester City in cup play. The recap:
Vs. Man City(Capital One Cup): 1-4 Loss. Scott got us on the board only to get our hopes of an upset up, but a superior Man City team was leading 3-1 shortly after, adding a 4th goal in the second half to seal it. No contest.
@ Bury: 1-0 Win. A matchup against the league's top team at the time. We were the better team throughout and may have deserved another score.
Vs Chesterfield: 0-0 Draw. Another game against top competition. This was a very even game throughout and the result was fair to both sides.
@ Cheltenham Town: 3-0 Win. Earlier in the month the media had focused their negativity on Rhys Murphy, pointing out the fact that he had yet to score this season. This was Murphy's coming out party with 2 goals and an assist leading Dagenham to their best showing of the season ... so far.
Vs. Rochdale: 4-0 Win. Hands down Dagenham's best game of the season so far. Josh Scott continued a hell of a season with two early goals while Elito finally scored his first one of the season on the beauty showcased below. Murphy rounded up an amazing month for the team with his 3rd goal of the season.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/MjBLucg9d1I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Standings (after 9 games)
1. S****horpe Utd - 21pts
2. Dagenham - 18 pts
3. Portsmouth - 17 pts
4. Morecambe - 17pts
5. Bury - 15pts
6. Chesterfield - 15pts
7. Northampton - 14pts
As mentioned Scott continues to be the star of the team, now with 6 goals. Murphy has 3 assists to go with his 3 goals. Birighitti was helpless against a significantly superior Man City team but kept the sheet clean all month long for Dagenham and already has more clean sheets (4) than Seabright was able to get in September (3) in 5 games.
Scott, Zavon Hines, Afolabi Obafemi, and Oluwafemi Ilesanmi have all recently signed contract extensions with the team as their contracts were set to expire at the end of the season. The team is also trying to sign Elito to an extension as his contract runs out at the end of next season.
The youth squad continues to have just 3 players as the team awaits second month reports. Scottish GK Jamie Black now has an estimated potential between 64-82, English GK Jordan Derbyshire has an estimated potential between 70-90, and Spanish defender Xabi Lopez has an estimated potential between 61-79. None of them are expected to be called up to the senior team this season.Last edited by vrabbit; 07-14-2014, 09:44 PM.vrabbit
