Q: Tough couple of matches in Champions League play. You have some work cut out for the remaining matches. Will you be changing your strategy at all going forward?

A: It was tough to drop those two matches, but this level of play from opponents is to be expected in the Champions League. One thing we take away from this is that even though we have lost two matches, we have yet to play a match at home. We need to focus on defending our home pitch and give our best to get a result in the last away match. We aren't out of it yet, but it is going to take a very focused effort from the entire squad.

Q: You are a couple spots behind where you would like to see yourself in La Liga, but it is still early. Is there any cause for panic, or will things straighten themselves out?

A: It is early, and if there is one thing that history has shown us, it's that the table will change quite a bit throughout a season. I am confident that we will find our way into the top spots and fight to stay there. There is no cause for any panic among supporters at this moment, we will be better.

Q: What can you tell us about the form of Memphis depay? He took home the La Liga player of the month after some monster performances.

A: He has been one of the best goal scorers in the league so far this season, and he's showing no signs of slowing down. He finished last season on a tear, and that has only carried over into this season. This is a player that is only going to keep getting better and better, and he is finally hitting his stride and showing the world what he is capable of.

        Tell me about it

Had the lead at 2-1 and 3-2 and ended up losing the match.

Oh and beautiful free kick goal in that video above! God I love scoring those!

Thanks and sorry, I can't remember them. I do remember though, that I reached the last 32 in the FA Cup, knocked out by Crystal Palace but knocked out Man. Utd

Damn it! Bad results in the Champions but what a match against Dortmund! You still have a chance, you CANNOT lose against PAOK and hopefully arsenal defeat Dortmund so you have a chance for 2nd place.

A fun one is Palermo in Serie B. They have some pretty good players in Pablo Dybala, Abel Hernandez and Emiliano Viviano. Plus a starting budget of 10 million pounds, so you can pick up some future stars on the cheap or sign a bunch of good players on pre-contracts in January 2014.

I like to add the YA into my updates every now and then just to give a quick overview on what we're working with. Strangely, my 1-star scout has been finding great players while my 2-star scout hasn't gave me anything. I was about to terminate him after his 9 month tour and on his final scout report he brought in a 15 year old with 80-94 potential. Talk about a slacker.
Isn't it just amazing when you have a player aged 30+, and you expect him to decline into absolute trash but then he plays like a man fighting for his life? I had this happen with Frank Lampard at Chelsea in FIFA 13 (but naturally ), with Giuseppe Vives at Torino, and with Gordon Greer at Brighton.

Also, good shout on the youth academy bit. It's nice to see who everyone has in store for the future, and how it varies according to club status and position. I'll be adding a youth academy progress report along with my Christmas and end of season updates from now on.

                  October update

Only 5 games this month with the only loss coming against Manchester City in cup play. The recap:

Vs. Man City(Capital One Cup): 1-4 Loss. Scott got us on the board only to get our hopes of an upset up, but a superior Man City team was leading 3-1 shortly after, adding a 4th goal in the second half to seal it. No contest.
@ Bury: 1-0 Win. A matchup against the league's top team at the time. We were the better team throughout and may have deserved another score.
Vs Chesterfield: 0-0 Draw. Another game against top competition. This was a very even game throughout and the result was fair to both sides.
@ Cheltenham Town: 3-0 Win. Earlier in the month the media had focused their negativity on Rhys Murphy, pointing out the fact that he had yet to score this season. This was Murphy's coming out party with 2 goals and an assist leading Dagenham to their best showing of the season ... so far.
Vs. Rochdale: 4-0 Win. Hands down Dagenham's best game of the season so far. Josh Scott continued a hell of a season with two early goals while Elito finally scored his first one of the season on the beauty showcased below. Murphy rounded up an amazing month for the team with his 3rd goal of the season.

                  Standings (after 9 games)
                  1. S****horpe Utd - 21pts
                  2. Dagenham - 18 pts
                  3. Portsmouth - 17 pts
                  4. Morecambe - 17pts
                  5. Bury - 15pts
                  6. Chesterfield - 15pts
                  7. Northampton - 14pts

As mentioned Scott continues to be the star of the team, now with 6 goals. Murphy has 3 assists to go with his 3 goals. Birighitti was helpless against a significantly superior Man City team but kept the sheet clean all month long for Dagenham and already has more clean sheets (4) than Seabright was able to get in September (3) in 5 games.

Scott, Zavon Hines, Afolabi Obafemi, and Oluwafemi Ilesanmi have all recently signed contract extensions with the team as their contracts were set to expire at the end of the season. The team is also trying to sign Elito to an extension as his contract runs out at the end of next season.

The youth squad continues to have just 3 players as the team awaits second month reports. Scottish GK Jamie Black now has an estimated potential between 64-82, English GK Jordan Derbyshire has an estimated potential between 70-90, and Spanish defender Xabi Lopez has an estimated potential between 61-79. None of them are expected to be called up to the senior team this season.
Excellent games. Good place to be so early in the season, Hines is an absolute pace demon, no? I used him as a reserve for my first FIFA 14 career with West Ham, and he was brilliant. Hope you keep the run going!

Poor luck with the European games, but Depay seems to be on fire! I love how he glides across the pitch even at full tilt, and so few people can keep up with him. Plays way above his stats, quite strong for a little lad, and a fierce shot and set piece ability on him.

19 year old centre back Jordan Willis refused a contract from Coventry City that would have seen him have an £1250 pay rise. Stating he wanted to seek pastors new, he will be welcomed whole-heartedly by anyone who signs him.

Congrats on promotion. It'll be a tough run but hopefully you can adjust despite what I guess will be a limited budget. For a replacement CB can I suggest loaning in Ake from Chelsea, if you have the funds to afford his wages?

Haha this was just an odd month out. My defense got crushed by Real Madrid, Dortmund, and Arsenal. As for the number of goals I was able to put up, that was out of the ordinary as well ever since I changed to Matt10's sliders. I didn't score much against the big clubs aside from Dortmund. Only managed to score 2 goals combined against Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Arsenal. It's pretty neat because the level of competition between opponents is pretty noticeable.

I'm still holding out hope to advance. I think I will pretty much need to win the home leg of both Arsenal and Dortmund, and both legs against PAOK. Not impossible, but it will be tough.

Brutal luck so far in the CL, but definitely showing that you do belong there. Tough start in the league as well, do you think having those extra CL fixtures to play is costing you in the league in terms of squad depth? If you have any funds and can get out of the CL groups maybe look for some short loans in January to beef up the squad for the run in.

Yeah I'm running my guys pretty tough so far. I have some youth players that are good enough to get some time, and I need to try to work them into league games more to give the other guys some rest. Bruno Martins Indi tore his ACL and is out for 7 months so that has really hurt the depth on the back line since he was capable of playing both LB and CB. Now It's really a 6 man rotation there for 4 spots. Wouldn't hurt to grab one or two more players back there, especially if anyone else goes down.

I still have about 7M in funds left to spend, plus what I will get from group stages (win or lose) from Champions League. I was thinking of going after some pre-contract players and really setting the team up more, but that all depends on how we are doing come January. If we need help immediately then I will have to suck it up and spend some cash then rather than later.

Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted, but it's because I've been extremely busy. However, I finally started a new career mode and brought Rangers back to the Scottish Prem! My goal, is to get Rangers back to winning titles and qualifying for Europe every single year. I am also only going to bring in young players from my academy, and the only signings I will make will be Scottish or English players. I've titled this new series after their famous motto, "No Surrender." Hope you guys will enjoy this as much as I will!

Promoted a Youth player out of Chile at the start of the season and he is 67 OVR with 5* weak foot and 5* skills. He plays RW and has decent pace, but not fast by any means. Just happy he's not in the 60's for pace haha. I definitely need to start working him into the lineup!

Cool side note about that is now both of my back up wingers have 5* skills since I signed Masuku a couple of seasons ago.
