Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

    ROAD TO RECOVERY
    SEASON 2

    John Fleck moves abroad

John Fleck has moved to Real Valladolid for £2 million. Jamiec47 stated, "I would like to thank John for his service and I can tell you now, if we had a bigger budget, he wouldn't have gone. We just had to sell him to gain money to be able to compete."

    Wilson moves for big money

Callum Wilson, the top scorer for Coventry last season, has joined Wigan for £2 million. Jamiec47 has said "Once again, it was the same reason as John. We needed money, simple as that"

    Wilson's replacement?

League One top scorer Chris Dagnall has joined Coventry City for £350,000. Jamiec47 said "I would love to welcome Chris to the club, I saw his qualities against us last season, and he was top scorer. I think he is brilliant, with brilliant finishing qualities."

The boy is back in town

Abdul Razak has resigned with Coventry for a second season on loan from West Ham. Jamiec47 had this to say "The lad impressed on loan last season, and now with John gone, he will be able to shine even more"

    A Great Goalie

Young keeper, Alex McCarthy has signed for Coventry City for £2.8 million as a replacement for Murphy. Jamie is quoted as saying "This young man will be one of the best keepers in English history"

    Who?

Youngsters David Moyo and Tom Chamberlain have signed on loan from Northampton Town and York City respectively to "add squad depth"

      ROAD TO RECOVERY
      SEASON 2

      Squad

      Goalkeepers
      Alex McCarthy 75
      Alex Gott 52

      Defenders
      Cyrus Christie 68
      Aaron Phillips 61
      Jordan Clarke 66
      Daniel Seaborne 66
      Jordan Willis 60
      Stuart Urquhart 62
      Andy Webster 61
      Blair Adams 66

      Midfielders
      Conor Thomas 65
      Carl Baker 64
      Franck Moussa 69
      Abdul Razak 67
      Jack Finch 49
      Pedro Azogue 64
      Billy Daniels 59
      James Maddison 55
      Tom Chamberlain 49

      Forwards
      Nathan Delfouneso 70
      Chris Dagnall 65
      George Thomas 54
      Nathan Eccleston 67
      David Moyo 52

      League Cup Match 1

      Stevenage 2-1 Coventry
      Thomas 12
      Heslop 36
      Obeng 42

I simmed this match and we are now out, oops.

      Match 1

      Derby 2-3 Coventry
      Dagnall 11
      Russell 67
      Hughes 72
      Azogue 84
      Dagnall 90

What a first game of the season, new signing Dagnall curling in the opener. Russell headed in an equaliser before Hughes smashed in from a corner. Substitute Azogue smashed in across the keeper to equalise before in the last minute Dagnall calmly volleyed in.

      Match 2

      Coventry 0-2 Nott'm Forest
      Blackstock 8
      Phillips 34 (OG)

Our first loss of the season as Blackstock smashed in and Phillips deflected a cross into his own net.

      Match 3

      Bournemouth 0-1 Coventry
      Delfouneso 39
In a tight affair, a low ball across goal by Christie was tapped in by Delfouneso.

      Match 4

      Coventry 5-3 Millwall
      Azogue 6
      Garvan 9
      Azogue 32
      G. Thomas 42
      Garvan 45
      Eccleston 78
      Azogue 82
      Frederiks 87

What a match, an absolute thriller. Azogue gave us an early lead, curling in after being played through the middle. Garvan headed in an equaliser before Azogue smashed in his second. Young striker Thomas headed in expertly before Garvan volleyed in just before the break. Eccleston made it 4 after cutting inside, dragging the ball into the bottom corner before Azogue completed his hat trick with tap in after Chamberlain crossed in. Frederiks headed in a consolation late on.

      Match 5

      Wigan 1-1 Coventry
      Razak 21
      Onwu 79

An extremely tough game but a wonderful bit of play between Razak and Dagnall allowed him to drag the ball into the bottom corner. Unfortunately, Onwu smashed in an equaliser from close range.

      League Table

      1. Reading 15
      2. Hull 13
      3. Stoke 12
      4. Bolton 12
      5. Blackburn 11
      6. Watford 10
      ...
      8. Coventry 10
      ...
      22. Wolves 2
      23. Leyton Orient 0
      24. Barnsley 0

      Thoughts
Not much depth in the squad and barely any budget. It's times like this that I wish someone would send me a nice gift wrapped Level 78 Financial Takeover to my mailbox, denn15c on PS3

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

        I have a quick question.

I'm currently in my 2nd season in career mode for FC Barcelona and I got offered the Argentina and Netherlands national team job. I took the Argentina one and took the team to the round of 16 but lost then.

Is there anyway I could resign from that position?

Yes. Go to your Office tab, then go down to the box that says "Browse Jobs" and using the right stick on that box you'll find the option "Resign Natl. Team"

Yeah, but you'll get offers for worse teams at first. Theyll gradually get better though.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I think I messed up my Arsenal career mode. I made too many signings. I thought Walcott is gonna grow old along with Gibbs in my 5th year, but they still had something to offer. I signed a bit too many players to have fun. Now at the start everyone is whining they wanna play more, even players who are regulars.

Depay finally started to grow for me after like 1,5 years. Munain who grew to 87 betrayed the club and wanted to leave for whatever reason, so I brought in Son from Bayer. I had Draxler for 4 years before this he wanted to move so I swapped him for James Rodriguez from Monaco. I feel like I still have some motivation left even though I have won everything once during these 5 years.

I also have a Wolfsburg, Southampton and AS Roma career started which are all in their second year and a Norwich one which is just at the beginning. Don't which to play sometimes

I don't know how you can do so many CMs at the same time lol I always do just 1 at a time. I think it helps me stay interested in it.

I know I haven't updated in a while, just haven't been able to play these past few days. It's 1am right now, and I have 3 games left in the month and don't work until 12pm tomorrow. I'll see if I can finish the month and post an update!

                      Aston Villa Career Mode Update

Well it's that time of year again. The summer transfer window.
There was a lot more action this Summer then last year as you will see below.
At the start of the season I realized that the pre-contract signings I invested in in January didn't work out. In fact it was one of the biggest mistakes I made in the transfer window in all of my career modes. The players all massively declined, Vidic is now 79 rated, Berbatov 76, Ronaldinho 75 and worst of all Evra 70.
Thankfully all of them except Vidic is retiring at the end of the season.
And without further ado, here is the first update of 2014/15. Enjoy.

                      Summer Transfer Window

                      Out:
Christian Benteke $70 million! to Bayern Munich
Darren Bent $3 million to Brighton
Joe Bennett $0.6 million to Leeds
Shay Given $0 to Southampton (wanted to leave)
+ 3 players out on loan

                      In:
Daniel Sturridge (87) $65 million from Liverpool
Amidu Salifu (74) (CM) $3.5 million from Barcelona
Alphonse Areola (GK) (69) on loan from PSG
Tom Ainsworth (RW) promoted from youth academy 65 rated 88-92 potential
Jamie Redmond (CB) promoted from youth academy 62 rated 84-88 potential

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Porto all came in with offers for Benteke.
I told them to pay 70 million since I really didn't want Benteke to go.
Madrid and Bayern both accepted and it was Bayern who got his signature.
Daniel Sturridge was way down the list of possible replacements until I found he had grown to an outstanding 87 in one season. At 24 years old I lept at the chance to bring him to Villa Park.
Other big deals in the window include:

Sergio Aguero to Real Madrid $70 million
Karim Benzema to Man City $40 million
Tiabaul Courtous to Atletico Madrid $25 million (forgive me if I spelt his name wrong)

                      August Results

                      Liverpool 0-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa 4-1 Elfsborg (Europa League Qualifying)

                      Aston Villa 0-2 Man City

Elfsborg 0-1 Aston Villa (We go through 5-1 on aggregate)

                      Aston Villa 2-1 Everton

Like last season a very tough start, but we did very well.
Daniel Sturridge has been on fire scoring 5 goals in 5 games with 2 assists.
Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich all got promoted last season.
We sit 7th. Level with 7 other sides on 6 points all chasing City who have 9.
Also the draw for the European Qualifiers is out:

                      Portugal
                      Sweden
                      England
                      Wales
                      NORWAY
                      Ireland

                      September Results

                      European Qualifiers:

Portugal 1-0 Norway (damm you Ronaldo)

                      Norway 2-1 Sweden

Nottingham Forest 0-2 Aston Villa (Capital One Cup)

                      Cardiff 0-1 Aston Villa

                      Aston Villa 3-1 Malmo

                      Aston Villa 2-1 Newcastle

                      Sunderland 1-2 Aston Villa

                      Fulham 0-1 Aston Villa

OK. We did win all of our matches but most were unconvincing. We sit second 3 points behind City.
Our Europa League group contains Inter, FK Austria and Malmo.
I will face tough competition in the Europa League with Dortmund, Arsenal, Napoli, Monaco and Inter all battling for the trophy. The board expects me to win it :/

After all the transfers here is my, Starting Line-up 2014-15:

                      GK: Guzan (81)

                      ST: Kozak (75)
                      ST: Aghbonlahor (73)

Who do you think I should sign in January?
($6 million budget. I expect more after the Europa League group stage is finished)

                      Any feedback appreciated

Probably a dumb question, but is there any way to view the international tables besides just the one that my team is in? I can't find them anywhere and I'd like to see how other countries are doing.

No, sorry, I just checked and unfortunately you can't.

I started a career with Atletico Madrid. My record is 5-3-6. I started off awful with the default formation but since I switched to 4-3-3 I've started winning more. I started off losing the first three games and that hurt my record. By the way Real Madrid is absolutely amazing. They picked up Luis Suarez and Lewandowski. Their record is 13-1-0 with their only tie to second place Real Sociedad. After the first few games Switzerland offered me a job and I took it. I won the first friendly versus Finland 3-1 or 4-1. Then I tied against somebody else I can't remember who. In the SuperCup I tied Barcelona 0-0 or 1-1. The second game i lost 2-0 and they won the SuperCup. In the Spanish Cup I lost the first game 1-0 to Milaga so I am out. I am 11th in La Liga. My goal difference is awful at -8. Real Madrid's goal difference is 26.

I signed a 16 year old I scouted from the USA. His overall is like 55 but his potential is around 80. I am trying to loan him to get him some experience. Same with a 17 year old that was already on the roster. Neither have gotten loaned yet. I am about to sign a few contracts and maybe work with the lineup. I'm going to scout more young guys too.

Diego Costa has scored 7 goals in 17 games. David Villa has scored 6 goals in 17 games. I was wrong with the records. Real Madrid is 15-2-0 and I am 6-4-7.

                                Starting 11:
                                GK: Courtois
                                LB: Filipe Luis
                                LCB: Godin
                                RCB: Miranda
                                RB: JuanFran
                                LCM: Koke
                                CM: Gabi
                                RCM: Mario Suarez
                                LW: David Villa
                                ST: Diego Costa
                                RW: Diego

P.S. Im not out of the Spanish Cup
