Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

    Time for some comments.

@Chico: Things are going well during those 2 months. Both were unbeaten with only 2 draws! Very nice going in the Copa Del Rey! You're putting it up to those La Liga boys. You are sitting in 2nd which isn't a bad place to be (though 1st is better! ) Guillermo is doing really well, what a find! Keep it up!

@Tex: Conrats on winning the league! van Neiff has been really good, same as he was with Exeter! Ciftci was amazing up top and Tschauner was great between the sticks. How much did you get Ciftci for? And was Tschauner already with the club? I'm looking forward to seeing how your team does against Bayern, Dortmund etc.

@Simp: Very nice transfers! Bale was a very good swap for Di Maria and has done fantastically! Alaba was a great buy too and he has plenty of years left in him yet! Robben was a bit of a gamble with his age but you'll get another season or 2 out of him! Tell me has Malanda played much for you? If so how did he do? I'm looking at CDM's for the new season and he is a possibility. Well done on getting 2 pieces of silverware already! September was also a very good month club wise (Apart from that Everton draw!) Great win against Brondby! I can see it's tough with Bulgaria but at least you have qualified anyway!

@Cruzerr: A good ending to the season before you got another injury! Terrible luck man. A nice bit of drama at the end with the phone call too! It sucks the way the game keeps crashing on you and because of that you can't continue. I really enjoyed it and the way it was written. I (think!) voted for a manager career.

@Jamie: A very dominant month! All wins is very good! Your first final! Who is it against? Perez looks like a good signing! Reid will be solid for you too.

Thanks! I was surprised that Real Madrid accepted the swap because Bale was worth a couple million more but I'm glad things worked out like they did. The reason behind signing Robben is that I wanted another winger who is world class and then I thought about the World XI and Robben. He has been linked with Man United so I decided to check if he's still highly rated and he was. I know that I won't be staying with ManU for more than a season so I just bought him.

Malanda played in two or three games, I'm not sure. He did well but I'm afraid that he'll start suffering from the Rode syndrome (which means that a CDM will play in the beginning well and after that he'll become terrible and too attacking-minded) but if that happens he will be in the 'Not' section.

I really hope I have qualified with Bulgaria because I'm not sure if I could beat a good team in a playoff round. There aren't any international fixtures apart from friendlies in my calendar so I'm positive.

        FC St. Pauli
        FIFA 15 - Season 2

        Die Freibeuter der Liga

        Summer Transfer Window

        Transfers Out

        Philipp Tschauner - €875K to Hannover 96
Ante Budimir - €1.4M to La Spezia
Michael Gorlitz - €325K to Crystal Palace
Philipp Heerwagen - €30K to Gil Vincente
Philipp Ziereis - €500K to Vancouver Whitecaps
Bentley Baxter Bahn - €180K to Vercelli
Marc Rzatkowski - Player exchange to RB Leipzig
Sebastian Maier - Loan to FC Augsburg
Maurice Litka - Loan to FC Thun

        Pre-Contract Arrivals

Joshua Gatt - From Molde FK
Dustin Bomheuer - From Fortuna Dusseldorf
Michal Mak - From GKS Belchatow
Mateusz Mak - From GKS Belchatow

        Transfers In

CDM, Rani Khedira - €400K + Marc Rzatkowski from RB Leipzig

Rani Khedira is a talented defensive midfielder who still has plenty of room to grow and expand his game. He isn't the strongest athletically, but his positioning is sound and makes up for it with his understanding of the game. While not as famous as his older brother, a chance in the Bundesliga could be his chance to prove himself.

GK, Patrick Rakovsky - €950K from 1. FC Nuremberg

Patrick Rakovsky looks to be the replacement for Philipp Tschauner and has even been handed the #1 shirt making his selection as first choice more likely. He spent last season in the second division where he caught the eyes of Tex Bumosix in matches against Nuremberg. It remains to be seen how he will fill in for Tschauner who led the second division in clean sheets last year.

RB, Leandro Bacuna - €750K from Aston Villa

Leandro has spent his past few years spread out between his parent club of Aston Villa, and out on loan to various clubs. He is a outside defender with a healthy combination of attacking instincts. Tex Bumosix likes his full backs to get involved in the attack, and Bacuna should fit nicely into the system.

ST, Rubio Rubin - €1.7M from FC Ultrecht

The young American striker has recently been getting looks from Klinsmann for the USMNT as he continues to make strides in his development. Perhaps the American connection is what caught the attention of Bumosix as he looks to bring the promising young attacker over to pair with Nothe and Çiftçi.

GK, Jindrich Stanek - €450K from Everton

The young Czech international is another option at keeper that Bumosix brought in after the vacancy was left by the sales of Tschauner and Heerwagen. He has a lot of development left until he can become a reliable first choice keeper, but he was one of the more promising prospects in Everton's system behind Tim Howard.

CM, Gianluca Gaudino - Loan from Bayern Munich

With several midfielders being sold, and Gedion Zelalem's contract talks falling through at the end of last season, Bumosix looked elsewhere to bring in another loan option for depth this year. Guadino is a Bayern youth product and a talented prospect on top of that. He still needs time to develop before he can contribute at Bayern, and this loan could be a great opportunity for him.

Thanks! Yoell van Nieff is amazing to have for lower leagues, he's a great holding midfielder, and his free kick stats are almost world class. I got Çiftçi for €500K + Verhoek who was a striker worth about €975K that was on my roster but not getting any playing time. And yep, Tschauner was on St. Pauli's squad when I started. He put in some great performances, and his two month clean sheet stretch was unbelievable. Defense struggled overall down the stretch though so the last part of the season wasn't so great from him, but he still led the league in clean sheets!

            FIFA 15 | PS3 | Season 1 | 2014-15

            The Swans

            May 2015

            Match 35
            Swansea 1-0 Stoke
            Shelvey 77'

            MotM: Federico Fernandez

After a first half dominated by Stoke Hayes switched to a 4-2-3-1 for the second half. After a fairly quiet opening Shelvey broke the deadlock and Hayes breathed a sigh of relief as the left footed goal hit the net. With 77 minutes on the clock Sigurdsson played a ball between the LB and CB into the path of Shelvey. He took a touch and finished it across the keeper. Bony had a counter attack chance saved by Begovic late on. Our defense was great today and Fernandez was the best of them in the heart of the it.

            Match 36
            Arsenal 2-1 Swansea
            Giroud 23'
            Ozil 55'
            Bony 71'

            MotM: Lukasz Fabianski

We were up against a rival for 5th spot and away as well. Arsenal applied big pressure in the opening 20 minutes and were rewarded for their efforts in the 23rd when Giroud slotted home. Ozil drove the nail further into our coffin on 55 minutes when he finished a move that sliced open our defense. Bony threw us a lifeline 20 minutes from time with his 17th league goal of the season sliding it under Szczesny after a Ki pass. We pushed forward looking for an equalizer and Bony hit the post with a header on 84 minutes. We came agonizingly close to getting a point but Arsenal seemed to want it more than we did and were the better team.

            Match 37
            Swansea 0-1 Manchester City
            Kompany 41'
            Vidal 74'

            MotM: Joe Hart

A counter attack was formed after Taylor won the ball back in our box and the ball found its way out to Sigurdsson who played a beautiful ball over the top to Berahino, he was kept onside by Clichy. Kompany had played for offside and so was a couple yards behind Berahino. Seeing no other way he slid in from behind taking Berahino out right on the edge of the box. He received a straight red for this dreadful tackle. We completely dominated the game but City scored the only goal through Vidal in the 74th minute. Negredo got past the defense and then back heeled it across to Vidal for him to tap into the net.

            Match 38
            Swansea 8-0 Crystal Palace
            Gomis 7'
            Dyer 23'
            Dyer 45'
            Gomis 50'
            Gomis 53'
            Shelvey 77'
            Ings 84'
            Sigurdsson 90'

            MotM: Bafétimbi Gomis

We needed to win here to have any chance of qualifying for the Europa League next season. Spurs would also have to lose or draw with Everton for us to go qualify. It got off to a great start as Gomis got on the score sheet just 7 minutes in. Berahino chipped a ball over the top for him and luckily the defenders clearance went up in the air and Gomis headed it powerfully in from the penalty spot. A second was added 20 minutes later when Berahino came short to receive the ball dragging Ramage out of position leaving space for Dyer to run into and get on the end of Berahino's pass and attack the goal. He then slipped it past Hennessey for the second. Dyer got himself a second right before halftime after Richards played a great ball over the top down the wing which Dyer controlled well. He skipped past Dann's challenge into the box and then Ledley's attempted sliding tackle in the box before smashing it into the net to make it 3-0. Showing bi signs of letting up when 5 minutes into the second half Gomis got goal number 4 after a pass from Ki. After hearing Spurs were 1-0 up against Everton we were determined to score as many as possible. Ki was played down the line and he cut inside to slide it across to Gomis for his hat trick just 3 minutes after getting his second. Shelvey got in on the act scoring the 6th after being played in by Ings. Montero played the ball to Ings and he turned onto his left getting himself a goal. A cross from Shelvey was cleared badly and it landed to Sigurdsson on the edge of the box. He struck it well and in off the post to make it 8-0. A great final day performance. Sadly it wasn't enough as Spurs beat Everton 2-1. We finished a point behind them in 6th. We now go into a Qualifying round to determine whether we will reach the group stage or not.

            La Liga: Real Madrid

            Youth Academy
Rhys Randall wanted out of the Youth Academy.
The 16 year old CM has 72-80 Potential and he signed a 2 year contract worth £500 a week. He came out 57 Ovr CM/CDM and will most likely be loaned.

            Joe Wilson also wanted out.
The 17 year old GK has between 76-82 Potential. He came out as a 63 Ovr and signed a 3 year contract worth £500 a week. He has a 5* weak foot and the 6'5" keeper has an acrobatic style.

            Elliot l'Anson - CDM/CB/LB - 55-65 Ovr - 70-82 Pot - 17
His stats lean more towards him playing in the CDM position in the future with good passing skills and attacking position. We are trying to persuade him to stay in the Academy for as long as possible.

            Liam Dyer - RW - 64-68 Ovr - 80-86 Pot - 15
Liam has the potential to become very like Nathan Dyer in the future. He is extremely pacey and has a lot of room to grow as he is still on 15. A future star.

            Lyle Halstead - CB - 50-54 Ovr - 69-73 Pot - 16
Lyle has settled at CB his preferred position but the 16 year old may not be good enough in the future for us and will probably be sold on. His age is also a problem as we would like him to spend another year in the Academy developing but he mightn't want to do this.

            Matt Moore - RM - 57-61 Ovr - 70-74 Pot - 16
The Wide Midfielder has good pace, dribbling and short passing stats. He could possible play in Central Midfield if need be in the future.

            Robbie Dempsey - CAM - 59-63 Ovr - 73-77 Pot - 16
Only recently turned 16 he is described as being technically gifted. He has all the right stats for a play-maker and looks like an ideal candidate to take over the set piece duties in the future.

            Tom McKenzie - CF - 54-60 Ovr - 70-78 Pot - 17
The 17 year old is described as a Winger and has the stats of winger but has decided to play at CF.

            Cian Kavanagh - CDM - 55-67 Ovr - 70-86 Pot - 16
The first Irishman to be brought over by Hayes. He has settled in the Centre Defensive Midfield role. We are trying to get him to spend another season in the Academy.

Wow, there's so much to catch up on, and it's going to take even longer. Work has been extremely busy, and will continue to be for the next week or so. I don't expect to be able to start playing until the 25th. But it looks like things are going well for everyone, which I'm glad to see.

                Real Betis January Update

Let’s start off with the games

Game 1 was a 1st leg R16 match in the Copa del Rey
                Real Betis vs Real Madrid
                3-2

This was an amazing match for both squads. Neither team backed down and the scoring machine Danny Ings seals the game with a 90’ header from a corner.

Game 2 was a not so brilliant draw at home against Rayo Vallecano. Neither team scored in the first half and in the 60’ minute Vallecano scores a crazy goal from outside the box. Dani Pacheco ties the game on a volley from outside the box in the 75th minute. Nothing else happened after that and the game ended 1-1

Game 3 was the second leg of the R16 match of the Copa del Rey against Real Madrid. This game was a disaster for Betis as Real Madrid go on to with the game 7-0

Game 4 was a tooth and nail battle between Real Betis and Atletico Madrid. Both teams played very well with Atletico Madrid prevailing 2-1

Game 5 was a game against RC Deportivo in which we were favored to win. Well we were up 1-0 until the 80 minute mark where I shoot myself in the foot by conceding an own goal.

Game 6 was an away fixture against Sevilla FC that took the full 90 minutes to decide the winner in which we won 3-2 on an amazing shot from outside the box by New signing Thievy Bifouma

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

I just wanted you guys to know that I'm only going to scout Ireland, Northern Ireland, England and Scotland for my Youth players. It restricts me a bit so I don't just go and scout the main countries like Spain, Brazil etc.

Also a question, Michu is back from loan at Napoli this season.
Should I sell or keep him? He has a fairly high wage and is getting closer to 30. I think my current strikers are enough; Bony, Gomis, Emnes, Berahino, Ings and 2 other 60s rated players. I just don't think I need him. What do ye think?

Also Indi: that's cool. Looking forward to the start of Eleche!

Sportsfreak: what a result against Real in the first leg! Shame about the 2nd though! Some nice signings! Can you send me the League table on Skype?

Also a question, Michu is back from loan at Napoli this season.
Should I sell or keep him? He has a fairly high wage and is getting closer to 30. I think my current strikers are enough; Bony, Gomis, Emnes, Berahino, Ings and 2 other 60s rated players. I just don't think I need him. What do ye think?

Also Indi: that's cool. Looking forward to the start of Eleche!

Sportsfreak: what a result against Real in the first leg! Shame about the 2nd though! Some nice signings! Can you send me the League table on Skype?

                      TOON TO THE TOP
                      SEASON 2
                      PS4

                      Player of Last Month

                      Kevin Kampl

Kampl had an absolutely blinding month, having a hand in every goal scored. He terrorised defenders down the wing and we can only hope he can continue to for the rest of the season.

                      Match 24

                      Newcastle 2-1 QPR
                      Sandro 10
                      Bony 24
                      Delph 90

Sandro opened the scoring for a spirited QPR, heading in from a good ball in, beating débutante Reid in the air. Bony equalised with a powerful finish but QPR held on strong to deny us a winner. Until the last minute when Delph turned his man and feathered it into the bottom corner with a beautiful finish.

                      Match 25

                      West Brom 3-0 Newcastle
                      Ideye 32 (PEN)
                      Ideye 44 (PEN)
                      Ideye 55

We got destroyed. Virgil got sent off for a rash tackle and Ideye converted the penalty. From then on they dominated. Gutierrez was brought down by Dummett and Ideye converted again. He then had a goal disallowed for offside before he completed his hat trick, curling into the bottom corner.

                      Match 26

                      Newcastle 2-1 Stoke
                      Barkley 5
                      Muniesa 39
                      Clichy 88

Barkley opened the scoring with a simple tap in before Muniesa took advantage of Clyne's sending off to run clear and knock into the bottom corner. We once again won it late on with Clichy's thunderous effort finding the top corner.

                      Match 27

                      Newcastle 1-0 Aston Villa
                      Barkley 80
Barkley curled in from just outside the box late on to get the only goal of a very, very, very dull game.

                      FA Cup Round 5

                      Newcastle 2-1 West Brom
                      Ideye 23
                      Ferguson 41

                      Simmed. Revenge!

Champions League Last 16 Leg 1

                      Newcastle 3-2 FC Barcelona
                      Bony 10
                      Neymar 30
                      Bony 45
                      Dzsudzsak 54
                      Messi 90

Here it is. The biggest game in a long time for this team. Bony opened the scoring, beating off Pique before smashing into the top corner beyond Bravo who was unable to stop a shot of such power. Neymar equalised, heading in from close range before Bony gave us the lead again with an excellent volley into the top corner. Dzsudzsak made it, Barkley playing the ball through for him to stroke into the bottom corner beyond Claudio Bravo. Messi came off the bench midway through the second half and stroked in on the rebound after Neymar forced an excellent save. We go to the Camp Nou with a tough task thanks to their away goals.

                      Ross Barkley

The first player to win 2 player of the month awards, it was deserved but a tight contest. He scored a lot of crucial goals and set up quite a few. It took him a while to get bedded in but now that he has, he is a crucial player for the team.

                        MOTM: Rakovsky

Both teams fought hard in the first half, but neither took an advantage going into the break. In the second half Koo Ja Cheol received the ball just outside the box and did a quick turn and fired a long shot into the top left corner of the net.

                        1899 Hoffenheim 0 - FC St. Pauli 0
                        MOTM: Buchtmann

Hoffenheim controlled the game in terms of possession, but St. Pauli were able to put more shots on goal. In the end, neither keeper let anything by and the game ended in an eventless draw.

                        MOTM: Rakovsky

St. Pauli lost the possession battle once again, but still won the shots on goal tally. Neither team was able to put anything in the net though with both keeper making impressive saves.

Bayer Leverkusen 4 - FC St. Pauli 6

Çiftçi then received the ball in the middle of the box and scored with a quick turn a shoot. Calhanogu fired a long range shot that glanced off a defender to push it out of the keeper's reach. Kießling added a second with a quick shot from the top of the box to the left post. Rubin played a great ball across the box to Çiftçi for the first time strike to the left post. Çiftçi then converted from the penalty spot to give St. Pauli the lead. Bellarabi raced past the defense to stretch out and tap home a cross to tie the match. St. Pauli Player of the Month

                        Patrick Rakovsky

Patrick Rakovsky was outstanding this month in St. Pauli's first few matches of Bundesliga play. With the step up many questioned letting Philipp Tschauner go, but with 2 clean sheets through 4 matches Rakovsky is putting that to rest. He even took home the man of the match honors against Mainz even with letting a goal in.

                        Press Conference
Q: A rough start to the Bundesliga going scoreless through the first thee games. Then you put up 6 against Bayer Leverkusen. Which performance shows what we can expect going forward?

A: I think we will have to, and we will, find a nice middle ground. In the first three matches, I was very happy with our defense, but we blew many chances in the attack. In the last match I was obviously very happy with our attack, but we let in 4 goals which is unacceptable. We have several new players and we all need to work to be on the same page.

Q: Nadir Çiftçi really carried the team in your only win so far, scoring 5 goals in just that one single match. After being held to none in each of the other's, what sparked the turnaround for him?

A: I think Nadir was very frustrated not getting any goals in the first three, especially with some of the chances he had. He used that frustration to motivate himself, and the results are clear. I've said since we signed him that he has no limit on his potential, and you saw just there what I meant by that.

Q: Several changes coming into this season, one of the main ones being your change in goal after selling Philipp Tschauner. Patrick Rakovsky has been fantastic so far as his replacement after you brought him in. Are you satisfied with how he has done so far?

A: It's tough to replace your keeper, especially one that led your league in clean sheets. But Patrick is someone that impressed me last year when we came against him. I am happy that he has transitioned well into his role here, but the last match shows that there is always some bad with the good. He is as upset as anyone to have conceded 4 in one match, but we got the 3 points and we all have to look forward now.

AD Alcorcon - RC Deportivo (0-0)

Recap: Tex would be proud. Deportivo has had a hell of a season and they played me tough on this one. We out shot them 10-1 (6-1 on goal) but at the end we couldn't score and we each came away from this one with just a point.

CL - Quarter Finals, 2nd Leg
                            AD Alcorcon - Bayer 04 Leverkusen (1-2, 7-4 agg)

Recap: Arkadiusz Milik scored another brace against us to give his side the win in this game against our B team but we advance to the semi finals thanks to the 6-2 beatdown we put on 04 back in Germany.

                            League Match 31
Real Valladolid - AD Alcorcon (1-1)

Recap: Painful draw against a clearly inferior opponent. We were never able to establish our superiority in this game so the final score was actually fair.

                            League Match 32
AD Alcorcon - Real Sociedad (4-2)
                            Ramirez 9' (OG)
                            Hervias 29'
                            Farago 45'
                            Correa 73'
                            Imbula 82'
                            Salawu 87'

Recap: Scary first half of this game starting with a very unfortunate own goal by Ramirez as he tried to stop a rocket shot before clearing it out but it instead bounced off his foot and into the back of the net. We were actually outplaying the visitors from the get go and this didn't change after the own goal but again they scored this time on their own account and 30 minutes end we were facing a hard deficit. But Farago's goal at the end of the first half gave us hope and we never gave up, and when Correa finally scored the equalizer with just under 20 minutes left new life came to us, then Imbula and Salawu finished off the comeback. A fair score as we outshot Real Sociedad 16-2, 12-2 on shots on goal.

                            League Match 34
AD Alcorcon - Real Madrid (4-0)

                            Knoll 73'

Recap: Ladies and gentlemen this team is officially EN FUEGO. 4-0 victory against the league leaders who had beat us 3-1 in our matchup earlier this season? In our dreams, and this game was dreamy. Unfortunately missed points earlier in the season mean we're still behind Barca and Real in the league but these two wins against them keep us in the hunt for the league title.

                            League Match 35
Villareal CF - AD Alcorcon (1-2)
                            Farago 8'

                            Aquino 81

Recap: We were close to getting back to the old days when Villareal was a royal pain in our behinds but we put them away to push our La Liga winning streak to 4.

                            League Match 36
RCD Mallorca - AD Alcorcon (1-0)
                            Mitroglou 58'

Recap: Mallorca is officially on our S-list after likely ruining any chance we had left to jump to 1st place, this after they eliminated us in the early rounds of Copa Del Rey. Mitroglou's shot was a perfectly crossing shot from right to left as he streamed into the box. We were never able to get a perfect shot like that. Just a big, crushing blow for us.

                            League Match 37
AD Alcorcon - Atletico Madrid (1-2)
                            Bender 15'
                            Leo Baptistao 68'
                            Lopez 71'

Recap: Guess it was downhill from that last game on. Our performance level has inexplicably dropped an Atletico really played just as good if not better than us. Not the way the fans expected us to perform in our last home game of the season. We've gone from league title contenders to hoping to finish no lower than 3rd so this last game is important. The league scoring title is also up for grabs with Baptistao, Suarez, and Lopez all tied at 18 goals.

                            League Match 38
Malaga CF - AD Alcorcon (1-3)
                            Lopez 10'
                            Samu Castillejo 19'
                            Farago 31'
                            Soares Martins 90'

Recap: And we officially book a return ticket to the Champions League (if we fail to win the final) by holding on to 3rd place with this victory. Lopez also ends up as the Pichichi thanks to his one goal and Baptista and Suarez coming up empty in their respective games.
