Well, I would have to say that you did some inspired business in this window. Some very big signings, obviously bringing in the likes of Rabiot and Ince are great to really up the technical quality in the side, and Declan John is a player you had on your shortlist for quite a while. The rest of the signings are great because like you said the team really lacked depth last season and that was probably a big key that hurt you down the stretch. You also really got younger and a lot of young talent that should be able to grow and give you a much higher ceiling than the players that you let leave the squad.

Delph is in your starting lineup as well correct? I would love to see how you are setting up the squad now with all of the new blood that you brought in.

Really good results for you in the league, interesting to see Starke getting the better of his old partner Neuer, and really making an impact at the back for you. You've gotten off to a great league start, though your nemesis Dortmund still looms near you in the table and is the one team you really need to break through on. Ciftci is still the star, though it looks like Werner is coming into his own as well and may quickly make it "his team."

For the middle of the park, if you can fit both Grenier and Pastore into your team, I wholeheartedly suggest it. Out wide, I'm not a big fan of Januzaj, but he may work for you. I'd go for someone like Nathan Redmond, or if you want a budget option, Serge Gakpe is good for his fee. Deeper in midfield, I suggest Gueida Fofana if you want a real engine, or if you need a deep-lying playmaker/defensive anchor, you can't go wrong with Lee Cattermole (criminally underrated) or Lassanna Diarra.

Yeah, they didn't hand me a large kitty in terms of advanced budget here in January, but finally selling off some dead wood players will give us a bit of funds to play with and make the best of. We're not losing any key players from this season's lineup, so the moves are really trying to set us up for success next season, with my goals really moving to finishing in 4th place as it would be what would entice a player like Pastore to come to East London. He's really my main focus, as getting top quality players on free transfers is huge to building the squad. Cattermole would be a very solid addition, though probably unnecessary with Delph doing the dirty work and also having Kouyate in the squad. Fofana may definitely go on my shortlist for next year with so much versatility shown from him. I'm actually starting to lean away from Januzaj and keeping Jarvis, because Pastore can play on the left as well and I have a new move that may come out of nowhere but should really mix up the squad.

Bringing Song back would be nice, especially since you have experience with him already from that loan deal. You've got me excited to see who you do end up bringing in.

Like I said to Indi, Pastore would really be the new linchpin in my side, with so much technical quality. I'm really going to be raiding Ligue 1 if I can convince him to sign haha, having already brought in Rabiot in the summer and Grenier on the free for next season. Song would be ideal for me to come back in his favored CDM role, but he's such a pain in the *** in contract negotiations that I don't know how viable it will be.

Just watched the shootout! Unlucky for Lovern a CB to be taking one. Salah scored against Spurs!

Everton are going strong through Lukaku though with his 5th goal of the 2 ties. My dad is over at the Feyenoord vs Roma game so let's hope there's some goals!

Recap: We apologize to any fans suffering heart-attacks whether on the stands or on their couches. After closing October with a nail-biting 3-2 victory our very first game of November in the league is another thrilling victory against one of the best teams in Spain. I need to get my heart checked too after a Morientes' cross from the right wing ended on Lopez's winning goal after the Uruguayan (5'9") beat Sergio Ramos (6'0") to the ball in the air.

Recap: 3 games in 9 days meant that this game, just 3 days after the Real Madrid thriller, belonged to the B team and they responded with a solid victory and a clean sheet to give us a solid edge going into the 2nd leg. They dominated their Liga Adelante opponent, outshooting them 13-4, 10-1 on goal. Hiroya Imada is that kid from your academy who isn't even on your radar but gets your attention every time he gets on the pitch. He's a very serviceable striker coming off the bench.

They may be even better than Chelsea and Liverpool in past years. This result all but locks the England club as the winner of the group though it also helps us clinch a spot in the next round

Recap: This is bordering on the ridiculous now. I'm legitimately worried for my health. Villareal, who for the longest time were a thorn on our side until recently, seemed to be back to their old tricks putting our La Liga winning streak in danger. But our onslaught of attack (18 shots, 14 on goal) eventually paid off when Lopez finally equalized the score with about 20 minutes left in the game, then the cardiac moments were delivered again when Lopez found Morientes for the go-ahead goal just minutes before the end and subsequently sealed the scored by forcing a penalty kick and scoring it. The streak lives on, but fans with a heart condition may be better off not watching us anymore. Can't make this up.

Yet another undefeated month with Arsenal once again keeping us from going perfect. Although our goal was to win the group it's hard to be disappointed with clinching a spot in the Round of 16 with one game left to play, hats off to Arsenal. On the league side, really running out of adjectives to describe the magic. The 15-game winning streak to start the season ties us with Real Madrid's 1960-1961 squad for the second longest in La Liga's history and puts us just one behind the record (in Spain) held by Barca's 2010-2011 squad. Our next opponent? Barca. Stay away if you have a heart condition indeed.

A 6-goal month leads to Player of the Month honors for Nico Lopez who is back in sole possession of the league lead in scoring with 15. After a 7-goal effort last month Angel Correa went scoreless in November but he's still 2nd in scoring in the league with 10, just above Edu Vargas of Sevilla with 9. Farago made a mockery of the race in the assists department after his 3-assist effort against Depor and he now has twice as many assists (10) as the 2nd best assist-man in La Liga (Suarez of Real Madrid has 5). I would also like to take this moment to give a shoutout to our young goalkeeper, Carlos Alberto, who has stepped up in Courtois' absence (injury) to deliver a couple of clean sheets and help us stay undefeated in November. He'll need to keep up form for at least a couple more games as Courtois could still be out for 3 more weeks.

In academy news our scouts in Ivory Coast, Norway, and the United States have now submitted their second reports and there has been some movement on this end. Let's take a look at the youth squad:

Jaime Zavaleta (ATT, 56-72 OVR, 76-94 POT)*: 16-year old from USA showing excellent speed. A lock to be either a winger or striker.
Boubacar Mensah (ATT. 53-67 OVR, 74-94)*: 16-year old from Ivory Coast very similar to Zavaleta not only in size but also in skillset. Will be either a RW or a ST.
Mansour Haron (CB, 62-66, 85-91): 17-year old from Saudia Arabia who understands (for now) that he's better served staying in the academy and working on improving his game as there are already too many guys as good as him on the senior roster. Of course, his mammoth size (6'6", 198 lbs) does give him a certain edge.
Omar Vindheim (CDM, 45-55, 74-90): 15-year old from Norway described as defensive minded. Stands strong at 6'2", 167lbs.
Alexander Antonsen (LB. 44-54, 71-91)*: 16-year old from Norway who will be developed as a CB due to his lack of speed and size of 6'2", 176lbs.
Julio Gutierrez (LW, 56-60, 73-79): 17-year old from Spain who needs to continue to work on his game in the academy. Will be promoted if he asks to but he'll be nothing but a loan candidate.

* Denotes recent addition to the academy.

In academy related news, a promising player out of Ivory Coast, Chinedu Acheampong (MID/ATT, 39-51, 65-89, 15 Y/O), was snatched by Drogheda Utd. of Ireland before we could make up our mind as to whether we wanted to sign him. It'll be interesting to see how he develops.

Comments: after a very disappointing end to the qualifiers (though, as a reminder, we did qualify for the 2022 WC) we took this opportunity to explore our roster options so we called the next set of upcoming players in Argentina, top among them Jose Miguel from Alcorcon. As you can see neither the B team (vs Sweden), nor the C team (vs Egypt) had a dominant performance and the C-team flirted with disaster before 2 very unlikely heroes (the starter and backup at CDM) came through for them. On a positive note Miguel was able to score for the first team with the Albiceleste, undoubtedly an unforgettable memory for him.

Rabbit: Amazing month staying unbeaten, but errrr maaaaa gerrrrd I can't wait for your next update! A match against Barcelona will always be important a difficult, that's a given, but you will be playing for the all time unbeaten streak in Spain! That match is gonna be more tense than a final! If this was real life, I'd be glued to my tv cheering you on man. You're also well on your way to winning the treble this season is living up to everything I expected. Keep going!

Keano: I was happy for you when I saw that Luke James was still with Hartlepool in the default squads, and now I'm really glad you've been able to make him work! The kid is on fire and since you're gonna have him since your first season he'll surely become a world star. You're doing great so far, really looking forward to the match against the Wombles

Jamie: I'm not gonna lie it feels weird seeing the team crest on someone else's update, but I'll get used to it! Like I said, it would be wrong for to forbid everyone on this forum from making a career with them. Plus you have a different set of players that I did, I never played with Akinfenwa or Tubbs for example, and it's on a new game as well so it will be different. Indi: That budget! That's intense man wow. I liked how you didn't blow it all on one player but instead brought in a ton of depth. Reminds me of a Moneyball scenario. Another thing I liked is that with the new signings you are now able to play Mackay-Steven in the center, which is already making an impact on your score sheets. I never got to say congrats for finishing 10th last season so congrats, but I have high hopes for you this season!

Texasbum: Hell of a start to the month. Four clean sheets in a row and one of them against Bayern. It was a great run until Mönchengladbach came and ruined everything. That was pretty much the only downside as you also defeated Dortmund and you're in a great position on the table. The Champions is another story though. You're in a tough group with Inter and Madrid being the historical favorites of course. I'm starting to get worried man hope you can turn it around. The match against Madrid leaves some high hopes for the next round though. The last minute goal was a heartbreaker but you put the keeper to work so I know you have the potential to beat them next time out.

After Loe handed in his transfer request Chavez began looking for a possible replacement, and in the end it was Real Betis' number 10 Nono. Nono is a defensive midfielder with the characteristics of a playmaker, excelling in passing and dribbling which allows him to play anywhere in midfield. The Spaniard's contract was running out with Betis which made it easy for Osasuna to capture a great deal for him. It was leaked that when Osasuna were negotiating Nono's contract, Real Betis received a $1,000,000 offer for him from Saint Ettiene, but since Betis had already accepted Osasuna's $600,000 they had to honor it when Nono chose to go to Pamplona. Nono will wear the now vacant #23 jersey.

**IRL he's been used at LB by Gijon, so in more recent squad updates EA drastically improved his defensive stats. Unfortunately I started this career before said squad update, so even though LB is listed as his third position he has poor defensive stats. I'm not planning on playing him there anyway but still, it would be nice to have that option either way lol**

La Coruña has been a very difficult opponent for Osasuna, as they seem to have studied Chavez's game to the letter. Osasuna went ahead early on though as the debuting youth graduate Paré Bulhões Romeu overlapped down the left wing and crossed the ball to find Federico Palacios in the box, who then managed to head the ball into the back of the net. Deportivo's Medunjanin equalized in the 27th minute with a header of his own though, and the match was extremely tight from then on. Neither team had an advantage over the other and it looked like it would be ending in a draw. Kenan Kodro was subbed in to play as the target man since Palacios was being overpowered by his markers, but even Kodro couldn't find clear chances. Right before the final whistle Kodro shielded the ball at the edge of the box as he was being double teamed by the two centre backs, managed to send a through ball into the box anticipating Camarasa's run, who put everything he had left in the tank to get to the ball before the rushing goalkeeper, slid in to reach it and scored!

Osasuna were getting their first win against La Coruña this season and were also taking two very important away goals for the second leg. The referee ended the match while many supporters were still cheering on that final goal. Osasuna youth graduate Romeu was named the Man of The Match after not only assisting the first goal but being very dangerous when he overlapped. This kid seems to have a bright future ahead of him.

CA Osasuna (B-Team) 1 - 1 Celta de Vigo
OSA: Kodro 37'
CEL: Larrivey 86'
The B Team strongly deserved the win tonight, but Celta's goalkeeper Yoel was on fire making 12 saves throughout the match and earning the MOTM award. Guillermo saw a few minutes at the end of the second half as he was recently cleared by the medical team. He was not able to score, but looked very promising with a few shots on goal that Yoel had to show off his acrobatic skills to keep out.

Copa Del Rey - Round of 16 (2nd Leg)
CA Osasuna 2 (4) - (4) 3 Deportivo La Coruña
DEP: Toche 37' 45' 64'
OSA: Guillermo 69' Torres PEN 88'
This match marked the return of Guillermo to the starting eleven, but unfortunately it wasn't a happy day as Deportivo eliminated the Basques on away goals rule. La Coruña came out in full attack as they needed to rally from the defeat in the 1st leg, and Toche responded by leading the team with a hat-trick that buried Osasuna. Los Rojillos looked completely neutralized as they usually do against Deportivo, with Palacios unable to adjust to his new role at RW and Guillermo still trying to climb back to form after being out for 2 months. Roberto Torres initiated Osasuna's comeback by sending a lobbed through pass from the left wing to Guillermo, who then used his pace and ball control to get into the box and score his first goal from injury.

Guillermo celebrated the goal with a sign of relief, but the celebrations had to be cut short as the team was still down on aggregate. Osasuna attacked and attacked but Deportivo's defense just wouldn't let them catch a break, until Oier was fouled by Deportivo's goalkeeper during a loose ball in the box. Roberto Torres stepped up to take the penalty and scored it to equalize the aggregate, but the job wasn't done yet. Chavez went full-out attack trying to get the goal that would put them through to the next round but there wasn't enough time, and the referee blew the whistle for Osasuna's elimination. Last year's runners-up have been kicked out in the Round of 16.

Sevilla CF 0 - 0 CA Osasuna
SEV: Rabello RED CARD 40'

Just like the first time these two clubs faced each other two months ago, nothing was able to separate them. There were no shots on goal for the entire first half, that's how closed this match was. Sevilla's Rabello received a direct red card in the 40th minute for a slide tackle from behind that prevented Sergi Darder from starting a counter attack, but not even a difference in men on the field was enough to separate these two. After the red card we finally got to see some shots on goal but Sevilla's Russian captain Igor Akinfeev was at the top of his game, earning the MOTM award with 9 saves. Sevilla's sending off was almost unnoticeable at times as their manager adapted to the situation well, but it also caused them to sacrifice their attacking game and weren't able to get a single shot on goal in the entire match. Osasuna looked for the goal the entire second half, but Sevilla's incredible defensive work earned them the draw.

CA Osasuna 0 - 0 Deportivo La Coruña
We all thought Osasuna would come out and give Deportivo a bashing in vengeance for the Copa Del Rey elimination, but instead we saw another typical Osasuna - Deportivo match with neither team able to get the best of the other. This match has also raised many doubts regarding the Basques' starting eleven. Last month was an extraordinary one for Osasuna with Palacios at striker while Guillermo was injured. Now Chavez has tried to squeeze both players in the lineup by moving Palacios out wide to the right wing while giving the ST position back to Guillermo, and it has not been a very productive switch. Guillermo seems to lack confidence still, and Palacios is clearly not as accustomed to the wing as he is to the center. Osasuna were booed off the field by their own fans at the end of the match.

Valencia CF 3 - 3 CA Osasuna
VAL: Alcacer PEN 28' Rodrigo 82' 89'
OSA: Palacios 59' Ramirez 84' Guillermo 87'
We couldn't have found a more exciting way to end a match with 4 goals being scored in the final eight minutes of the match! Valencia started the scoring from the penalty spot in the 28th minute that Paco Alcacer calmly converted into a goal. Valencia went into halftime with the lead and Osasuna grew desperate as they try to shake off this drawing spree they find themselves in. Federico Palacios shocked us all by scoring an incredible goal in the second half to equalize the match. Valencia had rejected a corner which fell to Ivan's feet. Ivan tried to take a shot from outside the box but it was blocked by Valencia's defenders. The ball deflected towards Palacios' position who in one touch curved the ball into the top corner of the net. Diego Alves made an attempt to save it but there was nothing he could do at that point.

As we neared the end of the match it looked like it would finish 1-1, but Rodrigo put Valencia back in the lead with an amazing volley in the 82nd minute. It looked like it would be all over at that point given how much Osasuna struggled to score their first goal, but the Jose David Ramirez managed to equalize the match again just two minutes later by heading in a rebound. The winger had been subbed in to add an attacking spark to the team and he did just that. Just three minutes after that, Ramirez played Guillermo through on goal who used his speed and strength to shake off his marker, get into the box, and score the third for Osasuna!

Osasuna were about to park the bus to hold the lead, but a defensive mistake by both Albentosa and Flaño allowed Valencia's Rodrigo to get a header two minutes later and equalize the match at 3-3. Valencia may have scored the last goal, but the match felt overall like a defeat for them as they had the lead twice and blew it in their own stadium.

CA Osasuna Player of The Month

CB - Raul Albentosa (Spain) (73 OVR 27yrs) (+2)
Raul has developed really well since signing from SD Eibar last season, and has become a solid defender for Osasuna week in week out. He's great with the ball on the ground, often being the one to block shots before they make it to Riesgo's net, and with his 6'4" stature any aerial ball is easily cleared if he's anywhere near it. Miguel Flaño's leadership and experience has served him well. Osasuna spent the majority of this month trying to figure out how to organize their attack, so the team's defense was vital in order to at least take a point from the matches, and he was one of the main reasons they were able to keep the opposition out. Yes the match against Valencia was rather poor from the back line, but it was still not enough to void the impressive work he did throughout the month.

Youth Scouting Resumes
This transfer window hasn't been a very busy one for Osasuna given the team's recent financial issues. Pretty much the only money that was invested in transfers was the profit from Loe's sale to Malaga. However the little money that was left over from the transfer window has been used to get the Youth Academy up and running again, with the club's 3*/3* scout going out on a trip within Spain in search for "technically gifted" players. The club has also hired a new 3*/2* scout but his scouting trip will not initiate until February 7th, where it's believed he will travel to the United States in search of goalkeepers.

Guillermo or Palacios?
Almost this entire month, the discussion on sports news shows have been about who should be the first team's striker, the club's top scorer Guillermo (74 OVR) or the up-and-coming Palacios (64 OVR). Guillermo was the go to striker before his injury but in his absence Palacios has taken the title. If Palacios cannot adjust to playing RW full time, should he replace Guillermo at ST, or should Chavez adjust his system to accommodate both players? Chavez has been known to be a bit stubborn in the past though...

Conclusion
I know, I know. I sucked. Nothing but draws in the league. On the bright side, I finally got the team to score in the match against Valencia, and surprisingly I'm still close to a European spot. I know Guillermo and Palacios can work out up front together. I just know it. If I move to a two striker formation I would have to go with a narrow formation due to my lack of quality wingers. In fact, now that I think of it it actually sounds like a good idea. I've been playing ahead and the 4-3-3 Holding has great moments though, so I'll keep trying. If not, I may try out the 4-4-2 Diamond Narrow.

I'm low on time right now so I'll have to end it here. I'm working on a quick squad layout so you guys can see what I'm working with. Will be posting it soon. Any feedback is appreciated and as always,

February 2016 - Season 2
FIFA 15 (PS4)

INJURY NEWS
Guillermo suffered a pulled hip flexor in training and will be out for 7 days. Player will miss the match against Barcelona.

FC Barcelona 2 - 2 CA Osasuna
FCB: Sanchez 9' Suarez 43'
OSA: Palacios 12' 88'
Due to Guillermo's second injury of the season, David Ferreiro returned to the starting lineup with Palacios back to ST in Chavez's 4-3-3 Holding. Even though this was the exact same lineup that defeated Barcelona 3-1 in Pamplona, Barcelona proved to be a complete different monster at the Camp Nou with Alexis Sanchez scoring an early goal to put the Catalans ahead. Osasuna hit back just three minutes later though, with Palacios sprinting past Pique and then take a shot on goal with nothing but power. The ball went straight at Bravo but with too much power on the ball he couldn't react correctly and the ball went in!

Barcelona were the better side even after the equalizer but Osasuna wouldn't give up another goal. As we neared halftime the referee called a foul at the edge of Osasuna's box though, and when you're playing a team like Barcelona giving up a free kick from that distance is almost a guaranteed goal. Luis Suarez took the free kick and sent the ball directly at Asier Riesgo, but the Basque goalkeeper didn't put his hands up on time and the ball went into the net through his own post. Barcelona remained the dominant team with Osasuna trying to equalize but with no clear chances. Palacios was having a terrible time at the center of attack against Barcelona's Mascherano and Pique, so Chavez subbed in Kenan Kodro to play ST and replaced the RW Ferreiro with Palacios. Osasuna looked better, but still not good enough. Barcelona wanted vengeance for that 3-1 defeat they suffered a couple months ago and kept pushing forward, leaving themselves vulnerable to a counter attack. Osasuna capitalized on this in the final minutes of the match as Palacios was played through on the right wing and launched a counter! Palacios was one on one with the keeper, but instead of taking his shot he tried to pass the ball to Kodro for the tap in, but Gerard Pique slid and intercepted the pass before Kodro could take the shot! The ball was right about to go out for a corner but Palacios reached it! And took his shot despite having almost no angle to shoot and equalized the match with only two minutes left to play!

Barcelona pushed to retain the lead but Osasuna parked the bus and held the equalizer. A draw with a taste of victory for Osasuna.

CA Osasuna 2 - 0 Real Sociedad
OSA: Cuevas 57' Guillermo 90'
After multiple matches of being almost invisible on the field, Miguel De Las Cuevas finally fulfilled his role in midfield by getting a goal, and what a goal it was! Geronimo Rulli has proven to be a tough goalkeeper to beat when facing Osasuna, and only an extraordinary goal like this could have taken away his clean sheet. De Las Cuevas received the ball at the edge of the box and without thinking twice took his shot, which went high but slowly began to drop into the top corner of the net, absolutely nothing Rulli could do to stop it.

Real Sociedad of course looked very dangerous going forward, but with their star man Carlos Vela heavily marked by Sisi, a natural winger himself, Sociedad could do little to threaten Riesgo's goal. In the final ten minutes of the match the San Sebastián club went all out attack to get back into the match, but Osasuna's own star forward ended all hope they had by scoring the 2nd goal of the night in the 90th minute. Guillermo had dribbled into the box and took a powerful shot on goal that had Rulli reacted just a quarter of a second earlier he would have reached it.

The goal was massive for Guillermo who has been struggling to get back into form after his injury.

Europa League - Round of 32 (1st Leg)
CA Osasuna (B-Team) 2 - 0 Panathinaikos
OSA: Kodro 48' 90'

The Osasuna B-Team, who have been underdogs this entire competition, have managed to get a healthy lead on aggregate against the Greek side Panathinaikos. Contrary to what the scoreline would suggest, Osasuna were not the dominant side. In fact, Panathinaikos' 4-4-2 Diamond Narrow frequently found spaces down the middle of Osasuna's much wider 4-3-3, and if it weren't for the Basques' goalkeeper Rodriguez they could have even taken the lead on several occasions. Rodriguez has slowly been adapting to European football since arriving from Mexico, and is already making claims to see some time with the first team through his great performances with the B Team. With Toño Rodriguez blocking anything and everything that came his way, Osasuna held the 0-0 through halftime waiting patiently for their chance which came in the 48th minute through Kenan Kodro who headed the ball into the net to put Osasuna in the lead! The other Mexican in the squad, Jose David Ramirez, also had a great game by assisting Kodro's first goal with a cross and then also provoking the Greek defenders to foul him inside the box after dribbling past two defenders.

Unfortunately, the resulting penalty would be sent over the crossbar by the new signing Nono, who was most likely too nervous as he asked Marcos Alonso to let him take the shot seeing as this would have been his first goal for in Osasuna's colors and his first goal in Europe. The missed penalty was like a breath of fresh air for Panathinaikos who fought heavily for the equalizer after that, but they simply weren't able to get past Jose Antonio Rodriguez who defended the net with his life tonight. Osasuna stretched their lead in the final minute as Kenan Kodro completed his brace and earned the MOTM award with Rodriguez a close second for the award. Osasuna haven't been good at holding an aggregate lead going into the second leg this season, so there's still everything to play for when they visit Greece.

Athletic Bilbao 3 - 1 CA Osasuna
OSA: Guillermo 29'
BIL: Ibai Gomez 31' Susaeta 44' 45'
Bilbao have avenged their defeat to Osasuna earlier this season by walking over them tonight, displaying their class. The beginning of this match was much different than the first time these two faced each other, with Osasuna dominating possession against what appeared to be an alternative Bilbao lineup in midfield. Guillermo scored the first goal by netting a rebound, being careful during his celebration as this goal was against the club that gave him the opportunity of being a professional footballer.

Ibai Gomez reacted for Bilbao straight away from kick off and equalized the match just two minutes after the goal with a header. Susaeta would then put Bilbao in the lead in the 44th minute, as Gomez sent in a cross that went past Aduriz and found Susaeta wide open at the other end of the box, making it extremely easy for him to head the ball into the net. About one minute later, Bilbao made the same exact play and again found Susaeta wide open on the other end of the box for him to score. An absolutely terrible display of defending from Osasuna. Los Rojillos did everything they could to get back into the match but Kepa Arrizabalaga refused to give up another goal. Athletic Bilbao took the win with three shots and three goals.

Europa League - Round of 32 (2nd Leg)
CA Osasuna (B-Team) 1 (3) - (0) 0 Panathinaikos
OSA: Nono PEN 28'
PAN: Syropoulos RED CARD 45'
The B-Team continues to fight in the cup, as they knock out the Greek side with a 3-0 scoreline on aggregate. The match was very similar as the first leg, with Panathinaikos' 4-4-2 Narrow frequently exposing Osasuna's 4-3-3, but again the Olympic gold medalist Jose Antonio Rodriguez stood his ground and held the clean sheet. The Greeks learned from the first leg and heavily marked Kenan Kodro to prevent him from having an impact on the game, but a mistake by the RB Syropoulos caused them a penalty which this time was hit well and on goal by Nono to make it 1-0.

Syropoulos would later receive his second yellow before halftime thanks to an aggressive slide tackle from behind on Marcos Alonso. Syropoulos' overlapping runs were a huge part of Panathinaikos' attack, so with him off the field the Greeks weren't as dangerous anymore. The little they could attack was quickly resolved by Rodriguez who this time earned the MOTM award. Panathinaikos were still solid at the back even with a man down and prevented Osasuna from scoring again, but the damage was already done and they had to say farewell to Europe.

Jose David Ramirez suffered a Bruised Shoulder during the match against Panathinaikos, and will be out for 5 days. Player will miss the match against Real Madrid.

CA Osasuna 1 - 1 Real Madrid
REA: Aguero 57'
OSA: Camarasa 80'
Real Madrid had Osasuna on the edge the entire match, dominating possession and always looking dangerous in attack. Regardless, Osasuna still managed to hold the 0-0 into halftime as they defended with their lives. Osasuna focused on hitting with counter attacks, with the wingers Torres and Palacios instructed to stay forward and allow Marcelo and Carvajal to overlap, as that would leave Madrid's back line outnumbered 3 to 2 for counters. The plan worked well, but Osasuna still couldn't get a ball past Iker Casillas. The Castilians took the lead first with a Kun Aguero header that made it past Riesgo, and the match stayed that way until we were treated to a huge surprise in the 80th minute. Victor Camarasa pushed forward to the edge of the box, and with nobody open for a pass decided to take the shot himself. The ball looked to be going wide, but it hit the post and went into the net!

Osasuna had equalized but still had ten minutes left to play. Chavez chose to park the bus seeing as there was no visible chance of taking the lead and Madrid were pushing forward with everything they had. Osasuna followed Chavez's instructions and held the draw, taking an important point from a match they were the favorites to lose.

CA Osasuna Player of The Month

GK - Jose Antonio Rodriguez (Mexico) (70 OVR 23yrs) (+3) (*B-Team)
The London 2012 gold medalist has come a long way since joining Osasuna in August, and seems to be improving with each match. Rodriguez's strength has always been his reflexes, and this month he showed it by making incredible saves in the Europa League even from short distance shots. Rodriguez only has 3 clean sheets with the B-Team, two of them achieved this month, but has been in excellent form all season which brings into question the defensive work of Jon Echaide and Ignasi Miquel. The young goalkeeper is slowly starting to demand a shot with the first team through his performances. Asier Riesgo will have to pick up his form again if he wants to keep his starting spot.

Chavez has chosen to honor the B-Team's work in the group stage and continues to field them for the knockout stage, where they showed their appreciation with a great win over Panathinaikos. Their opponent in the Round of 16 will not be as easy as the Greeks though, as they will travel to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur. It is believed Chavez will still field the alternative lineup as they have earned it.

Conclusion and Player Instructions
So there you have it. A tough and frustrating month for me. I'm still within 3 points of a European spot, but I'm starting to feel like the game is just teasing me. Each time I'm in a scenario where a win would put me in Europe my opponent plays an impeccable match. Granted it was against Bilbao and Real Madrid, but still lol. I'm still trying to make Palacios work at RW with mixed results. I think I'm starting to figure it out though. I had Torres with the instructions to get in behind, stay forward, and cut inside since he was my attacking winger, while I had David Ferreiro only with the instruction to get in behind since he was my crosser and support. When I put Palacios at RW, I wanted to keep him near the box at all times and thus gave him the instruction to stay forward and get in behind, so I have had both Torres and Palacios up front the whole time, which in turn has made my back line very vulnerable especially my full backs. I hadn't thought of it until the Real Madrid match when I went to put the "stay forward" instruction on them and noticed that they both had it already. Since Torres is naturally a CAM, I will remove that instruction on him so he can come back and support the midfield more, becoming my crosser and support now. That way he and Cuevas can take over the playmaking responsibilities. I will only leave the "get in behind" instruction on him so he can do the rest as he pleases. As for Palacios, who will become my winger/striker, I will instruct him to stay forward, cut inside, get in behind, and also to get into the box for crosses. He may be too short to win many headers, but having him in the box will at least stop the defense from surrounding Guillermo during crosses. The instructions will be very specific on him, so depending on how it works out I will begin to remove some to make his instructions more general.

So, what do you think? I haven't played ahead at all so now I'm really anxious to get off work, make the girlfriend fall asleep, and try out the instructions! Haha

Sorry for the back to back updates. There's already enough reading to do on here right! Lol the first update was ready yesterday but I didn't have time to post it. Today has been a slow shopping day so I found myself with enough time to reply to a few careers on here and even finish up the second update. It's been a good day

Still need to push out the squad list. I'll make sure to get that taken care of before I shut off the console tonight. I always lag it with squad reviews/list sorry guys!

After making a host of moves, we have a 23-man squad to compete for a spot in the top half of the table. Actually, I would say that with a bit of luck, we are well capable of even qualifying for next year's Europa League. I moved away from the 4-4-2 to the 4-2-3-1 with a trio of attacking midfielders for a number of reasons, and we'll explore them as we analyse this squad. Let's begin at the top and work our way down the list.

Stevie May was supposed to be on the way out this summer, but this 4-2-3-1 lets him play a poacher's role, and I believe he will excel without a strike partner. Stevie should return at least 18-20 goals with all the service directed towards him and only him.

Behind him is Gary Mackay-Steven. I don't usually keep any players who show no signs of growth and development, but Gary is special. This year, the goalscoring burden lies on other players, so he will probably be more of a creator in the final third.

Caolan Lavery now drops from a striker's role to wide left. He's a very good dribbler who can finish, and his natural right foot means he can cut in from the wing to create his own chances. Caolan scored twice in preseason, and I expect a further 10-12.

Tom Ince at wide right is going to be big for us this year. Jacques Maghoma and Chris Maguire offered too little last season, and Jack Stobbs was too raw. With a natural left foot and well-rounded attributes, Tom should be good for 10-12 goals.

Despite his work rates being perfect for sitting ahead of the back four, Fabian Delph's attributes point to a box-to-box player. With many of his ratings in the 80s and high 70s, he will be the man to create a seamless link between defence and attack.

When we paid £250,000 for Gael Bigirimana, neither we nor Newcastle had any idea what a bargain it was. Now rated 71 and valued at £1.9 million, Gael is going to be the man who dictates the tempo of the game by linking up with Mackay-Steven.

Liam Palmer continues in his role as the more defensive full back, while Jordan Obita offers a more forward-thinking approach on the left of the back four. This will offer a better balance than two M/M wide defenders, and both players can fill in elsewhere.

After attacking midfield, it's our centre back pairing that excites me most about this team. Josh Meekings showed us last season how important he is, while Rhys Williams adds the kind of presence and dominance that Tom Lees simply couldn't offer us.

For now, we maintain our faith in Keiren Westwood in goal. The veteran Irishman has been in fantastic form since losing his place at Sunderland, though it is not entirely certain that he will be with the club when September rolls around.

On the bench, we start with former Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Alex Smithies, who didn't play much for us in the first half of last season before spending the second half of it on loan at Watford. Alex will start our cup games and certain league matches.

The other players on the bench offer the talent to challenge for a starting berth and the versatility to play multiple roles. Declan John can play any wide position, and Sam Hutchinson can play in defence or holding midfield when we need some extra steel.

Ryan Leonard's versatility means he can perform at full back or in midfield, making him our utility player. Adrien Rabiot can play anywhere in midfield, though he is most likely to feature against teams compact in defence. Jamie Paterson can play across the four attacking positions, while Harry Kane can lead the line or support the striker.

In reserve, we have five players who will feature for us on a rotational basis when we deal with injury, suspension, and resting players. Ben Amos can do a job when he's asked to, and Connor Goldson is one for the future. Rhys McCabe is versatile, Mitchell Weiser has the talent to fight for a bigger role, and Dominic Solanke can finish well.

EDIT: I'm using limited player instructions. Both holding players have been set to 'stay back on attack', the striker is on 'stay central', and the central attacking mid has a 'free role'.

@Simppu That fee for Rulli was massive. Glad to see that you spent wisely on players like Radja and Marquinhos. You also brought in a couple of players from your team's country, which is always nice to see.

@Keano You're on fire with Hartlepool at the moment. Looks like that strike partnership is working really well for you. Long may the form continue!

@Moose Age was a big thing for me. A lot of the players I let go were getting towards their late 20s but showing no signs of growing as much as I needed them to, so it was for the best that we made the changes that we did. I'm glad I haven't overhauled the first team completely, but as I told Tex, depth is what hurt us last season. Delph is definitely in my starting lineup, which you can see in the post above.

@Rabbit The incredible run continues. Fifteen games played, 15 wins secured. The Alcorcon machine is in full force! You also look really well placed to advance to the knockout stages of the UCL, so I would say that your season is unfolding just the way you wanted to. THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE WORKED FOR!

@Chico Thanks, man. The big changes were necessitated by much of my squad not being up to par with PL standards. If funds had allowed it, I probably would have gone after players of a much higher calibre. I also plan on getting the academy running soon, so keep your eyes peeled! And yes, Mackay-Steven in the centre is going to pay rich dividends! As for Osasuna, what a rough couple of months! I would say the signing of Isma Lopez is going to be huge, but not having him until the summer might hurt you a bit. You made some good money off Loe, and with a top-half finish (which you should achieve), a healthy budget awaits. Albentosa has come good for you, and your form in Europe isn't bad at all. This season could yet yield some silverware.

EDIT: I just noticed that you're only four points off the Champions League spots. PUSH!

Thanks. However, Tubbs doesn't play for the team anymore. He is a Portsmouth striker now which sucks because I wanted to use him. Oh well. Shadow of Mordor was great, I have 95% completed it and it's so good I wanted to go get that other 5%

I haven't been writing much although kept up to date with the thread.

School has been busy at the moment but I have a long weekend so I can start a Career Mode that I hope will last for the rest of FIFA 15. The team I'm going to go as I have wanted too do for a while but haven't had the time (like I said) and I'm very excited to share it with you
