Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

I decided to make a short list of info and positive stuff that you can do here mainly for the newer guys:

    - Be yourself. Find an updating style that works well for you. If you have enough time, try adding little details like images, colours or other stuff like that to make the update more eye-catching.

    - It is your game and your career. Don't worry about upsetting other people by changing your team midway through the season. We all know that sometimes things just don't work out.

    - Don't be afraid to post off-topic stuff! If you have been following this thread for a few months you will know that we tend to chat about girlfriends, jobs, football, personal stuff, movies and so on. We might even have arguments but most of the time they are just for fun. Post whatever you want to.

    - Quoting posts. If you are quoting someone's short-ish post, don't make it a spoiler. Now, if you are quoting an update, make the post a spoiler starting from after the logo of the team. That's what all of us do. Quotes look nicer and are easier to read and go through that way.

    - Have fun! The most important thing in this thread is that you enjoy your stay!

Also, I'm not sure if I'll be doing a career with Real Madrid before jumping into the Hertha one. Depends on how I feel on Thursday after having an exam and before having another exam... *** **** exam week!

I have been following this thread since December 2014 and always wanted to join in. Now as FIFA 16 is around the corner and new folks like OkDoei are taking the plunge, I also plan to finally join in. What intrigues me most about this thread is how it discusses various aspects of football like transfers, club management, scouting, player growth and tactics - blending real life with FIFA as a game. Hats off to people like Indiblue,Simppu12,ChicoBass and all others to carry on this discussion through various career modes.

Now before I share my thoughts and plans on my career mode for FIFA 16, I will briefly introduce myself. I am from city of Kolkata,India - known for its association with culture, sweets, fish and of course- football. The city hosts the most heated derby in Indian football - East Bengal vs. Mohun Bagan.I am a consultant by profession, completed my MBA couple of years back and often travel abroad for work. My association with international football has been long since 1994 World Cup, but my first introduction to European football was the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Arsenal in 2004-05 season when Arsenal lifted the trophy. I started following Manchester United post that till the 2005-06 season's away match at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea thrashed Manchester United 3-0, with Joe Cole scoring the final cherry on top by beating three defenders (Rooney got his cursed metatarsal injury before World Cup 2006 in this very match only). After that day, I have been a Blue ever since. And my favourite manager- Jose Mourinho. It was during this period, when I started playing FIFA after being introduced to it by a friend. FIFA exposed me to international club football and its various teams. Now my favourite leisure work is football- be playing it on field or virtually, watching it, reading articles on various aspects of football or writing blogs on it.

Now for FIFA I have always followed a journey man manager career mode- not a dynasty mode as I want to look out for new challenges rather than getting stuck up with same project. This time also I plan to do the same. I plan to start with a league where I have never played before like Portugal or Holland and take it on from there where ever the opportunities come. I plan to use as managers, those players who played and retired in our times like Van Nistelroys and Nestas. I will soon share a voting link with you all to decide on who to start with. I will not be posting regular match updates, mostly because of time constraints- but when I do, I will do it in my style to cover as much info on matches as possible, but with a different flavour.

I guess its been a long post for a first one, so would stop now, before one starts losing the plot.

Look out for my voting link !!!

Till then, Let's Play Beautiful !!!

Welcome! It's great that new people are joining the thread and making it a nicer place full of different updates! It's good to hear that you have planned out your FIFA 16 career(s) already. Also, thanks for the mention, it means a lot!

One more thing: you should click your name on the upper right side of the site while using a computer. From there go to Edit Avatar -> Edit Signature (it's on the left) -> copy-paste the bit with Chelsea, East Bengal and Atletico de Kolkata and save. Now you have your signature that will always appear at the end of your posts automatically (like in this post right below this sentence).

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Guys, I have a question for the players on Next Gen. This will be my first Fifa on a Next Gen console.

Did any of you guys experience any lagg playing BPL matches with Fifa 15?

And did any of you experience any lagg playing the BPL match (Chelsea - City) with the Fifa 16 Demo?

It looks like my console has a bit of lagg because of all the fancy BPL license stuff, such as the special name bars and cut scenes with information.

I never experienced any lagg on my x360 with Fifa 15, so I hope that's not going to change on Next Gen.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Before I post the voting link, wanted to share some thoughts about how I play FIFA manager mode or played FIFA 15 career mode.

I played in FIFA 15 a single manager career mode only, going up to ten seasons. I started with Burnley (in professional difficulty) for 4 seasons, then moving to Monaco (World Class here onward) for 2 and half seasons before I was sacked. Then I joined Sevilla for one season (half and half seasons), where after another sack I moved to Parma for half a season to save them from relegation. Once after avoiding relegation I moved to Udinese for a season where again I got fired after a season due to under-performance. I was itching to get back to England by now and moved to Championship with West Brom. Here's where I continued and stopped playing FIFA 15 after FIFA 16 demo was out.

I mainly look to buy younger players or players I can develop and sell for higher price and look for good scouting team for the same. I have not tried my hand at youth academy this far, but am looking to try it out in this edition, with player training being available.

So looking at this, as I had stated in my earlier post, I look towards another journey man career mode, this time starting with the one which wins the vote.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Guys, Shrewsbury is on hold for now, I just got the itch to play in Serie A so I started one with Lazio. I think in this career mode I will become a journeyman like our newest member Blu likes to do. It likely won't be very detailed because of school and stuff. I'll probably not be getting '16 until Christmas where hopefully I will also move to next-gen.

I'd like to say welcome Blu too as I didn't get to say it. Interesting story you have, great to have you here!

Oh my, so many options to choose from

                  I'll choose a 442 formation.

                  GK: Courtois (94) (Rangers)

                  LB: Ricardo Rodriguez (89) (Rangers)
CB: Jones (91) / Djilobodji (86) (Both AC Milan)
                  CB: Papadopoulos (89) (Petersborough)
                  RB: Robertson (85) (AC Milan)

                  LM: Hazard (91) (Rangers)
                  CM: Pogba (91) / Elm (85) (Pogba = Petersborough, Elm = Palermo)
CM: Eriksen (91) / Mata (91) (Eriksen = Rangers, Mata = AC Milan)
                  RM: Bale (91) (AC Milan)

ST: Suarez (94) / Musa (90) (Suarez = AC Milan & Petersborough, Musa = Palermo)
                  ST: Benzia (90) / Martial (91) (Benzia = Petersborough, Martial = Rangers)

I made about 15 different career modes. Out of those 15 I played the longest on 4 of them. I reached at least to 2020 with those 4.

                  Palermo: Current season: 2020 - 2021
                  Rangers: Current season: 2025 - 2026
                  Petersborough: Current season: 2023 - 2024

Monster team, I only wish I could play one career long enough to get players with overalls like that. Hopefully I can with Lazio before 16.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Guys,I got my FIFA 16 pre-load activated yesterday and played for and hour or so. And yes of course, Career Mode guys !!!

FIFA 16 Career Mode - My First Impressions - The Beginning / Part 1

It feels good to see dedicated changes for the mode we all love. I started a test manager career with West Brom(in memoir of Baggies being my last team from FIFA 15) with 1st transfer window open. I received three invites to preseason tournaments - and accepted one of Champions Trophy from Netherlands. I am grouped with Ajax,Hull City and Levante in group stage. Other teams are like Montpellier,Atlanta,Sampdoria and Feyenoord. I have won the first two matches comfortably beating Ajax 2-0 and Hull City 3-0 till now.It really feels great with these pre-season tournaments as you get to play teams who you may never would have played other wise, missing out on experiencing different crowd cultures and stadiums.

The gameplay is amazing this time. I noticed that this is the 10th year, since I started playing FIFA and over the years the gameplay has shown gradual and drastic improvement. The things I noticed and liked till now about gameplay in this edition are - slow pace of game helping build up play as tiki taka or counter attack or long balls, all equally positively; crossing has been markedly been improved and melees and jostling during corners is more resulting in rebounds, deflections and more goals;midfield is more challenging mostly due to pinged passes and through balls coupled with more interceptions; defenders are throwing bodies on the line more effectively causing forwards trouble; and the sweet strike, if happens, really feels sweet. I scored two of these- first one a sweet one touch long distance strike from Rickie Lambert and the other a back volleyish drag shot from corner by Darren Fletcher (if SAF would have seen that shot, my bet is Darren would still be a Red Devil).

The GTN is looking familiar for what I have seen till now- one change being that in mails from scouts, they give special mention to three players found from area scouting from set instructions- these players being ones to look out for as per the scouts(includes both youngsters and established players). This is a nice touch- feels like more ownership from the scouts.

And last but not the least is much talked about player training. This is an excellent addition. Simply put, in a week you select 5 players, set each a drill based on improvements you seek from available set of drills for each position - you can take note of suggested drills also. Then you can go ahead and simulate all drills or chose to play yourself one or all drills. My bet is try a few drills once a while - in themselves they are awesome games with multiple players involved- feels like a real training session we see players involved in. Once you move to next week, you can set new drills for new players or chose to reload earlier session.

This player training along with preseason tournaments is a real boost and happy factors for career mode.

I will be trying more of it today and post further updates later.

So here's voting time guys !!!

I am listing down 8 options for you guys to vote- but personally am more inclined to start with options 1 OR 2 (which is where I hope the winner of this vote come from or else may use my veto power to override the voting results !!!)

I voted for Ballack and the Dutch guy because the Bundesliga rocks, it has new licenses and Werder are an interesting team. Feyenoord are also very interesting and the Eredivisie is an exotic league in this thread. They also have Dirk Kuyt and nice youngsters.

Jamie Nooooooo!!! Losing your laptop sucks a lot, just like losing you sucks. Hopefully you manage to get a new one for Christmas.

OkDoei's Arsenal FC Career Mode. Season 1.

Finally! News about Arsenal. Wenger stepped down a few days ago and became the club's financial manager. But, who will be Arsenal's new first team manager? Lets find out!

Arsenal confirmed the news at Twitter!

There we go. I'll name my 'Manager Account' David James. I like that name, and I usually try to give realistic and 'normal' names to my virtual manager

I'll release David's first press conference soon. Stay tuned!
