Welcome to the thread! I always turn off the first transfer window regardless of which team I'm using. I see it as unrealistic to keep it open. Also if I'm using a small club that I'm trying to build up, closing that first transfer window really gives me more than enough time to evaluate each position and see where I really need to spend. That and also you get to see if you have any hidden gems in the squad instead of replacing them in the window before giving them a chance. It's all a matter of preference though. Personally I like to struggle lol

          So pumped!!!

They are the default squads but, so you don't have the deadline day signings like Martial to Utd, De Bruyne to City, etc. Which for me, I like because Layun from Watford isn't on loan at Porto and I really want to use him at Watford.

Man, it looks like they went all out for Portsmouth in honor of that employee that passed away. According to Sofifa not only do they have the stadium scanned in, they also have their third kit and their actual goal keeper kit in the game.

The youth academy changes for FIFA 16 look amazing! They are minor tweaks but they add up a lot to the enjoyment. First off, scouts are much cheaper now and you can get a 5*/5* scout for about three million which is great for smaller teams. Secondly, now you see your youth academy players' overalls instead of guessing by what the game gives you (for example, 55-67 ovr). Then there are two bigger changes. The first one is that at least some of the players in the youth academy grow monthly by overall. The second change that is huge in my opinion is that you can train the players in the youth academy just like any other normal player. You can just focus on training a single youth academy player every week and boom - when you promote him he'll be amazing. Additionally, the May 1st glitch is gone

Cheers for the info. Only problem is that being able to sign world class scouts for so little is that it could mean almost any championship team could have an acadamy of world beaters which kind of takes a little realism out of it but I don't mind, I'm happy with these changes. Question can we finally scout in Wales.

EDIT: from some YouTube videos I've watched it looks like we won't be able to find the next Gareth Bale or the Welsh Xavi = Joe Allen

I'm not too sure I'm happy with cheaper scouts. I wonder if youth academy players will come in with lower overalls then to accommodate the price change

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

                          Hi All,

I have been following this thread since December 2014 and always wanted to join in. Now as FIFA 16 is around the corner and new folks like OkDoei are taking the plunge, I also plan to finally join in. What intrigues me most about this thread is how it discusses various aspects of football like transfers, club management, scouting, player growth and tactics - blending real life with FIFA as a game. Hats off to people like Indiblue,Simppu12,ChicoBass and all others to carry on this discussion through various career modes.

Now before I share my thoughts and plans on my career mode for FIFA 16, I will briefly introduce myself. I am from city of Kolkata,India - known for its association with culture, sweets, fish and of course- football. The city hosts the most heated derby in Indian football - East Bengal vs. Mohun Bagan.I am a consultant by profession, completed my MBA couple of years back and often travel abroad for work. My association with international football has been long since 1994 World Cup, but my first introduction to European football was the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Arsenal in 2004-05 season when Arsenal lifted the trophy. I started following Manchester United post that till the 2005-06 season's away match at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea thrashed Manchester United 3-0, with Joe Cole scoring the final cherry on top by beating three defenders (Rooney got his cursed metatarsal injury before World Cup 2006 in this very match only). After that day, I have been a Blue ever since. And my favourite manager- Jose Mourinho. It was during this period, when I started playing FIFA after being introduced to it by a friend. FIFA exposed me to international club football and its various teams. Now my favourite leisure work is football- be playing it on field or virtually, watching it, reading articles on various aspects of football or writing blogs on it.

Now for FIFA I have always followed a journey man manager career mode- not a dynasty mode as I want to look out for new challenges rather than getting stuck up with same project. This time also I plan to do the same. I plan to start with a league where I have never played before like Portugal or Holland and take it on from there where ever the opportunities come. I plan to use as managers, those players who played and retired in our times like Van Nistelroys and Nestas. I will soon share a voting link with you all to decide on who to start with. I will not be posting regular match updates, mostly because of time constraints- but when I do, I will do it in my style to cover as much info on matches as possible, but with a different flavour.

I guess its been a long post for a first one, so would stop now, before one starts losing the plot.

Look out for my voting link !!!

Till then, Let's Play Beautiful !!!

It looks like the youth academy is finally fixed. No May update, but the players grow each month as you go along. It looks like they will be starting with decent physicals, and they will actually grow after coming out too. These are huge changes for players who like to do road to glory type careers with the lower league sides. I know that it will make some big differences for me and it makes me even more excited about this year.
