Leeds is exactly the club I had in mind if I ended up going down that road, but to be perfectly honest, I'm leaning a wee bit towards another go at Newcastle United. Though now that I consider it, I could adopt a similar approach with Leeds if I ended up going with them. I'm going to have a look through their squad and get going in another hour or so. First post up soon!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Keano Tough month with only the one win. Leipzig and Karlsruher are in striking distance, but your lead at the top of the league is still solid. Hopefully you can find some good form in the final stretch of the season.
vrabbit It's awesome you're in Australia. Back when Fox Soccer Channel was around, I used to watch the A-League games. I miss that. Not a great start, but like you said, the club needs major work, and I think you'll get there. It just takes some time.
Simppu Baumjohann with 14 goals as a substitute is great production, and of course Kalou with 27 is strong as usual. Sane should develop into a beast for you. The squad is getting up there in age somewhat, so I'll be interested to see how you continue to retool the club.
tex Love the choice of Sheffield United because that badge is sick. Glad to see you in England as the setup on FIFA with all 4 levels really makes it an involved process. It makes me want to play there more. Good luck!
Also, I should have updates for Ural and Mallorca later today. It's been a busy week, but I have gotten some matches in.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Season 1 | 2015-16
April
Match 28
Kaiserslautern 3-1 SC Paderborn
Mockenhaupt 25'
Lorenzen 55'
Klich 77'
Bakalorz 90'
MOTM: Melvyn Lorenzen (8.0)
Mockenhaupt headed in a corner for a half time lead, which Lorenzen doubled after playing a one-two with Čolak. The 21 year old turned provider for Klich, allowing the Pole to extend our advantage. Paderborn got one back after a terrific free kick routine, the ball banging in off the post.
Sascha Mockenhaupt Sprained Ankle 4 weeks
Match 29
1860 München 0-1 Kaiserslautern
Lorenzen 33'
MOTM: Markus Karl (7.5)
Lorenzen again was the difference, holding off the defender to latch onto Jenssen's through ball and score past Elcher.
Mateusz Klich Bruised Shoulder 5 days
Match 30
Kaiserslautern 0-2 Union Berlin
Nikci 13' s/o
Brandy 64'
Brandy 76'
MOTM: Daniel Haas (8.2, UN, 8 saves)
Unbelievably after being a man up for 80 minutes we lost this one 2-0 courtesy of two Brandy goals. The first came in the form of a beautiful curling shot from the edge of the box. A second was added 10 minutes later on a counter attack and Brandy smashed past Muller. Haas played a blinder in between the sticks for Berlin while Brandy scored with his side's only two shots.
Match 31
FSV Frankfurt 0-0 Kaiserslautern
MOTM: Denis Epstein (7.6)
A real frustrating draw. Heubach hit the crossbar with a dipping header off a corner and Gaudino struck the post with a finesse shot. The latter then won a penalty in the dying seconds. You would have banked on Lorenzen to tuck it away but unfortunately the striker skied it high and wide.
Chris Löwe Sprained Ankle 4 weeks
Match 32
Kaiserslautern 1-1 SV Sandhausen
Klich 60'
Bouhaddouz 63'
MOTM: Jean Zimmer (7.9)
Mateusz Klich headed in Jenssen's corner on the hour mark to put us ahead briefly. Bouhaddouz equalized mere minutes later with a great dipping half volley from 20 yards. The draw however crowned us as the 2015-16 2. Bundesliga champions following RB Leipzig's 2-2 draw with Duisburg.
May
Markus Karl Pulled Quad 3 weeks
Match 33
Kaiserslautern 1-0 F. Düsseldorf
Čolak 49' (Pen)
MOTM: Marius Müller (7.5, 6 saves)
After Lorenzen was tackled late inside the area, Antonio-Mirko Čolak stepped up to score his 11th league goal.
Match 34
Greuther Fürth 1-2 Kaiserslautern
Lorenzen 13'
Lorenzen 77'
Kumbela 82'
MOTM: Melvyn Lorenzen (8.1)
We finished off the season with a solid win thanks to a Lorenzen brace. The first came off a devastating counter attack where Lorenzen showcased his electric pace. A second came with 13 minutes remaining. Ziegler won the ball in the middle of the park before splitting the defence with a through ball into Lorenzen's path. The youngster made no mistake and finished the game off. Greuther would get a goal back through Kumbela after a defensive mix up but ultimately they weren't able to equalize.
Spoiler
So there you have it, the first season at the helm of the mighty Red Devils Kaiserslautern is over and we won the title by an impressive 11 points, having both the best defence and attack in the league. Next season will prove a massive test to stay in the division with limited funds to sign new players and resign current ones. (Leading assister Jenssen had to be let go due to a lack of funds to renew his contract.) Problems will arise with contracts again this summer with Alexander Ring demanding €45k up from €20k. The entire starting wage budget is €20k. Decisions will have to be made and tough ones at that.
Transfer Budget: €4 million
Wage Budget: €20k
Next up will be Euro 2016 with Austria, a Season recap and Squad Report along with a preseason update for Bristol Rovers. Thanks for Reading!Comment

Centre-backs: Janoi Donacien* (63 OVR), Matt Taylor (62 OVR), Andrew Hughes (58 OVR), Matt Partridge (56 OVR).
Midfielders/Wingers: Gary Gardner ** (65 OVR), Mark Byrne (60 OVR), Medy Elito (60 OVR), Alex Rodman (59 OVR), Yan Klukowski (57 OVR), Tommy O'Sullivan* (56 OVR), Tom Owen-Evans (50 OVR), Dafydd Jones (46 OVR), Corey Shephard (44 OVR).
Strikers: Manuel Arteaga** (62 OVR), Lenell John-Lewis (60 OVR), Scott Boden (58 OVR), Aaron Collins (52 OVR).
Starting XI
European Continental Shield
Group Match 1
Newport County - St. Pats (0-2)
Spoilerforgot the stats! Not the greatest debut of course, even if just pre-season. It was a fair result.
Group Match 2
De Graafschap - Newport County (1-2)
Quekel 34'
John-Lewis 50' (pen)
John-Lewis 64' (pen)
Good thing this is just pre-season because this game had a lot of controversy, must of it centered around the second PK call in favor of Newport which came on this play
Spoiler
John-Lewis put Marccelino's team ahead for good and there was plenty of heat towards the referee thereafter and once the game had finished.
Group Match 3
Newport County - Bray Wanderers (4-0)
Klukowski 35'
Elito 45'
Collins 84'
McNally 89' (OG)
[insert fire emojis]Even though Newport has one of the lowest-rated rosters in League Two their Irish opponent on this day actually boasts lesser talent on their roster, and that much was evident on this beat down that clinched Newport's ticket to the semifinals. Elito firmly believed he should have gotten credit for the team's last goal, claiming his shot was on target before it hit McNally, but the referee didn't budge on his call.
Semi-final
Heracles Almelo - Newport County (0-0, 5-3 PK's)
Newport's run this pre-season comes to an end on a tough defeat from the penalty strike, where John-Lewis missed the team's very first shot and the team was unable to recover from that as the Dutch club nailed every one of their shots.
Games next month:
* 8/8/15 vs Northampton
* 8/11/15 at Bury (COC)
* 8/15/15 at Notts County
* 8/22/15 vs Yeovil Town
* 8/29/15 at Dagenham
Review: Very excited to have one of these CM's back in action. Newport's rosters presents a lot of challenges and I'm trying to make the most of the €625K transfer budget and €3K wage budget. So 1st, I'm either selling or loaning anybody rated in the 40's or low 50's. I do like the striker Collins as he has solid potential but if he gets a loan offer I'll probably accept it. And speaking of loans, I need to make use of them to help this team to where I want them to. That's why Marccelino, coming from Palermo, reached an agreement with his old club on a 2-year loan for Manuel Arteaga whom the Italian club had just signed from the Venezuelan League. It's a win-win scenario where Newport will allow Arteaga to develop while he hopefully helps the club achieve promotion. Palermo wouldn't agree to a future fee.
A loan deal for Oliver Burke from Nottingham Forest is also in the works. That would put 5 loaned players on our roster to go with the 3 already there before the new coach's arrival (Donacien, Barnum-Bobb, O'Sullivan). The price acquisition is 23-year old Gary Gardner from Aston Villa for €700K. Gardner was transfer listed and Newport badly needed an upgrade at CDM so Gardner immediately steps into that role while a move to CAM in the future is certainly not out of the question. Gardner will also handle all set plays for Newport. Finally, Marccelino has hired an English scout, Adam Adeyemi (3* EXP, 2* JUD), to his youth staff and he has quickly been sent to scout in England for 3 months. The plan is to then sent him on scouting trips to Wales and Italy.
Here we go!Previous Update ^^^
Newport County A.F.C.
August/September Update
League Match 1
Newport County - Northampton (3-0)
Byrne 12'
Arteaga 29' (pen)
Boden 81' (Gardner)
You couldn't ask for a better start to the season, especially at home. A big error by the Northampton back four lead to Byrne's opening score and then one third of the way through the game Arteaga converted from the penalty strike. Newport was able to play possession from there on out then put the final nail on the coffin on a counterattack.
Capital One Cup - Round 1
Bury - Newport County (0-0, 4-2 PK's)
The visitors played their League 1 opponent very evenly, defending very well throughout the game, but they were unable to convert the few shots they had and then repeated their PK effort from pre-season to bow out of the cup in disappointment.
League Match 2
Notts County - Newport County (1-2)
John-Lewis 30' (Byrne)
Campbell 47'
John Lewis 82' (Byrne)
Marccelino's squad proves their opening day win was no fluke by keeping the home team relatively quiet on the score sheet. Campbell was a pest all game long but also erratic and although Notts had twice as many shots as Newport only half of them were on target while Newport Roy Carroll work with every one of their shots while also winning possession with 56%.
League Match 3
Newport County - Yeovil Town (0-1)
Laird 54'
Newport suffers their first loss of the season in a tightly-contested battle against a stingy Yeovil squad that made shooting at their goal difficult. Newport was only able to get 2 shots off, neither one of them on target, while Yeovil was on target with 3 of their 4 shots and more importantly scored the only goal of the game to escape with the 3 points.
League Match 4
Dagenham - Newport County (1-0)
Boucaud 23'
What's worse than a 0-1 loss? Two of them in a row. Newport's offense was once again errant, this time getting 6 shots off but only being on target once. Dagenham was 3/5 on their shots and were able to convert early in the game then hang on to their lead to continue a good start for them early in this season.
J. Paint Trophy
Newport County - Peterborough (1-2)
Washington 10'
Gardner 51' (Byrne)
Washington 58'
Newport was not in good form coming into this game and Peterborough all but sealed the deal when they scored the go-ahead goal just 7 minutes after Newport had scored for the first time in two and a half games. Newport held possession 52% of the time but only had half as many shots (and shots on goal) as Peterborough and they leave a tournament early for the second time this season. "It's disappointing to suffer two really tough defeats in tournaments so far," Marccelino said. "These tournaments are actually a big priority for us so we can improve our budget so we will definitely look to do better in the F.A. Cup."
League Match 5
Newport County - Exeter City (1-0)
Arteaga 74' (pen)
Newport bounced back from three rough games to get back on the winning column with a very solid performance against Exeter, even if their only goal came from the penalty strike. It could had been at least 2-0 but Christy Pym saved a penalty shot from Gardner earlier in the game.
League Match 6
Cambridge United - Newport County (3-0)
Corr 10'
Core 43'
Berry 45'
Newport's first game with their B squad did not end up well as the home team got on the board early and held a comfortable lead at halftime that Marccelino's B squad was not able to cut into. It'll be interesting to see how Marcelino handles his starting lineup the next time the team is scheduled to play 2 games in 3 days.
League Match 7
Newport County - York City (0-1)
Summer field 54'
Disappointment was the end result yet again in another game where Newport was unable to get much going offensively. Not much else to say here.
League Match 8
Wycombe - Newport County (2-3)
Byrne 44' (Arteaga)
Gardner 45+' (pen)
McGinn 57'
Hayes 69'
Arteaga 72' (O'Sullivan)
Could this be a turning point for Marccelino's squad? After jumping out to a 2-0 lead at the end of the first half Wycombe was able to even up the score with 20 minutes left and bad thoughts surely were taking over on Newport's side. But the Exiles got back on the horse right away and O'Sullivan found a streaking Arteaga for what would be the game-winner and 3 very needed points.
League Match 9
Newport County - Barnet (1-0)
Arteaga 20' (Gardner)
Byrne - sprained knee, out 3 weeks
Newport closed out the month with another key victory in a game that was closer than they had planned. Gardner's free kick from the right upper corner of the box found Arteaga between two defenders but the Venezuelan rose higher than the defenders and accurately headed the ball home for what would turn out to be the only score of the game. However, a small loss was suffered when Byrne suffered a knee injury in the 12th minute although he managed to finish the first half.

Review: Not bad. You would love to turn some of the L's into at least draws but it's been a fair shake for the most part. Gardner has been everything you could wish for taking total command of the midfield while the focus is shining mostly on our forwards. John-Lewis has been a ghost outside of his 2-goal game and Arteaga has also struggled to start the season although 2 goals in his last 2 games is a very good sign. We're playing solid defense for the most part but we need the offense to score some more for us. O'Sullivan will sub in for Byrne due to injury but we need to find a new backup CM since O'Sullivan is on short loan. Oliver Burke was also obtained from Nottingham Forest on a 2-year loan.
Adam Adeyemi, our youth scout in England, sent us his first monthly report and as a result two additions have been signed to the youth squad:
- Bondz Moore (LW, 53 OVR, 78-94 POT): This 16-year old was so well spoken of in Adeyemi's report that his small size (5'0", 134lbs) was no issue. He is speedy and has been performing well in drills so far.
- Jack Giles (RW, 57, 65-85): This 17-year old is working hard to earn an opportunity to be called up to the senior squad before the end of the season.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
FIFA 16 - Season 1
The Blades
August
Sheffield United 0 - 0 Coventry City
MOTM: Charles-Cook
Match Summary: Sheffield United unveiled their new style under new manager James Beattie, and it fell flat. They dominated the match, but their ineffectiveness in front of goals saw several chances squandered that should have been in the back of the net.
Capital One Cup
Sheffield United (4) 0 - 0 (2) Ipwsich Town
MOTM: Gerken
Match Summary: In the second match of the year it looked to be more of the same with several missed chances. 10 registered shots on goal, but no goals. Once it went to penalties though the players were on target. All four shooters put the ball into the net while Ipswich saw their third shooter sky it over the bar and the deciding 4th attempt was saved well by Howard on a dive to his left.
Blackpool 2 - 1 Sheffield United
BLP - Paterson 4', Little 47'
SHU - Sammon 59'
MOTM: Doyle
Match Summary: Another poor performance from the Blades as two crucial mistakes by the defense put United in a hole that was too deep to climb out of. Sammon ended up registering the first goal of the season for the club, but it didn't mean much in the end.
Sheffield United 1 - 1 Port Vale
SHU - Freeman 17'
PVL - Moore 42'
MOTM: Freeman
Match Summary: After a great individual effort by the right back resulted in a lead for the first time this year, the other side of the defense got caught with a 2 on 1 that led to an easy finish to continue to struggles for the new manager.
Capital One Cup
Middlesbrough 2 - 0 Sheffield United
MID - Stuani 34', Downing 44'
MOTM: Mejias
Match Summary: Once again United goes scoreless and this time suffers a loss at the hands of Middlesbrough. The players seem completely uninspired and many are starting to wonder if they are willing to play for the new manager.
S****horpe United 0 - 0 Sheffield United
MOTM: Anyon
Match Summary: The chances are improving and while the team looks to be playing well, they still just can't seem to finish. The chances should eventually lead to goals though and once they get it going the season could really take off.
September
J. Paint Trophy
Sheffield United 3 - 2 Swindon Town
SHU - Scougall', Harris 62', Woolford 90'
SWI - Gladwin 53', Robert 60'
MOTM: Scougall
Match Summary: Rumors were circulating that after a poor first month, Beattie called a meeting with the entire squad to address the early struggles. It looks like whatever was said made a difference. Sheffield came out firing and put three goals past the keeper in their best performance of the season.
Sheffield United 2 - 0 Gillingham FC
SHU - Campbell-Ryce 26' (PEN), 43' (PEN)
MOTM: Campbell-Ryce
Match Summary: A pair of penalties put away by Campbell-Ryce gave Sheffield United their first win in league play for the season. The team is beginning to look at lot more inspired out on the pitch.
Crewe Alexandra 1 - 3 Sheffield United
CRE - Murdoch 89'
SHU - Campbell-Ryce 41' (PEN), 45' (PEN), Woolford 83'
MOTM: Campbell-Ryce
Match Summary: Campbell-Ryce added another double for the second straight game and Sheffield United is starting to get on a roll with their second straight win to move them up to 7th in the table.
Sheffield United 2 - 1 Colchester
SHU - Campbell-Ryce 32' (PEN), Cuvelier 53'
COL - Porter 45'
MOTM: Long
Match Summary: The rise continues with another impressive performance. This time the deciding factor was a stunning free kick from midfielder Cuvelier. The goal was enough to separate the two sides in what was otherwise a very evenly played match.
Wigan Athletic 0 - 0 Sheffield United
MOTM: Jacobs
Match Summary: Neither team separated itself from the other and few chances were registered for each side. The scoreline at the end was very much representative of how the match went.
Sheffield United 1 - 0 Wallsall
SHU - Baxter 47'
MOTM: Woolford
Match Summary: The Blade's blitzing style of offense continued and this time they walked away with a win after Baxter turned his defender and fired across the goal. A red card in the second half all but ruined any chance of a come back for Wallsall and Adams almost capped off the win but his shot deflected off the post.

Mallorca Player of the Month
LM Gai Assulin, 66 Ovr, 24 years old, Israel
RCD Mallorca had a stunning September winning all 6 of their matches with a goal differential of 15-1. Leading the charge was 24-year-old Israeli midfielder Gai Assulin who had 4 goals on the month. After spending time at both Barcelona and Manchester City, Assulin looks to be coming into his own for manager Pepe Gálvez. Assulin netted a brace in a Man of the Match performance against Albacete and also scored against Valladolid and Leganés. Thanks in part to Assulin's efforts, Mallorca now sit atop Liga Adelante.

Manager's Thoughts
What an amazing run of form we are in! We only conceded one goal in September and now sit first in the Liga Adelante table. Needless to say, I'm absolutely thrilled with these results. The squad has really pulled together and everyone is contributing. I don't know how long we can ride this momentum, but the more points we can rack up, the better our chances of being promoted to Liga BBVA. We just have to stay focused and not get too content or overconfident. At this point, anything less than going up would be a disappointment.
October 2015 - Schedule
10/3 - at Tenerife
10/10 - vs Osasuna
10/17 - at Oviedo
10/21 - vs Almería*
10/24 - vs Córdoba
10/28 - at Lugo
10/31 - vs Elche
*Copa del Rey - 1st Round
The month of October starts off with some massive match ups as we travel to the Canary Islands to take on 2nd place Tenerife. This showdown will not be easy, but with the form we're in, I'm confident of getting some result. Another away game against 4th place Oviedo is 2 weeks later, then we get Almería in the Copa del Rey. Almería is the only team to hold us to a draw this season, so we known the quality of their club. Wrapping up the month, we face Córdoba and Elche, who were both in Liga BBVA last season. It's hard to put a projected point total for October as we face a grueling series of tests, but my hope is that we're still in 1st when the month concludes.

CENTRAL COAST MARINERS F.C.
October/November Update
League Match 1
Brisbane Roar - CCM (2-1)
Heffernan 9' (Rose)
Broich 56'
Maclaren 68'
Montgomery
Pre-season was no fluke and although CCM got off to an early lead they were unable to pile it on or hang on and ended up with a defeat even though they won TOP and had more shots than the home team.
League Match 2
CCM - Wellington Phoenix (2-0)
Fitzgerald 64' (Gonzalez)
Heffernan 90+' (Trifiro)
Del Barco was elated following his 1st win as a professional HC, praising the whole squad for an outstanding collective effort. "This is what we've worked for an I'm very happy for all the players and coaches that we were able to get a victory in our pockets early on in the season," he said. "There is still a lot of work to be done so we need to keep our focus and continue to improve as a team."
League Match 3
Newcastle Jets - CCM (3-0)
Poljak 54'
Trifunovic 76'
Izzo 80' (OG)
And just like that the momentum from that win was gone after a rough defeat at Forest Park. Both teams had 5 shots, 4 on goal, but Mark Birighitti was a grown man in this game and CCM's defense was often confused in their assignments.
League Match 4
CCM - Adelaide United (2-2)
Wilkinson 10' (OG)
Fitzgerald 15' (Gonzalez)
Malik 24' (OG)
Djite 27'
Heffernan
A game with the most bizarre first 30 minutes you may ever see. Each own goal was freaky and the roller coaster stalled in the following 60 minutes as the teams finally settled in and played much better defense.
League Match 5
Perth Glory - CCM (2-1)
Harold 13'
O'Donovan 27' (Montgomery)
Castro 64' (pen)
Poscoliero
Tough, tough loss for CCM who continue to fail to gain any points on the road. Harold was hot coming off a hat trick in his previous game and he quickly put the home team ahead but O'Donovan was due after a good pre-season and he finally got on the board for CCM. But a questionable call(read: good call) at the top of the box earned the home team a penalty kick that Castro swiftly put through to give his squad the 3 points.
League Match 6
CCM - Melbourne City (0-1)
J. Trifiro 40'
O'Donovan 90'
CCM failed to gain points at home for the first time this season but after the game the focus was on O'Donovan's red card, resulting from a hard foul from behind near midfield. "Total frustration foul," coach Del Barco said. "I understand his frustration since he had a couple of good scoring chances but couldn't convert and we were the better team on the pitch, but he can't do that to his teammates. We'll work hard to replace him in this next game and we'll talk about avoiding things like this going forward.

Review: not good. Ok, that may be a bit harsh as this is a 1-star team but I expected a bit better. On the bright side it's still very early and anywhere from 6th place up would be an outstanding finish for us but there needs to be a lot of improvement obviously. I'm tweaking some things with players' roles and I'm hoping that will lead to better performances. It took me a while to find a worthy youth scout but I finally hired Liam McGarry (2* EXP, 3* JUD) from New Zealand and asked him to scout Australia right away so hopefully there will be some updates on the youth squad the next time. Guys have been performing well in training and I'm trying to give some extra sessions to a couple of youngsters in the midfield (Kalik/Rose) since they have a bright future. Stella has also been training hard and he'll replace O'Donovan (suspension) in the next game.
Starting XI
The Roster
Goalkeepers: Paul Izzo (58 OVR), Tom Heward-Belle (51 OVR), Alastair Bray (51 OVR), Adam Pearce (51 OVR).
Fullbacks: Josh Rose (64 OVR), Storm Roux (64 OVR), Michael Neill (59 OVR).
Centre-backs: Alex Wilkinson* (69 OVR), Jacob Poscoliero (62 OVR), Tomislav Uskok (56 OVR), Jake McGing (56 OVR), Harry Ascroft (55 OVR).
Midfielders/Wingers: Cesar Gonzalez* (66 OVR), Fabio Ferreira (65 OVR), Anthony Caceres (65 OVR), Nicholas Fitzgerald (63 OVR), Nick Montgomery (63 OVR), Glen Trifiro (61 OVR), Mitch Austin (57 OVR), Anthony Kalik (58 OVR), Liam Rose (57 OVR), Matt Sim (56 OVR).
Strikers: Roy O'Donovan (62 OVR), Francesco Stella (59 OVR), Daniel Heffernan (59 OVR), Josh Bingham (53 OVR), Trent Buhagiar (53 OVR).
That's all for now

CENTRAL COAST MARINERS F.C.
December/January Update
League Match 7
WS Wanderers - CCM (2-2)
Dimas 56'
Poscoliero 73' (Fitzgerald)
Andreu 81'
Stella 88'
Ferreira - sprained ankle, out 4 weeks
Very evenly matched game that was entertaining even during the first 55 minutes. After Dimas put the home team ahead CCM never stopped looking for the equalizer and finally earned it on Poscoliero's gorgeous header off a Fitzgerald corner kick. The excitement was short lived when Andreu hit a stunner from the top of the box but then the kid Stella, playing in place of the suspended O'Donovan, hustled to a loose ball to put it at the back of the net and give CCM a thrilling draw. Ferreira's injury will hurt and the youngster Mitch Austin will step in for him, playing at LM and moving Fitzgerald to RM.
League Match 8
CCM - Sydney FC (1-2)
Fitzgerald 32' (O'Donovan)
Dimitrijevic 48'
Tavares 78'
Tough loss for CCM in a game where the were in a good groove offensively that didn't turn into a lot of goals. All 7 of their shots where on goal but Janjetovic had a monster game for the visitors included 2 key saves near the end.
League Match 9
Melb. Victory - CCM (0-4)
Gonzalez 32' (Montgomery)
Heffernan 38'
Heffernan 40'
Austin 42' (Gonzalez)
The anger bang. This one was due to come sooner or later but nobody expected it to come on the road against one of the league leaders. Montgomery fed Gonzalez outside the box and the Venezuelan hit a screamer from there to open up the scoring. Heffernan then put his stamp in the game with 2 goals in 3 minutes, both unassisted, and Victory was a mess shortly after putting the ball up in a scramble that was won by Gonzalez who calmly served Austin with a pass that was 75% goal. The 2nd half was mostly CCM managing the score against a desperate Victory.
League Match 10
Well. Phoenix - CCM (3-2)
Bonevacia 6'
Gonzalez 26' (Roux)
Powell 35'
Riera 42'
O'Donovan 77' (Gonzalez)
Go figure. After the dominant performance in the previous week CCM was unable to continue to turn the corner and Phoenix avenged their loss to CCM earlier in the season. CCM won the possession battle and more shots and shots on goal than the home team but in the end Phoenix was more efficient.
BREAKING NEWS
Spoiler
Brisbane Roar offer head coaching position to Del Barco
2016 has started with a shocker as multiple reports state the Brisbane Roar has reached out to Diego Del Barco, Central Coast's head coach, to fill the same position. Roar is reportedly very unsatisfied with John Aloisi's work this season and is looking to replace the legendary Aussie player-turned-coach for the up and coming Del Barco. Sources indicate that although CCM currently sits near the bottom of the table and have been outside a playoff spot for most of the season, Del Barco's work with the team and the squad's noticeable improvement is something that has been noticed by local and outside clubs.
Sources surrounding Del Barco indicate the Venezuelan is unlikely to accept the offer, citing a certain level of loyalty to CCM. "I can't see him leaving CCM to go to another A-League club," the source said.
League Match 11
CCM - Brisbane Roar (3-2)
Gonzalez 17' (Ferreira)
McKay 21'
Fitzgerald 52' (Montgomery)
Heffernan 72' (Trifiro)
Petratos 90+'
The timing of this match-up could not have been more perfect and there was certainly a buzz in Central Coast Stadium with more local press than usual. As Aloisi's luck would have it, his team was defeated by the team managed by the guy Roar wants to replace him. CCM won handedly, firing 10 shots and being on target with 9 of them.
League Match 12
Adelaide United - CCM (1-1)
Heffernan 15' (Gonzalez)
Djite 45'
CCM continues to miss opportunities. They were clearly the better team on the pitch today but were only able to come away with one goal (note: Heffernan is ON FIRE) and unfortunately for them Adelaide was also able to score once on their 2 shots on goal to steal a point.
