Thanks for following along Simppu12, on of the greatest saves on the line from a CB i have ever seen!...was disappointing no too get the win against Bournemouth, but a draw is better than a loss!, and Manchester United were ruthless in there attack on our defence!, 23 shots too out 7!...I'm doing my best to revive Aston Villa, and hopefully hang on, in the Premier League!

A couple other bits of information about Townsend that will only make you love him more. He came out with "great potential" and here's the really exciting part, he has 5 star skills!

Huge shame about your decision to take a break from updating, especially since you just started the career with Betis. I would try to find a suitable style but I understand if you decide to take a break. Hopefully you will return soon!

Aquaman - A draw against Bournemouth isn't the best possible start to the season but that clearance from Clark was simply amazing! The Man United draw was a very good result considering they took over 20 shots. It will be interesting to see how the season continues.

Moose - That Newcastle loss sucks a lot with you having the majority of chances. Good win against Stoke with a beautiful goal from Dybala! The team is looking very solid and you could push for a Champions League spot. In the earlier episode you managed to pull off a great win against Chelsea. It seems that the smaller teams are causing you more trouble but that is also the case with me at Hertha.

Rabbit - Oh no, you were so close! Everything was going so well and then you lost in the playoff final. That sucks, man. Like you pointed out the whole squad had a good season and I think with a couple of good signings you should be able to gain automatic promotion easily next season. Also, Bondz Moore is looking very solid in the academy. I'm looking forward to next season!

Keano - All of your signings are very good but personally I think Jeffrey Bruma was the best one, simply because of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkCGThv96Io. If that video ruined him in your eyes, I apologise. Anyway, Afobe could also become a big striker with you and he could form a deadly partnership with Iheanacho in the nearby future. You got off to a solid start in the league after a Community Shield loss against a good side. Then your form went up and down but the Man United draw is a good way to end your first month in the Premier League. Eighth in the table is also very good.

SMH - That game against Athletic was unbelievable! Amazing job to get back into the game and get the win at the end after going 3-1 down! The cup game against Malaga, together with the Athletic game, will probably be the highlight of the season so far since no-one can stop you in the league. I think you can remain unbeaten in the league this season.

I'll try that for my next update Simp. I'll do one more update and if this one doesn't pan out then I'm gonna take a break from updating for a few weeks.

Guys, it appears that Cabee has returned to the thread! Speaking of returning, we are still waiting for Chico and Jamie and Cruzerr to return. Additionally, Indi is hiding somewhere.

No, that's not all. I'd also like to remind you that I need your help in my Hertha career and I will appreciate your effort very much. Please, leave a vote in both polls. Again, thanks in advance!

Love shorter videos as they allow me to sneak in enough time to watch. Nice Ceballos storyline going on. Tough unexpected loss at home vs Newcastle but it was good to see you bounce back in the next game.

made some time to watch this too, a lot to comment on.

Nice B-squad W in the COC even if you had a scare there at the end of regulation and had to pull it off in ET. That was sweet. Unfortunately that was followed by a very frustrating game at home vs Sunderland that had a bit of bad luck to go with a bizarre effort from your keep there on that 2nd goal for Sunderland. Nothing went your way on that one. But those kinds of games happen and you have to be able to leave them behind and pick yourself up and you did that with a lot of work in the next game at Leicester, a deserved result and Sinclair was disruptive from what I saw. Nice scout hire for your academy as well! It's still early in the season and from what I saw in those games you will end up much higher than where you currently are

                        Newport County A.F.C.

                        Roster Review

It was truly a roller coaster year in Giovanni Marccelino's first season at Newport. The team got off to a good start in League Two but was never quite able to rise to the top of the league and it keep moving in and out of direct promotion. In the end, it failed to achieve the move to League One and suffered the one-and-done experience in the Capital One Cup and J. Paint Trophy, although a nice run was made in the F.A. Cup reaching the Round of 32. Nonetheless, let's see how the players on the roster performed in '15-'16.

                        Starting XI

GK - Joe Day (63 OVR) - 56 appearances, 15 clean sheets: The 25-year old Englishman had an outstanding season for the Exiles, especially in the second half of the season. Only two other goalies in League Two had more clean sheets than his 15 and he was named to the team of the season. 8.5/10

RB - Danny Holmes (64 OVR)
                        - 53 apps: The 27-year old fullback from England started all season on the right side and did a good job. Scoring isn't a high expectation for Marccelino's fullbacks but Holmes also failed to record an assist to go with a goalless season, and to make matters worse he failed to show the stamina to play a full game. He's a prime candidate to have his role reduced. 7/10

RCB - Janoi Donacien (66 OVR)
: The loan deal for the 22-year old from St. Lucia ended prior to the playoffs and you have to wonder whether that had an impact on the team, although Taylor Moore filled in well thereafter. Moore's acquisition in the winter was made, in part, to the upcoming departure of Donacien so it's unlikely he'll return to the club. 7/10

LCB - Matt Taylor (63 OVR)
                        - 53 apps: The 34-year old from England was the team's captain this season and performed well as a leader as the Exiles' back-four line helped the team give up the third least goals in league play. He might not be around for much longer but barring any surprise acquisitions he should be back as a starter for Marccelino next season. 7.5/10

LB - Seth Nana Twumasi (63 OVR)
                        - 54 apps, 1 goal, 5 assists: The 26-year old Englishman was arguably the best player in the Exiles' back-four, contributing from box to box. He's locked in as a starter for next season. 7.5/10

CDM - Gary Gardner (70 OVR)
                        - 55 apps, 10 goals, 11 assists: The 23-year old from England, the prize acquisition by the team last summer, was everything the team was hoping for and more. He combined tenacious play on the defensive side with a very good skill set on offense and handled all set plays, so it should come as no surprise he was named team MVP. And how could he not be? After all he was also named Player of the Year in League Two to go with a spot on the team of the season. The Exiles look forward to repeat (and improved?) performances. 10/10

RM - Oliver Burke (64 OVR)
                        - 48 apps, 7 assists: This 19-year old Scottish on loan from Nottingham Forest did exactly what the team needed him to do - create havoc on the right wing. His shooting skills need work but his good performances were consistent and The Exiles look forward to the second year of his loan deal at the club. 7.5/10

LM - Medy Elito (61 OVR)
                        - 52 apps, 4 goals, 6 assists: The 26-year old Englishman was a reliable force on the left side of the midfield where his 4-star weak foot allows him to be effective. He can be a scoring threat when he cuts into the box from the wing and should be back as a starter next season. 8/10

CAM - Mark Byrne (63 OVR)
                        - 52 apps, 12 goals, 15 assists: The 27 year old from Ireland isn't flash but he was very effective in this role in which he grew more comfortable as the season went on. He was a force to reckon with in the playoffs, scoring 3 goals in 3 games, and his 10 assists in league play tied Gardner for third most. While he's close to his ceiling, the club doesn't have a true replacement for him at the moment so he's bound to come back as a starter next season to hopefully build on what he did this season. 8.5/10

RS - Manuel Arteaga (66 OVR)
                        - 53 apps, 24 goals, 5 assists: The 22-year old Venezuelan proved Marccelino's eye for young talent is bright, and after taking some time to get used to England the loaner from Palermo finished as the best scorer in the league with 21 goals. He's on a two-year loan so he's locked as a starter for next season but if he's able to repeat this level of performance, will the club be able to bring him back on a permanent basis? 9/10

LS - Jack McKay (64 OVR)
                        - 23 apps, 10 goals, 2 assists: The Exiles may have found a truly hidden gem in this 19-year old from England. After his arrival from Doncaster in the winter transfer window all he did was finish with a higher scoring rate than the league's leading scorer (Arteaga). To top things off he shows great chemistry with the Venezuelan and it'll be fun to watch them possibly battle for the scoring title next season. 9/10

                        Bench

CM - Yan Klukowski (58 OVR) - 52 apps, 2 goals, 2 assists: The most constant player off the bench for the Exiles was this 29-year old from England. The truth is the club would like to upgrade from him but has not been able to. He just isn't skilled enough to back up at either CAM or CDM up to the standard that Marccelino would like. Nevertheless, finding a suitable replacement for him hasn't been easy and he does just fine. 6.5/10

LB - Scott Barrow (59 OVR)
                        - 45 apps, 1 goal: The 26-year old from Wales was another constant off the bench subbing in for either fullback. He was solid in this role but also not up to standard. 6.5/10

ST - Scott Boden (59 OVR)
                        - 23 apps, 5 goals, 2 assists: The 26-year old from England was actually a very useful weapon for the club making his presence felt whenever he was on the pitch. He has the potential to be a starter for some other clubs so he may be someone the club receives offers for this summer. Otherwise he fits in great as a scorer off the bench. 7/10

CB - Andrew Hughes (60 OVR)
                        - 18 apps, 1 goal: The 24-year old from Wales has been vocal about wanting to play a bigger role with the club but Marccelino does not see him as part of the long term plans with the club. He was useful when called upon, even contributing a goal. With Taylor Moore's arrival in the winter it's hard to say at this point whether Hughes will be with the club next season. 6.5/10

RW - Jack Giles (64 OVR)
                        - 16 apps, 2 goals: The 18-year old from England had a very good showing in his first 3 months at the club after joining the senior squad from the academy in early February. His versatility proved valuable as he was able to fill in at CAM off the bench during most of his appearances and even started his scoring career with a brace. He doesn't have the stamina to be the starter for the Exiles just yet but he's likely to play A LOT one way or another next season. 7/10

LM - Alex Rodman (59 OVR)
                        - 11 apps, 4 assists: The 29-year old Englishman was the ultimate team player, accepting a demotion to a very reduced role after Burke signed a two-year loan to join the club. Playing sparingly, Rodman still showed he has game to offer netting 4 assists in 10 league games. He's valuable off the bench for the Exiles but might be able to play more at another club so if calls call for him he may be with a new club next season.

Other notes: As far as players owned by the club, McKay and Giles are hands down the most promising youngsters. Bondz Moore is someone to keep an eye on from the academy, and there's a good chance he may join the senior squad at some point next season. And speaking of the academy, while the newest scout Kimmo Rasanen searches for talent in his homeland of Finland, Newport County's other scout Adam Adeyemi has been sent to Scotland so there will be updates from those trips in the first update of the '16-'17 season!

It's still early in the season and from what I saw in those games you will end up much higher than where you currently are
Thanks Rabbit!, appreciate you giving my series a watch!, i'm new too it all and doing my best!, learning and getting better as I go!

Urgh, I've been swamped with sooo much work lately! I've been getting the itch to continue my very old Exeter City career and there might be an update or two soon. There's also a LOT that i need to catch up on! I hope the others pop up soon. I cannot really vote on your strawpolls just yet, I'm struggling for time to read let alone leave feedback but I'll hopefully be posting more in the next week or two once I have caught up with everything.

After winning the Clausura 2016, the board awarded us a whooping $108K. That's not a typo. Our budgets for the new season are $1.7 million for transfers and $8K for wages.

In preseason, we agreed to be part of the Invitational Cup and were placed in Group A with Orlando City, Chicago Fire, and Chiapas.

Invitational Cup - Group Game 1
                              Dorados - Orlando City (1-2)
                              Winter 20'
                              Rochez 45'
                              Liu Binbin 75' (Caceres)

Poor start to the pre-season against an OCSC club that looked strong and at times even levels better than what we showed. Liu Binbin's score (a beauty BTW) made it look close at the end but this game was all Orlando and I'll definitely be looking for everyone to step their game up the next time out.

Invitational Cup - Group Game 2
                              Chicago Fire - Dorados
                              Elias 34' (Caceres)
                              Akindele 39'
                              Elias 78' (pen)

The team responded and bounced back in this game, putting us back on track for a spot in the semi-finals. It was nice to see Elias, recently arrived on pre-contract, get started on a scoring spree while Caceres keeps showing that a move further back from the opponent's goal won't necessarily keep him from continuing to be an asset in our attack, as he notched an assist for the second consecutive game.

Invitational Cup - Group Game 3
                              Dorados - Chiapas (2-2)
                              Hurtado 9' (pen)
                              Elias 21' (pen)
                              Silva 35'
                              Guadarrama 37'

A tuneup game against a Mexican league foe proved entertaining, but our failure to win the game also cost us an opportunity to move on in the tournament. We showed better things in the last two games than the first one so hopefully the squad is ready for the season, although transfer moves are still taking place.

                              Invitational Cup
                              Group A
                              1. Orlando City - 5 pts
                              2. Chicago Fire - 4pts (+1 GD)

                              3. Dorados - 4pts (0 GD)
                              4. Chiapas - 2pts

                              Apertura 2016 - Game 1
                              Dorados - Pachuca (2-0)
                              Martin 19' (Caceres)
                              Martin 83' (Caceres)

A successful season/home opener thanks to very opportunistic Martin-Caceres combo. We had 2 shots, both on goal, and scored both times. On the pitch Pachuca was at times the better squad finishing with a small edge in possession to go with their 8 shots (5 on goal) but Frausto (Maisonnial had not arrived yet) had a very good showing as well.

                              Apertura 2016 - Game 2
                              Atlas - Dorados (2-0)
                              Gonzalez 32'
                              Hernandez 41'

Not good. The outcome of the game was fair as Atlas clearly outplayed us throughout 90 minutes and, on the pitch, it hasn't been a good start to the season.

                              Apertura 2016 - Game 3
                              Dorados - Pumas (3-2)
                              Caceres 8' (Liu Binbin)
                              Quiñones 45'
                              Martin 48' (Otero)
                              Liu Binbin 77' (Martin)

                              Quiñones 88'
                              Otero 20'
                              Aguayo 54'
                              Otero 65' (double yellow)

Wildly entertaining game. Obviously the result is the most important aspect so it was good to come out with the W. The performance on the picth also improved, and it was definitely special to score what would prove to be the go-ahead goal already down one man. The feisty aspect of the game wasn't something I'm a fan of but on the other hand I enjoyed watching the guys not let the opponent bully them around, especially on their own turf. Overall more of a step in the right direction.

                              Apertura 2016 - Game 4
                              Puebla - Dorados (0-3)
                              Campestrini 49' (OG)
                              Martin 61'
                              Martin 90+' (Rojas)

Now we're talking. After a challenging first half it seems like the own goal finally broke Puebla down and we finished the match with a convincing victory in which we held the home squad without a shot on goal.

                              Apertura 2016 - Game 5
                              Dorados - Queretaro (0-3)
                              Camilo 45+'
                              Benitez 63'
                              Camilo 83'

Oy, so much for figuring things out. Queretaro beat us using the same formula we used against Pachuca in the season opener, scoring in all 3 of the shots they got off while none of our 10 shots (4 on goal) yielded any results. Overall it was a poor showing by the defense where I'm recognizing some moves need to be made.

                              Apertura 2016 - Game 6
                              Tijuana - Dorados (0-2)
                              Caceres 22' (Elias)
                              Elias 66' (Otero)

Elias' breakout game. While he had had a nice pre-season he had yet to do much for us in the Aperture and the media had started to point it out. Luckily the Brazilian broke out of his slump at a very good time for us to put us back on the winning column.

Review: Still trying to achieve consistency as a club. Some really good results but the losses have been hard-hitting ones and unlike most soccer season these short tournaments come at your quick - we're already one third into it. But all things considered, solidly placed in a playoff spot at the moment and our roster is still not on par with what the best in the Mexican league offer.

I must say the transfer window was highly frustrating. Even after our title in the most recent tournament the board didn't really give us a very good budget and we were able to get some more funds from them but not a whole lot. We had some transactions lined up but they didn't get done for one reason or another. We had agreements with multiple clubs for sales of multiple players but the players wouldn't agree to join the prospective new clubs. Velazquez rejected offers from clubs offering to double and triple his wages here, same for Bedolla. We received and agreed to over 10 offers for Martin but he refused to agree to join any other club, noting he's really enjoying his time in Sinaloa and wants to continue to ride that success here. Neither MLS nor Real Zaragoza were enticing enough for him despite those clubs offering to nearly quadruple his wages here. Caceres was another shocker, Houston Dynamo offered him wages 5 times greater than what we're paying him but he turned it down. The loyalty from the players has definitely been underwhelming.

But on to the moves we did make, the departures weren't really shocking as none of Garcia/Salas/Mejia were going to get any significant PT for us. With a limited budget I had to get creative to get deals done and while Cardacio and Guadarrama definitely would had played for us this season I feel good about what we got in return. Otero is that must-have Venezuelan on the team, taking over at CAM as well as on all set plays. He has yet to reach his ceiling and I hope we'll help him continue to improve. Delgadillo also offers a lot of potential and he's extremely young, and once I figured out I'd be able to play him as a starter it was a no-brainer as a long-term move for the club. All the loan agreements don't need much explanation, and Calero's acquisition is underrated since he also offers good potential for a teenager.

As far as our academy is concerned, we've added a 3rd scout. Before the end of last season we used all of our remaining funds to hire George Speas (2* EXP/JUD) from the U.S., who joins fellow American Tony Davies (3/2) and local scout Pablo Ramos (2/3). Speas was sent to Brazil on a 9-month trip so he'll be there for a while (and good luck with the Zika virus). Here's what the youth squad looks like at this point:

                              - Victor Alonso (CB, 64 OVR, 85-94 POT): Scouts and coaches unanimously agree Alonso will be a young star as soon as he joins the senior squad. The 17-year old from Mexico stands at 6'0", 165lbs and has often been described as ELITE. This is a position of need for the team so the physically strong youngster could get a call up soon.
                              - Julio Moyano (CM, 53 OVR, 73-91): 16-year old from Venezuela standing at just 5'2", 132lbs but we expect some growth out of him both physical and skill-wise. He shows flashes of being a playmaker.
                              - Kofi Allen (RW, 63 OVR, 71-87): This 16-year old Yankee is a true left-footed winger with devilish speed, which makes you forget he's just 5'2", 139lbs. We expect him to physically grow and he's probably the second most ready prospect in the academy behind Alonso.
                              - Jimmy Porter (CM, 51 OVR, 71-87): This 15-year old from the U.S. is a very similar-looking prospect to Moyano but we're not in a position to pass up talent. He's very small (4'9", 119lbs) but also very young and should grow some more these next few seasons.
                              - Victor Soriano (LW, 47 OVR, 71-91: 17-year old from Venezuela who is raw but offers good potential. We hope to develop him quickly before he'd need to be promoted so that he can at least be of use off the bench.
                              - Silvio Navarrete (RW, 52 OVR, 66-84): This 17-year old Venezuelan is a bit more polished than his countryman Soriano but doesn't have as a high a potential. He's been working hard in practice.

                              What's next

                              - 9/3/16: at Ecuador
                              - 9/6/16: vs Colombia
                              - 9/11/16: vs Tigres
                              - 9/16/16: at Cruz Azul

                              - 9/28/16: vs Chivas

                              - 10/2/16: at Morelia
                              - 10/7/16: at Chile

                              - 10/22/16: at Monterrey
                              - 10/26/16: vs Veracruz
                              - 10/30/16: at Leon

One worthy piece of news is that, regardless of us winning the Clausura, we are no in the Copa Libertadores (America's version of the CL). I can only assume this is due to being dead last in the Clausura, so I guess we'll see about that after this season. I'm both disappointed and relieved to not be in it.

And that's it for the first update of the season. There no games with the FVF so stay tuned for the next update!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Rabbit: Dorados first, you've improved the squad quite a bit although maybe not as much as you would have liked considering the little budget you had. The season started a bit up and down but with a win in your game in hand you can move up to third which would be a solid position.
Newport now, sickening to lose in the playoff final after coming so far. Arteaga and Gardner were massive parts of the team and contributed alot to the season you had. My two youth players to watch (one from each career) are Victor Alonso, can almost slot in now and has incredible potential, and Bondz Moore, again can nearly slot into the team and has big potential.

Simp: Congrats on the Cup and CL double! Amazing achievement to win the CL. Kalou had a big season so it must have been hard to lose him to injury. Any reason why Jarstein starts ahead of Kraft? Looking forward to seeing who you sign.

SMH: Another dominant month, dodged a bullet coming back from behind to beat Athletic Bilbao II but you had a great win against Malaga in the cup. Can you become the Invincibles of the Liga Adelante?

Moose & Aquaman: I'll try to watch your vids today and comment on them!

Cabee: Come on, you know you want to post Exeter again.
