Can anyone provide for me an adjustment to the current sliders so they’re perfect for playing League One football? They’re near perfect for premier league teams, but it’s a little slow and comical for League One. I’ve upped the speed from slow to normal (even tried fast), but hasn’t changed much. I also adjusted speed and acceleration back up to 50 and took the majority of first touch error off, but it’s still very slow motion, no pace to the game, ball and the players have no agility nor do they react fast to loose balls.

I use these sliders while playing in League 2, and while I agree with your concerns, I also figure that games in lower leagues are going to be sloppy. Think of it like this, there is a reason why these players are not playing in the Prem or any other of the top leagues yet.

Mm I completely agree, they’re not going to have the same quality as teams from higher up but the games and players are still pacey, even if they’re scrappy. I’ve been playing a lot of the other game recently and coming back to Fifa, I have no idea how to control the ball (is there a button?), dribble (take defenders on), defend (might revert to legacy), and I definitely don’t seem to be able to win the loose ball because the opposition always seems to react quicker than me.

Sounds like you should probably drop down a difficulty level and/or re-learn the game before making any adjustments to set.

As @calbrs04 said the players are lower quality so they won't behave the same as an EPL level player. You could probably switch the game speed to fast but that will make everything faster.

Yeah I probably do need to drop the level and re-learn the game (even though I’m not getting smashed, they’re just slow games), although I have no idea how to do the latter.

Like I said before, I did raise the speed to fast and it didn’t really change much. I expected a game where it was like you’d hit the fast forward on a remote but it wasn’t. I just want the game to have more pace to it, like at the moment it doesn’t feel like you can use pacey players because they run like it’s just a stroll in the park. That’s what I never get about Fifa, they think that players get slower in the lower leagues and they don’t have good agility so they give them low stats. But every season the FA Cup begs to differ, as these so called lower teams spring surprises. There’s lots of fast players in the lower leagues because football has changed, it’s a pacey game now and they all have the same fitness and they’re all as agile as the next guy. Sure, they don’t pass it as well, shoot as well, control the ball as well.. but the pace is the same.

Think about it. The release was a mess & initial updates caused some major problems that have since been (largely) rectified. It makes perfect sense for Sony & Microsoft to insist on a higher degree of scrutiny, as opposed to Steam which is fair to say, more open-source than the two BIG companies!

Possibly a little late to this but the reason I’ve heard for the delay on consoles getting patches is because EA own origin which is the platform fifa is released on whilst Sony and Microsoft are their own entities

Yeah they don't do a very good job represnting the differences between the top tier and the lower level players. The differences aren't so much the physical stats like pace and strength but more mental and technical skills. They tend to forget that anyone good enough to make it as a professional footballer at the very least has the fundamentals of the game down and physical ability.

They tend to forget that anyone good enough to make it as a professional footballer at the very least has the fundamentals of the game down and physical ability.

So just curious, what are the implications from raising the levels of speed, acceleration and even something like pass speed? Does it mess things up?

To me all that does is make FIFA more hyper. As in the animations simply trigger faster.

I think error values are more important here, then ensuring that most teams are pressuring with high lines.

I think tactics play a part as well especially in how different some of the leagues play. EPL, Bundesliga, etc. all have a different feel to them that extends beyond just the broadcast packages.

Attribute wise I think the problem comes down to something you can't really program... the x factor. There's no way to quantify that special something that separates a De Bruyne or Salah from some random league two winger/midfielder. I definitely can understand @Steve_James frustration though especially if you mostly kick around in the EPL going to a league two team is a bit of a shock.

In a perfect world FIFA scouting depth would be as deep as football and that would lead to some truly unique player performances and leagues but that also comes down to the limitations of consoles being the main platform. There's only so much under the hood to work with.

Slow and normal both have their pros and cons. I like slow because the cpu plays at a more realistic pace but I have a hard time with defending on slow. Normal will get you a few more fouls and better reaction times from your players. In a whole though this new patch really nerfed the fouls. I’d say play on normal 10 minute halves. That’s where I’m having the best games right now

According to FIFA’s direct communications the squad update with Villa’s, Norwich & other real player heads will now be released next week instead on this, apparently some crap they made up about not wanting to impact the patch roll out.

I always think it's a good time to start a career but I don't care about the face scans so that's never an issue for me [emoji3]

Like was mentioned earlier might as well wait if your wanting most of the premier league scanned. Also they never really stop updating faces there will always be a new face here or there getting updated. If reflecting real life is the most important thing you'd probably want to hold off on cm until after the January transfer window. Especially for those who like only the big 5 leagues.

I'm old school though so face scans aren't top of my list and I like starting CMs with initial rosters because in my mind CM story starts back when a teams real season starts.
