I think this is a great point and I agree. I also question some comments I have seen as to what experience people are trying to achieve. People saying it’s too hard to play against top EPL teams, I mean shouldn’t it be? I’m Southampton, I want it to feel like “hell” playing City and Liverpool ans Man U. I would love to squeeze out a draw or a win occasionally, but I should get absolutely ponded by them most of the time. It seems some people want an easier experience. Which makes zeroing in on sliders for everyone really hard. Luckily for me, I feel like Matt is adjusting sliders with the type of experience I am looking for as the goal, because I have been very happy with each evolution.

Can't speak for others but the issue is just how imbalanced the challenge is. Without sliders, I love the challenge in attacking play on Ultimate but every single EPL team is insanely lethal on Ultimate currently. Yes, I want playing Man City and Liverpool to be intense and hard but when Newcastle and Burnley are impossible to keep clean sheets against, it's super frustrating.

Personally, don't think I'd even need sliders if I could just play with World Class CPU attacking difficulty and Ultimate CPU defensive difficulty.

Can I ask your camera settings? Sort of torn between EA Gamecam and Broadcast. Yours looked quite nice.

I think I've found my best combination until the patch releases for PS4:
Legendary normal speed
10 min halves
Matt V6 sliders, except Marking 70/70, Speed 10/15, Pass Speed 30/30

No longer using slow build up as my attack tactic
The slow buildup with V6 for me is what had my team not moving around much after gaining possession. This was causing issues with dealing with the press given I'm in a 4-2-3-1 wide formation.

Tactics:
Defense:Pressure on heavy touch, 55 width, 50 depth
Offense: Balanced with Direct Passing (So my fullbacks aren't too far out of position since on legendary, it really helps if they get involved in the attack v. leaving them behind. 60 width.
Instructions: Sweeper Keeper, CDMs drop between defenders, CAM & forwards aggressive interceptions.

Broadcast is broken this year, ball carriers regularly go off screen, have raised a bug report but have no confidence it’ll even be noticed by ea.

Are you playing a career mode that was started before update 2? If so, have the specific career mode changes applied to your save or do you need to start a new one for them to take effect?

Sounds great though, can't wait.

Circling around to this: I started a new career mode with Patch #2, and my experience is with that mode only.

I'm sorry! XD When I was playing, I was instantly thinking "WHOA, this is WAY different!" I played several games with V5 and V6.

So apparently the whole time I thought I was playing with the world class sliders in my CM, they were actually the world class sliders on legendary. Playing a game with the actual world class sliders right now and will report back. Very weird, that’s never happened before.

You all are right, but I had not taken into account that Matt is working on PC without hypermotion, and he doesn't have to have the same results or sensations as in next gen. Maybe it would be better to separate the next gen and old gen sliders into different threads..

Matt is playing PC with Stadia, so it is totally next gen. Really?

Ah, fair enough. I'll wait until the patch hits consoles next week before starting my career mode (finally!) with Bayer Leverkusen.

It's nice, but I hope there aren't a red card and a penalty in the first ten minutes every game..

v6 sliders definitely is not doing it for me, although it probably is premature before the ps5 patch is released so I will acknowledge that.
Although v4 and v5 made me downscale to professional because world-class became way too robotic, and way too back and forth like fifa12. I am playing as a 5 star team and losing to a 3 star team that got a red carded player on it? It’s too back and forth, too many goals per game, each game is 4-3 or 5-3 or 3-3 results and just 2 or 3 fouls. The ai getting that red card was the highlight of v6 but this FIFA scripting is really showing itself with this version and version 5. I loved version 1 or 2 sliders.

How much do tactics affect sliders? I am using a high press at 90, but my defenders have 75-85 pace. Most goals I am conceding are not from counterattacks but rather bull**** dribbling. Also the AI is making some ridiculous saves whilst my 84 rated GK has butter fingers.

If you’re playing in your CM make sure that you’re actually on world Class. Yeah I usually double check my settings because FIFA is notorious for reverting settings at random times haha.
