Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
Personally I always recommend going with the highest difficulty you can handle to get the best out of the defensive AI. World Class seems really fairly balanced this year.
I'd run with WC and then identify the problematic areas in your experience. Too hard attacking? Adjust sliders slightly to compensate. Too hard defending? Nerf some of the CPU sliders to compensate.Comment

Just saying it's too easy or too hard isn't enough to go on. Why is Pro too easy and WC too hard for you?

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
The challenge part within career mode itself can be an issue depending on what league you are in. Which I'm sure affects people's experiences with the sliders.I was in the MLS, where most of the teams stink and you have inflated budgets. Plus no real meaningful competition outside of the playoffs.
If you are looking for a bigger challenge involving an MLS club, I came up with a fun idea. Since this is a very career mode focused group, yall might enjoy it. Just make sure to go into the default custom tactics and roles and change them to suit your roster and/or how you actually want to play.
1. Start career mode. No summer transfer window. Strict negotiations. No infusion of extra money.
2. Use the swap teams feature to create a North & South America super league which takes place in Argentina. That league has 26 teams. You play every other team once. [I'll list the teams to put in the league at the bottom of this]
3. The reason to do the league in South America is that you can enjoy the South American Champions League/Europa League also. Because FIFA has designated teams not in leagues across South America for these competitions, it doesn't deplete the tournament like creating the Europe superleague would.
Teams for the league, based on prestige & international recognition rankings from fifaratings.com + my knowledge of some of the leagues:
From Argentina - Boca Juniors, Independiente, Racing Club, River Plate, San Lorenzo, Velez Sarsfield, Estudiantes, Lanus
From Mexico - America, CF Monterrey, Cruz Azul, Guadalajara, Tigres, Pachuca
From Brazil - Mineiro, Gremio, Santos, Fluminense, Internacional
From MLS: Atlanta, LA Galaxy, NYC FC, NY Red Bulls, Seattle, Orlando (because I'm playing as them)
*From Japan: Kashima Antlers - I'm keeping with a Copa America tradition here. Japan occasionally gets invited to compete in Copa America and in the spirit of Brazil having a lot of Japanese heritage in Sao Paolo, I wanted one in there for fun.
It's definitely a much higher challenge being in a league with better teams (though none are above a 75 overall...this league is pretty balanced) where the goal of every team is to win.
I first simmed the whole season out a couple of times out of curiosity to see how the table would shake out. In both, Orlando finished mid-table. In both, the bottom 3 teams were all MLS teams LOL.
Tigres finished second both times. River Plate won it once and Monterrey won it once. Kashima actually held their own, finishing in the top half of the table.
I'm now three games into playing during the season and I only have 1 pt so far. I've really had to mess with tactics to get the most out of the roster limitations, which has been a breath of fresh air. I won't be able to keep a clean sheet so I need to try and win matches 2-1 or 3-2.Comment

Desperate to start my career mode lol, but I'm waiting for the patch to hit the PS5 now. Should be Wednesday or Thursday this upcoming week I think? Would be great if it's here earlierComment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
I think my problem was I got too far down a custom tactic rabbit hole and started treating the game like Football Manager, which it aint.
Played a couple of play nows with default tactics and formations and found things much better. Played a game with 2 similarly rated teams (Bristol City and Milwall) and one against a team with a higher rating (Fulham) and found things much more like it, having to play well to win and having mistakes punishedMY TEAMS

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
The patch update makes a big difference physically to the game, pretty unreal actually. In terms of the sliders, the set we're working on is pretty much version 5 with [reluctantly] putting run frequency back to 1/1 as the biggest change. Some other values make a difference too though. I'll update the OP shortly to advise of the changes. Version 6 will probably be released soon as it works for both pre and post patch.Comment

Anyway, if anyone wants to test the sliders below, let me know if it's helping you with those counter attacks where the CBs and defenders just jockey along and let their attacking runner get right by them. I've changed sprint speed to 75/75 (from 10/10) and so far, I haven't seen it once. I haven't really looked for anything outside of this yet, so early days. If it works then possibly some other sliders might need tweaking to balance things out. Still testing... ''
Hi Matt, please report this to ea. I tested 65 and 75 slider speed and it solved 100% problem with counter attack and AI defenders that lack of aggressiveness. Hope that thay can fix it coz its major issue since fifa 20Comment

If people are sick of slider talk in a thread dedicated to sliders, I think they've come to the wrong thread. [emoji23]

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
Has anyone looked into Shot Speed/GK again? I've had this problem that most shots of the AI are goals. And that is in low leagues, not 90 rated players. I play on Legendary, Normal speed, V5+Matts updates.
I've tried going down with Shot Speed, as most of the shots are usually very fast across the GK, and their animation is weird. That didn't really help much. Now I'll be testing more of 49 GK since that's what I started 22 with. I remember previous years with 49 Shot Speed we always did 49 GK to align the animation so I don't know why we are not doing it now, because there is clearly something off with the shooting.
This problem is from the second to last updated btw. The one where they reduced the GK quality.Comment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
For here, which I'll include in the writeup, is the main issue with 50 run frequency is what we knew to be an issue with the CB jockey animations and how the multiple runs affected the CB,FB and attacker/midfielder positioning. It's reluctant because we liked everything that 50 RF brought such as better defensive positioning, better awareness, etc. The RF 1 allows the runs to be varied, such as less of a streak, and more of an awareness to the defensive line. It's not perfect, and it does not rid the CB jockey, but it's much, much better.
I know a couple on here stated the same, and just for clarity it wasn't that we ignored it, it's just that we really wanted to make 50 RF work because of all the benefits. The good thing is, the workaround of RF 1, and sticking to the base of Version 5, has allowed for a really good experience both pre and post patch.

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
,,I know some of you are sick of slider talk but if we can tweak the gameplay to a point where we can minimise issues and improve the experience, then I'm up for it. As @Emroth said the other day, FIFA is always going to need these tweaks. Especially this year I think it's worth spending the time!

With that said, I respect the heck out of Anth and his approach - it's basically right up my ally, so I'm confident with whatever he finds, it will be worth it to a lot of users. It's just this super high Sprint approach that I can't get on board with.Comment
