Yeah some good things here. Hope that R1 dribble nerf will work as it should as I'd love to normalize the Sprint values. Some concern with the execution of midfield congestion.

Nothing for career mode. It's already started.

Been really enjoying career mode with version 7 I’m guessing this is gonna mean a new slider set 🤕

The amount of work that is needed to get the CBs past the halfway line in building the attack requires Xabi Alonso methods of converting their status to DMFs. In FC24, it's brilliant this year how the CBs interact with the ball and prepare for transition. The variety the display is one of a kind. It's not quite to FIFA 16 levels, but compared to even FIFA 23 - it's quite significantly better.

I really enjoyed my time with player career mode as well. While I haven't gone as deep as I did compared to BAL (Lam Matteo if anyone is interested: https://forums.operationsports.com/f...es-2009-a.html ) ; there is a lot to work with.
Yes, a good amount to work with that will keep me engaged as a gamer. I play more player career, be a legend type modes as it keeps me away from the “god” like aspects of controlling everything. I have to allow for teamwork from the AI to be successful and when it all comes together it’s rewarding not being the center of every run, build up, defensive play. I’m more of a casual soccer fan but have played this way in NBA2k before myplayer was even a thing, so trying to find ways for the cpu to pull their weight has been a struggle with the FIFA series compared to 2k but it’s getting there. Had many more good matches last night and thankfully the objective and rating system isn’t tied so much to benching.

I “enjoy” seeing slumps and not winning every match so I’m glad to see a more simulation style approach to player career mode that was unachievable last year due to the high marks that you had to hit, constant 9.5+ rating, two goals and an assist we’re the norm and didn’t lend to any type of play where you could lose a few games during a season with a lower ranked team and work your way up.

EA FC 24 Denunciation and Ultimate Difficulty Slow Paced Adjustments

            Xbox Series X
Ultimate Difficulty, Slow Paced, 8 Minute Halves
Version 7 Sliders (Minor Adjustments from Default and Testing Changes)

Hello to the community. Currently, I have removed myself from the game, while awaiting the next Title Update, initially scheduled for launch this Thursday, however, still waiting for firm date. First, I wanted reiterate a number of gaming engine and coding aspects, previously covered in my initial post to this forum (for reference, page 169, paragraphs 3 through 5). Disconnecting from the EA servers, deletion of either the Down Loadable Content (DLC) or primary settings files, will not have any theoretical affect on gameplay, AI intelligence, or match outcomes.

EA server or Internet connectivity: Only utilized for online gameplay, squad or Live Tuning updates, and backing up configurations to cloud computing.
Main settings file: Resets all configurations to default, forcing the user to start over on the next game loading sequence, as if the game were new, with the exception of a number of cloud storage elements saved from a previous session; most personal preferences aside from camera, audio, visual, and sliders.
DLC file: This file only comprises EA FC 24 Ultimate Edition game add-ons, bonus features, and rarely, updated balls, boots, GK gloves, and pitch side advertising board content outside the normal squad updates.

The two predominant facets of the game that do impact gameplay, AI, CPU actions, in-game algorithmic (hidden) difficulty adjustments, and perceived user disadvantageous ('cheating'), are localized system/game caches, and continual saved user profile metadata. For the cache storage, after each gaming session, I delete the one career mode auto save from the main game settings menu, and physically unplug the console, until the next day. As a failsafe when starting a new session, I verify the setting and slider configurations from the pre-match game options menu. There is a history in EA FC 24 of a number of game settings regenerating to default, specifically custom camera sliders, ironically the 'Hold to Skip' for pre-match introductions, and extremely rarely the CPU sliders for acceleration and marking will change to zero.

As for the main user profile storage component, in my opinion, there are two instances when someone should delete this file; two to four weeks after the initial release of the game when experimenting and difficulty adjustments have been solidified, or when someone has consciously decided to modify their traditional gameplay difficulty (e.g. years of playing on World Class, and moving to Legendary, or Default to Slow pace). The profile metadata save is both progressive and fundemental for processing inherent game algorithm information, therefore, if someone plays hundreds or thousands of matches with 'easier' difficulty or slider settings, and maintains an unrealistic winning percentage, then the CPU will systematically increase opposition player abilities, tactics, and 'last minute' advantages. Deleting the profile will zero out the metadata, and while the first five to ten matches will be perceived as more balanced or fair, over the course of time, could be detrimental to the gaming experience. For example, one data collection aspect in the profile save is match outcomes (win, draw, or loss). If we consider the outcome as a three-sided die, a random rolling would have a 33.33% chance of occurring. Starting with a zeroed out file, presumably someone could start a career mode save with an unbeaten run over ten matches, for instance six wins and four draws. The game engine and coding would observe a winning percentage of 60%, instituting a dramatic modification to CPU opposition gameplay in future matches. As the number of total number matches are played out, the closer to a statistical average should occur (i.e. 2500 total matches, 950 wins, 675 draws, 375 losses, or 38% win rate, instead of 60%). Preserving the profile save for longer periods will result in a more constant or uniform counterbalance to algorithm intervention. This example is only one of perhaps fifty metrics that are collected by the game engine algorithm, although from the Profile tab in the main settings, only total matches played and calculated winning percentage are visible to the user.

I have recently converted back to Ultimate difficulty from Legendary. Since FIFA 17, gameplay had been predominately Ultimate with Default game speed, and only recently, I experimented with Legendary Default paced. Several weeks of slider adjustments, resulted in frustration and disillusionment with the game.

Legendary Difficulty with Default Pace Failures (Cons)

            1. Incessant CPU opposition high press in every match, regardless of the opponent, with minimal change throughout the match, and no stamina depletion.
            2. Similar tactics both on offense and defense by the CPU for every match distinct from the league or match type; wing press with cutback, park-the-bus defense, etc.
            3. No adherence by the game engine to player abilities and attributes of CPU, or user AI controlled players; 85 rated user players with no passing, defending, or shooting ability, 70 rated CPU players mimicking top performers in the world, or the Zinchenko (Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Zinchenko, Arsenal left fullback, notoriously slow paced defender) unnatural phenomenon of tracking down user attackers from behind that have 15-25 points higher pace levels.
            4. CPU attacker invisible 'forcefield' along the edge of the eighteen-yard box, and twenty to thirty pass possession sequences, even by third-tier league clubs.
            5. Continual CPU jersey pulls and defender 'hugging' instances against user attacking players.

The list in non-conclusive and generally pertains to Legendary difficulty. Switching from Legendary Default to Ultimate Slow has mitigated many, if not all of these aggravations, however, slight modifications to the Ultimate slider set were required to moderate new problematic instances in matches. As Matt has indicated over the past decade, along with other members of the community, the core game engine is 'indoctrinated' to optimally function on Default pace, and the new additions of Hypermotion technologies only exacerbates Slow paced animations and gameplay.

With reference to slider adjustments for Ultimate Slow, the following are some modifications that I have tested to reduce CPU advantages, randomize gameplay, and 'level the playing field'. Again from previous posts, wanted to restate the principles of slider application. The purpose of sliders is not to contribute advantages or disadvantages to either the CPU or user, and additionally, support a user playing on a higher difficulty than their skillset warrants. When conducting personal career mode saves, I alter difficulty and slider configurations to be as realistic as possible. Starting with a bottom table club, for instance Sheffield United in the Premiere League (currently twentieth in the table with only one win and two draws), I expect to finish no higher than twelfth, and on average closer to sixteenth in the table, after the first season when playing all matches. If the finish in in the top ten, or wins/draws in matches against top table clubs occurs frequently, then the difficulty or slider adjustments are misconfigured. Additionally, when considering the fundamental career mode program is devised to function with predetermined tactics, and upgrades in players and gameplay from assistant coaches, I incorporate all these features (full allotment of five star expert coaches, and individual player dynamic development).

            * When adjusting values for Slow paced, as opposed to Default, slight differentiations have exaggerated affects; i.e. 85 First Touch Error on Default, no influence on CPU, minimal on user controlled players, conversely on Slow paced, nearly unplayable for both CPU and user.
** As previously mentioned in other posts, my gameplay could differ from others, as I only control a single player during matches.

Slider Adjustments Derived from Version 7 (Ultimate Slow only):

Acceleration: New value 52 for both CPU and user. When testing 50 and 51, both clubs execute improbable knock-on runs six to ten times per match each, resulting in unrealistic score lines, and enhanced 'cheating' at the end of matches. While the increase in acceleration does perpetuate more high press scenarios and aggression by the CPU, the overall effect is lower than on Legendary Default, and reduces the knock-ons to less than three for each club, and in some instances, removes them completely or allows the defender to close the gap, all while preserving the disparity between fast and slow paced players. In addition, the acceleration boost 'smooths out' some of the sprinting animations, while engendering more stamina depletion, causing the CPU to substitute players accordingly, and limit the pressing tactics to appropriate scenarios. Further increasing the value to 53 begins to have adverse implications; disproportionate stamina drain, and high press circumstances, essentially resembling Legendary Default.
Shot Error: High average of the slider version values, 84 for both CPU and user.
Pass Error: Again, high average value for both, 64-66.
Goal Keeper Ability: On Slow pace, goalkeeper animations are delayed in comparison to Default, currently testing 58-62.
Line Width: In my opinion, one of the most important values to evaluate. Increasing this configuration to between 54 and 55 will mitigate CPU tendencies to always initiate attacks or counterattacks down the sideline. As a result of game coding, the CPU players will always first 'look' to probe and run along the outside of the pitch, however, the increased line width will position user players wider, enabling them to engage the CPU attack close to the midpoint line, and continue on to the eighteen-yard box. The increase also reduces the gap between the CPU and user players, effectively making the contain and team mate contain feature work more competently. Escalating this value beyond 55 will have a counterintuitive repercussions; the main CPU attack mechanism will ostensibly be quelled or 'neutered', resulting in Ultimate difficulty playing analogous to Harder World Class or Legendary difficulty. The increased line width also elevates randomness, middle engagement and central attacking by CPU.
First Touch Error: Initially tested with the value from the new slider set (85 for both). The high value, combined with Slow paced gameplay, proved unmanageable for user AI controlled players, and CPU passing/possession numbers declined substantially. For testing, values between 72-78 for both, gave the impression of fair/even play, and realistic possession statistics.

No, sorry, I thought I had this, but I just can't make this game enjoyable at the moment. These sliders used to be the game changer for me, even in desperate times, but now even they can't save the game for me. It's just unplayable. I might get one chance per game and score one, but the opponent gets 20 chances and scores two. Been playing since Fifa 98, so I know something about the franchise...

I've kinda thumbed through this thread, so I apologize if this has been answered already. Do these slider edits affect the game when you watch with the tactical view? I remember using some sliders from both FIFA 22 that worked great there and in 23, plus new sliders for this year and none really made the AI feel good to watch play. Or is there a completely different set of sliders somewhere that deal specifically with tactical view? Thank you in advance fellas

World class that i’m seeing all the issues on. Overbearing pressure by the cpu, shielding causes my players to just get shoulder pulled off the ball, and zero variance in cpu attacks.

Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders

                      Two matches on Leg default.

Completely different matches and tactics. Adaptive AI, how about Adaptive USER?

I see a trend right now that is scary where we're becoming way, way, way too technical in why you lose or why you win. I tied the first match because I was able to determine that the CPU had spent a lot of free time in the middle of my pitch. So I decided to clog it up and switch from a 5-3-2 to a 4-1-4-1. A bit of a makeshift, but it worked.

The second match, I gave up on my 5-3-2 way too early. At the start of the second half I was feeling good and thought about just staying with it. Instead, I went through and it just gave me the answer that my inverted RWB cannot play LM or LW.

The CPU attack was different in both matches. You could tell what they were trying to do, and what desperation I had to block off the shooting angles. However, each match surprised me because the first opponent struggled to make passes on the midfield, but excelled at the top or near my box. The second built from the back, with the lead, and really put the right kind of pressure on my central mids to get the ball out very wide - which meant some very risky passes. They used my overlapping RWB against me and countered on that side very well.

My point is stop thinking like developers and complicating things. We're not testing anymore until TU#6 comes out, which should be soon. You are becoming tinkerers for no reason and you're making these changes game by game, rather than giving it 5 matches, then adjusting GRADUALLY. Then replaying the same match over and over until you see what you want.

Play the game with your football brain and ignore things like adaptive AI, etc. You are a brain yourself - you can do things the CPU can't. Explore that first before going into slideritis.

I play in WC, slow with Matt10 sliders.
And try Full Manual on PS4.

Does anyone (specially one of the sliders testing team) play also full manual and can share all controller settings, visual, camera, etc?
Just to be sure I have set up everything according to full manual set.

For example, I play without radar and maybe it is too difficult to see attacking players runs.

                        Thank you in advance.

To me this clearly tells me that you guys simply haven't noticed this. I'm not talking about outsprinting CPU players. I'm talking about reacting on rebounds, the CPU is always faster. Notice how much faster the CPU recovers when you tackle. Notice how you simply can't win a single header on an attacking corner kick when playing on Slow Speed. Notice how the CPU instantly reads your inputs when using skill moves. And more importantly, notice how none of that happens on Default speed. The headers on corner kicks issue is especially obvious. I spent 3 full seasons in CM trying to win a single header on Slow Speed. The minute someone mentioned issues with Slow speed in this thread i changed to Default Speed. Immediately the next match i play i score a goal from a corner kick and have managed to do it consistently ever since. Same with skill moves. They instantly worked.

And i also don't understand how having goalkeepers let balls in on purpose shouldn't be regarded as an immersion breaker. It's something that only started to happen after FIFA 22. You simply won't find that in any PES or FIFA game before that. Not one.

I understand that FC 24 has a lot of good stuff that you guys managed to capitalise on with the slider set and that has to be commended. But focusing on the fact that the slider set does manage to get the CPU to cross at least once in a 90 minute match isn't a solution either. No one is saying that's on you guys, we're just noticing how nothing seems to fix the problem of the CPU playing the same all the time. Because they do. I very rarely see this "varied CPU attack" that gets mentioned every now and then, that usually only happens against lower rated teams. If you playing against any good team from any top-flight country that CPU pattern will still be the same.

Again, i want to stress that i'm not saying this is anyone's fault or trying to be critical of the work being done here. But there are things that i feel are being either ignored or downplayed in favour of other things that might not even have a solution to begin with.

After all this, i have a question. Is there a difference in CPU attack variety between World Class, Legendary and Ultimate? Up until now, i have only played on Legendary so my experience is only with that difficulty level in particular.

I think there is definitely a difference in how the CPU attacks on different difficulties. The most common example we’ve all noticed is how much more willing the CPU is to cross the ball on WC compared to Legendary.

Ultimate is something I haven’t tried this year, but I’m definitely tempted to give it a go after playing 11 matches without conceding a single goal on Legendary in my Zaragoza CM. Does anyone know why you can’t select Ultimate difficulty from the main menu/kick off menu? It only seems you can select it in CM, which isn’t ideal for testing with different teams etc.

The newly released patch notes are very promising. I hope we will have a much more enjoyable gameplay.

I’m at work but I see the title 6 update came out out a few hours ago! Has anyone tried the current slider set with it yet?
