Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

So, This has been a crazy season so far. We started off great, then went into a run of poor form, then great, etc. Hills and valleys.

We lost our best midfielder Jorge Hernandez due to a board-forced transfer. At least I was able to put the ~600,000 I got (MLS took 33 percent) to good use, picking up Pineda from Chicago, who is sure to be a future star. I also was able to increase the payroll budget to allow some more frees, and drop Jorge Perlaza, who wanted to move to a bigger club, and is now sitting at home, clubless, watching our success with envy.

What success? Well, it isn't in the MLS, nor the USOC. We don't look likely to make the playoffs with 10 to go, but you never know. Our success, has come in the Superliga, which we qualified for based on our excellent USOC run last year.

We're heading into the final against current Primera Division leaders Monterrey. Tough match, but we've done great getting this far.

We did it! Yes! I'd also like to say that Football Manager is the most gratifying game ever created.

        Congrats!!!

So my first gigantic signing at Palmero was a 20 yr. old defender who, as you can see, is not too bad:

He's already my best defender at 20. Italy fired their manager so I applied and was given the job. I had Cameroon at #2 in the world, but Italy is a way better team, and there was no way I was contending for a WC title with Cameroon. WC qualifying is about to start, and I was given a favorable draw:

The board says my expectation is to qualify for the WC. Well, if I don't finish first out of that group, I deserve to be fired.

Man, what a difference two months makes. Two months ago (game time) I nearly blew my chance to get promoted from the Championship. Now I'm managing the Serie A defending champions and managing Italy.

So, Our season is over. We finished 1 point out from a playoff spot, dethroned by Colorado on the last day. While, I was extremely optimistic for the future, Liga Adelante side Gimnàstic de Tarragona came calling, and seeing as how they were predicted to finish 11th, I took it after belaboring the decision for a good amount of time. It was a difficult one, but a decision that I hope can catapult my career into Europe.

For those wondering, San Jose went on to win their 2nd consecutive MLS cup.

This came a few days after the decision. Made me even more sad to leave Portland.

So after beating Arsenal 2-1, tying Chelsea and Valladoid, and then crushing several lower league teams in the preseason, I finally played my first competitive match with Palmero, destroying Roma in the Supercoppa di Legga Tim Final.

I uploaded a video just in case anyone wants to see a gigantic howler from the Roma left back/keeper.

UEFA Champions League groups were drawn, and I was handed a tough group:

Then I beat Barca in the UEFA Super Cup Final. They dominated possession as expected, but I knew they couldn't handle our speed so I sprung my mids forward with through balls and it worked like a charm.

I'm still in the early part of my season as Napoli. My first league game was against Milan. Thanks to an early red card as well as Lavezzi and Hamsik, I pulled out this gem:

Sitting in a tie for first with Inter after 2 games. Cavani has yet to score in the league, but it's not for a lack of trying. He hit 3 posts in his last match

Here's the Lavezzi goal where he undressed Pirlo:

I continue to kick some major arse in my Napoli save.

A big win over winless Juve:

Followed by a crushing victory over Lecce:

And a nice huge goal total and 1st place:

                  My main stars:

Lavezzi - 10 goals 7 assists and 5 MoM in all comps
Cavani - 10 goals 10 assists in all comps
Hamsik - 7 goals 3 assists in call comps

Just finished my best ever season/12 month stretch in my FM career.

In the summer, I won the EURO championships with France.

                    And with Inter this happens

Just finished the 2014/2015 season in my Chelsea/Italy save and it was my best season in my football manager career starting back in FM09.

                      My Chelsea Squad:

                      And we accomplished:

                      And with Italy:

                        Great performances by your teams.

Quick question for yall. Any one knows where I can pick up FM 2010 or FM 2009 to get me into the game (FM 2011 demo already getting me addicted) until I can buy FM 2011?

I don't have the spare change to drop on the current game at the moment. I will be buying it in the next month or so.

BTW I dropped $10 on Fifa Manager 2010 today and I already want my money back - wasted some cash I don't have. SMH

Maybe try Steam? They might still have it up. I've never played FIFA Manager at all and always wanted to give it a go, but FM is just too good to let go. BTW, great job on your saves.

I caved in and started a new save with Borussia Dortmund thanks to my Dortmund supporting Gooners My transfer policy is not to spend over 7 million on any player and to focus on bringing up kids. Besides, Dortmund have a small budget and there's not much they can afford unless players are sold. Will keep you all posted here and on my Blog

                            Hey everybody.

So, I think I might be looking to get into Football Manager. I have play/played in a OOTP and FOF league, so I'm familiar a bit with the whole thing.

Is there any OS leagues? When is the next version? How new is the latest US version?

Appreciate all the help in advance guys!

There aren't any OS leagues because I don't think the game is set up as well for multiplayer leagues as OOTP is. I too play OOTP and can't wait until the new one comes out.

As for the version, FM 2011 is where it's at. Since last season, the US and European versions have had the same release dates. There won't likely be FM 12 until late October/early November at the earliest so feel free to get the game knowing that you will get a lot of playtime before the new version comes out

I love this game soo much. Just like OOTP, this game hooks you in and you can't escape

I rarely play single player in text sims...prefer the challenge of human opponents.

Where do I buy the game from?
