Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Got bored this morning and fired FM 2010 up...having a blast.
Started a save with Everton. Not doing so well in league...lost 1-0 to West Ham and 1-0 to Man City, but advanced in the Europa Cup by beating Denmark's Bronby on a 6-1 aggregate. Drew Arsenal in the 3rd round of the Carling Cup which is a bit of a bummer. Only transfers I've made so far are:
25 y/o ST Jermaine Beckford (from Leeds, $5 million)
17 y/o AM Jonjo Shelvey (from Charlton, $6 million)
Shelvey is a bit of a gamble but I have a feeling he'll be worth the price. I had Saha and Yakubu hurt so getting Beckford was a necessity. He's netted a few goals in the Europa Cup games, but no impact in the EPL so far.
EDIT: Ugh, this season sucks. It's only October and I've already had to deal with lengthy injuries to Yakubu, Yobo, Arteta, Cahill, Heitinga, and Gosling. At least I'm leading my group in the Europa League.Last edited by BunnyHardaway; 08-17-2011, 11:13 PM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I've been playing the 11 demo and I have couple of questions.
When you start a new game what do you do for the transfer budget? IE do you request what you want?
When playing a game, and the Asst. Manager gives player advice of so n so is not comfortable with closing down players, playing more direct, etc, what do you change?'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'-Bill ShanklyComment

2) In the tactics screen, select player instructions. Highlight the player in question. Then click the 'Advanced' button. That brings up a number of options for the player. Adjust the sliders as necessary.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Been working alot lately, so not much FM, but fired up my save, dec 2014, mid-season with keeping my newly promoted bristol city side out of relegation zone. Actually took them to quarters of carling cup also. Then someone offered me a job that I could not resist, Chelsea, first match against Napoli in CL group play, last match actually, and get a 4-3 win. Currently Chelsea is 7th in EPL, hence the job opening.Comment

Going up!
Can we capture the title? We have the point advantage, but we also have 2 sketchy fixtures ahead of us. Regardless, in my humble and probably biased opinion, I think we absolutely deserve it based on GD. We far outclass every other team in the league.Comment

We wound up winning Serie B, and my reputation increased. I know I've moved around too much in this save, but when 10th place finishers Roma came around, I couldn't resist. Looking to get back into the Europa League next season, and perhaps a CL spot after that.Last edited by Whitesox; 08-20-2011, 11:04 PM.Comment

Congrats Sox, just so you know the Board at Roma have a very short leash. I took the job after winning the Belgian Pro League with Standard Liege. I was fired my first full year, the team was in sixth.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football
