In between my 3. Liga games at Offenbach in my quest to get them promoted, I've been flying to the U.S. to try and get Canada qualified for the Olympics Playoffs (I signed on as manager mid-season). And, well, mission accomplished:
I was not expecting to qualify given my group, but holding the United States to a draw was huge.Last edited by rsnomar05; 12-21-2011, 12:02 AM.Comment

I've always wondered about trying to take on a National Side while managing my English Teams. I am always afraid if I apply for those national sides my Board would get mad at me for taking interest in another Club and release me.

On another note, Fulham was just bought by the Supporter's Trust, so now the club is owned by the fans. I have seen Supporter's Trusts try and take over teams in the past in FM, but until now I had always seen them fail.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
2nd year at Everton and I just had a crazy week, we were 4th in the EPL table starting the week. On Sunday night we played at relegation-candidate Wigan and got beat 1-0 while being completely dominated to the tune of 32 shots for Wigan to our 3. On Wednesday, 3rd place Tottenham comes strolling in and I am thinking this could be ugly. After the first 25 minutes we had been out shot 7-0, but all of a sudden the boys wake up and we end up winning 2-1 to jump them and now sit in 3rd place at the halfway point.
Tim Howard has been amazing so far, but our strikers have been brutal. We actually had some good things going with Anichebe but then he went out for 4 months with a torn hamstring. At the January transfer window we need to look to improve that part of the squad.PS4 Username: grismosw7Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well guys finally finished up my season and was able to finish in 3rd with Feyenoord while qualifying for the Europa and also beat ADO Den Haag in the KNVB beker final 3-0. I am happy with my first season as head coach but really didn't expect to finish this high. Here is the final standings:
As you see Ajax was able clearly better than the rest of the teams and I had no chance toward beat even challenging them for title, there end season for was crappy but it didn't matter because of the lead they built early in the season. The surprising team is PSV they were in 15th place at the winter break and fired their coach all of a sudden Frank Rijkaard took over and pushed them into 5th.
Currently I am looking forward to next season Ron Vlaar was excellent and won Feyernoord player of the year and is now getting interest from AC Milan howere he is hitting his prime for a Defender at 27 and I know it will be harder to keep my captain from bigger clubs if they start placing offers. Also it will be harder this season as two of my most influential players last season were the loaned players Guidetti (who went back to Man City) and Omar Bakaal (who was loaned to us from PSV was transfered to the Bundesliga).
So to counter this I picked up a new LB and ended up getting Joel Campbell on loan from Arsenal who has been great in preseason so far. I also ended up switching my personnel around to my liking and adding new addition for cheaper wages which should also help. Overall I am looking forward to the next season and playing in the Europa League and challenging for the title. If I don't win the Eredivisie league I am tipping PSV who just signed van Bommel on free in my season.Last edited by RoyceDa59; 12-21-2011, 11:47 AM.Comment

Riding a five game winning stretch, I've managed 1860 into the 2nd spot in German Bundesliga 2. The winter break couldn't come at a worse time. I hope we are just as invincible when league play resumes.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
The winter break annoys me. Especially having to play mid-season friendlies. And I can't just holiday through them because the transfer window is in full swing and I don't want to holiday through a match only to find we lost and the team's morale is shot.Comment
