Oh that is very cool. I wish SI would release a db that would allow users to play/recreate this same scenario, I would have some fun with something like this.....

Agreed, that would be amazing. I also can't believe Pele was only picked 4th.

Yes, there were some puzzling picks. Can't believe how many keepers went early, with squads like they had I could have kept goal for those teams!

Obviously however FM rated the players, huge preference was placed on modern day players being more athletic than those from yesteryear. And this is a difficult task, rating a player from 1954 vs Messi or CR7. It's not like baseball where you have boatloads of stats to analyze to compare players, and weighted corrections for era & ballparks etc.

Still, a very interesting concept for proper football/FM.

Something like that would be extremely fun and addicting for sure. Might have to see if there's a way to do something like that.

So, today on my walk downtown at lunch, I really came to the realization that I have problems with this game.

I spent my entire walk thinking of ways to have touchline instructions and tactics in real life.

Need to pass a car on the highway? Exploit the Flanks! Can't seem to get up to the busy bar? Hassle Opponents! Get Stuck In! Trying to juggle seeing two girls at once? Box to box midfielder role!

                Yeah, problems.

Thought for sure I was going to draw this game when it started out. Then Andy Carroll came out of nowhere. I'm just about to the point where I can't call this game "sim" anymore. j/k

This result jumped me from 6th in the league to the top spot. First time I've ever been in the top spot in all the years I've been playing FM games. We'll see how long I can hold onto it.

Why in the hell was Park Chu-Young playing and more importantly how in the hell did he score?

I started a Liverpool save as well after the real-life Bolton debacle. 3 matches left and I'm sitting 2 points behind United, who my next match is against. A loss means the end of our title chances. Might get the rest of the season in late tonight.

                      Conclusion: I should replace Daglish.

Lost the match to United 5-3 and here's how the final table looked.

                              <a href="http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j84/imtellintim/?action=view&amp;current=PoolTable2011-2012.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j84/imtellintim/PoolTable2011-2012.jpg" border="0" alt="Final Table 2011-2012, FM2012 Liverpool Save"></a>

Not bad. Brought in 3 youngsters in January.

                              Spoiler

This caused Jonjo Shelvey to hand in a transfer request, and he's not backing down. If I can get double his value, I'll sell him. If not, I'm going to offer him out on loan and hope that's good enough for now. It's going to be a quiet offseason on the contract front. The only decisions I have to make are which youth and reserve players will be cut. All senior players are under contract through at least next year.

In the summer, I will be going after a high-end striker. I won't be winning any Champions League titles with Carroll lumbering around up front all the time.

Europa League for Arsenal. See, this game really is SIM.

EDIT: As per Mo's correction, I see that they did not make Europa. I'm guessing Wenger did not keep his job.
