Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
The skin is Stelko X and the background is a picture I got off google. I just replace one of the default backgrounds in the skin folder with it.
Started up a save with Bury to go along with my Heerenveen save. Was given really nothing in terms of a transfer budget so I moved all of it into my wages and grabbed a couple players on loans and frees. Lost to Championship side Huddersfield 0-1 in the Captiol Cup First Round then lost my first 2 league games 0-1 as well until we finally scored and beat Doncaster 3-1 away.Last edited by Bezzey; 11-28-2012, 11:46 AM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Find others just by looking at the frees and scouting them. I normally wind up with hundreds upon hundreds of scouting reports until I find a couple players worth signing.
That's how I do it.badComment

Always listen to scouts and keep a close eye on the players they send you. I use the player search constantly, just narrow the search down do free transfers and potrntial and other attributes you need. Also watch for youth intakes, you can normally poach some top players from smaller teams before they sign.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Another good thing to do is run a player search the first week of January and filter to Contract Status>Expiring (6 months). You can find some good guys that haven't signed their contract renewals at that point. If they're mad at their club, you can swoop in.
Just keep in mind that while the transfer fee is $0, some of these guys demand ridiculous contracts, especially veterans who think this is their last shot at a big payday.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I was generally able to bring over some quality players in the lower leagues in FM12 due to scouting and the like. I was able to get Rivaldo in FM12 who brought some wonderful quality despite his age. You just have to make sure you address needs first rather than jumping on the best player because his contract killed me and I suffered defensively which was my biggest need. Not sure how it is in 13, but I'm sure it's rather similar. Carlos Ruiz seems like he could be a quality grab in 13 if you can get a work permit for him.Comment
