At the beginning of the year, a New group took over Arsenal. Had a lot of kitty which I didn't spend. Changed my goal to title challenger, New budget was 101 million $. Just made a 92 million dollar offer to Neymar.
Signed him.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Started unemployed, got hired by Doncaster in January. Unbeaten for first 8 matches and then I started to noob it up. (Save before each game)
After I convinced myself I knew what i was doing i stopped that habit.
Finished 6th in nPower 1 and went on to earn promotion.
Got a "huge" transfer budget and wage budget increase and spent a few million on some hot young prospects.
Oh, I also convinced the board to improve our youth facilities because they kinda sucked and I want to make our squad better from the ground up. (That was just completed about a month ago)
Now, about a third of the way through Year 2, I stand in 8th place with a league objective to avoid relegation. (looking good so far with wins vs the teams in 1st and 2nd, but then a couple of bad losses to teams on the bubble)
more to come...
Side Note: Is there a way to make a new youth squad? Say all of my 18u players get to be older than 18 lol, what if I want to make them a 20u team?I used to put important things hereComment

Reading has a few high potential attacking mids in Robson-Kanu and Obita. Le Fondre and Pavel are decent finishers to compliment those two.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
It was well deserved
This kid has kept Mata out of the starting 11, all he does is scores when he's on the pitch (even with 6 finishing) teamed with Hazard and Oscar
It's currently Jan 11, 2015 and I'm sitting with a transfer budget of $110m and a wage budget of $1.1m. Every player I go after teams want stupid outrageous fees like $179mil for Higuain and $160 for Damiao so I've just been building up the youth and swapping them in next to stronger players. I have brought in Abel Hernandez ($39m), Thiago (p e/x + $6.5m), Marco Veratti (18.5m) and David Alaba ($27m)Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Started up my Liverpool save a few weeks ago. First season is in the books. Finished 6th and made no cup runs of note. Man U won the league after I put a dagger in Man City's chances by beating them 3-1 in match week 36. That put Man U up 5 points. I didn't really have enough transfer money to make any major moves, so I mostly bit the bullet and went with what I had all season. On the last day of the January transfer window, Spurs panic-bought Martin Kelly for $13 million. I couldn't pass that up for him. To replace him, I brought in Mattia Cassani in on loan from Fiorentina and ended up making his deal permanent for $1.5 million. I then used another $11 million from that transfer to secure a deal for Brazilian wonderkid Otavio to join after the season.
Immediately upon their return from loans, Joe Cole got cast away on a free (in which I, of course, have to pay 50k/week for a year - better than 150), and Jay Spearing was bought by Wolves for $9 million. Oussama Assaidi spent all year bitching about various things and bringing down morale, so he got sold for $7 million to Levante. I still haven't done anything with Carroll and have decided to try and work him in as a target man in a 4-4-2 here and there. I have been patiently waiting for a German CB whose name escapes me (Jan-something from Mainz) to come back from an injury so I can buy him for about $18 million. Also made a couple other bargain depth signings that should work out.
Bayern keeps trying to buy Skrtel from me for $30 million over 36 months, but he's the only CB on my team who consistently plays without getting injured. Agger is way too injury-prone, so it's him I wish they were trying to buy for that abount. I asked them for $45 million in a lump sum, but they weren't having it.
We drew Hearts in the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League and beat them 4-1 at home in the first leg. Otavio bagged a goal on his debut as did another central midfielder signing. Good start.
Other things of note - Hatem ben Arfa signed for....Chelsea, shocking I know. Neymar just completed a move to Man U. Man City just signed Gotze, to go along with Hamsik from January. Not fair.Comment
