Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

UEFA.com is the official site of UEFA, the Union of European Football Associations, and the governing body of football in Europe. UEFA works to promote, protect and develop European football across its 55 member associations and organises some of the world’s most famous football competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Women’s Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, UEFA EURO and many more. The site features the latest European football news, goals, an extensive archive of video and stats, as well as insights into how the organisation works, including information on financial fair play, how UEFA supports grassroots football and the UEFA HatTrick funding scheme.

All the official documents are on the right-side of the page.

So are the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules part of FM2014? If so, I'm buying it immediately!

There are individual Fair Play rules for the English leagues, and those for European competitions. Can post screenshots if you (or anyone else) is interested.

They are. Not sure how well they are implemented, but they're in there.

If anyone wants to try a (admittedly odd) tactic, I'd like to see this one I made get some testing. It doesn't look like it would score much at all or anything due to it being so back heavy but it's been working for me wonderfully. I've been using it at 1860 Munchen this season.

The standings (about halfway through the season):

        The Formation:
        Spoiler

Basically it's very, VERY heavy possession. Short passing, probing and waiting for a player to get in good position. As you can see, I'm near the top (6th of 14) in goals scored (27, leader has 31) and at the top in goals conceded (11 through 17 games, next team has 16 in 16 games.)

I'm not sure if it keeps the shouts in there. I haven't been using opposition instructions, just focusing on the team shouts/instructions. Here are the ones I've been sticking with.

I'm really pleased by the match engine improvements - it looks much more like a real game, has smoother animations and even some nice touches off-play like players stretching and accessories such as wristbands on players that wear them and different color boots.

The new enhanced positions is also great. The halfback! Love it.

One disappointment I have is with some US data - Juninho of the LA Galaxy plas for the USMNT (he's not a citizen) and Darlington Nagbe is available for the USA even though he's not eligible to become a citizen until the end of 2015. Minor sticking points, but I raised them in the SI forums.

I'm gonna run a bunch of leagues when the final game goes live. I have 16GB of RAM on my new laptop and MBP so I should be OK. I asked because I didn't want the sim speed to be too slow. I appreciate the feedback

In my test save, I started as Everton with the goal of turning them into a great team. My goal is to build the team around Barkley and hope that in 5 seasons, this will be a team contending regularly for the title

I extracted the two folders to the skins folder and it doesn't appear in my in-game drop down menu. Anyone have any luck with this?

I had no issues with it appearing. Make sure both folders are extracted to the skins base folder (and not in a sub folder). Also in preferences uncheck the box for using the cache.

You may have done what I did. I think when I first extracted it there was the folder for the skin, then the two folders. Gotta look like this as you go into the skins folder:

Mine looks exactly like that. Is this skin available for FM Classic mode?

Nope, only the regular game mode.

Edit: Miles just posted a tweet. Looks like they just dropped a "beta" update. It's 70.3 MB in size.

Am I missing something or did they remove the option to display graphic bars for ratings instead of numbers? I can't seem to find it.

Quick question: what are the best 3 nations to use for FMC? I have england, italy, and france(?)
I want to have a save that i can play on Vita (whenever thats coming out). It would be just like my RTTS in Mlb the show.

                          ---------
In my test save (classic) I started unemployed as a sunday league footballer and took Dover Athletic (Skrill South) from mid table to playoff place. Their goal was to gain promotion and i lucked out and won!

Unfortunately the previous manager had 2 of their best players on the reserve squad and transfer listed them, thus they don't want to extend their contracts. Soooo now im trying to avoid relegation. Let the games begin!

I think England/Germany are a must for the two... Any combination of Spain/France/Italy for the third is fine. I've always had good luck with French regens in the series.

Not sure what you're referring to but I'd like to see what this option is myself.
