Yeah... I'm probably losing about 50% of my "main squad" (used a heavy rotation though) where the only thing I can think of is that they may want to move to Full-Time contracts, where I can't offer them that yet at this point since I'm still Semi-Pro.

EDIT: There's this kid I want to sign that plays for one of my affiliate teams (an amateur team from the US). But it says he's unlikely to receive a work permit. Is that because he's under 18?Last edited by jmaj315; 11-08-2013, 04:17 PM.I used to put important things hereComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Managed to bag my second title, along with a couple of cups (Senior Shield and League Cup) in my 2nd season at Kitchee.
My plan of getting out of Hong Kong quickly quite evidently failed, although I'm now something like the 5th best manager in the Hong Kong hall of fame! I'm considering resigning soon, I don't want to get stuck down here. I've not much else to say really now, not a really exciting season!Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'd love to see reputation being a bit better represented whilst I'm on this point. For example, I've currently got "National" reputation. This sort of speaks for itself, but is that national for the league? The Hong Kong First Division is a 1 star competition, so does that put me at a 1 star sort of reputation?
That's me thinking out loud a little, but I'd be interested in hearing other people's thoughts on it.Comment

That's actually made me had a re-think and a bit or a rejig with the leagues in game. I've taken out a couple of Asian countries and put the big European ones in as I'm more familiar with their reputation with journeyman games.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
National means that you are well known in the country. But people outside the country aren't going to know who you are. So if you're looking to move to a better team, I would look at adding leagues that are similar in stature to the ones you are in, maybe 1 1/2 - 2 * leagues. Coming from a 1* league, you won't be on the radar of any of the big leagues.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Welp.
Season Two in the books. Looks like I am going to be staying Semi-Pro for my third season as well. Lost most of my starting players and downgraded at a few positions... but managed to stay up in the Skrill Premier. Almost got a playoff spot, but the wheels fell off the bus at the end of the season as you can see.
Spoiler
Here's how the final table played out.
Spoiler
I don't seem to have any issues with players sticking around or anything, so I think I'm gonna make The Skrill Premier my home for a couple years and work on building a solid young team to ride out for a while. I had 4 players on Youth Contracts get a lot of playing time this year.badComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm through to the CL group stages. Not as comfortable an affair as I would have liked, but I managed to get through without playing a single starter in either leg.
Edit: Hilariously, the board was extremely disappointed that I sold Park Chu-Young. They must not have paid attention to his Arsenal tenure.
And not so hilariously, I drew Napoli, Marseille, and Zenit in the CL group stages. Not an easy group.Last edited by rsnomar05; 11-09-2013, 03:24 AM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
HOLY HELL I just ran into a scheduling bug. A Sunday match in the EPL vs. Crystal Palace followed by a Tuesday match in the CL vs. Napoli followed by a Thursday match in the COC vs. Wolves followed by a Saturday match in the EPL vs. Liverpool. My team is going to be dead after that stretch. And then I have a Wednesday EPL game the next week followed by a Saturday game....wow.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So I somehow accidentally ended up on the leaderboards on FM and found something interesting that may keep me in Hong Kong.
Both Single Season in Nation and Division are the same points and I sit 4th for most points (manager points?). I'm targetting that top spot!Comment
