    Spoiler

Points in the league (I think I finished slightly over 100) + smashing Arsenal's Invincibles record
    Spoiler

Winning EPL, one of the domestic cups (can't remember), UCL, dominating the Champions League Dream Team and only losing TWICE the whole year (knocked out off one of the domestic cups; lost a meaningless group stage match in UCL)
    Spoiler
Once a major tournament are over (WC, Euros, etc.) go to job center page and apply.

Time for Euro 2024, first time qualifying in this tournament for Slovakia.

    Albania - 30th
    Belgium - 1st
    Holland - 13th
    Slovakia - 23rd

Beat Belgium and Holland in the 1st two games of the group stage and qualified for 2nd round and drew.....Spain.

Good looking out. Can I lobby for jobs that are filled?

You can declare interest in club jobs which are insecure and higher, but I don't think you can with International jobs. It's just being patient and waiting for something to come along. Mostly it's around June/July of an even year when jobs open up.

Even that's not a guarantee though. I've seen some managers stay on for over 10 years, and some 15 years.

International managers are very secure unless they really fall below expectations or they get old and retire. Something to change for FM15 perhaps....

              Depends what you fancy:
              • a 'small club to big club challenge' in England, rest of Europe, Asia, South America, or North America (take a look at the SI forums if you want to see them in detail)
              • take a tiny team in a tiny league to Champions League glory (like San Marino, Gibraltar, Andorra, Luxembourg, etc.) and/or international glory
              • unemployed career game?
              • youth only challenge where you rely on only youth players from your own system. You are not allowed to sign any players.

Sadly these encompass most of the save files I already have done.

Do you like managing newgens or real players? I have a save in the 2033/34 season if you are interested...

If you're into the newgen thing, check some FM fansites for saves in the future (something like English leagues in 2100 for example).

I haven't used someone else's database, but my save previous to this one I simmed to 2030 and did a regen save. Do you know offhand if these databases are doctored at all, taken care of or otherwise? I do notice that without stopping every now and then you can get some bad results. I'll check some out either way to see if there's anything that catches my eye.

Right now I'm debating do a db edit project, but by the time I finish the db, FM15 will be out.

These saves are never doctored. Most just sim and leave it alone. My save uses the default January transfer DB and I've never doctored it. There's 190k players though (loaded every default league bar the Indonesian 3rd div because I forgot to load it). Not sure if your CPU is up to the task for that.

If you're a liverpool fan, then I guess you can say my save is screwed up, because they have been flirting with relegation since 2027!

If you're a US lower leagues soccer fan, there's a db edit on fmnorthamerica with MLS, NASL, USL-Pro, and PDL.

There's an awful lot of custom DBs on several FM sites as well as Steam Workshop so just have a look in those places. But if you want something specific I can probably help guide you to it.

But after big international tournaments I usually see a huge swath of firings from the big nations. And if your prestige is high enough, nations will actually offer you jobs. But that's usually the only time I see national team openings from the elite nations, so you definitely have to be patient.

It's nice and all if it's a big nation. But I usually like managing small nations in hopes of getting them to the World Cup (like Canada and China). They never sack their national team managers. And the one time they did, they chose another manager.

I'm probably going to wait until FM 15 goes on sale, which will probably take a couple months, so I just fired up a save with Bolton, in the Championship.

I failed with St. Pauli in Germany, my first foray into a lower league team, so hopefully I can get Bolton promoted into the EPL. Apparently Bolton has a lot of debt, and not aa great financial situation, so I'm going to really start looking for diamonds in the rough in the youth ranks.

Just use GMG vouchers if you want to get it cheaper.

                                I pre-ordered FM15 for $40 from there.
