Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
My assistant manager is the best you guys. He just told me, he THINKS my star midfield player (who is our captain) would be interested in mutually terminating his contract with the team. The guy who just literally signed an extension a two days ago for two more years. Time to replace you good sir. You have run your course.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So we ended up having the biggest overachieved possible outcome to wrap up the season. In January I ended up selling some key players to get money for the club. I didn't want to, but I had to in order to no be in a complete financial bind the next season (projected to be over a 1m in the red). I then ended up loaning in, on free wages from our partner club Sheff Wed, pretty much half a damn squad. A forward, 4 mids and 3 defenders. Sheff Wed has been in the BPL for two seasons now. They have a very strong large squad. They finished 11th last season, and 9th this season.
So in doing that, I was then able to blow expectations out of the water and do this:
I couldn't believe all the games we started winning after making those loans. We lost 7 of our 12 before January. We stated off strong, and then started faltering to the top teams, and were in 10th. And then just took off and never looked back after that. We gained promotion with 5 games to go. And didn't win the title until the last day. We were only 2 points up on second. We won, they lost. I didn't think we would actually do it.
This all seemed great while happening. But now I am in an even worse position. I really backed myself into a corner here, and the game then decided to plaster over me and make part of the wall. I lost all those key players when their loans expired. I do not have a squad who can handle League 1. And my budget for the year was worse than last years. So I have to try and find a couple good additions, and hope to get a lot of loans from Sheff Wed again. Even though they started selling some players off and wont have as many to loan out.
And then one week into the transfer window there are talks of us being taken over by a supporters trust. And the board lock my funds. I can't do jack. Can't even sign a free agent. Can't upgrade my staff. Nothing. Fantastic. Lovely.
A month of this goes by, the take over happens. I keep my job. But they are NOT injecting any money into the club! WHAT! So this take over costs me players I could have signed, and now you aren't giving me more money. This is great. I now have to scramble to get the best players I can in the last month of the window.
Oh you want to have a sit down and tell me what is expected of us this season. Finish mid table, are you out of your damn minds! We will be lucky to survive a relegation battle. Oh you don't think extending my contact is a good idea because I don't agree. **** you. What, you want me to start turning a profit? The club is over 5M in debt because the old board bought the stadium. How can I possible do that?
This is ****ed. I am pissed. I guess I'll start keeping an eye on the open jobs this season. I've done a lot for this club in four years. And this take over is going to undo all that progress.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
We've had a pretty decent season so far, won the worthless Capital One Cup for the third time, in which I played ONE Premier League team, and it was Norwich City. We were 2nd for most of the year until February when Chelsea slipped up, we took over the top spot, we've made it to the Champion's League Semi-Final, where we play a very beatable Manchester United, Bamford is leading the line, and the charge. Henri Lansbury is still the heartbeat of this team though, he's slipped since last year but the dude is great, and then, as we come up on the final days of the year...
I feel so bad for the guy, he was my star player in the Championship, he was integral to the team staying up for the two crucial seasons to get money, he's played all over the midfield with at least 10 different midfield partners, he learned and excelled as an attacking midfielder. I feel deflated, team morale also crashed, we have to try and figure out how to finish the season.
Remaining fixtures:
@Manchester United(UCL)
@Wolves(EPL)
Manchester United(UCL)
Liverpool(EPL)
@Arsenal(EPL)
we're currently 8 points clear, so we should be good for the year.Support Local Sports

A minimalistic inspired FM16 skin for managers who believe that the beauty lies in simplicity and details while content is still king. By Emil Debski.
This one is also nice, very similar to the one above. I switch to this one if I am playing on my office PC, as the monitor is so big I need zoom:

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well, I'm stubborn so it took me until game 31 to change my tactics. Changed it to a diamond and have only allowed 1 goal in 4 games, and that was a penalty. Just beat Lens and Clermont in back to back games for 2nd time this year.
I might actually survive.
Edit: I had a 2-0 lead against league leaders, Monaco. Blew that 2-0 lead and lost in the 93rd minute on a set play.Last edited by Kobalt; 01-26-2016, 01:25 AM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
A little more than halfway through, and we're right up there at the top. Pretty happy with how we're playing. Near the top of the league in goals scored, and the best defensive team in the league.
Kind of an oddity, though: Liverpool sitting in the relegation zone (a year after Everton were relegated). 13 goals in 21 matches, and only 20 allowed. So apparently they're parking the bus and trying to win every game 1-0, haha.

Klopp lasted a year before he resigned when the Germany NT job opened up. Then, coincidentally, Low went to Liverpool to fill Klopp's vacancy. Liverpool sacked him about a month ago, and hired something called Leonardo Jardim from Monaco to replace him.
I'm kinda hoping they get relegated and Everton stay down, for the sole reason that I think it'd be funny to see the Merseyside Derby in the Championship.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well we've moved to Brian Clough Park, I assume it's official name is something Peter Taylor Field at Brian Clough Park, I'd just be happy to take the North Stand, or even the street name.
In other news Nottm Forest 2(aka PSG) got owned by Financial Fair Play
Also Spurs managed to go into administration a couple years back, now they're going to be playing their first season in League 2.Last edited by Suntan Superman; 01-26-2016, 02:53 AM.Support Local Sports
