Get a parent club. When I played with Paris FC, I took the best players Monaco's youth and reserves on loan and it helped A TON. Now in Ireland I got Brann from Norway as a parent. They gave me four players which are 10x better than any of my old players. And it's completely free, you even get a yearly fee for being a feeder club.
And, if I remember correctly, don't parent clubs come and play a friendly and let you keep all the gate receipts?

I seem to remember that in my Oxford United save in FM15. I believe Swansea was my parent club, and it was always a nice little financial boost when I scheduled a friendly with them

Some do, some don't, depends on the arrangement between clubs. But it's definitely a great way to get some extra profit.

Yeah, parent clubs can be huge. Too bad for me the Strasbourg board have repeatedly rejected my requests for parent clubs or anything that would allow me to improve the squad.

Without me noticing, the board just gave me Nice as my parent club and I get 0 income from it and their players available for loan are terrible. My board won't find me another parent club so I'm stuck with them. So I usually rely on other teams for loan.

Same thing happened to me, took me three requests to finally get a parent club.

Conversely if you're at a big club and want to loan out your youngsters reliably, feeder clubs are great.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Made to the end of the season. The streak made it to 15 matches, but then FM struck and decided to balance things out. Still managed to come in 2nd behind Oxford (who ran away with the league) and gain promotion. I think this is the first time I've managed to gain promotion in FM without having to deal with the playoff.

Now with the offseason here, I can organize my club properly. Need to get a whole new back four, as the full backs were both loans and my centerbacks are both up there in age and weren't getting the job done (we were 3rd from last in goals allowed). Also might look to try and grab Harrison permanently from Spurs if it doesn't break the bank.

Good thing is that my midfield is pretty much set, led by former Newcastle winger Ryan Donaldson who won POY.

                    EDIT:

                    Meanwhile in the top flights

-Arsenal won the EPL over Chelsea. Liverpool and Man U rounded out the CL spots, while City and Spurs are going to the EL. Southampton won the FA Cup and United won the League Cup. Sunderland, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are going down while Burnley, Hull, and Wolves are coming up.

-Barca topped Real on GD as they ran away from everyone else (Atletico was 3rd w/ 78 pts while the top 2 had 95).

-Bayern won the Bundesliga, the sky is blue, water is wet.

-Juventus won Serie A, the sky is blue, water is wet.

-PSG wo....wait, Monaco won Ligue 1. Well I'll be damned.

-Bayern beat Real in the CL Final, Man U beat Spurs in the EL Final.

Copa America and the Euro Championships are going on right now, I'll do another edit after those

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I started my season with a 3-2 victory over promoted Preston followed by a very slim 1-0 win over Doncaster in the Capital One Cup where my players just couldn't buy a goal despite the huge amounts of possession I had. My next match was against Bolton at home where I again squeaked by with a 1-0 victory. Kike and Nugent were not getting the job done and I was already on the hunt scouting for a new striker to buy in January.

Then, it was 3rd place Boro (me) against a pretty good team in Derby (2nd) and well, my tactics worked and the goals finally came

I'll probably start a dynasty thread as well, but yeah, I'm pretty stoked about this team. A nice mix of ex Premier League vets and some good young players. Callum Cook, an 18-year-old midfielder has posted match ratings of 8.3 and 9.1 in 2 games against decent opposition. Kalas, on loan from Chelsea, has been great and I'm hoping I can try and sign him too.

Jonathan Woodgate, in spite of his lack of pace, has been alright.

                          SEASON 3 (2017)

Season three is in the books and we are officially a force to be reckoned with in Irish football! Even though we still haven't won a single trophy, the club is definitely on the rise and we'll be playing European football next year!

It was a very active transfer period, both selling and buying over 100k worth of players. Our big sale was Ryan Swan, an extremely talented striker who just didn't play up to his attributes. Getting 50k for him was perfectly fine in my opinion. The biggest signings were Rory Holden (ST) and Marty Waters (AML) who were paid a total of 115k, but repaid my faith in them by leading the team in goals and assists. We got lucky by getting Brann from Norway as our parent club. They sent u four players who all played important very important roles for us this season.

Our goal for the season was a top 3 finish, and we managed to do it! In the end we finished second, four points behind Galway who won the title three years in a row. Our defense played much better than last year, while the offense remained potent enough to keep up with the best teams in the league.

We didn't manage to win any of the three cups which was disappointing but nothing unusual for us.

Getting 55k from the parent club deal helped keep the finances stable. I expect a big financial boost next year when we hopefully get pas one or two qualifying rounds in the Europa League.

Here's the best player from this season.
