Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Lost my first save last night. I had turned auto saves off because I got tired of the long save every 15 minutes. Mistake. I have an older version from over a year prior in game, but I don't feel like replaying that much.
So I'm going to load up my very first save and resign from that job. Then see what happens from there. Maybe try my first national job.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Hey guys, tried taking a screenshot of my game by Print Screening and it just keeps taking a screen shot of my desktop underneath the game, any idea how to change that?
Either way, I watch the full match so it's taking me longer to do my stuff (I've tried doing different levels of highlights and just feel like I'm missing so much when the game starts fast forwarding)...but I've played 3 league games and 1 cup game with my created team South Coast Rangers and am 3-1-0 in the lowest level of English Football (Mid Sussex Level 10)...
The weirdest thing is that since it's an amateur club, all my players are available on free transfers and I can get anyone that wants to come to my team. It's a bit nervewracking because since the end of the first transfer window I've lost my best Striker (and captain), and my starting LB. Luckily guys are joining my team that are pretty solid but I just want my team to be stable!Teams:

Yeah, I use the F12 method.
On my laptop it's Fn+F12. A little popup comes in the bottom right corner of the screen telling you the screenshot was saved.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm having a serious issue with too much talent at too few positions. I'm deep on both wings, and at striker, I have decent depth up the middle, but my youth system has produced one good centreback, and Jamal Lascelles is 28 and probably should've been replaced ages ago, but I'm stubborn, and he's HG/HG which is a huge bonus for the UCL. Have two good leftbacks, then absolute nothing, one good right back, a decent young backup, then a 17 year old that's 3-4 years away, then nothing. GK is just a weird position for me at Forest. Augusto Batala is the longest serving GK since I started 7 years ago, Dragowski isn't developing well, and I've not really got much behind them. Maybe I'll just end up playing a 2-5-3, see how it goes. shrugSupport Local Sports

Hahahaha, literally just got home from Happy Hour, and was thinking, "should I play FM? ....... Nah, I don't want to get sucked in and play for like 3 hours"
Was browsing on my laptop for about 5 minutes and noticed the FM logo on my taskbar. I never closed it from last night.
WELP. Guess I'm playing FM tonight.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

So I took the Canada job right before the 2022 world cup. Which was moved to Canada. Didn't even make it out of the group stage. Lost to Uruguay 5-0 on opening day. Then lost to Costa Rica 2-1. We were already eliminated at this point. But just for good measure we lost to South Korea 3-1. After the game I stepped down. I couldn't live with the shame. But also holy crap what a bunch of terrible players in their pool.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well with the winter update here, it's time for my next save. I'll have a post up later today about a save idea I have but I want some input on it.
First though I'm gonna very quickly recap the save I finished about 3 weeks ago. I've been taking a much needed fm break and playing Europa universalis 4 while I waited for the update.
I decided to do a Rangers save as it was the first save I ever did, back on fm13. I got promotion in season 1, which obviously shouldn't be a surprise. First season in the Prem went very well and I finished 2nd, although Celtic ran away from everyone and won by over 20 points, if memory serves. Prem year 2 we were able to keep Celtic within shouting distance but still finished 2nd, there was a 10 or so point gap to 3rd though. Season 3 we broke through and won the league by 3 points. The next 4 years Celtic and Rangers split titles at 2 apiece. From that point on, Rangers won 12 straight league titles and almost every season had at least an 8-12 point gap between us and Celtic. I'm 20+ years in with 15 titles. Going into the last season I played, the farthest we had gone in the champions league was 2 quarter finals, both against spurs. The last season though, incredibly, we won the league, league cup, the Scottish Cup(name escapes me) and the champions league over Man UNITED!
Oh we also won the Europa league one of those years too.
That's pretty much why I stopped playing, what else could I do with Rangers? If anyone is wondering, the Scottish league is up to 7th in Europe and the Scottish Cup is the 3rd highest rep Cup.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
OK so new save idea.
Awaken giants.
The idea is that this will be a journey man save where I go from fallen giant to fallen giant and bring them back to the top of their game.
I'm gonna focus more on the league they play in, and not in Europe. The endgoal is not winning the champions league with each team. The rules are that I am not allowed to leave a team unless I have won at least 2 league titles and the nation's top Cup competition at least once.
Not a set rule but I would prefer to not move within the same nation, although I may go back to that nation later on after managing abroad. I also won't be taking on a team that isn't in the nation's top flight, so teams like forest are out unless the AI gets them to the premier league.
Teams to start with - I've narrowed it down to the 2 Milan's. Inter vs ac Milan. Who should I start with? Also name some other teams that I should consider moving too should the job open up?Comment
