After getting to Liga Adelante on the back of loan stars, I managed to sign a few people, including two incredible free transfers, Mikel Arteta joins my midfield fresh off his release from Dinamo, and somehow Maximiliano Romero from Argentina is my new striker. I don't know why he signed with me when Barca were also rumored to be interested, but.... here we are... Into October and we've gotten to the top half of the Liga Adelante table. I might try and push the finances for promotion or promotion playoffs in January.

It's not a virus, just a false positive.
Edit: Here's a thread on the official forums, it's from last year but it's all the same.

Just blasted Forfar Athletic 5-1 and their manager has this say...
"I don't think Rangers are as good as people say they are. On any other night, we could've beat them."
Well, I guess there is some truth to that last sentence.Comment

Just gave Scunthorpe their first win of the season, in game 21.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
When do people ever use the "Cautious" team talks? Honestly, I hardly use anything aside from "Assertive
any time, "Aggressive" when we are losing, and "Passionate" when we're winning. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I never even use Passionate. I'm always assertive...except when my boys need the hairdryer treatment.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I use the cautious tone when talking about complacency. Its the only time I use it. And it seems to work well. If you use assertive for that it can upset certain players depending on their personality type. But it seems to fire up everyone when you use cautious for it.
However the only one I haven't found a good use for is Reluctant. Anytime I want to say any of those options I just use calm.

Yeah, reluctant has always been a head scratcher for me. I have no idea why as a manager you'd want to appear reluctant.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

I use reluctant when it comes to the end of the season, for whatever reason the team performs better if I don't believe they can close it out.Support Local Sports

Not playing much? The last time a player played that poorly for me I cut him and unceremoniously retired his number so no one would have to live with the embarrassment of sharing it again. You're far more patient than I am.Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Decided to go with Brazil for my first Hero attempt. Was surprised to see that the lowest level in the game (3rd) has a TV deal. And all teams are professional. So its not a super big struggle to get in good talent from being semi-pro at that level. Teams are making just over 4M a season from the TV deal. But on the flip side, everyone else is just as good. So it could end being a struggle.
Went with POR. Was able to sign 6 players who were better than anyone else on the team on frees. And still have a bunch of money left over. But I'm happy with the squad for now. Longest pre season I've ever done. Haven't even play a game yet.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Told my GF yesterday the "marriage breaker game" is coming back out of the box! After skipping the last 2 versions of the game I bought FM 16 for $20. Started last night around 9 a career with Atlético Madrid (knew it was bad idea to start that late) and didn't finish till 1ish.
Now have spent half my work today working through coach and scouting reports. I'm back on the saddle! lol
So it begins...Comment
