How you liking FM so far?
I love it! Gives me the depth in a career mode that I always wanted in FIFA. I'm in the same boat as you now in that I am debating not buying FIFA at all this year as a result.

When you go down a man, come back to tie the game twice, and win in the 87' with your new £40M summer signing over the hated Sp*rs. Oh, and it was for a piece of silverware (albeit just the Comm Shield)...

Just got through the January window with Eastleigh in League 2 and I am sitting in first in the league. DJ Buffonge, my best player, just got plucked away by Brighton who came in and met his release clause of £600,000 (he's valued at £145,000) after I played hardball and refused to budge off the release clause amount when they opened the bidding at £150,000.

Not a bad piece of business considering I signed him on a free after United released him at the end of the first season. It completely solved my financial issues as well and we are sitting a healthy positive number in the finances now and I was able to start up my badges again.

Leaves a big hole to fill on my left wing though, but hopefully I will have enough to finish off the second half of the season.

DJ is really good, I often sign him and sell him at lower league level. He never makes it when he leaves though.

                  Year 6

The 2021 season would go down as a very frustrating season. We managed it to get into the promotion playoffs, but it seemed like our performance levels dipped. A few individuals saw their performance levels dip. Ultimately for me, it's going to go down for me as a season of missed opportunities.

A roller coaster season for sure. Start out winning our first four matches. Then go winless for four matches. Another part in the season where we won five matches in a row. Then went winless for five matches. A match where we outshoot the opponent 24-1 and lose 0-1. Much like last season, it will be what if. If only a loss or two were a draw, or a draw or two were a win.

Yet, going into the last game of the season, we still had a shot at the title, being two points behind Landskrona BoIS. We needed a win, but also some help. As far as the promotion playoffs, we controlled our own destiny, being two points ahead of three teams. A win and we were in. A draw and we held the tie breaker on two of the three teams. A loss and we could finish as low as 5th. Our opponent for the match would be Kalmar AIK, who were already relegated. I stressed to my guys not to take them lightly. They were playing for pride and could wreck our season.

My guys didn't take them seriously, and we scraped our way to a 2-2 draw. Wouldn't have mattered though. Landskrona won their last match of the season to clinch the title. As for the promotion playoff battle, only one of the three teams we were battling with won their final match, and we held the goal differential tiebreaker on them. We finished with 45 points from 26 matches (13-6-7).

We got drawn with Savedalens IF (13-8-5) and FC Trollhattan (15-7-4). We have played Trollhattan before. We were both relegated back in 2016 from Division I Sodra. We've taken different paths. We've been slowly building back up in Division II. Trollhattan spent two years in Division II, then got promoted back to Division I, then relegated back to Division II. Not too many details on this. The promotion playoffs went exactly like they did last season. A 1-1 draw against Savedalens followed up by a 0-1 loss to Trollhattan in a must win game. To add salt to the wound, Trollhattan would go on to get promoted back up to Division I.

My young team needs to learn to close stuff out.

For the first time in three years, we were invited to the Svenska Cupen. We won our first round match against Division I side Prespa Birlik 1-0, but lost in the second round to Superettan side Vasalunds IF 1-4.

                  Transfers Out
CM Ludvig Schultz (free to Fano) - Had Schultz on a per appearance contract, and Italian side Fano swooped in and offered him a deal I simply couldn't match (I can't match $22k a year). Joined us in 2020 and made 41 league appearances, scored two goals, and registered five assists.

DL Christofer Bengtsson (released) - Joined us in 2018 on a free from FOC Farsta. Made 79 league appearances, registering four assists. Ended up signing with Division 3 BK Derby.

AMC Florent Stagova (released) - Joined us in 2017 on a free from IFK Hasseleholm. Made 93 league appearances, scored 17 goals, registered 10 assists, and was awarded five POTM awards. Still a free agent as of this writing.

                  Transfers In
DL Jesper Holm (free from Jonkopings Sodra IF) - Young fullback began his career with Jonkopings Sodra IF in 2014, but failed to make an appearance. Spent time on loan at BKV Norrtalje and Kvarnby IK, making a combined 54 league appearances, scoring one goal, registering two assists, and was awarded one POTM award. Love his bravery and work rate, but needs to work on his passing.

MC Emil Sjostedt (free from Assyriska IF i Norrkoping) - Midfielder began his career in 2010 with Farjestadens GoIF (Division 4). He joined Kalmar FF (Allsvenskan) in 2011 but failed to make an appearance. In 2014, he joined IFK Berga (Division II), making 38 league appearances, scoring two goals and registering two assists. In 2017, he joined Stenungsunds IF (Division II), making 76 league appearances, scoring five goals, registering six assists, and was awarded three POTM awards. In 2020, he joined Assyriska IF i Norrkoping (Division II), making 20 league appearances and scored two goals. His strength and stamina in midfield make him a decent athlete but does need to work on his crossing.

MC Vincent Pettersson (free from Varmbols FC) - Midfielder began his career in 2014 with Syrianska FC (Superettan) but failed to make an appearance in his three years with the club. In 2017 he joined Torns IF (Division II), making five league appearances. In 2018, he joined Varmbols FC (Division II), making 74 league appearances, scoring three goals, registering nine assists, and was awarded three POTM awards. His speed and first touch are the keys to making him a technical player, but his strength and fitness levels leave some desire.

                  Captain
DR Oscar Vilas Nilsson - Fullback had a down year by his standards last season, making 26 appearances, registering three assists, and awarded three POTM awards (7.15 rating). Was voted the Supporter's Player of the Year for the fourth straight season.

                  Vice Captain
ST Philipe Andersson-Toth - Striker had his worst season for us, making 26 appearances, only scoring two goals, registering six assists, and an average match rating of 6.69. Started coming off the bench later in the season as his poor form continued. The 28-year-old is looking to bounce back in a big way.

                  Key Player
GK Emre Patat - Emre made 24 starts last season, allowing 32 goals (1.33 average) and registered six shutouts. Not as good a year as last season, but the backline also had a down year.

We never scored an away goal. Never even came close to an away win. We also never trailed at home.

And my career at FC Hollviken is over. I completed my course work and earned my Continental Pro License. The very next day, I had two interviews waiting for me. In total, I had four job interviews.

I will be heading to France to take the reigns of Amiens SC, signing a two-year contract worth $85,000 per year. It's more than double what I was making at Hollviken.

Amiens is getting relegated out of Ligue I. They didn't fire their coach. No, he took a job at Nancy, who might get relegated depending on results. Amiens only won one game this year. Ouch.

Amiens is $698k over their payroll budget for the year. But they did turn a profit.

And in my first and only match of the season, I snapped their 36-game winless streak with a 4-1 victory over Tours.

It'll be an interesting makeover for sure.

Two players from Serravalle, San Marino won the Ballon d'Or in back to back years. However, they're not brothers.

Season 3 with Eastleigh is in the books now.

Sat top of the table for almost the entire season, and then in the final month I got blindsided with injuries and suspensions, particularly in my midfield. Struggled over the final 5 games and finished 2nd in the table to Portsmouth but still achieved automatic promotion up to League 1.

I decided to let my contract run out though and Gillingham and Reading came to offer interview opportunities. Turns out Gillingham had just gotten relegated down to League 2, so it would actually be a step backwards to leave Eastleigh and move there. So I basically had all my hopes pinned on Reading and they eventually did come in with a job offer that raised my salary by roughly 5x what Eastleigh were paying me. So now I have taken a big step up to the Championship and I am set for a new challenge with a new club.

Year 1 with Amiens featured an epic collapse down the stretch and we finished 4th.

Year 2...a first round knockout in the French League Cup, a surprising run to the finals of the French Cup, including a 4-2 victory over Lyon in the quarterfinals, a 2-1 victory over Lille in the semis, and a tough 0-2 loss to PSG in the finals.

                                Oh, and this happened....
