These Journeyman saves are so fun, because I think back to where I started, searching the scrap heap of the Czech 2nd division for free transfers who will agree to play for next to nothing. And now I'm fighting off Barcelona for one of my players.

This kid is a beast, banging in goals for me, and he's only 20 years old. He was signed the year before I got to the club as a 17 year old Belgian prospect from the Greek 2nd division. Pretty cool to see what he's grown in to.

He has a 40% (of profit) sell-on clause though, which I'm not to keen on. It would take an offer of at least $40-50m for me to not auto-reject and start thinking about selling him. Luckily for me, he is happy at the club and doesn't seem to want to leave... Yet.

With this 20m+ offer, Ergotelis (the club we bought him from for $400k), stands to make $8.4m

Here they are, still sitting in the Greek 2nd division:

Their entire club is valued at $1.85m. I'm sure they're sitting there screaming "SELL! SELL! SELL!"

My scouts alerted me to this fantastic 19 year old midfielder just before the January window closed. I was surprised he hadn't been snapped up by a big club yet, so I(still at Hertha) made an offer to have him join in the summer.

As you can see by the text underneath his face, Manchester United swooped in shortly after and made an offer I can't compete with. Because, of course, I haven't been screwed over by United in this save enough. Just keep piling it on, please.

What a debut for Jordan Murphy....the striker popped up on my recommendations. I was like, boy this name sounds familiar. Looked at his history, and oh yeah, he was my starting striker in my Worcester save back on FM16. I've got to sign him now, even if I had just played my last friendly. Decided to bring him in for the final 20 minutes in our season opener.

Scores the tying goal, the game-winning goal, and BREAKS HIS BACK!?!?!?

Yup, he suffered a spinal injury in the last minute of stoppage time.

And he will not get paid during his 6-9 months of rehabilitation, because he is on an appearance fee contract.

              Hope you got AFLAC buddy.

Well, after 1.5 years with West Brom I got a big surprise job offer from Juve. Which I took. They haven't won the league in six years. And they haven't qualified for the CL the last two seasons. They are also 112M in the red. Club needs major changes top to bottom. Over paying and spending on wages. 223K a week over wages and spending 3.93M a week. 36 year old backups on 200K a week. Going to be impossible to offload them. And I only have 17M in funds to play with. And no promising youth prospects to call up.

Gonna be a big challenge. Even more so than West Brom.

This guy...THIS GUY, puts in the worst defensive performance of the season, a 5.2!!?? Not acceptable, especially for someone who is first team quality at LB.

So I have a little chat, letting him know this is unacceptable(he's lucky I didn't fine him immediately). Look at this punk's response, just sitting there with that stupid smile on his face the whole time.

"I played well." In what world is a 5.2 rating playing well? Can't wait for summer, good-bye, go "play well" somewhere else.

Oh and I fined him after this chat because I'm a vindictive manager who don't take no attitude from chumps like Philipp Max.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Question on league rep: I loaded up a few custom things (USA pyramid, Worldwide champions league) and a side effect of that is the the 7 USA tiers are ranked 101-107 in CONCACAF. That's fine, those leagues have no history and need to get some.

However, after 2.5 seasons, there's been no increase in reputation, and after the first season all of the USA 1 teams got the logos from their academies or second teams, as they ended up with a worse reputation (due to the low rep of these leagues).

Do you know how long it takes for a new league to up it's rep? Is the coefficient calculated over 5 years?

Also, an unfortunate side effect of my custom DB: Liga MX seems to have stopped playing games. First 2 seasons were fine, now those teams only play friendlies and champions league

No worries though, this is a blast. Getting ready to play Galatassaray (as Seattle) in FIFA Champions League. It'll be a tough one.

My first full season at Hertha is in the books. The club looked almost dead in the water when I took over in the middle of last season, bottom of the table and destined for relegation. After the narrowest of escapes, I was asked by the board to secure a mid-table spot.

                                Here's how we did:
                                Spoiler

A very tight race at the top for the title, but Bayern reclaimed their status as champions after a few years hiatus. Things really came together for me this season, each of my signings had massive impacts on the team and I made it through without any major injuries to my first team players.

I definitely overachieved a bit, but I'm not complaining. It's going to take a lot more to crack the top 5 and enter Europe, though.
