OS isn't resizing, even with the snipping tool, so I guess I'll use Imageshack or Photobucket. Spain tied Algeria 0-0, and Algeria were denied a penalty!!!

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Still play 09, still with QPR, I just started the 2022-2023 season.
I'm coming off my 9th straight Premier League title, but this once came after being down 10 points at midway point of season, and came back to clinch the title with 3 games to go.
What makes it better is that I don't/havent' bought stars anymore, only 15-17 year old youngsters, develop them and watch them become International stars.
Also after a 6 year break from International management, I've taken over at Brazil.Comment

I tied Uruguay 1-1. I led at the half but couldn't hang on.
Here are the standings heading into the third and final game. Destiny is in my hands because if I beat Greece I'm in. Otherwise I have to worry about goal differential and the Japan/Uruguay result. Man this intense.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I am considering starting a Chelsea save....reason being that there actually is a challenge of the transfer ban that SI put into the game. I also lost a bet to my brother, who is a Chelsea fan and as part of the bet, have to declare Chelsea as my favorite team in public
Oh well. Such as lifeComment

Also insane was the final match against Greece. I had the "latest scores" widget and was watching Japan/Uruguay like a hawk.
Greece scored early against me, and Japan gave up a penalty and had a man sent off.
So Japan was down a man and 1-0, and Greece was dominating me, and also up 1-0.
At the end of the first half I got a penalty and tied it, and then in the second half switched to to an attacking/retain possession 4-1-2-1-2 and it worked brilliantly. I scored to take the lead, and then, miraculously, JAPAN TIED IT! And not only that, they held on, as did I, and South Africa has somehow managed to win the group and advance to the next round. Unbelievable. It was so nerve wracking.
Here are the final group standings.
I am surprised the US qualified and that Ghana finished on top of their group.
I have drawn Slovenia in the next round which should be a tough game, but the draw could have been much worse.Comment

joke you might, but Munster offered me a job baby. Third division in Germany. I declined because I'm in the Champions League.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Nice to see an FM thread here, I haven't played much since 06 but FM10 has made me fall back in love with the series.
Im playing as my team, Bristol City. Quick rundown on what I have done so far:
Season 1: Finished 3rd in Championship with 81 points (Lost in Play-off Final to West Brom 2-1).
Season 2: Finished 3rd in the Championship with 95 points (Won Play-off Final 4-1 over Birmingham) - Promoted to Premiership.
Season 3: Finished 19th in Premiership with 24 points - Relegated back to Championship.
Season 4: Finished 5th in Championship with 81 points (Won Play-off Final 2-1 over Nottm Forest - Promoted back to Premiership.
As you can see, a good Championship team but a poor Premier League team. I'm just getting set to embark on my fifth season with City and i'm just hoping I can survive!Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Not trying to hijack the thread, but I do have an FM question? I can't seem to figure out how to scout the combine for MLS. Once the draft list appears, my scouts seem to get players in their assignments to scout, but then it says scouting games 1-100, and by the time the draft rolls around I have no players scouted. Am I missing something there, or maybe an easier way to scout, maybe a way to assign scouts to the 4 combine teams? Thanks for any help you guys can give.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I started my Chelsea save. With the game already having a transfer embargo on the club, you only have the first window to buy players before it slams shut for the next 2 windows.
I focused on improving for now and the future so I stuck to prospects and young talents:
Aguero
Otamendi
Gourcuff
Kroos
Van der Vaart
Rodwell
Ashley Young
And some prospects. Let's see what happensI wanted to build using primarily English Players because of the new homegrown rules coming in next season for the Prem

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Agreed. Im interested in your game time.
Quick update on my career:
Crystal Palace fell apart. We got relegated from the Championship, and then were favored to win the League 1. Since many of my players left, however, I had to bring in lots of guys on frees. This resulted in the team not gelling, and a very poor performance. I got the boot (I was nearing resigning anyway, it was THAT bad) about 8 games into the season.
So...unemployment again. Then, Q.P.R. comes along. They actually have some money, loyal players, and are in the Championship. I ink a 3 year deal.
QPR has treated me well. I think we were 20th when I started, 15th now. 8 points separate me from a playoff spot, about halfway through the season. I'm aiming for a top half finish this year, and a promotion next year. I think this team has the skill to do it.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
GT is 13 days and 8 hours. In 08 I had a save that neared a month's time, actual playing time, none of this leaving it in the background all day while I do others stuff...
Addictiveness is, " I think I should include FM on my resume."Comment
