So I didn’t end up getting a permit for the guy, and I couldn’t get a loan deal for the year, so now I have a 19 t/o CB with 4.5 star potential sitting out a year.

In good news, I turned Watford’s -5 million bank balance into 65 million through player sales.

In true FM fashion, blew a 1-0 lead at home to Chelsea and lost 2-1 in the season opener.

Going down after a 3 year stay in the top flight, I probably needed this to completely revamp the tactic.

Team is almost all homegrown. However, lost one of my better regen because of a low relegation clause

Club in financial peril, thanks to my attempt to get us to the Championship in the first half of the season. Finances were so bad in January I had to sell off players just to make it through the year without being horribly in debt and risking administration.

Good news is, our first half was good enough that we still managed to get the League One title with two games in hand.

        EDIT:

No one asked, but I've actually really enjoyed doing training set-ups for the team, it's been an interesting experience, and balancing everything has been a surprisingly delightful chore. That all said, with promotion I wanted to have a longer pre-season, and that wasn't possible so I decided to do some very intense pre-season training. I'm excited for the team to hate me by the 1st game.

Note, I haven't looked at any training guides, or really sought out any help in this regard, so I'm most likely not optimizing it, but I'll worry about that when my job security is threatened.

I just downloaded a ball pack from sortitoutsi. I’ll give my reviews in a bit after I play a few games.

I can definitely tell the difference on the pitch with the ball, as small as a difference as it might seem.

How does everyone have their backroom set up in regards to coaches?

You/AssMan/Fitness/Coach/GK. Im still struggling to find the right balance here at Watford.

Can someone with more knowledge than I have, give me some insight as to why I'm expected to start losing money?

I don't know why they think I'm going to be losing money? Transfer business is on point...just sent Kolasinac to China for £35M--to join Elneny lol.

In two seasons in charge, I have revamped the squad and spent a net of £12M! Here is my "A" team...

The projection never includes outgoing transfer money, nor does it take into consideration "extra money"

Most of the time the projection is worthless for clubs that are also using operational debt.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think there is a league like that in the game which has such a wage gap from top to bottom.

What are you using as tactics?

In League One I used a 4-4-2 wing play tactic, but instead of sending in crosses, we did our best to work the ball into the box to Tyreece John-Jules, or whomever else was in the box.

Since moving up to the championship, I've retained the focus on the wings, but I switched to a direct counter attack approach. So far it's yielded nice results after a torrid first two games.

Still in the Europe hunt at the halfway point. I revamped my defense a little bit in the summer window, signing Ryan Sessegnon to play LWB, Pavard to play RB, and a 34 year old Otamendi for depth while my younger center backs continue to improve. Assane Diousse has been a revelation for me and has been an incredible defensive midfielder, but I'm afraid I won't get past deadline day with him on my squad because stupid Chelsea won't let me have nice things.

I've taken an FM break. Someone introduced me to Football, Tactics & Glory. And I've fallen into it pretty hard. Its a turn based strategy game. Its $20 on steam. I love turn based strategy games, so if you don't this probably isn't something you should check out. There is a demo on steam however which lets you play the first full season of 14 games. So maybe give it a go?

And I think I'm done with this. LOL

We came crashing back to reality in January, finishing 12th, our attendances finally started coming back to life as well as we got up to 9k for most of our home matches which has thankfully stabilized our finances after two..... less than optimal years.
