Overhauling my squad for season 2 at Albion Rovers, spent a lot of this past season trialing in players as scouting is super limited. So...many...trials, only to find out 90% of these guys are straight garbage.

Scotland is tough, I found Northern Ireland to be easier than this when I managed there a few years ago. The player pool is not very deep, you either have players who are good enough to play in the Prem or players who would be lucky to be a backup in League 2. Not much middle ground like you see in England or Spain where some of that middling talent can be scooped up by lower sides(obviously Scotland is much smaller than those countries, but I need to complain). I'm banking on some loans going through to get this team where I want it.

Also, my board decided to listen to me and get an affiliate, so I've got Falkirk as a parent and will get to loan in players for free. It's a step in the right direction.

Finally got Forest back to the Champions League. Thankfully my last four matches were against West Ham/Fulham/Burnley/Southampton, and I was able to win all of them while I got a bit of luck in the form of both Arsenal and Liverpool dropping points late in the season.

Leicester won the Europa League and Liverpool beat Chelsea in the Champions League final, so we have six EPL teams representing next year.

Also my board sold my starting GK for some reason.

First regular season as Truro City finished! We were projected as the 19th best team preseason...think we did pretty well.

Kinda don't want to go up through the playoffs, as I'm not sure we're anywhere near good enough talent wise to not go right back down. But, we shall see what happens. Maybe it would convince some of my better players to re-sign, because currently they have no interest (including my striker Louis Rooney who leads the league in goals, as you can see above).

My defense is horrific though, so that's a place to look at in the offseason, plus better wingers/depth...as I'm running a strange system this year.

            EDIT

            Welp

Not only has my start been bad....but it's been the most frustrating start I've experienced. I've blown 3 games in late stoppage time (2 for draws, 1 for a loss). I've had halftime leads in most games and only won once (and that win was a 3 goal comeback late).

Almost no one was interested in joining my team in the offseason due to financial reasons. I'm struggling. My team isn't bad, but it sure isn't playing well.

ALSO: Has anyone been seeing this? I'm giving up an obscene amount of long shot crazy goals. It feels like almost every goal I give up is from outside the box between 3 defenders and just barely by my goalie. I'm in VNS, I feel like this shouldn't be happening.

                Yes, I'm still on FM18.

Yes, I've ended up with another Rangers save.

Yes, I'm in a title fight with Celtic.

Both of Celtic's losses are to me at Ibrox. I have a loss to Celtic at Celtic Park and then an inexplicable loss to St. Johnstone.

Update: F*** Hearts. Celtic drops their first game to Hibernian, but then I lose to Hearts and then lose at Celtic. Go into the final match and I blast Hibs 5-1. All I need is Hearts to get a draw or win. They lose 3-1, and hell, they score two goals for Celtic.

It's like they placed bets on who wins the league title.

After taking two weeks off of Football Manager to win a bet, I'm finally back, and it feels like it's a brand new game.

I did have that feeling when I loaded up my last save that I just had no idea where I was or what I was doing, so we're taking it a bit slow re-introducing myself to the squad.

EDIT: That didn't last long, on to a new save!

Started a new save next to my Journeyman one , managing Maidenhead down in the Vanarama National league. Most of the teams are Pro while mine is Semi-Pro, how do I make my team Professional? Do I save up money or something?

You first have to have the money. I can't remember if its 500K or 1M. I think this depends on the board maybe. Then the board has to agree to do it. There are a few factors if they will agree to this. Wages, fan support, the boards ambition, your determination and a few others I think. Also getting promoted to League 2 will auto turn you professional if they refuse to let you at that level.

                                here's a relative noob question

Is it possible to create a new team that is filled with entirely created players? I started to create my Camelot Dragons (which I think I last had on Fifa 04?), naming the stadium and picking the colors etc, but when I started to add created players I'm basically over writing players from the team I'm replacing and have had a heck of a time in editing skill attributes. Basically I'd like to be able to go to a drawing board, create the team, create the players and then just plop that into an existing low league/non-league structure replacing a club and go from there. Any help or pointing to a post that answers is appreciated.
