I blew my top. We were drawing Villa until the 88th minute when my defense made a lapse in judgment in the box and passe the ball right to the Villa Scorer.

Villa then scored 2 minutes later, making the final 0-2.

Maybe my anger will show the team I'm very passionate about winning. It can't get any worse.

          Bolton 0, Portsmouth 0
Guess my ripping of the team after the Villa loss worked. Glad to take a point here.

          Portsmouth 1, Everton 3
Was down 0-2 when the counter finally worked for one. Thought maybe this one was going well until we conceded a penalty.

          Table March 1st, 2010
          17. Bolton 26 pts
          -----------------
          18. Hull 26 pts
          19. Burnley 21 pts
          20. Portsmouth 13 pts

Currently 15th after 24 games. On top of a four team tie

The next game against Birmingham is a crucial one.

              EDIT:

              Bolton 1-0 Birmingham

13th right now, and although I'm not convinced we will remain in this position, I am convinced that we will stay up this year.

Comeback win against a Fulham squad whom we had beaten three days prior to put is into the quarterfinals of the FA cup.

And now we have a choice...Nigeria...or Ghana? *Chose Nigeria*

We're already in the world cup, here's our group. Ghana wasn't, which made my choice an easy one.

After announcing a link with AC Milan at the beginning of the season, Birmingham have now announced a link with Arsenal. Who do they send to us immediately? Jack Wilshire. I'm currently sitting in 8th place in the CCC right at the beginning of the January window, but am undefeated in my last 7 league games and look like I should be heading for a top 6 finish (hopefully). I didn't really need Wilshire, but hey, it can't hurt. Considering my team is in terrible financial trouble (not my fault as I'm 100k under the wage budget and have about a million in the bank to spend on transfers), I'm not really trying to add anybody to the payroll this transfer window, especially considering the squad's team harmony is in shambles (~40%); a fresh face would do anything but help.

                    Berbatov had a big game.

The Media has already started rumbling the rumors that I might not be around much longer.

My back is against the wall with this club. I just can't get anything to go right.

In my Birmingham save, Newcastle have just gone bankrupt. I was looking at the standings and was wondering why, even with a +40(!) GD, they were sitting in 5th place. They owe $152m (USD) and have had 10 points deducted from their record. If only my team's funds weren't nonexistant and listed as "insecure", I would try to buy some of Newcastle's "studs" on the cheap. Anyone ever seen such another "big" club go under?

                      ---
EDIT: I've had offers of >1m for Jonas, Steven Taylor, and Coloccini all accepted (I have ~1.6m in the bank to spend after selling James O'Shea for 5m), but none of them want to come to lowly Birmingham. Oh well.

Wow - I read on the SI forums that Liverpool, if doing horribly can go into administration a few years in....

I am still working on my Arsenal save - 7 games in and I've scored 31goals and conceeded 3 to lead the league. RVP is on fire as he has 2 straight hat-tricks. I have him set to Target man Support. Eduardo has 9 goals while Bendtner started off slowly.

Walcott is doing well while Arshavin is very good as my wingers. They are keeping Nasri out of my lineup at the moment. I'm planning to let Rosicky's contract run out to leave on a free as he's not needed in my lineup with Wilshere and Merida developing well

I'd like to think that it's possible to happen with ANY club, no matter how large. Because it could happen in real life.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

This may be a simple question to answer, but I don't know how to resolve this issue...

At the end of the first season -- after we were relegated -- Christian Benitez (Chucho as he's affectionately known as by the Blues supporters) requested to be transfer-listed. I obliged. Shortly thereafter, Sao Paulo came in and offered to take him off my hands from August 30th through December 20th on loan for around $2mil with the option to buy him at any point for an additional $11mil (I thought it was a good piece of business for me, as he was unhappy, he wanted to leave, and I had three more than capable young strikers on the bench. Perhaps he would come back happy after the loan spell. Even so, if Sao Paulo wanted to take him keep him for good, I would walk away with a large sum of money for a player valued at only $8mil). A week before he was supposed to return to Birmingham, Sao Paulo offered the agreed $11mil for him, but, luckily for me, Chucho declined the contract. He returned to me just in time to make a playoff/promotion push. After returning, his moral was sky high and wanted nothing more to stay with Birmingham. Here comes the catch: I am unable to remove him from the transfer list, due to the fact he requested to be transfer listed 6 months ago and never left on a transfer. I am also unable to offer him a new contract, because he is "unwilling to discuss signing a new contract while his future at the club remains in the balance". He is making noise about both and could potentially be upsetting other players on the team. What can I do? He is a class player and I would do anything to keep him happy in a BCFC shirt.
