My MacBook Pro can run quite a few leagues too. I have about 123,000 players loaded into the game

I have a ton of leagues running. To the point where the game tells me that it wont work at the league choosing screen. But I ignore it and my computer has no problem running it like that.

Hugo Lloris is absolutely incredible in this game. If you need a keeper and have the funds to sign him I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Well I got sacked from the Brazil job, One game into Copa America.

Lost my starting GK and ST to injuries, 2 days before the tourney began, and couldn't replace them.

Worse was that I only selected two GK and one was 20 year old with no experience at INT. Level.

Lost to Bolivia 2-1, bam, hammer dropped.

Amazingly the US won that tourney, and I was approached to replace the outgoing manager.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

Why would you do that? Gotta have three keepers, always.

Agreed. I signed him for my Arsenal side (Wenger should do the same IRL). I just signed him on my Milan save.

Buffon is also awesome as usual

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I just started my first "real" legit game for FM2010. I picked Spurs.

                  I signed Paulo Henrique ****£15M, Sandro for £14M & Otamendi for £5.5M.

Sandro & Otamendi plan to play a regular role in my 4-2-3-1 lineup.

I went through the entire preseason undefeated without conceding a single goal, and in my first league match I drew arsenal nil-nil at The Lane.

I had 5 shots on goal compared to their 3, but they had the better scoring chances, I really didn't have a single good look at goal the entire match, and only managed to win 3 corners. Sandro picked up MoM in his Lillywhite debut.

I'm pretty enthused about the opening game draw, I was real nervous about how my attacking 4-2-3-1 formation would fair against top class opponents. For whatever reason it really seems to be a rock defensively, but didn't generate the scoring opportunities that it had in the preseason.

I have a plethora of extra strikers now, especially since I'm running with a single striker, so I would like to offload one of Crouch, Keane or Pavluychenko to help cover some of the inbound transfers. The only real interest seems to be in Modric, who I don't want to sell (obviously), but Manu keep coming with some absurd £22M (£3.7 upfront, the balance over 30 months) deal. I keep rejecting the offer, but I pray that my board doesn't step in & force the offer through.

I'd like to sell off Dos santos, but I only get stupid loan offers for him. And Bentley is on my hit list, but I'm not sure how to maximize his value....should I transfer list him?

My first save was with the USMNT, but I was then offered a job with Spurs in the second season. Pavlyuchenko is absurd. Pavlyuchenko was my only good forward (Crouch was OK, Defoe wasn't good at all, and I played Keane as a winger for the most part). Loan out Gio (possibly a loan-to-buy), but just keep in mind he does become a very good player 2-3 years down the line. Modric was already sold when I took over, so I used Kranjcar down the left; both are quite good, although I don't really think you need both. Huddlestone becomes a solid CM/DM. Palacios can be good. As for Bentley, you can do a lot better; maybe you should retrain Kranjcar or Modric to play down the right? Bale becomes a beast down the left (at either LWB, LB, or LM), while Corluka was a first team all EPL RB for me two years running. Gomes is also a very exceptional keeper.

Pavluychenko bagged 5 goals in 5 preseason matches (only 2 starts), but I just can't stand this guy for some reason. If I could get £9-10M for him he'd be gone.

Keane also scored a few in preseason, but Defoe & Crouch only got 1 combined between them.

I plan on playing a advanced MF trio of Krancjar (LW Support), Modric (AMC) & Lennon (RW Attack).....with Henrique subbing in for lesser important matches, and I'm hoping Bostock turns into a Gerrard-like force in 3-4 years.

Dos santos does provide good depth/cover upfront, as he can play anywhere across the front, especially if I can sell off Bentley (who is utterly useless, he's so damn slow he can't ever beat him man to the touch line to knock in crosses).

I love Corluka at RB, but I'm weak & LB until Bale!Bale!Bale! recovers from injury & develops a little bit more. Some cover there would be nice, but BAE is decent in the meantime.

I'm training Palacios as a DMF, so he can play a little bit deeper next to Sandro. Also in the mix as the deep lying MF are Hudd & Jenas, but I would part with their one for the right price.

Dawson & Woodgate both start the season with long-term injuries, so plan on rotating Ledley, Bassong & Otamendi until they are fully fit. Then hopefully I'll have enough cover at CB to sell off Woodgate, assuming he's worth anything. I could never part with Ledley, he's one of my favorite real life Spurs.

Gomes is my rock in net, I don't see the need to even think about another keeper. Cudicini is great cover & Alnwick can develop a bit hopefully.

I would like to sign somemore promising youth players for my u18 academy, but all the good young players I know about seem to cost an arm & a leg. I don't have millions to spend on 17 year olds. I guess that's why I'd like to sell Gio/Bentley & try to buy 6 or 7 young players to develop for the future.

I've never really been able to sell any player for what I think is maximum value, I just don't have that much experience in game with the transfer market. I even feel like I overpaid for both Sandro & Henrique, but I had the funds available & decided to just go for it. I've read that people have landed Otamendi for around £2.5M, but I struggled to bring him in for under £6M (what am I doing wrong?)....

I've revamped my scouting staff significantly & hired a bunch of new coaches, but I'd like to replace Kevin Bond as my assistant manager. He's rubbish. I need to find a good new assman.

Players I'm looking at bringing in usually correspond to real life Spurs transfer targets. Warnock is the LB I'd like to sign, but I'm sure I'd have to overpay for him too.

Well my chelsea run is going well; only one loss against arsenal on the road, in first 10 EPL matches. Also currently still alive in europa and carling cups; with FA cup draw coming soon. I brought my striker from Boca, Mouche, also got dempsey from fulham, which management wasn't happy about, but his rating so far has been around 7.25 and has 6 goals. Also, I finally got a national job offer as the coach of Chile quit, my first two matches are in WCQ playoff against jamiaca. So winning that will get me in 2014 WC. I am #3 in EPL table, top teams is nothing crazy, man u, man city, chelsea, arsenal. Hopefully will keep it rolling. Got a lot of same players on chelsea: lampard, cole, terry, etc. Drogba was already gone from roster.

Don't feel too bad. In my Toulouse save, I bought him at the beginning of my third season and had to pay 15 million.
