Thanks perceptor & bruins, that should help me out a lot.

I'm not sure what difference a good assman has versus someone like Kevin Bond, I just feel like I want to axe that useless dope from my staff & start fresh.

I've hired 3 or 4 new coaches in particular areas of expertise, along with 3 full-time scouts (one specializing in the continent, another for the UK & another with knowledge of Arge, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile etc.). I'm hope they can unearth me some decent youth prospects to sign

About the same just using the dark skin. Also I just drag the window up so it cuts minimize and stuff in half and then also cut the taskbar in half with the window since I can't stand not having a toolbar at the bottom.

I can't win a match to save my life...6 straight draws, at least 3 of them have had my opponent tie it late, including my last match with 22nd place Oldham who not only sucked, but was down a man. I hate this game

Do you sub based on fatigue, match-rating, a mixture of both? And what is the fatigue of the players going into the game?

Often times the late equalizers are due to the players being too tired.

Also, are you changing your tactics when you get a lead? ie. playing control and retain possession instead of attacking and taking risks? You can use the touchline instructions to tell your team to hold onto the ball when you get a lead or counter attack....that helps out a ton

I use the default skin that the game came with. I've tried a few custom skins but they are all far too dark for my liking.

After a hard fought nil-nil draw at home against arsenal I managed to pull off a 1-nil win at home against Blackburn, David Bentley came on for Aaron Lennon in the 63rd minute & scored the winner 3 minutes later (66') on a nice through ball into the box from Palacios that he slotted home near post.

Then I dominated Wigan on the road 3-nil, with goals from Kranjcar (27'), Modric (59') & Pavluychenko (90').

I'm in 3rd place with 7 points after 3 matches. The only real problem I see is lack of goal scoring from my strikers. Out of the 4 goals I've scored in league play 3 have come from my mids. I'm not sure if it's the formation (4-2-3-1), the lack of skill or incorrect settings for my strikers.

When I play Pavluychenko I set him as a target man with ball play to head, with Defoe I use him as a poacher with balls played to feet. Keane I tried as a deep lying forward, but I haven't needed any good results thus far. I don't know if I should just stick with one striker/strategy & hope it rounds into form or if I should keep rotating/subbing/switching up settings......

Right now I usually give my starting Striker a 60-65' run, then sub him out, or if it's Keane I will drop him back to a AMF.

                              RESULTS:
                              H arsenal 0-0 draw
                              H Blackburn 1-nil win (Bentley)
A Wigan 3-nil win (Krancjar, Modric & Pavlyuchenko)
                              A West Ham
                              H Sunderland
                              A Everton
                              H Aston Villa
                              A Man U

Ledley picked up a thigh injury against Wigan, he finished the match but will be out around 2 weeks, so it looks like Otamendi will be thrown in at a CB rotation with Bassong & Corluka. We'll see how that goes.

Typically, in the 4-3-2-1, the lone striker tends to be a larger, target forward type player who can bring the midfielders into the game by holding up the ball and playing with his back to goal. It's typical to see midfielders score their fair share of goals when playing with only one forward. I wouldn't recommend trotting Defoe or Keane out as lone strikers, as they aren't physically strong enough to hold off defenders and be the link man to the attacking midfielders. As for your substitutions, do you think to yourself before the "I'm going to bring out Jermain in the 64' and bring in Pavlychenko", or do you strategically take them out? It seems as though you're playing some of the strikers out of a personal obligation to play them, not because they fit your tactical scheme or the situation in which you play them.
