Thanks. I'm quite proud of the team I built. People will say you're Barca and it's not hard to make them win. I agree, but the fact that I focused on developing youth and signing Spanish youngsters makes it a little more challenging and fun. Jovetic was the exception, but the rest of the players I sign now will be homegrown in Spain or Spanish players. I might get Muniain though for the end of next season....however, he doesn't have the height, physicality, and skill that my lone striker needs...

Assulin, Muniesa, Thiago, and Rochina were my prospects promoted to my B team. With prospects like these, I don't need to spend much other than to build my youth squad with newgens lol

Turkey always seems to produce unbelievable winger/wing back regens in every game I play. They're fast, with ++ technical skills. I always send my scout to Turkey, Brazil, and Argentina first.

My 2nd season at Barca has been a continuation of my last season. I won the Spanish Super Cup over Valladolid and beat Roma in the European Super Cup to retain both trophies.

I started the season in style with 6 wins in 6 games, but lost Ibra to a groin strain. As I sent Rochina to my B team, I thought I'd try Messi as a central striker and this is what happened:

Messi's a freaking beast wherever I play him lol

I am about to start up season 2017/2018 in la liga, Real Madrid here. Also USA coach, just qualified for WC 2018, but did lose to Mexico in Gold Cup. Kind of cool seeing what players are still around professionally and for USA squad.

Got busy schedule coming up(last years results next to each):

                La Liga - finished 4th
                Supercopa - did not play
Champions League - lost in quarters
Europa League - lost in semis
                Spanish Cup - defending champs

Finish WCQ games with USA and friendlies before WC.

                2017 RM Squad:

                GK- Casillas
                DL-Marcelo
                DC-Alexis
                DC-Garay
                DR-Sergio Ramos
                ML-Ronaldo
                MC-Fabregas
                MC-Kaka
                MR-Pato
                ST-Shelvey
                ST-Benzema

That midfield 5 years earlier would of been scary, still solid even though older now.

side note: 3 USA payers on my bench: Bowen, Donovan and Holden.

I'm approaching my first off season soon (1 league match & the FA Cup final left to play).....

Does anybody know the dates regens are added for various nations? I recall reading a post somewhere that listed regen dates, but now I can't locate it.

                    -----

As far as my season progress, one week ago I beat Manu 2-nil to advance to the FA Cup final, and held a 1 point lead in the Prem. The treble was a strong possibility to my overachieving Spurs squad.

Now I'm sitting 1 point back of Manu in the Prem, having to face chelski to end the regular season, then have to face them again in the FA Cup final.

I need Manu to draw or lose, and I need to find a way to beat chelski at stamford bridge to win the title. It's not looking good, as Manu plays relegation side Hull to end their season. I pretty much blew the title with a loss to l'pool & a nil-nil draw against City, both on the road. My final 5 fixtures were brutal, having to face pretty much all the top sides.

And to top things off, Modric sustained a chest injury in training & will be out 9-12 days, meaning he will probably miss both of my remaining matches. Injuries started to pile up of late, leaving my MF a bit thin. I need to offload some strikers & acquire more wingers/attacking MF's for next season.

I need to train Vandervaart as a L or R attacking MF, then I'd have some more versatility. United keeps poking around Aaron Lennon, I hope he doesn't decide he wants to leave in the offseason, he probably has been my top player over the course of the season.

Too bad we are not in a online league together, I tried to get Messi instead of Pato, barca would transfer but messi kept rejecting.

Cannot wait to play them, always fun.

Messi wouldn't go to Real anyway lol. Speaking of Real, I pwned them in La Liga action. Make that 6 wins on the trot against them...

I am already 4 points ahead of them after 9 games and they have played one more game than me. Ibra is back scoring and setting up goals while my team continues to steamroll the competition....

The funny thing about that match was that Casillas was MOTM. I could have scored 7 against them if it weren't for him

So I lost out on the Prem title on the final day of the season. I needed United to lose to West Ham on the road, and I had to at least draw Chelsea at home to end up even on 80 points, and I would have won on GD.

I ended up drawing nil-nil, but United won 2-1 to seal the title. L'pool finished 3rd & City finished 4th. arsenal scum finished on 6th.

Burnley, Pompey & Hull were all relegated.

                            ------------------

I'm not sure what more I can do, I gave it my best shot but in the end some unfortunate injuries (Kranjcar missing the final 2 months with a broken foot & Modric missing my last 3 matches with chest knock picked up in training) cost me dearly.

I don't think I'll be able to attract truly world class players with my second place finish, but CL footy for 2010/11 should allow me to improve my club. I really need to offload my plethora of strikers and obtain a better holding MF to use in a rotation with Palacio & Sandro, Jenas & Hudd just don't cut it.

My defense was solid at times, but I just have so many bodies back there. It was hard to get a regular rotation going. Bassong, Otamendi, Woodgate, Ledley & Dawson all saw action at CB. That's just too many mediocre players, but I won't be able to afford a truly top class CB.

I now need even more depth with CL play lying ahead for next year, which could pose a problem if I can't sell off some of my unneeded parts.

Hutton, if I were you, I'd get rid of any player 29-30 years old. They're probably on high wages anyway and cut-price selling them will get you more money as you'll have more in your wage budget.

Then I'd focus on getting some solid prospects. Otamendi is one, but Muniesa at Barca is another good prospect. See if you can loan him with a reasonable future fee. If you get him tutored by the right guy, he'll develop well

For a holding midfielder, see if you can make a play for Rodwell. He's English for one and is pretty versatile. If you can sign Criseteg from Inter, he's a good prospect too.

As much as I hate Spurs, your core is solid. You should just sell any older player on high wages to get some cash, sign young prospects to bolster your team, and you'll have a solid foundation

Yeah, fortunately Spurs are a fairly young side, so my wage bill isn't crazy, but I'd love to rid myself of Robbie Keane & Peter Crouch's contracts, even if I don't get top transfer dollars for them.

If I could keep Milevsky (best signing ever, I love this kid), Pavy & Defoe I have a solid & versatile strike force. Then I can find a player or two to develop up front.

In MF I'd like to sell on Jenas, he's not 30 yet but I just don't see a place for him. I do like his versatility as a sub, as he can play anywhere in the MF centrally, & I've used him on the right side of MF & as an emergency RB.

In defense I guess the best places for me to save money would be selling Ledley & Woody, both of whom played great when fit. But when fit isn't that often. If I could sell both & bring someone in like Chellini I'd be thrilled, but I find that unlikely.

I'd love to snag Rodwell. Everton turned down the 3 offers I made for him this past January. I will try again to secure him this summer. He'd be a dream signing for me, and would bolster my MF depth quite a bit.

Right now I only really have Palacios, Sandro & Miles Addison as holding type MFs, and Addison needs developing before he can slot in & play, aside from cup matches & against lower level Prem clubs.

Bostock & Dos santos give me youth as attacking MF players, to go along with Lennon, Modric, Bentley, Krancjar, Vandervaart & Henrique. I'm set there for awhile assuming I can retain Modric (United want him BAD).

Gomes is my only legit keeper, as Cudicini wants first team action & will probably look to move on in the offseason. He didn't start a single match this year lol, Gomes was a rock for me. Areola is my future. I need to sign a reliable backup, unless Alnwick starts to show more.

Assou-Ekotto wants a move, but I have Bale ready to step in at LB. I'd like to have both, but that might not be a possibility. Corluka & Hutton share time at RB. Naughton & Walker are by prospects as full backs. Naughton played in a hand full of matches this year & was solid as a 20 year old.

I appreciate the advise. Please let me know of any signings that could help me, and are realistic for Spurs. With CL footy next year I need more quality depth, without upsetting the current setup.
