No, they did not. Which is what I was afraid of. The "two weeks" came from Capello after the game.

Official word is 4-6 weeks. I hate international football.

We have the most injury prone team in Club Football without a doubt. I don't even sigh when I see one of our players have been injured.

It really needs to be addressed.

I can only assume that Diaby, Denilson and Clichy are next in line for a few weeks out.

          lol

we are about average, its just you pay attention to Arsenal Injuries above all others

as a brief snap shot today on the way to work
          the sports news featured

Chelsea- Lampard and Terry out and have been for the entire season so far
MasnUre-Owen Hargreves still not available after being out for 18 months and Rio still unavailable

Everton's Jack Rodwell(the next kid superstar-Im not convinced) out till Christmas
Tottingscum- Defoe out for up to 6 weeks as is Dawson

almost all teams have 1-2 first team pro's out at any one time
thats why the squads are so big

consider that the year Ipswich came up(2000-2001 i think) and managed to finish the season in 5th it was attributed to the fact that not ONE first team player picked up any lengthy injuries
following season there top striker was out for 3 months plus there best player missed 6-8 weeks and they were relegated in fact half way through the league and they had only won 1 game
          "whats wrong with him?"

          "can he play?"

Naa. You guys are slightly ahead of the injury curve. Lamps has been relatively injury free for his career but Terry seems to get nicked for a couple of matches here & there. You can always count on RVP & Theo to get nicked up though.

              lol
my point was to illustrate that every team has injuries
not to pick on certain players

but I do like your scientific approach

how about when you had robbin duff joe cole and shaun wright phillips? to name but a few. Is the sample size to include them and does that not put you above the curve yourself lol( im assuming your a glory hunting Chelsea fan)

As to Arsenal there are a certain few players that are injury prone
RVP and Walcott would qualify for us

But it does nt seem to me to put us above the "injury curve"

whatever that is and however you could measure it in any way that wasnt subjective

not sure about that... i guess you have done more research to make a claim.

i think the point is that arsenal has a rep for being soft and then highlighted when players go down.
everyone gets the injury bug. i am frustrated with RVP... just cant be counted on as a core striker. but do you take the risk of him performing somewhere else? tough call...

No crap Goonerstaff, I think we all know that every team has injuries. Arsenal seems to have more injury prone players than most all the big club teams. RVP and Walcott for example can always be counted on to suffer a massive injury during the season. Not to mention Bedtner, Diaby, Clichy, Rosicky, and now Nasri usually always missing some substantial time as well.

It seems the only player we have that has stayed pretty much injury free for Arsenal since he's been here is Sagna.

Yeah, injuries do really hit us hard, but what's encouraging after today's game is that the team seems to have more cover available than usual. And even though there was controversy surrounding the red card, this was a game that Arsenal never looked like losing. But for that one defensive mistake that resulted in Arsenal giving up a goal, the team was in command. Cesc played like a madman out there and was easily the best player on the pitch, and Arsenal could have won by a lot more.

I just imagine what Cesc could do if he was actually thinking about Arsenal instead of his mind constantly thinking about Barcelona.

Jay-Z looking to invest in Arsenal...

JAY-Z is planning to spend more time in London as he prepares to invest in a top British soccer team.

The rapper has previously spoken of his interest in becoming a major shareholder in Barclays Premier League club Arsenal, admitting he has been a fan of the team since French star Thierry Henry played for them.

But Jay-Z, who co-owns U.S. basketball team the New Jersey Nets, insists he will have to play an active role in Arsenal if he's to clinch the deal.

He says, "(Wife Beyonce and I) would have to spend much more time in London. Bey knows how much I love sports and has known about my interest in Arsenal for a while.

"I never want to be a back-seat investor. I want to be on the board, involved in the decision-making... I'm at the stage of my career where I am ready for another investment like this. I have really got into soccer over the last 10 years and I've been saying for some time I want a percentage of Arsenal."

Now Diaby is out, after this absolutely clean and beautiful tackle.

Just look at how well timed that is. Foot meets the ball, what a shame the man got a wee bit caught.

Pathetic. Not even a yellow card.

Hello folks. I'm a new Soccer fan, like only been following the sport for about a month. I must say that once you learn the nuances, this game truly is beautiful. I've just copped the Fox soccer channel and have been watching some games, and have been trying to decide on which PL teams pique my intersest. Stoke City and Arsenal always stand out to me, so I think I'll be following this thread closely and commenting here and there.

When the Cavs were balling, new Cavs fans were coming out of the friggin woodwork, and I don't want to be "that" guy, lol...but I've done alot of reading up on things and the Gooners just do it for me. Ive read the thread from stem to stern, and I appreciate the insights on here guys.
